Please Subscribe

It’s wonderful to have easy access to what’s going on in our city and our own neighborhoods. Support local news! Subscribe to the paper or online edition of the AZ Daily Star! No local news would be very bad news!

Clunky - but it works

Town News doesn’t have the sophistication of some web developers but at least we have local news and I can get it on my phone!

Poor photo formatting

Many minor shortcomings in tucsoncom, but the most annoying is the way the photo at the top of an article often appears as if badly cropped, with the upper half of the subject’s head missing. I have an iPhone 12 with the most-recent version of IOS. What’s up?

Up-to-Date News

Getting the latest news is really great. I really enjoy the news updates.
Good to keep up with the news.
Thank you for great reporting.

App ALWAYS outdated

App always running a few days behind on the news....seems like most of the news isn’t all that relevant, like they saved all the minor stories for tucsoncom ...the actual Daily Star newspaper is 1000% times better than their digital presence...serious work needs to be done on tucsoncom

Wish app did not crash so much

Could be five start if they would get a better app. One that does not freeze or crash.

HPChap,

I know you want to protect your photographers. I’m a photographer. The fact that i can’t zoom, to actually see the images illustrating your articles, is extremely annoying! Of the news i read around the country, yours is the only one to do this. Also, tucsoncom errors every time i want to open a notification. If you actually want to be competitive in these digital times; make tucsoncom something people will seek out. Now, it’s something i have to deal with.
Unfortunate, i used to deliver this paper as a kid, when i thought it was important:(

Sincerely,
Soon to be an AZCentral reader!
Again, unfortunate.

I can always count on news to hit my phone faster keeping me updated day to day. I rely much on TUCSON news now !!! Love tucsoncom !

Security Warning

Just a word of caution that tucsoncom snoops for personal information. I am now routinely getting notifications that tucsoncom is accessing clipboard data. I hope they will discontinue this practice with a future release.

No auto rotate on iPad

tucsoncom performs the basic functions for a news reader; except allowing for a portrait format. While some may like reading their news with two hands, I do not. Disabling a basic function within the iPad makes little sense.

Needs update

8 times out of 10, if you click read notification of headline you just received, you will get the error “Failed to load article, SQLite result error 0”. Otherwise good for local news.

News

If they actually got the news right instead of posting stories of rumors and hearsay. Also, with all that education and computer tools they have, but yet daily there are stories with misspellings and incorrect grammar all over the place. It’s really sad that it happens. Apparently the editors are as sloppy as the journalists are. They should care about their craft.

Many glitches

When tapping to see the whole article on the first page, the whole screen locks up. I stopped using tucsoncom because of this issue. I waited several months to see if the issue was resolved but no it hasn’t been!

Tucson News App

Ahhh, the faithful little app that keeps me connected with local news.

Best Available

This is the best available electronic news reporting available.

Good site

Generally good site, though there are some problems with blurry print. Good newspaper and a better site than many online newspapers.

No longer works

App no longer shows anything but saved stories now. There is no way to view the news other than what was saved. Since I don’t save any stories, I see nothing at all. No way to exit out of the saved stories menu either. What a waste of an update.

Horrible

Never updates all the daily stories. Crash prone. Crappy Hansen and lousy sports editor.

Doesn’t work

No longer works. Just takes me to “saved stories” (I don’t have any) and it won’t let me navigate anywhere else. It’s bad enough to try to read a news story and remove their bias, but now I can’t even read the stories. Not much positive to say about this.
