It’s a nice app when I’m watching my team at home or away games and I want to see score updates from around the same conference, but updates are FAR from real time, and on occasion don’t come through until later periods or even not at. It’s nice to see the RPI/PWR rankings, but being able to see the USCHO Poll would be great. Box Scores aren’t part of the free version, which is insane, especially considering it costs $2.99, but if you pay I guess you also get extended stats info, and a different view of scores from all over D1?

tl;dr
If you want inconsistent, slow and occasionally incorrect push notifications for one or a few teams, the free version is pretty alright. Can’t see any reason for wasting money on the premium version other than the box score but even then.

Had to turn off notifications. Getting a game start test alert multiple times a day. Otherwise works for keeping up with scores and rankings

Previous problem with scoreboard updates seems to be fixed, working great now. Thanks to developer for taking care of the problem.

Before the most recent update, I would only get my team’s game alert an hour before the game and the final. After the update, I get no notifications at all. I even deleted and re-downloaded CollegeHockeyNews , and restored my premium subscription, and still nothing. I’d love to get goal updates sent so I can keep track of my team while I work all hours of the day.

By far, this is the best app out there to follow Division I Men’s College Hockey. It’s elegant in its design and is easy to navigate. The paid version is absolutely worth it, especially if you are into keeping track of player and team stats.

I have the free version and I used to be able to get to the pairwise ranking but that function seems to disabled now not sure if this is intended or not. Generally CollegeHockeyNews is pretty good besides that once this is fixed I will return to using CollegeHockeyNews over USCHO app.

I’ve used CHN for a while and have always enjoyed it, but was always disappointed that it was limited to Men’s D1 NCAA hockey. Adding D1 Women’s scores is great!

Hands down, this is the most informative college hockey app that there is! Realtime scoring & very nice layout. Player profiles.
Worth the upgrade! Ive had CollegeHockeyNews now for at least 5-6 years...

Have paid version and like player profiles but noticed scores of tournament games don’t all update - Hockey East BC UMass semi not accurate even day after game for e.g. Had similar issue during 1st round ECAC games. Free USCHO app had updated scores posted. Nice app otherwise.

Can’t believe it’s 2019 and almost impossible to follow your favorite college hockey team. CollegeHockeyNews does this almost to perfection. Thank you.

I am looking at the standings and the number of wins/losses don’t add up. Big 10 says Wisconsin is 10-0 but the breakdown only is showing 8 total wins. Am I missing something?

...overall the best..(only) college hockey app there is no consistency in updates week to week...especially during playoffs...when updates are critical

Just paid for the new version, CollegeHockeyNews crashes every time I try to see a box score... which is basically the only reason to buy the paid version. It’s very disappointing. Stick with the free version.

It basically lays out four separate clunky phone apps on the screen

Please fix the standings in the WCHA and make the overall rankings button work again.

This is a great app for D1 men’s hockey. Disappointed that’s all it covers. NO WOMEN!! And neither men nor women DIII. What CollegeHockeyNews provides is sufficient. Sometimes the news is hard to navigate.

Since the latest update, CollegeHockeyNews crashes as soon as you choose to look at a particular game. Disappointing.

Love CollegeHockeyNews but really wish they would also add all the women’s teams!! I follow both men’s and women’s and I think it’s only fair!!

I have used CollegeHockeyNews since it 1st came out. Every year I purchase the full functionality with game stats and details. This yr, for some reason, it has had many issues around performance and just up to date game data. Empty scores days after games complete, or even scores the day of the game. I find myself having to just go to Hockey East Online to get accurate game scores and details. I’m hoping the issue have just been related to the Covid issues with games and CollegeHockeyNews will be the outstanding app I’ve used for years prior.
