Planimeter Measure Land Area Reviews

It seems like the only way to map anything is to use Google maps… Which hasn’t been updated with a satellite view in quite a while. Even if it had, there’s so many trees on the property, it’s basically impossible to tell where you’re at location wise. There doesn’t seem to be a way to go from app to physical location easily. We’re trying to measure out fencing for less than an acre, but there’s no way to put in any coordinates (unless I’m missing something). The “help” portion of PlanimeterMeasureLandArea isn’t helpful. It just gives you the most basic information that you can probably figure out on your own.

I could do something similar in a basic image editing software and not waste $8. If you have multiple acres of land, I’m sure this would be more useful.

I thought I could use PlanimeterMeasureLandArea to physically walk out measurements, and it is WAY OFF. I am measuring the 50’x30’ rectangular tent at one of our seasonal retail locations. I just walked the perimeter, dropping a pin at each of the 12 support posts. PlanimeterMeasureLandArea made the rectangular tent look like a 12 point asymmetrical star or something. I needed to measure the tent to set up our tables and displays, starting at the tent and moving outward on the property. I guess I’ll have to go back to the old fashioned way we’ve done it for years and years. 😕

I rated it a 2 instead of a 1 because at least PlanimeterMeasureLandArea can be used to measure an area with a location address. This doesn’t help us since the tent is never placed in the same exact spot.

Option to hide distance or leave blank and to be able to highlight area in different colors.

I love this program. Have recommended it to several others. It's fun, accurate and handy for many professional and non-professional uses.

Only problem is that there is no sync or cloud storage function. I work mainly on iPad but would like to carry the work on my iPhone.

Developer has done a good job of updates, and continues to listen to his host of users for recommendations in the future.

I highly recommend PlanimeterMeasureLandArea.

My only other suggestion would be to make the maps shareable. Meaning if I create a map in PlanimeterMeasureLandArea I would like to share it with my team that also uses the same app. The map that I create needs to auto populate into there app so that they can see where they are at within the map that I create.

Been using PlanimeterMeasureLandArea for a couple of years and so far I’m happy with it…could use a few upgrades, but for the cost and performance far exceeds this Good app I recommend it!

I want to use the program on 2 devices with the same saved information. Can you do this and how?

PlanimeterMeasureLandArea has saved me a lot of time and money for my business. It has allowed me to give estimates without having to drive to my customers’ homes.

Great tool, just need more information on how to measure multiple areas and keep each area separate from all others on the screen.

Have used it for years to support natural areas restoration - documenting in the field areas of invasives cut or areas under management on property where the aerial map is undifferentiated green trees (no features like driveways or roofs to measure against).

I use PlanimeterMeasureLandArea all the time. It is pretty accurate. Only fault I could even attempt to give it, google maps doesn’t update fast enough. And that is out of their control.

This is one of the best apps of its kind. The capability is incredible and allows for most of my needs. This includes things like having multiple shapes colors and more. On the down side, it would be nice if you had more options for showing notes and presenting measurements. Another major issue is the inability to export maps to another device or a sync feature so my maps would be current on all my devices. The only other thing I can think of is the maps offered in this program are not as current as some of the other apps I use. Not a big deal overall but worth mentioning.

I have used Planimeter ever since MyMeasure messed up their app. With the new update Planimeter has taken the usability to a whole new level! With the ability to now have multiple structures, shapes, and colors it has so many new capabilities.

I use this all the time. Great for quick measuring and with the new features it is easy to use. I've told many people about this program over the years and they have purchased and used it extensively as well.

PlanimeterMeasureLandArea is great. I am a contractor and use often for reviewing aerial views of work areas and others uses. Have found it to be highly accurate also even when comparing to paid services like goipave.

This is the best app out there for measuring and and marking tracks of land. I use it to map out agricultural features, potential sites for housing and ponds, and for hunting purposes. It has the potential to be the best mapping/surveying app for iOS. If PlanimeterMeasureLandArea designers added options for parcel info and boundaries, as well as historical imagery, and soil maps, I would be willing to pay $50 or more. For PlanimeterMeasureLandArea. With that said, it’s current utility is well worth the money.

I have used PlanimeterMeasureLandArea for 2 years and it changed my life. Bold statement I know. But as a contractor going to customers homes all the time to give them estimates knowing that a large percentage will not call me back based on price. This allows me to give estimates over the phone thus reducing or eliminating the cheapskate contact. I give them an estimate and can care less if they call me I have larger fish to fry. hahah! No but seriously PlanimeterMeasureLandArea is great!

I have paid for 2 other apps and knew there were features I desired as we use this in a farming application. Being able to make multiple drawings, add flags for features, turn drawing features on and off, eg. Lengths, area is a big asset. Can make a duplicate of a drawing and adjust and still have original.
There is no doubt this is worth the extra couple of dollars, you’ll never need another area/dimension app.

I received a response from an email to the company and they resolved the issue, the half moon option switches to a different map, weird but it worked. Anyways, the customer service was quick and spot on, awesome!

Bought PlanimeterMeasureLandArea for the ease of measuring and getting bids together, however the old outdated maps are not working well for me with all the new builds going on in my area. Just down the road is a building that was constructed, they started breaking ground on it 5 years ago and there is zero of that in the outdated maps. Just an example but still a real problem imo.

I use PlanimeterMeasureLandArea to mark poly lines and measure acres when finishing a sprayer load or boarder spray! Use PlanimeterMeasureLandArea more than the weather app! Needs some minor fixes such as being able to share maps not just the coordinates
