No good. The idea is great. It crashes on ipad2 with latest OS. It sounds are ok until you try to adjust parimeters, then all clicks and then crash. No good.
Newest update does not solve the crash issue. Horrible app.
CrystalSynthXT is no fun. The sounds are not up to par with other synth apps like Animoog and TC-11. I do realize that it is cheaper in price, but the bar has been set.
Adjusting parameters in CrystalSynthXT is no fun. The interface is not too good. I would recommend avoiding CrystalSynthXT and getting something better.
CrystalSynthXT has plenty of great sounds, but there are so many issues. The main one being crashing. I am running the latest iOS and have the most current version of CrystalSynthXT. I am running CrystalSynthXT on an iPhone 6. This is the first app I have encountered, since I acquired this phone, that crashes on a regular basis. There are also many small glitches within CrystalSynthXT that arouse as time goes on. There are broken links, issues with recording, glitchy inconsistent rhythms, and a subpar interface. CrystalSynthXT has so much potential to be great, but it has way too many issues for me to even consider using it for any work right now. I gave it 2 out of 5 stars, instead of 1, because I believe a little hard work from the developers can make this a great app. As of right now, I do not recommend that anyone buy CrystalSynthXT.

The sonic possibilities are good, so if you want to tinker around with making patches, it's great. If you want to then use those patches for music, it goes downhill somewhat due to latency, and limited midi capability (limited cc mapping foretc.). Crystal synth has definite potential, though and is a bargain for the price, even for a single evening's tinkering.
The breed function is so fast and fun to make new patches. Inter app audio and Audiobus compatible. Hope AUV3 will be implemented. Such great sounds….been a fav of mine long before iOS…a wonderful app for a decade or more!
This thing has lots of parameters. I tried the VST version of this, and it had lots of potential, but on the iPad it is easier to use. If you like designing evolving pads, CrystalSynthXT rocks. Lots of sonic potential, comparable to PPG Wavegenerator. Audiobus support would rock.
The Crystal algorithms have been some of my favorites for years and now it's in a friendly format for the iPad. Takes a little getting used to, but the same amazing Crystal character is in there. Well done!
Crystal (desktop) plugin + Crystal Synth XT + iPad + MIDI Controller = sound tweaking heaven...
Love being able to do sound design on the desktop, transfer the patches to iPad (and vice versa!), plugin a mobile keyboard, go anywhere... Fantastic.

Great, great app, especially if you also use the desktop version. The biggest improvement would be the ability to Load/Save banks so you could upload desktop banks and have multiple ones to choose from at once.
Ya know, I really didn't dig too deeply into Crystal on the Mac, though I've had it for many years. This is totally my loss! After diving into it on the ipad, it has become one of my favorites alongside Nave and several others. Crystal's modulation routing matrix among other features just make it such an incredible tool for making fantastic sounds that can evolve or cut or whatever you need. It's crazy good. Highly recommended! I am a professional composer/ engineer/musician/sound designer and I'm crazy grateful that this was ported to the ipad. So good!
This music synth is a bread-and-butter sound maker that I've been relying on for years: first on the desktop, then the iPhone, and now the iPad. This update adds a couple of bells and whistles to the mainstay features, which continue to be outstanding: lots of good preset sounds, plus the ability to be creative and make your own. Lots of functionality with a very user-friendly interface. This can be used stand-alone, but works best when coupled with a MIDI keyboard. Recommended both for beginners or advanced alike.
This is a fantastic app for making pads and ambient sounds. The presets are wild and you can make some super crazy sounds of your own. You can record what you play into garageband. Endless fun.
Yes I want to buy crystal synth xt twice. My suggestion is an in app purchase for the less feature rich crystal synth, allowing crystal synth to function as a second instance on crystal synth xt. Yes I will be willing to pay the same cost for a second instance of crystal synth xt, I love it that much. I want to support you guys, I don't know if that is too much trouble dealing with in app purchases, but I would gladly buy it. I use multiple instances of NLog and Sunrizer, but the flaw with those apps is I cannot run two instances of either on an iPhone or iPod because neither are universal. Crystal synth and crystal synth xt are already both universal. Ideally for receiving midi data from genome and lemur, i would run both instances of crystal synth audio through audiobus into whatever iOS DAW I'm running currently. Sorry if this is not where you want suggestions, I cannot find a valid contact link. So if I have not made it abundantly clear, crystal synth xt is really really great. Right after this review I am going to go buy the basic version of crystal and cross my fingers. Btw thank you for the Dropbox updates, very useful.

I've had the AU for years and to this days use the presets, modified a bit to taste on almost every track (and i have almost all the big boy synths).
