MyLight – Flashlight & LED Reviews

Basically MyLight is a blank screen and when you open MyLight it automatically turns the brightness (on your iPad) to max. I’ll admit, it hurts my eyes a lot. But there is some use for it. I mean, it’s great if you want to read a book and a quick source of light. But who wants to carry their bulky iPad around just to get light? I have personally, prefer a book light. They’re not too much money, slim, and attach to the book perfectly. If you’re thinking of getting MyLight for something entirely else—well, I do see some uses besides book reading. You could use it for drawing. If you place the paper on top of a light you can easily make a flip book. If you think it would be handy so that if a light burns out you have light, then you’re completely right! That has to be the most fitting use for MyLight. If a light were to burn out or the power burnt out—this is a quick and easy way to get light. But of course, iPad’s do run out of battery power so it’s not the most reliable. And again, they have no-battery-required crank lights. So do we really even need MyLight? You decide for yourself, download it, give it a try, and see if it’s really worth it. After all, it is free.

I love MyLight and have been using it as a reading light in bed since August with no issues. However, the last few nights when I’ve tried to use it, I’ll open MyLight to the color screen that I have set for my reading light and the screen will go dark after 30 seconds or so of inactivity. It seems to be mirroring my phone’s power saving preferences and dimming the screen since I am not actively touching it. I was wondering if this is reflective of the new update or simply an error? If it is part of the update, how can I set MyLight so that this does not happen?

I have Ben using MyLight for 2 days now and it’s amasing I am only 10 and it’s really helping with my sight at night and... it turns of in a hour so your devise 👩🏼‍💻dose not die I would recommend getting MyLight it’s like legit amazing are use it every single night and even though I’m so scared dark it’s still easy for me to see in the dark with this light on you could turn it down and you can turn it up also I’ve noticed that when you charge your iPad or your device 👩🏼‍💻it doesn’t use battery percentage MUST DOWN LLOAD👉🏻👰🏼‍♀️👍🏻 even the welding girl likes MyLight !!!!!🙃😉🙂😴😴😴👌🏻👍🏻

Well MyLight is great, I use it as a reading light at night, it work on ur iPad and iPhone. U can use it as a night light but it take a lot of battery, well that on u, if u want to. I use it on my iPad because it much more lighter. If u reading this I say u need download it , it a great app, love it. I been using this since few days ago and I like it. *well I like to read at night * and the color change one is my favorite one. I hope u downloaded MyLight it great *saying it again* I like it *saying it again* 🙂

Prior to installing this flashlight, I had tried a number of others. With each one I tried, I grew more and more frustrated. They were overly complicated, only worked intermittently, and were just general pains in the neck. I felt as if I were attempting to operate a nuclear reactor!

By contrast this flashlight does what it’s supposed to do LIGHT UP. It’s easy to use and guides me on whatever path I’m on. It’s also great finding lost objects under a couch or bed.

I highly recommend it.

I see a couple of reviews saying that they don’t understand the use of this, and that they don’t get it so I’ll address it.
People seem to be getting confused on the purpose when it’s exactly what it’s advertised: a flashlight.
As there’s no flash in the iPads this is really useful!
It serves its use really well and you could probably light up a barn with its as its very bright haha.

I have loaded this on my iPhone and my iPad primarily for the screen light for nighttime reading when I just need a broad soft light on the page. I can adjust the brightness of the screen and it’s been fun playing with the other options MyLight offers too. And now that I think of it, there may be some photography lighting opportunities this may solve too, I’ll have to play some more. Great job, thank you.

Unfortunately, my iPad doesn’t have flash. Therefore I can only use the screen as my flashlight. My review was mainly because I think it is absolutely wonderful how the developers take the time to read AND respond to the customers reviews, comments, questions and concerns! That is awesome! That alone is what prompted me to give the 5 star review! Great job, great customer service and from I can tell, great app!

Yeah because it stayed out all night and I think it work best if you’re working all night because if you’re working outside like my dad is I think it would be really good because it stayed on it where you stayed on all night but I turned it off because my friend
was already asleep.

Great app! There is one problem though. Whenever I open MyLight , my phone says that MyLight is using the camera. I feel kind of uncomfortable knowing that an app is using my camera without telling me, soooo :/

Update: Thank you developer for responding, I will turn on my settings for camera. Overall great app!

I was playing softball in my back yard when the ball went on the roof. It was the evening so I had to bring the light on my iPad to go retrieve the ball. When I climbed on roof, I couldn’t get down! So I went to MyLight and did the sos and what do you know! I was saved by the neighbors! I swore to do great ratings on MyLight always!

I got MyLight for a flip book and it helps so much! My plan was to make one flip book and then delete MyLight, but MyLight helped so much I will keep it around for a while, I’m also a child who has an overactive imagination So when it’s night time MyLight helps so much! I recommend downloading MyLight it’s amazing!

I found this simple app today. I was looking for a simple camera light that could give me some options for different color and hue. This hit the spot. I would only suggest some simple standard camera lighting options. You could do like a day or night camera light. Then the user cold adjust accordingly to their need.

This is perfect for me. It’s just what I wanted for my iPad. I didn’t want a bright flashlight. Just something that would give me enough light to get into the bedroom after I turn off all the lights etc. The screen lights white and it’s just enough to get me where I’m going. I love it! 😁

All the others just show a blank screen and all you can do for brightness is just up you phones and that’s the best they have to offer. With MyLight it’s like an iPhone flashlight I can actually see in the dark when I use this.

I prefer using the screen over the flash. The screen’s light is softer and More diffuse.

Selecting the screen causes the flash to blink on and off one time. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s sloppy programming?

My one and only suggestion/complaint would be the on-screen icon when using it. My thought is this; I use the light with the intensity turned all the way down to check on my kids at night. Fantastic! Kudos for the adjustability factor!

My screen brightness needs to be pretty high so I can see it (macular degeneration), so in a dark room with minimal light, that blue button is blinding.

I realize I could simply turn down my screen, but I'm thinking also that a marrying of the button with the light brightness slider would be a fantastic feature.

I wish the screen would stay dim while the light is lit or at least not as bright. Who's ever need a light shining in their face while they were using a flashlight. It doesn't make much sense. Other than that it's a great flashlight. As good as any I've had on a phone. Very bright!

My iPhone’s light stopped working. It started working again after I installed MyLight! Probably user error; Dunno but don’t care either. Works! And if it stops again, I can use the all white screen option. The strobe effects are just perks. ❤️it!

Using and then exiting MyLight causes the screen display to go to the lowest brightness setting. I initially thought I had done that on accident, but I deleted MyLight , changed my display settings back to the original brightness, then reinstalled MyLight. Sure enough, after using MyLight and exiting, my phone’s display went back down to the lowest setting. Permanently deleted until the bug is worked out.

I put MyLight on my iPad mainly for the times our family travels. Both our parents’ houses are very dark at night, and my husband or I end up having to share a very dark bed/room with our toddler who isn’t quite old enough to be okay sleeping by herself in a strange bed at grandma’s house or at a hotel. It’s so nice to have MyLight. It’s bright enough that you can see where You are going without stubbing toes or banging a shin and quietly get stuff from your suitcase in the room while she’s sleeping without waking her up, but it’s dim enough that You can point it right at her check to on her while she’s asleep without disturbing her.
