QuickBooks Payroll Reviews

Originally I didn’t want to change to QBO because the cost was more expensive. Now they increased the cost of desktop to the equivalent of the online program, so I went ahead and made the change. The features for QBO far exceed that of the desktop program. After setting up, I ran payroll in less than 30 seconds. After connecting bank feeds to QBO, all my transactions are entered automatically and all I have to do is review and maybe change the account where expenses are applied and then done. I save so much more time now with all the automated processes they have developed with the online version. My only regret is that I didn’t change sooner.

I am still a tad bit new to QuickBooksPayroll however the little that I have delved into has yet to stop wowing me. Payroll is practically done for you with literally a few clicks of a button or a couple of taps on a screen or smart device.
Again a brilliant app with so much assistance given to you from expenses, receipts, P &L’s and let’s not forget about the repeated transactions that Intuit would recognize and know what and where to allocate just after a few process on your statement, I mean the list goes on.
Not saying I’m out looking for a flaw in QuickBooksPayroll however I haven’t found one yet.

Hate terribly that Intuit did away with their other online payroll service. The Quickbooks payroll service that they rolled us into is the worst business software I’ve ever used. Intuit Payroll Service was way more intuitive and always worked. There was an easy “to do” section and all info was easily accessible. Quick books doesn’t even work half the time I try to use it, it never lets me print my tax payment forms when I try to review and print, among many other problems. I’ll definitely be looking for another service that works better and that’s more intuitive. The thought that Quickbooks payroll offers more functionality over the Intuit Online Payroll is comical. Too bad. I loved the old one.

QuickBooks is by far the best online full service payroll company I’ve tried. Customer service is outstanding!! Everything was simple to set up and any questions I had were answered in a timely manner. Not having to personally run my payroll not only gives me peace of mind that taxes are being filed properly and on time, but it frees time for me to handle other business. Not to mention the automatic end of year tax filings! Direct deposit and time tracking is also a plus! I am overall pleased with the level of service thus far! Keep it up!!

Literally the worst possible customer service I have ever experienced. It is now a month and they still won’t cancel my payroll service just keep charging me monthly and carrying on. I’ve been on a dozen calls trying to straighten out tax issues to no avail. Every single time I get “disconnected” the second I start asking challenging questions. And then I get numerous follow up emails from random people asking I need anything. How about this. Don’t hang up on me. There’s a start. I respond to these emails and nothing. I was provided a “business success” person. Does she respond to emails or phone calls. Nope. What a terrible pathetic excuse for a company. They have been reported for fraudulent charges to my credit card as well as to the BBB. Enjoy

I am small business owner and I pay myself as well, so I’ve been using this service for 6 yrs now and it has been the best choice I’ve ever made. I can manage it as I want(pay less or more) weekly or monthly whatever your needs are and I have had Zero problems with it.. Moreover they make monthly payments to IRS for all my taxes liabilities to pay. I do it on My phone so I can do this in a blink from anywhere and literally I takes me 20 seconds to run my payroll .. I highly recommend it

I was running close on finishing payroll late and that would have created a huge problem. I own multiple business large and small and this was for my smaller company of only 15 employees and the payroll app Is pretty user friendly but obviously has its issues and with all of that I was able to finish it at the park with my kids and it was packed but I got my payroll done under 5 minutes!

I was invited by my boss to use QB to view paystubs and hours worked. Everything was fine for a few days, now when I try to log in it makes me fill out information I’ve already filled out, and when I try to hit ‘Next’ it says ‘something’s not quite right’. I already spoke to a customer service rep but QuickBooksPayroll won’t fix itself.

Please fix this bug, I’d like to be able to view my paystubs again without having to fill in information I’ve already entered.

Literally just saved me from being a day late on payroll! The browser was giving an error so I logged in and with just a few clicks and 37 seconds to spare, I made the deadline! The only thing I wish QuickBooksPayroll had is the ability to add notes to a payroll transaction (it’s available for contractors but not employees on mobile) and touch access. Nothing a future update can’t fix. Thank you!

I was skeptical about processing payroll with the QBO app, since I’m not able to do any work with it compare to the browser, but I did not wanted to get my laptop out. So, I decided to use my iPad’s chrome browser, that also has its issues with zooming, I clicked on payroll, then I had to signed on again, clicked on payday, and finally clicked on approved. The whole thing took 16 seconds, like I said, I was impressed. Thanks Intuit.

I am an accountant with several QB clients. I have been downloading and then deleting QuickBooksPayroll repeatedly over the past year or so because I get so fed up with it. It is extraordinarily glitchy.
It constantly asks me to sign in, even if I have just signed in, and for some reason even if it works for my clients’ companies, it won’t let me run payroll for my own firm.
I tap on my firm, and it tells me to sign in. I sign in. It briefly shows my employees, but then just as quickly gives me another message to sign in again.
Developers, please fix this.

When QB payroll moved my payroll from my desktop version it moved hundreds of ex-employees who had been inactive for as long as 12 years into active employees in the new online payroll. You can’t simply click them as inactive or terminated as you can with desktop. You have to go into every profile, add information and then follow steps to take them from active....the easiest way being to delete them. This wipes out all the records for the employee. I am looking at twenty hours of wasted time correcting the glitch. And you can’t process any tax documents unless you do this. And QB Dior’s not have a fix for this.

As a small business owner ... I play many roles that are essential to operate a successful operation. One that starts with taking care of my team paychecks. QuickBooksPayroll makes it easy and simple to process my payroll. It takes me about 2 minutes to enter the information, and just like that I take of my most important task my employees!

It works as far as looking at reports, but don’t expect to be able to submit payroll if you have full-service payroll.

Please note this review is reflective of QuickBooksPayroll and not the payroll service as it works well with the computer and the team is able to fix things quickly if you have an error in reporting as I did while trying to use QuickBooksPayroll .

QuickBooksPayroll is great. I was able to run payroll right from my phone app while on vacation, out of the country. It took just 1 minute.
Great addition if you are traveling or away from the office and can’t sign on to QuickBooks to run payroll. It was so easy and fast. It was actually quicker & easier than running payroll the conventional way.

QuickBooksPayroll is supposed to have some convience to all of us that use it right? Well how come employees are the only ones who cant use QuickBooksPayroll to see their paycheck stubs and such? We have to get redirected to our browsers and i don’t think thats fair. Im pretty sure i speak for everyone thats an employee not an employer. Whats the point of us employees having an app that does nothing but redirect us to our browsers? Waste of time and system space if you ask me. Please fix this and it then i can give it a better review. Thank you.

I believe it throws a fit if your still signed into the online webbrowser or QuickBooksPayroll (computer) if you try to sign into the ios app

Past that idk if it lets more than one different account onto QuickBooksPayroll at once?

Aside from that i think the set up and simplicity of it is great! I just need to figure this out to make things more simple. Shouldnt have to log out of everything else at the very least it should log them out instead of telling you to. Generally youd use QuickBooksPayroll if you werent near your computer so logging everything out might be a tad annoying or even impossible in some circumstances

My account worked fine and signed me out of the web
My bosses account couldn't get in and neither could the admin account we figured wed just use to get past this issue. Any advice?

Since switching to Quickbooks payroll I’ve been so happy with the speed of doing my payroll. Truly love it. Took a bit to understand everything but once I got used to it ,I know I will never go back to my accountant to do payroll again.

My next move is to get onto quickbooks online!

For my purposes, I need to see the total cost (including employer taxes) so I can transfer the entire amount to another account. I keep withholdings in an interest bearing account until they are due. I can run payroll in QuickBooksPayroll if I’m not by a computer, but will still have to get online to see the amount I need to transfer. Unfortunately, the website doesn’t display properly on my phone either.

Easy to setup different payroll cycles, employees and different categories to pay them out of. Happy it keeps track and process all forms that involve payments. There are days where I have to process payroll on the fly and not from my desk. QuickBooksPayroll makes it easy to do that for all my employees.

I typically run payroll from my computer which is always fairly quick. Today was the first time I used QuickBooksPayroll and I am blown away at how much faster it was for me to run payroll. It took me 34 seconds and that’s only because I had to check on an employee’s hours! Love this. Will probably only use QuickBooksPayroll from now on!

Lately, QuickBooksPayroll has not been letting me sign in on my iPhone 8+. Don’t know what’s going on but it’s definitely frustrating. QuickBooksPayroll is not robust by any means, but most of the time I don’t need it to be, I just need to see what net PR and taxes are going to be to get the right amounts to the right accounts. Would be nice to have fingerprint sign on and be able to adjust pay rates, vacation, etc. or be able to fully onboard a new employee.

Fantastic app from Intuit. QuickBooksPayroll allows me to run payroll from literally anywhere while I’m traveling. This morning, I ran payroll while pumping gas on a business trip. The whole process took less than two minutes. Simple and effective.

Can’t edit my employees info from QuickBooksPayroll , default seems to have set my guys up as Female, app won’t let me edit the gender, the phone number, etc. also, it’s telling me I’m signed in on more than one device which I am NOT and will not let me sign in from my laptop because it thinks I’m still on QuickBooksPayroll , again, I am not. I made sure I signed out as it requested and it still shows the error. If I need to make edits ana my partner also needs to make edits, it will NOT allow sign in on multiple devices. What a pain!

I would recommend any first time employer to avoid this program. It is very expensive at $43 per month to pay a single household employee. Payments are delayed two days when other services can send money instantly. Getting year end tax requirements has been a nightmare. It seemed inexpensive at first, but the discount goes away and full price is over $500 per year. I am certain I will get penalized by the IRS for missing something. I’m totally freaked out. DON’T DO IT! Do not do it. Really, just don’t do it. Walk away.
