Overall this is a decent weather app. My local weather team does a fine job at it’s forecasting.

9NEWSWX does not allow me to see either my home weather or any of my saved locations while abroad. I am currently out of the country and when I open 9NEWSWX it informs me that “The application is not available in your current location” and displays my current latitude and longitude. There is no way to dismiss the alert screen so that I could navigate to my home location or any of the other saved locations I have. I understand that 9NEWSWX cannot possibly cover all locations around the globe although being able to see the places it can report on would be nice even when I’m at a place it doesn’t know about.

I attempted to report this bug through the “App support” link from 9NEWSWX Store, for 9NEWSWX, but sadly it only redirected me to my local news channel’s weather website. Not a trouble submission site. I also visited the Tegna website hoping to find a support page but was unable to find that either.

I hope Tegna sees this complaint and will submit it into their bug / features queue to be addressed in a future update.

Please go back to how the map looked and operated before the latest update; it doesn’t even label the city I select as my location and the area it shows is almost the entire state. Also the severe weather layering is not see-through, so you can not even see the radar beneath it to see where the precipitation is headed. Luckily i do not have auto update on my iPad, so i am able to enjoy being able to use the old format on that one device. The satellite, dark, and light map options are all equally bad, but I settled on the light option as it is easiest on the eyes and is the closest option to the old look of the map (green over land, blue water). Please reverse the update back to the version it was a few days ago.

I have five weather apps on my phone. Of all of these the 9news weather app is the most accurate in terms of wind speed and amounts of precipitation. Up in the mountains snow amounts are usually very accurate in fact more accurate than what they show on the news on TV.

This used to be the best weather app around. I especially loved the accuracy, clarity, and up-to-date data the radar provided. Now, the radar rarely works, blocking out entire segments of my area, or jumping around in an unsmooth and strange animation.

I get it: Colorado weather is hard to predict, but 9NEWSWX used to have the most accurate predictions of any weather app I could find. Now, it’s predictions of both temperatures and precipitation are rarely accurate.

All this is only if 9NEWSWX loads. I get many errors about my network connection when all my other apps aren’t having any issues.

This latest update is horrible! The map is so much harder to look at and more than half of the time I’m on there, the radar is completely wrong! It was clearly raining at my location, yet there was absolutely nothing on the radar (I have precipitation and clouds turned ON). Right now, I can see the storm tracks, lightning symbols and tornado watch boxes in my area, but again, there is nothing there on radar! I would kind of like to know what is heading toward me! The “future” tab is also very unreliable. I’m looking for another weather app, this one is so unreliable now.

I’ve used many many weather apps over the years and this is the only app that is accurate. I’m addicted to the “Hourly” screen as that’s very tight and reliable. The animation on the map can get a little confusing/glitchy but I don’t really need to see it anyway.

I was able to find everything quite simply plus some extras, like the recent infrared weather map movements. The hourly weather reports are mostly correct and best source for Colorado weather since it changes often.

I usually try to abide by the Thumper Rabbit rule of “If you can’t say something nice don’t say anything at all.” But I can’t withhold my comment on this one.

It’s completely unusable! It is never remotely accurate. I have now had 3 times in the last month since I downloaded this, about a month ago, where there is pouring rain, hail, and such and 9NEWSWX shows the skies are clear within at least a 10-15 mile radius. Right now it’s pouring rain in east Aurora and the map only shows activity over Boulder area.

Unfortunately one can no longer utilize 9NEWSWX when traveling as you can no longer access 9NEWSWX when traveling

The blank map doesn’t look normal and doesn’t have the proper colors for the weather conditions as they exist. I’ve been struggling with 9NEWSWX since it updated.

Hasn’t been working so well, I deleted it and reinstalled but when I try to open it I get a black screen & message saying can’t open in your location, every morning !

Not sure who to call on this so I thought I would write it here.
The latest update is now not letting me open 9NEWSWX at all on any of my devices. We have two iPhones and two iPads.

Would someone please tell me how to interpret the wind speed and directions? There seems to be a colored blob when I choose that view and no grid or guide or arrows or speed indications at all. Often there is a clear spot at the location I choose with the colored band around this location but I know there is some wind but who knows?

This is the best weather app. 9NEWS is based in Denver but I’ve recommended to people who live in other states and they use it because it is the best forecast.

It would be really nice if there were just a bit more information like where the temperature is taken and the barometric pressure. Also if the temp reading wasn’t so small and hard to read.

Most of the year, when I am not in Colorado, I still use the 9NEWS app because it has the best radar of any of my weather apps

This is a super easy and straightforward app. My only frustration is the locations list. I have a lot of locations and it would be nice if they were alphabetized automatically.

This is my number one go to weather app no matter where I’m at. All the I need and want.
I’ve had them all. This one “get’s it”!!!!!

I use 9NEWSWX every day and it is very reliable. My only complaint is the weather warnings cover up the clouds, especially the pink fire warnings. Otherwise I love it!

I rely on 9NEWSWX everyday and in severe weather.

Can you PLEASE give an accurate high temperature for the Elizabeth, Colorado region?? We are always at least 5 to 7° higher than what you post for the day… EVERYDAY! How can you not get that right even some of the time? I only seem to notice it during the summer months, but still…

I have 6 weather apps and 2 of you ( 9NEWSWX and other news app) isn’t very correct about this Howard, CO ! It doesn’t get that cold ! It hits 70’s to 80’s degrees! Not 45-55! Had to remove you and others since other 4 weather news is accurate!

Like most of the recent reviews this update ruined a good app. I don’t like the functionality at all. What are the “drag here” squares all about? I can’t get anything to drag and drop. I also don’t like how it doesn’t show clouds when you zoom in. So much is wrong please don’t sit on the issues any longer.

There was an update to 9NEWSWX a few weeks back and now the radar doesn’t seem to load properly or actually show up. The old map was so much better. Please bring back the old map and radar!!

Since last iOS update, this is terrible on my phone. I have uninstalled/ reinstalled countless times. Freezes constantly. Somebody needs to address this if you’re going to continue offering it.

With the latest update, suddenly I’m stuck looking at a satellite image of practically the whole state, no matter what location I select. Please change this back - just a flat map like before would be ideal but at the very least show me just the local area when I choose a city!!!!!

You can no longer use your current location without enabling permanent tracking. Location Services must be enabled "always" instead of "while using".
