I really like this game, the gameplay is fun, it’s not too easy but not too hard, but! I’m still affected by the score submission glitch so until that’s fixed I’ll only be giving 3 stars.

A great follow up to defense, but the controls aren't as accurate as you would want them to be. Trying to change your shooting (minor angles) direction while keeping your ship as stationary as possible is frustratingly hard (using touchscreen mode). By the time it does change direction, it was too wide of an angle change, and you're constantly trying to readjust. I suggest having two parts of the screen for controlling movement and shooting direction, keeping the ship in the middle for visibility. Controls would re-center whenever fingers are placed back onto the screen. This way, when you want to make an instant stop, it's just a matter of tapping. Same concept would apply to accelorometer(sp?) mode. Course, you'd need to replace the reverse shooting power-up. ;)

This game is probably my 3rd favorite game, and definitely my favorite shooter. However, it is very difficult (which I like) and tends to get frustrating when you have to start over every time. Personally, I would like to see a co-op multiplayer mode where you and your buddy each have your own squad. You could compete for resources and it would allow you to take down some of the tougher enemies quicker, and thanks to the customizing options, it would be a great team game. A save feature would be great too.

Awesome game- definitely worth the buy. However, on campaign mode after I beat the level titled "Command Unit Deadbeef" (I think it's the fifth or sixth level), the game says I've won. It proceeds to the cutscene even though on the map there are clearly at least seven more levels that I haven't played. Why is this? Come out with an update to fix this and maybe make the time limits more lenient, then it deserves five stars.

I really like the look and feel of this game but there are a few things that I would like added. Save/retry levels is a must have. I was so surprised that after I died after completing several levels that I was forced to restart the whole game!!! Also I understand that since the iPhone has an accelerometer that developers are keen on using it. With Blue Attack it was nice to have a non-accelerometer control but I did not like the feel of it. Adding a control wheel would be nice. Other than those two things, I love this game.

So fun it's one of my most played games in about 2 pages(of games)
I've played this or a while and in infinity, my highest score was 3 million!!

EDIT: wow... I used to play this game all the time about FIVE years ago, and I can’t believe it’s still in BlueAttack Store and is supported on the newest iPhone! The review from my 13 year old self is still here ^^^

Seriously great gameplay, slick controls, and so beautiful to look at. I'm buying anything this guy is selling. Easily my favorite game in BlueAttack store.
John, your graphic style add clean gameplay would be ideal for an Every Extend Extra type game. Keep up the good work.

Since the most recent update, whenever I open the game, It crashes to the home screen. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

If it works though, I must admit that this is the most playable accelerometer game and lends to the fact of smart and solid logistics on how a player would want to be moving.

So many upgrades and choices, with a solid endless mode lends to the replayability of the game (The controls supplement this too).

Tweaks to the engine stabilize and uphold the framerate while rendering so many enemy entities would help a bunch.

Again, controls and solidity of gameplay , along with upgrades, comprehensive settings (like rearranging the user interface) have made this a must buy.

Please fix this crashing bug though.

Don't let my hopeless portion fool or discourage you. This game is incredible and absolute fun. Even if i rate it 5 stars, doesn't mean the developer couldn't add a few new graphical excitements, like gun upgrades that are apparent within gameplay, or some different and new concepts to make it a little more interesting. As repetitive as this game gets after about 200 tries, it is still very addicting and very fun. Good Job John! Hit yes if you agree.

This game is very addictive and fun. I've been playing it for awhile now and I've barely skimmed the surface of this game. I really like the variety of upgrades and I look forward to the potential for more in the future.

The controls can take a little getting used to, but luckily there is a calibrator that allows you to center the balance of the ship.

Overall, great sound and visuals and the gameplay is smooth on my 1st gen iphone. Great job!

I have never felt compelled to write a review for a game on the Touch until I came across Blue Attack! I have most of what would be considered the big name or more popular choices in the store and this is the first App that has completely blown me away. This is by far one of the best if not the best game on BlueAttack Store. Inspired and simplistic design, excellent controls and awesome gameplay make this a must-have for anyone. I look forward to more offerings from Mr. Kooistra!

This is, without a doubt, THE best shooter for the ipod touch and iphone. The game play simple enough to quickly learn but so much fun it is hard to put the game down. The level of polish is also incredible, everything looks great and runs smoothly. Plus, the customization of the ship is done perfectly,with there being upgrades for almost everything you could think of. If you do not buy this game,you are missing out on a great piece of work.

Very simple yet elegant game. Perfect for on the go but veritable enough to keep you hooked with upgrades that actually matter!

Very, very fun. The controls are great, and the upgrades really elevate the gameplay. I love everything from the ship upgrades to the weapon upgrades to the wingman formations. there's a lot of customization. And the graphics, while simple, look really nice and are really smooth. Well worth the price and way better than a lot of games in the top 25. On a price CS value basis, this is a must buy.

As for the game length, the survival mode is as long as you can make it and provides plenty of time to fully upgrade your ship.

I've been playing Blue Defense! for months - more than any other game on my iPod - so I bought Attack! as soon as it was released and haven't been able to put it down. Amazing TRON-like graphic style that makes playing and menus a unique yet intuitive experience. John takes elements of your favorite classic arcade shooters and re-presents them in a totally new way.

Great visuals, great audio, great control, and great story too. You'll get your $2 worth the first day -- you won't be able to put it down!

Beware of Blue Attack! If you like cosmic shooters with engaging gameplay design and an intuitive interface - this game will demand your attention for a long while. It's as smooth as butta.

Everything is perfect and the developer is involved with the community and listens to feedback. He turned around the first update within a day of initial suggestions. He's insane and i'm in for whatever he creates from here on out. I could go on but why r u even reading this? Go buy the best game in BlueAttack store at any price. I'd pay $10 for this. Thanx John.

Blue Defense was so so, ATTACK! is much more deep and powerful!

You try and steer a ship and shoot the enemies off. The game uses neon colors and the explosion effects are superb! The game also provides the BEST tutorial out there. The tutorial is not simply a scroll and read the text type of tutorial.... instead it immerses you into the game and shows you what you can do with it.

The menu screens are perceived as labor of hard work as well. The screens take on the NEON/flashy color themes.

Also, the dev is fast when turning around updates. Upon 20 hours of release, initial bugs and ironings were submitted to BlueAttack store for update. SIGNS OF A GREAT DEVELOPER!

This game joins my list of great games that deserve to be in the top 100 Apps list, but are not. The game has so much to it. I mean, clean, retro, yet fitting graphics, great controls (once you unlock strafe, that is), awesome concept, and the "Red vs. Blue" theme was so well implemented in "Blue Defense". I only have two things to say: make the price for "strafe" lower, so average players can unlock it after the first level (I have a lot of trouble aiming without it), and maybe a save system in "story" mode. I mean save slots, or at least the ability to restart a level once you've lost. It feels really bad to lose all you've unlocked on your ship after only losing once.

I normally don't write reviews but after playing this for 2 hours straight I decided to take a break. Absolute perfection!!! If you are a fan of the first BLUE DEFENSE, this is the comback you always wished for against those little red devils. I looked for something anything to improve on and there simply isn't. The developer has thought of everything. From your customizable fleet to your weapons options to multiple gameplay options for continued enjoyment. This is honestly the first app I've played that seemed to go out of their way to throw everything in I would of put myself. I would of paid 10$ for it. You have a devoted fan who will purchase any future additions to the blue planet franchise. Thanx. Marc from Jersey.

Blue Attack! and Blue Defense! are 2 of my favorite games... great job! I love how stable (meaning they never crash) your games are (unlike a lot of other stuff in the crApp Store).

Attack! has tons of replay value and will definitely have you cursing the iPhone's battery life or playing tethered to a power plug...
