so localch is priceless, literally ;-> but because I'm bound to only use the USA store with my account or loose my TV season's passes... I literally had to stumble upon it in a search for a state by state white pages app... When I misspelled a search term!
one quarrel... And it may already be fixed when I download this version: Just because my iPAD tells localch I'm in Geneva or Zürich... Doesn't mean that's actually true, nor should the program, this one or any of your others... Or any APP for that matter then decide I want different content than on any other day! I turn off the geolocation option for a reason, so just because you can write an app to read the geographic location of my ISP doesn't mean you should, nor is it a "customer service"!
I know there are all kinds of laws governing the cross border sales of different media and that most of those laws are from around World War 2 and kept in place by the lobbyists of powerful multinational media conglomerates, but they are more than an inconvenience to someone who travels a lot, heck some apps will stop working the second your car hits Buffalo b/c it's "almost" Canada, eh?!? No, *really*.
I think it's time for some international netizens' uprising ... My iPAD shouldn't care whether I am currently in Switzerland on holidays, in Hong Kong on a business trip, or going to a funeral in Timbuktu! Of course I now subscribe to a VPN service so each website I visit anywhere in the world will be satisfied with my "National Geography"... even when I'm sitting at home.
But whether it's a widget, an app or some other cute little program I have to "change countries" to use, unless it's absolutely amazing (like this little gem) I end up deleting it again because while VPN connection use has been made foolproof by Apple, changing continents on an minute by minute basis unfortunately wreaks havoc with my browser and all those websites, little programs, etc. that weren't supposed to check on my location but do it anyway... , all of a sudden wanting to provide me with local data giving me the weather in London when I was expecting the early morning Snow-Report for Aspen, CO!
In conclusion: great app 5*, worth the trouble!
