Easy to use

It’s a great app. I took a photo of my coins and CoinID quickly identified them.
Apart from the general info like year of minting, you can see the designer. I googled the designer and it was interesting to trace their style in other coins.
Unfortunately, coin collections aren’t available yet. Hope they’ll appear soon 🙏

Highly recommended!

excellent app for anyone interested in keeping track of their coin collection. CoinID is user-friendly and easy to navigate.

Great app 🙌🏻

I was able to identify almost every coin in my grandpa’s collection. Impressive. Would be great also to give value recommendations and how to sell.

By

Useful app

Good level of identification, nice and clear interface

Paying for a stupid premium!!

CoinID is horrible if you are smart. These people make you pay money to scan your coins. After three tries they make you buy a premium for no ads an dumb stuff. You must pay for the premium to use CoinID. I don’t like this premium stuff. Also they access your pictures. This should be deleted from your phone unless you think your money isn’t worth anything!

Great app to help identifying my fathers collection

I inherited my father’s coin collection? It’s large and seems quite valuable to me but I don’t know anything. So CoinID is helping me a ton!

By

Pay to “play”

I was able to snap photos of about three coins before it wouldn’t let me anymore without buying their subscription. It’s not a hobby of mine, I was just curious about some of my coins, so I’m definitely not going to spend money on this. Other than that, the information on the other ones I got were cool.

SUCH A GOOD APP! I have a lot of 90s coins and this is life changing! You can wonder how much money Is in just one coin! And at the end you can see how much money it all has. So good 👏

By

Doesn’t work

Tried it on a few newer coins and it absolutely could not find them. Then when I tried on a few older coins, it would take the pictures, then ask if I wanted to upgrade to premium, and not identify them. Literally didn’t get a single usable identification from it.

Review

Just getting started with this new app. I downloaded. I will let you know more later about what I think of this coin app.

By

“Concerned” review

So why release an app that isn’t finished? I’m trying your app and this is capturing a 1974 penny when it’s actually a 1944(D)? This is app is useless and they try and get you to buy that premium version. I doubt that the premium version would be any better. Don’t bother downloading CoinID.

Doesn’t work tried to cancel won’t let me

Tried 3 coins Missed all 3 Tried to cancel within 15 minutes from downloading Shows 3 days free still on not canceled Be careful I May have to go to Apple for cancellation

By

Watch out

One of those gatcha apps that slips past you if you aren’t careful after using the free trial. Also, five dollars a week for this? It doesn't actually do anything to “ID” your coins.

By

Doesn’t work

I put a silver dollar that has a date clearly stamped on it and it couldn’t identify it at all. It kept coming up with a 2000 coin. CoinID is junk.

By

Not impressed

Kept giving wrong years and country of origin

By

First Snap... fail

Failed on the first coin i tried, it in a sleeve, not graded, a 1798 silver dollar and CoinID came up with some random half dollar from the 1930s. Doesnt bode well.

By

do not get this app

The free version of CoinID has the dumbest limitations basically forcing you to buy premium. the 3 day free trial is not even worth it like cmon 3 days??

By

Scam

They trick you in to downloading CoinID , then they tell you to sign up pay for their service in order to use CoinID . SCAM.

By

Need lots of improvement

Take 3 days trail and leave…

By

This app doesn’t work

I downloaded CoinID because I got tired of identifying these coins myself and thought maybe this could be a quicker way to do it. Unfortunately it doesn’t even get the year on the coin right. I’m taking clear photos from the newest iPhone camera and every coin I’ve tried it missed either the date or the mint. Your better off going on eBay or an auction site and comparing your coins there. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention roughly 16 ads that popped up trying to get me to pay for the yearly subscription; this was before I got the chance to see it fail miserably on identifying popular collectors quarters from 2000, 2001, and 1966. Really got my hopes up.

By

You need a subscription

To take photos of coins

By

Buyer beware!

Two days into the "Free trial" scam they billed my credit card and signed me up for their $5.99 per WEEK plan.
They planned on getting over $300 per year to look at a few dozen old coins...with the disclaimer that the results may not be accurate? SCAM.
These are the apps that Apple needs to eliminate.

By

Very disappointed

Absolutely no instructions, just keeps telling me to snap the picture, no buttons or information to go on any further. Waste of money don’t bother.

By

Don’t download it

I download and remove from my phone in about 15 minutes, after 3 days at free trial they are charging me 6.52 weekly and I had to contact Apple and I have to wait 48 hours for analysis my case. Apple supposed to remove this scam company from App Store.

By

Misleading

CoinID is kind of a scam. I did the 3 day free trial and thought I could cancel it before the 3 days was up before getting charged for the subscription. Apparently you have to cancel 24 hours before, so it’s very misleading and technically a 2 day free trial.

2023 quarter

Nice app

By

Trash app

Possibly one of the worst apps I've been on, and to make things worse it has a pay wall and automatic renewal, which can use CoinID. I hope to never see this again what year about your company

By

Didn’t work

Even with a clear image CoinID didn’t no the year of the coin even.. just gave a basic description of the type of currency

By

Doesn’t Identify Coin Errors or list them

I wanted this to help me find and identify special coins. This is pretty much a google search. I wanted errors and mistakes and value ranges. Glad I only got a week but it was a complete waste if money. 2 mins in and realized my mistake. I can read the coin and do a google image search and create a photo gallery for myself for free.

By

If at first you don’t succeed try again

After I wrote my first review, I went back to using CoinID and it’s working much better now, I guess is a matter of learning how to deal with it.

By

Doesn’t work and I can’t cancel

Only shows a wide range of what years it could be. I just grabbed some quarters out of my wallet so they are not even rare. I have a new iPhone and in a well lit area. Also having problems canceling. I am sure the cancel problem is an Apple thing. I’m trying to reach them. Wish I didn’t have to cancel. I thought this would be pretty cool.

By

I must be the luckiest guy around because every coin is worth more

I downloaded and paid for this application to see if I had any valued coins in a 5gal water bottle I had filled over the years and apparently every coin I have is worth more then the face value of the coins. Not sure I’m buying into it.

By

Great

This is a great app it’s got everything for searching your coin collectors for beginners especial for who is just learning. Coin collecting is a large search and learning about because its a massive information deta to Search. It’s a great hobby if you have a lot of time!
Love the snap and search camera option. Not all apps have it and this one is free.

Glitch in system

I was opening up CoinID for the first time and I tried scanning my 1923 S wheat reverse penny, but it showed me a standard 2023 D penny instead. I tried refreshing, and uninstalling and reinstalling CoinID , but unfortunately the error persisted. Please fix this issue because I was hoping to get more out of my money.

By

Does not work

I tried CoinID to help me identify old coins. CoinID identified the first coin successfully. Wonderful! However, in order to ID the other coins, I was required to pay for a subscription. After this point, CoinID could not ID any other coin, not even a U.S. dime. About 8 minutes later, I canceled the subscription because it seemed like a scam. My credit card was billed one week later. I am filing a police report.

By

A refund

Hi I had just downloaded CoinID and my Face ID had gone off and I purchased a subscription on accident could you please send my money back it was a mistake and I think CoinID is very cool id just like to look into it more before subscribing

By

Awful

First of all, it didn’t even get my coin right (or even close to right) and it’s a 1905 Indian head penny (clear as day the picture was) and it only gives you generic info, which you can find online. Also, when I went to type in the name of my coin it didn’t even recognize it! Waste of time,

By

Coin collection

I am excited I have a few I have found and don’t know much want to learn

By

Not accurate

I got CoinID because the reviews were so good. I tried it on a 1999 walking liberty and all I could get is was minted in 2021. I couldn’t even get the value of the wrong coin. Not really helpful paid for one year of app so I promptly went and closed subscription get me once and shame on you get me twice and shame on me

By

Coin scanner app

Works good once you have a black background and proper light.

By

Is anybody else having luck. I added lighting lol. No luck

App doesn’t identify correct coins. I’m not sure why it’s failing to recognize coins even though the pictures are clear. Seems like it’s for entertainment and not facts. It’s kinda entertaining because it hits and miss but not looking for entertainment.

By

Ive been waiting 20 minuted just to finish loading

It really happened

By

Doesn’t work

The identifier comes back with completely different coins if it happens to come back with the correct denomination of coin, it gives a range of 20 years and no specifics about it, and just identified that I had a quarter within a 25 year span, nothing about it🤷🏼‍♂️ I could tell it was a quarter with the naked eye and no coin collecting skills

By

Zero stars

If I could give CoinID zero stars, I would. I used CoinID and deleted it because I found it was no use to me. After deleting it, about two or three days later, I found that CoinID Store was trying to charge me for CoinID that I deleted. Nothing more needs to be said, except that fortunately my old credit card info was in and I’m glad that it was.

Coin ID

It's a nice app, however, none of the platforms I've seen are incoroporating flaws or identifying extra special coins with flaws that could be worth hundreds or even thousands of dollars. I want an app that tells me why my 1909 wheat penny is worth hundreds of dollars and in the same token, why it wouldn't be a “rare find.” Great app nonetheless! It’s just, if I’m gonna pay for an app, it having the potential to pay me back would be outstanding!

By

Awesome : Olivia

I love it it is so useful. Instead of having to search up how much a certain point is, I can just take a picture of both sides, and know almost the exact amount it 💲 cost 😃

By

Cool app but not reliable.

This is a good app to identify coins but I suggest you scan the coins a few times. I scanned about a hundred, put the ones CoinID said were worth something off to the side. Went back and scanned them again and a completely different valuation came back for a good majority of them. Makes me wonder what it missed.

By

20 minutes of frustration

20 minutes just trying to identify one US penny from 1918. Capture feature didn’t seem to work after multiple attempts, now with photo after photo on my camera app. Finally it works and I get some coin from ancient Egypt. Not sure I have enough patience to figure out if I can make CoinID work, but I paid money, so I’ll try for another half hour or so.
