Don't try placing pickup orders through KuraSushiRewards . KuraSushiRewards is completely unresponsive and when it does work I can scroll for a split second then it'll stop working again. Not convenient at all as I can't even scroll through the menu items. Let alone add them to the cart to checkout. So frustrating.

I had 400+ points under my old account. When I Migrated to this new app it brought over those points but with the first receipt I scanned my points went to 17. What why??

On top of that I made a mistake and didn’t update the year on my birthday and now it says it is going to delete my account because I’m in violation of their TOS and I can’t fix it in KuraSushiRewards . My only recourse is to file a complaint.

KuraSushiRewards is garbage, I’ll be calling the restaurant tomorrow to see what I can do to fix this.

I liked KuraSushiRewards better when you can see what number you are in line. It’s frustrating not knowing if they are taking in customers in order or just taking people randomly. Also, what is the point of KuraSushiRewards if after joining the waitlist, I still have to check the status through a text message that takes me to a different website?!

The order experience is horrible. App does not respond when Swiping up/down. Or it just takes a very long time to refresh. KuraSushiRewards needs improvement on responsiveness.

Someone needs to retest KuraSushiRewards before release. Why do i have to “Reload” every time I move from one tab to another. It takes me about 15 minutes to order about 4 or 5 items. Its really not acceptable!

I eat here quite often and the rewards only give you $5 off coupons that expire within a month and you can only use 2 at a time. Nice to get a slight discount on a regular $75 to $100 bill but it’s pretty useless overall. It’d be nice if you could choose a discount based on your rewards points accumulated. I currently have 7 $5 rewards I’d have to go 4 times to use in 20 days.

Downloading the new app and using my email somehow caused my device be recognized as an unknown device by Google gmail. I use my email daily on my device and have never been prompted to have to recover my email because gmail doesn’t recognize my device. I am now unable to access my gmail on my device all together. KuraSushiRewards tampered with my phone!

I cannot order or even look at the menu from KuraSushiRewards because it’s really slow. When I scroll it will not move till full minute or longer. I also feel like they do not update the menu as often. Items will show out of stock but they have it at the restaurant.

The new app doesn’t work at all for me. I can no longer log in even after resetting my password, I just get error messages. Before this issue KuraSushiRewards always ran very slow. I hope they fix it because the restaurant really is super fun to go to their app just isn’t functional

Took 15 minutes to download, no WI-FI in Plano store. If you're so forward thinking why no customer WI-FI? At first use no transfer of previous purchases or ability to scan bill (Try Later) Maybe I try later to pay. New and improved Really?
Lost a good customer over this poor attempt to upgrade.

i’d rather get ran over than try to order off of KuraSushiRewards again. it freezes constantly, making it so you can’t swipe through the whole menu until 20 mins later. it’s built for only the most patient ppl alive. there’s a refresh button for the ordering page but it doesn’t work. if you refresh KuraSushiRewards it’ll rid of your entire order and you have to manually add the food in again. worst app i’ve ever used, i used doordash instead.

I joined the waitlist from home and left to be in time for the estimated table but then I have to check in for my waitlist. When you get a text confirmation, it doesn’t say anything about this, just “We’ll tell you when your table is nearly ready”. Nothing about check in still which is frustrating. Stood outside for 15 minutes before I noticed other people checking in and then I was 10th on the waitlist. Very frustrating system. Seems kinda pointless

KuraSushiRewards cannot be used to order if you hope to scroll through the menu. There seems to be a memory leak or errant miscalculation upon display of the menu that disallows scrolling past nigiri section. If you're lucky, you might be able to search for specific items and add them to your order, but I have never gotten past that point before the return to the menu freezes the rest of the UI out.

As you can't make reservations at locations the old app allowed them, I've decided to just give up on the entire franchise.

Mutenmaru needs more plates; he will no longer be receiving them from me.

The food itself is amazing.

KuraSushiRewards is a disaster. Constant lagging & drain my battery like crazy. Even small orders takes at least 10 minutes because of the lag. Not only that, sometimes my order gets canceled randomly, so I’d have to spend another 10 minutes re-ordering everything.

Just a little advice, you can’t do anything about the lag, at least have a “save order” function of something. So people can come back and finish their order after scraping up more patience.

Trying to place a pickup order is nearly impossible. It is very slow on loading and scrolling half a centimeter at a time makes ordering unbearable. KuraSushiRewards may also be inaccurate. Many items are listed as Out Of Stock on KuraSushiRewards . But while dining in, I started a mock pick up order. The items that were “out of stock” were on the conveyer belt and I was also able to order it on the touch screen and it was sent to my table. There much room for improvement with KuraSushiRewards . I how the devs see this review.

KuraSushiRewards is TRASH! I loved this place but since converted over to this new app I’ve been unable to log in and migrate my points. I’ve tried calling the store for app support and they told me use the same credentials (which I did), delete the old app (which I did), delete the new app and try again (and did) and nothing worked. I asked if they had any other way for me to join the wait list and they told me no. I refuse to wait 1 hr 30 mins at the store. I have hundreds of points and was a loyal customer. THEY HAVE LOST ME NOW! SMH

Like the title says, it is completely impossible to use KuraSushiRewards to order sushi for pickup or delivery. The other low star recent reviews are accurate. It lags unbelievably hard to the point where the screen is completely frozen for 20 seconds at a time and eventually becomes completely unresponsive. Just tried 5 SEPARATE times to order something for my birthday and had to give up completely. Payment will not process through the desktop website either. Complete and utter garbage. Does this restaurant not want money or what?

If I could give this 0 stars, I would. The interface looks pleasing, but trying to load anything takes forever, Not only that, but it reloads the entire page at random intervals, forcing you out of the menu. The menu is also a pain to navigate, as it won't let you scroll down until the image below has finished loading, which is poorly optimized. It took 20 minutes for me to be able to view the whole menu, and that's after an hour of failed attempts from it reloading while I was reading. Garbage app.

Very easy to earn rewards but then they expire within twenty days. KuraSushiRewards should let you keep your points until you are ready to redeem them.

KuraSushiRewards is incredibly slow, it placed my order at a different location, and sent me 26 emails about the order.

There isn’t a way, a clear way at least, to add a coupon to an online order.

Very frustrating to actually redeem coupons from severs. I had an issue with Russell at the Irvine location in which he refused to scan coupons on a split bill, despite us asking before hand to bill us separately

The restaurant is fantastic. KuraSushiRewards, not so much. Constantly reloads, can look at the menu before it bugs and sends you back to the main page.

The old app wasn’t great either, but was at least usable. Hopefully some updates will help in the future.

KuraSushiRewards is honestly so slow. It took me about 30 minutes to put my order in. I had given up in previous attempts but I wanted to see how long it would actually take this third time. Please fix this. I feel like I’m waiting for a MySpace page to load in 2005.

KuraSushiRewards, while pretty, makes it nearly impossible to actually place a pickup order. It takes forever to load the menu, then it’s extremely slow to scroll - then it just stops functioning all together. Please fix this

As others have said this new app is trash 🗑️ 👎 & has *serious* performance issues. On an iPhone 13 + iOS16.X (plenty of processing power!) it would regularly take 5-10 seconds to acknowledge a tap, & when on the menu it would take 30s to scroll because KuraSushiRewards blocks till the image below loads, eventually KuraSushiRewards would completely lock up 🤦 Old app was better, at least it worked! What’s worse is my local store refuses take an order over the phone saying one has to order via KuraSushiRewards to get points. C’mon it shouldn’t be this hard!

The restaurant is phenomenal, but KuraSushiRewards feels ancient. The takeout option is soooo slow at loading it makes navigating impossible. Japan has no takeout culture, but the USA is all about takeout! More takeout doesn’t mean less of the Kura experience, you just need to cater to two different types of consumers here. If you want to increase sales in America, Kura needs to step up its takeout game.

Be aware if you have used the previous app and have had two people or devices connected to the same account that this configuration is no longer permitted.

The downgraded functionality means my wife and I can’t use the same account in KuraSushiRewards .

While it may be harsh to downgrade KuraSushiRewards for disabling useful features, this one seems particularly short-sighted on the part of the product team.

It means we’ll only use KuraSushiRewards when we are going together and not when I am going to lunch with co-workers.

It feels like the product team have no idea how people actually use technology as a family.

Boo.

Fix this.

i understand that this is a marketing and retention ploy, but having points expire so quickly is really really annoying. i don't even use KuraSushiRewards in store anymore because i know i'm not going to be able to use the points anyway. not everyone has the money or time to go to kura every few weeks, and it feels a bit unfair and discouraging to know that my loyalty is on a ticking clock.

the waitlist function is also weirdly convoluted, i'm not sure why i need to check in after already having added myself to the waitlist. i usually end up waiting an extra ten minutes after checking in which is annoying.

i do appreciate being able to know what events and collabs are happening! and i really appreciate the infrequency of notifications. i don't feel spammed by KuraSushiRewards which is a huge deal for me.

KuraSushiRewards used to work. Yesterday, after I get into KuraSushiRewards , it kept complaining about no network access. So I deleted KuraSushiRewards and re-installed from App Store, and now all KuraSushiRewards does is to show the splash screen with “loading your experience…” at the bottom and nothing else happens.

Unrelatedly, on KuraSushiRewards Support link in KuraSushiRewards Store, it brings me to webpage where I fill in all the details and pick a photo to upload a screenshot, but the submit button constantly brings up error message “How can we reach you? field [sic] is required” and “The Upload Attachment field is required” despite already selecting a photo to upload and all other fields with my contact info are filled in and there wasn’t any field specifically named to indicate “how to reach me”

It was great that the old all allowed you to add your scan code to Apple Wallet. It’s a shame that this functionality was taken away. Please bring it back.

KuraSushiRewards forces you to redeem your $5 off rewards once you've hit 500 points, then forces it to expire in 3 weeks, making you perpetually need to go back to make full use of the rewards. This is terrible for people who live 1+ hrs away and still want to take advantage of the rewards, but don't want to have to come every 3 weeks.

Downloaded KuraSushiRewards since there is Kura near me now. It worked great the first day I used it, but now that I have points loaded on my profile, it gives me an oops error and nothing loads anymore. Saying there is no internet connection when I have WiFi connection and tried with 5G and still doesn’t work. Horrible app!! You def need to rethink KuraSushiRewards.

Fix KuraSushiRewards ~~App is terrible ~~~ Very slow and lags a lot. Ordering on KuraSushiRewards took forever because the screen constantly freezes. I don’t like the point system….shows how much money Ive spent and wasted~~lol
Food is good enough, prices are all right as well. Spider hand rolls are pretty good here~~~

I love their Nigri sushi here and especially the salmon and tuna options. I’ve been eating sushi in Gwinnett for about 15 years and this place just opened right near my house at the mall of Georgia compared to the other revolving sushi restaurants in the area. this one is definitely the best.

I just downloaded the new app and it’s not sending me the verification email despite email being correct and requesting it at least 5 times. I also don’t see any way to join waitlist. Maybe some new release bugs?

I went here twice and it was fabulous but the last time I went after a 3 hour wait there was almost no food coming out. We had to resort to ordering on the tough screen and even that took a long time. Hard to say how often that will be the situation.

I’ve been to an establishment kind of like this in Tyson‘s corner mall in Virginia when I saw this Restaurant was coming to Polaris I was super excited and finally had a chance to get there today. My friend and I had a great experience. The food was delicious. The service & explanations of how it all worked was so helpful. I can’t wait to go back
