I keep trying to put text and my Lock Screen but it doesn’t stay
I put my spouses phone number on my screen, I left my phone at a bar and the bartender saw it and called him! We didn’t even know I had left it behind!
I set the format to be center justification…
Regardless of the setting I choose…. The text box is LEFT JUSTIFIED.
Trying to add custom text to homepage, no instructions showing how it’s done
**Thanks for getting back to me. I now know how to enter text. Much appreciated.
Even after reading the directions on AnyTextWidgets numerous times, adding a specific widget you want is not clear. I find it adds the next widget in the sequence. Why? I have no idea. It seems you have to add a blank widget then go back and tap on it to enter text in order to have the widget display the correct text. The sequencing is not clear in the directions.
AnyTextWidgets is good, only wish you could right or center align and more fonts :)
Works great! Would love some more fonts and sizing options in the future.
Back with another banger
Perfect app, no fluff or random useless features. I much prefer this over motivational quote apps - you can keep it nice and simple as a motivation should be.
AnyTextWidgets is sophisticated, it’s easy to use, and it has great directions. Plus, it’s free and has no ads.
The markdown formatting is a unique feature that I feel makes AnyTextWidgets stand out. Simple to use, and has just the right balance of options/usability.
AnyTextWidgets is great, and it gets everything that I want it to done. but, I have some custom fonts installed on my phone that I would like to use, and it doesn’t seem to support them. Is there anyway you can add this?
AnyTextWidgets is fantastic. I hike in the mountains a lot, where data connectivity is often unavailable, and the built-in weather widgets become entirely useless. I use Sindre’s Actions app to periodically cache weather data when available, and Any Text to permanently display weather conditions on my Lock Screen, including both sunrise and sunset together. Except for some documented issues with delayed display updates, it’s been great! Thanks!
I have ADHD, and I have difficulty remembering to do small tasks and AnyTextWidgets (in particular the widget for the home screen) helps a TON. It’s super easy to write down new things and it’s very simple too.
I'm not a fan of using widgets but this is a game changer! I'm a logophile (word lover) linguistics and very interested in typography. AnyTextWidgets is so simple and fun to use for my words I make up and random phrase doodlings. Thank you app developer 💌
I use it for seeing words I'm adding to my vocabulary, with definition. Current word – otiose :)
Thanks Sindre
I think AnyTextWidgets is great. However, some reason I cannot get the entire name to show up which is so disappointing.
Downloaded AnyTextWidgets and make my name appears when my phone is in Lock Screen mode! Simple and easy. Thanks!
I use this to set daily intentions! It is simple, elegant, and user-friendly. Just what I was searching for. THANK YOU! A watch widget would be icing on the cake :)
The widgets help organize my Home Screen a whole lot. I’d definitely recommend AnyTextWidgets to anyone. My one suggestion is adding custom widget backgrounds. This could be nice for quotes, and, if someone wants a “transparent” widget, they could add a section of their wallpaper to it.
Also, but not as necessary, maybe add the ability to edit the widget directly with “Edit Widget”. This I imagine could potentially have the ability to let people have unlimited widgets.
Love AnyTextWidgets so much and don’t really have any issues with it but i was wondering if we would ever be able to change the color of “Any text” under the widgets or if there was a way we could do it
This is a great app that does exactly what it says it will do. I would have happily paid a dollar or two but am delighted it’s free.
Tip: When I first installed it, the widget wouldn’t show underneath the clock. A restart of my iPhone fixed it.
Exactly what I needed
I used this to add an “if found” message to my Lock Screen. AnyTextWidgets does what it says it does, working around the many Apple-imposed limitations where possible. Fantastic job with AnyTextWidgets!
Fantastic app that does what it says it would do, without any pesky ads. I use this everyday to remind myself of affirmations in my life. One feature I would suggest (which many others probably also find useful) is the ability to cycle between different texts everyday or every hour, so we can remind ourselves of many different things.
Might be the first time I’ve written a review in a decade. AnyTextWidgets is perfect. Does its job, and does it really well.
In the throes of grieving, I found AnyTextWidgets. It has proved to be unexpectedly helpful to have a simple little reminder — “🙏 ❤️” — gray and subtle, on the top of the lock screen. Thank you.
I like that it allows multiple widgets
Finally can add text to my Lock Screen
Super useful app. One feature request: Can we have an option to have no action on tap?
Very useful app to set a “If found, please return to …” or an “In case of emergency, please call…” message on the Lock Screen.
There’s a place for you in heaven. The apps I found before this one were so clunky and gross and greedy. This was exactly what I wanted. You’re a legend! Thank you!
This little app is fantastic, as are all of Sindre’s apps. Thank you!
Only missing functionality is Apple Watch widgets. Sindre, any chance this can be updated with Apple Watch widgets?
Don’t bother with any other so-called Lock Screen widgets. For free it Puts your notes on the Lock Screen 👍🏼 No need to unlock your phone to see your to-do list ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finally, a way to put your simple reminders on not only the Home screen, but also the LOCK screen!
AnyTextWidgets is great. LOVE IT!
Would be even more awesome if we could go four wide on the lock screen widget, but 2 wide might be an Apple limit.
Would also be great to be able to have multiple messages and rotate them in the same lock screen widget so we see a series of messages regularly instead of just one.
Thanks for AnyTextWidgets! It’s wonderful… and I am
SUPER thankful there are developers that exist who don’t collect data. That AnyTextWidgets doesn’t collect my data is what got me to download it!
This is a super app for adding text to the iPhone lock screen. It is flexible, sophisticated in its appearance, and easy to use. It’s also free! It allows me to put information on my lock screen in case my phone is lost. I use multiple text boxes, one for my email address, and another for a friend to call if my iPhone is found. It can also link to apps in various ways. Many thanks to the developer!
Just a perfect little utility app. Does exactly what I needed and does it well. I’m using a shortcut to fetch some data, process it in chatgpt, and then show it in the Widget. Just couldn’t be simpler. So good!

Put a single piece of important text on your Lock Screen so you won't miss it.
For example, you could use an automation to change the text at a certain point in the day or at certain places.
In the rectangular widget, the text adjusts to the available space.
You can simply tap the widget to open the app to edit the text.
It could be an important note, your goal, a list of tasks, etc.
