W City Builder BUT

As someone who has been waiting for this game for years and playing city builders for as long as I can remember I can confidently say that the developers didn’t disappoint with this project however that don’t mean they don’t have room for improvement overall. I do feel like the beginning of the game is ungodly boring and the amount of energy is just simply not enough to the average player trying to clean up the world. By the time I clean up this entire world I will be 80 years old. (Even if I spend gems on energy). ANOTHER problem I experienced in this game is that there is not enough buildings and items from the SpongeBob World. Even if there was you couldn’t possibly ever place them down till your about 50 years old in real life from all the trash in the world you gotta clear up from the garbage 50 energy cap we have. The only way to clear it up is wiring your bank account to the team xD

Game got more crappy as days pass

Keeps wanting me to turn on notifications in settings and opens it that’s annoying. They just added a season pass that goes for 3 weeks, 5 dollars is to much while fortnite is 10 solars and goes for months and has better rewards and you get to buy next season pass for free if you grind. Otherwise I’m playing better games and another season pass that’s crap compared to Disney speed storm, my hero ultra rumble and fortnite. They charging a lot for a game with no voices ether. They could if dubbed the game like simpsons tap out which the character has voice lines when taping them or make them do stuff. Also this game makes money with adds. Makes game feel like a rip off when they throwing more cash grabs at you. They should pay me for the hours spent playing and wasting my life. They could of release the ranking event, season pass, 2 week event at the start. To give players an idea of how bad it is. Guess off to better games. This was fun as it lasted. Probably one of the worst games I played.

Best game! 🐊

Sure there may be lag, but it’s also very fun and entertaining for young people and other types. I’ve been loving SpongeBob ever since and this has been the first time that’s been helping me over “SpongeBob moves in” or something like that.

The only problem is that you need to collect energy to continue progressing and moving on. But spending gems may save your life unless you do something stupid like that. But still entertaining and very good! And the only other problem thing is that you need wifi in order to play. But that’s seemingly very fair. (Hope there aren’t any bugs though) :3

Amazing story and gameplay

Some reviews may tell you getting energy takes a long time, however not only is the recharge rate fairly quick, throughout the game there is many ways that are introduced to you for you to be able to gain energy quicker and sooner, on top of this, most or all quests/missions have references/tie ins to the show and are fun and unique, even though you could spend thousands of dollars on energy to play forever, the free to play play-style is extremely viable, also I got a cool avatar for beta sign up >:)

By

Eh

I love SpongeBob but I feel like my review is much needed for this game. There are WAY too many items you need to use energy to remove and they cost WAY too much energy to do so. Not even to unlock new area, but just to clear up space so it looks organized or so you can place something there. There’s also almost nothing to do except clear items and do some quests but some of the quests (even early in the game) require so much energy that there’s almost nothing to do at all expect keep checking the game every hour for a stamina refill. Please add some game modes or something. This game will die incredibly fast if there’s not any changes to stamina.

Needs an energy rework

Love this game, but my only complaint is you earn energy to slow and when exploring the map, you hardly get any either. I wouldn’t recommend spending money on diamonds either because you don’t get enough for your moneys worth. If they can fix those two issues, the game is perfect. In my opinion if you like these kind of games.

Good game but not enough enerrgy

I have enjoyed this game so far, but I have 1 major critique; you are not given enough energy. I feel that it needs to be made to where you are either given more energy, maybe 100 could be the full bar, or the things around the landscape take less energy to get rid of. One on my map right now costs 37. That's over 2/3 of my energy. At that point you have to play the game a shorter amount of time because yes you can get energy through the candy cart thingy, but it's not like you have enough candy to be doing it every hour you play.

I know it just came out BUT

I’ve been waiting for this game to get released forever now. I love the concept and the storyline is like the show. I played for a few hours and I found some bugs and maybe some feedback. (I know it got put out today) * very hard to get energy. * things take forever to grow or produce. * jellyfish won’t eat (I have 7 jellyfish food) but it’s not registering so I keep making more and more for it to be used but it looks like my inventory is just growing. *all items won’t show up in my inventory * things cost a lot to collect. I’m super excited to see where this game goes and the cool updates you guys will do. Thank you

Energy too low, not enough play time

Graphics are great and vibrant. The concept of the game is nothing new but since playing the SpongeBob cook off for years I was looking forward to something new.

Although, the time I spend playing at one time is not enough because the energy goes by too fast. I average about 10 minutes of actual play and another 5 trying to see how I can get more energy.

It costs too much energy to remove any debris or rocks or plants. The energy being capped at ‘50’, too, is too little. The ‘snacks’ are never enough to recharge. The snacks either don’t contain enough energy or I don’t have enough snacks because, again, it costs too much to remove debris and that’s the main way to get snacks. Even to buy energy is too much $ knowing how quickly it will go.

I hope we can extend play time, otherwise, it’s a game I’ll forget about and only play sparingly.

By

Not enough energy to make game fun.

Clearly they do not give you enough energy to make this game at all enjoyable. Click on two rocks and you have used up all the energy you have. This needs to be adjusted so that you can do more to enjoy the game and for it to hold your interest for more than a minute or two at a time.
Like the game, this just needs to be adjusted or you spend more time closing the game and waiting for your energy to build back up to clear another rock. Please fix.

An Improved Version of a Previous SpongeBob game

This game reminds me of another SpongeBob farming/building type game that was out a few years ago and I had played. It was discontinued a few years ago. I like it and think the developers did a good job. It is a good, slower-paced game to pass the time 👍🏼

By

Good relaxing game but …

I like the game except the cost to remove one rock takes up all your energy including some seaweed . You only get 45 energy and there some that cost over one hundred energy it’s like the developers are forcing you to pay and for a decent amount of energy (100) is 100$ and I’m not going to spend that kind of money on a game that removing one barrier will take up all or even more of your energy

By

Bug fixes

I love this game however, it won’t let me continue playing. I’m still at the beginning and just unlocked the energy cart and the jellyfish fields. It won’t let me continue the game and freezes because I don’t have any candy bars to put into the energy cart. I’ve deleted and restarted the game plenty of times. I can’t even restart the entire game because it keeps going to where I left off in the game. Very very sad!!

By

Energy to slow

First every time you open game it take you to settings to turn on notifications if you have it turned off. Kind of rude. Somethings feel over priced in the game. No voice overs is a let down or catch phrase to characters just a wall of text during story. Game play is to similar to other games making game boring in the long term.

Added a season pass that does for 3 weeks for 5 dollars. A mail deliver guy leaderboard. And everything is over priced. Glad I didn’t spend money after seeing the greed finally come out.

By

Energy Needs Fixed

I really like this game however the energy is such a pain! We need at least 100 to start with or the actions need to cost lower. I shouldn’t do 1-2 actions and then have to close the game. I know you can buy the energy but it’s not worth the money honestly. I’d rather just not play than pay to play. There are some “power up” ways but they aren’t worth it because in order to collect the items to get energy you need to use energy to collect the items.

By

Need energy rework

I really want to enjoy this game! It is overall very pretty and looks like a SpongeBob game should. HOWEVER, my biggest complaint is the amount of energy is used for doing anything. I can only break two rocks and I am out of energy. I can only play for 2 minutes not even at a sitting. I really enjoy the game otherwise.

By

Amazing Game

Absolutely Love SpongeBob! Been watching it for years!!! And I'm very picky on when they make a SpongeBob game. Most of them end up failing. I'm hoping the creators and developers of this game will keep it updated and going good! So far I'm absolutely enjoying my time playing it and it is so worth downloading!

By

best SpongeBob game

I played the previous SpongeBob game, which is good. But this new one has really great art, I like the maps we are exploring, especially the theme park one, I wish it is the third map. I would like to see more events and am very excited to unlock new chapters.

By

Fascinating

I just got this game yesterday & it’s already so addicting I love the details it has & graphics although I wish the boosts to clean up the bikini bottom wouldn’t waste so much or require so much of them but overall it’s amazing

By

So far not so good

I’m not even that far into the game and already plagued with the horrible energy consumption. I want to play a game not have energy that is horribly unbalanced and random and stops me cold unless I pay money. Like a little flower takes 18 energy to remove. A big item took 7. But the same bigger debri then costs 22 or 25? What??!! Energy is the worst thing to have in games. Money grab. SpongeBob moves in was better.

•NOT GIVING 5 STARS UNTIL• Energy Fix Update

This is by far THE BEST SpongeBob “Town Builder Sim” game I have ever played. This is why it hurts that we’re still having the same problems we did on these games 10+ yrs ago. Energy bars! These mobile games want you to play like you work for them. Log on once every 30 minutes to click on three things and then log off. I wouldn’t have an issue with that if it didn’t restrict you from progressing after that point. I understand invisible progression walls. But there’s a difference between playing a mobile game for a healthy amount of time. Compared to restricting the player from progression seemingly by accident. I’m currently in Jellyfish fields. (Which seems like a common ground problem for a lot of people.) They want me to save Garry from a pit of Jelly. That all fine. Until they want you to make a glass jar using 6 of these white rocks. That wouldn’t be a problem if the energy bar wasn’t locked to 50 energy. If it takes 45 energy to break the rock. You would need to log on every 30 minutes to break A ROCK. Then log off right away. Since you of course can’t do anything at all after. You can see how that would be irritating. There have been hundreds of complaints since this game came out over a year ago. This has been an ongoing issue in the mobile gaming community for over 10 years. Fix YOUR GAME

By

Energy system is messed up

So basically one of the main parts of this game is cleaning up Bikini Bottom and other locations. That means removing debris, jelly, kelp, rocks, etc. In order to do this, you must spend your energy. Every item on the map has an energy price to clear it. For example, to remove a wilted kelp, it costs three energy. To remove a single flower off the ground inexplicably costs 35 energy, while a giant rock only costs 27. Why is this an issue? Well, the energy you can regenerate is capped at 50. If you earn bonus energy, you can go beyond this limit, but if you spend all your energy and then walk away for an hour, the most you can get back is 50. There are missions in this game that require you to remove items that cost 45 energy. So imagine having to do that three times to complete a mission. That means you wait an hour to remove one item, then you have to wait another hour to do it again. It is painfully slow progress. I give it two stars because the game has a lot of potential to be fun, but they need to either raise the energy cap, or significantly lower the energy cost of some of these items to improve the pacing.

Worst “Freemium” game

I have spent only about 3 hours in the game but have already reached a point where I basically have to spend money or else wait several hours to do anything. This game requires you to harvest resources from the environment but the amount of energy required varies and doesn’t make a lot of sense. I’m currently at a point where I need 18 of a resource that requires 45 REAL LIFE MINUTES worth of energy to acquire 2 of these resources. The energy meter only fills up to 50, so when I use 45 energy to acquire 2 resources, I can’t do anything else for awhile until my energy refills.

I was hoping they would offer a starter pack between $0.99 and $4.99 because I would absolutely be willing to purchase something like that if it included exploding pies and gems and energy, but unfortunately the cheapest starter deal is $6.99 and basically would only allow me to do a few actions (literally less than 5 minutes of gameplay) with the included items.

I don’t even know if this can be considered a game rather than a cash grab. None of the bundles add enough value to the game and the game is almost impossible to play without spending money. It’s just really sad to see this on a game targeted at kids.

By

Needs more energy

Game is very fun to play. However, majority of the resources you need requires 18+ energy when you only start with 50. Which takes FOREVER to fill back up! Then when you do farm resources you barley get anything from it. Once you leave Jellyfish fields to go to another area such as the city, you CANNOT go back to jellyfish fields to get any resources there etc. It will be closed off 48hrs and after that you still can’t go back to the area. Since there is barley any energy or resources when you try to get some, it makes it very hard to clean/ clear out areas in order to put buildings so you can progress in the game. On top of that with the billboard, they’re will occasionally be an option to watch an add for jems yet after you watch the video (even after multiple times), it still wouldn’t give me jems like it’s supposed to. I love the game but there’s a lot of improving that needs to happen. The thing that annoys me most is that every time I launch SpongeBobAdventures and it’s loading it will take me to my settings !!!! I’ve NEVER EVER had an app or game do this !

By

Horrendous “energy” concept

The game is addictive, but in all the wrong ways! To collect items you use “energy”, and get one unit of energy per minute, up to 50. There may be 300 different things to collect per map, and as you progress, each item costs more and more. For where I’m at, it costs 45 “energy” to collect one little thing (so it takes 45 minutes to be able to do the smallest task). There are other methods of getting “energy” but they simply aren’t sufficient to make any progress in the game. It’s quite fun to unlock new things but you literally have to watch ads (which is ok but you only get 15 “energy”) or pay to make ANY PROGRESS in this game. I sincerely believe this game was created to be a money trap and I simply can’t believe it was even designed for children.

They EASILY could have made the energy limit be 250+ and had the same user engagement. But instead they decided to torture users by making them wait and wait and wait and wait for literally nothing to happen. I’d be shocked if the average person had this downloaded on their phone for more than four days because it’s SO DELETABLE!!!!!

Lots of room for improvement

Right now I rate it in the middle, could be a lot better, but still a great game overall. Energy is an issue. Clearing one item will wipe out your energy and you’ll get nothing in return. I would suggest maybe a countdown rather than clearing the item in a snap, bring the energy for it WAAAY down. If you want to clear it faster, obviously you can use gems or coins. Also, the 50 energy cap has got to increase. I know there are other ways to get energy but the payout of them is not very balanced.

The game just came out but it has a lot of potential. Just please do not let the game get greedy. Simpsons and Family Guy have massively tanked over the years, a lot of it is due to wanting money for almost nothing. I’m not ready to drop $5 on a pack that really isn’t worth it. Lowering prices could actually bring in more money.

Energy needs an overhaul

Game looks great and plays nice but as many other players have mentioned you get bogged down in game play because it costs so much energy to remove debris to even place a building down. Yes there are a few ways to make more energy- a game that you can play and a candy machine but that only lets me remove one to two rocks and I’m back to square one. There needs to be a better balance - as it stands I can only play around 10 mins at a time before being at a forced stand still waiting for energy.

Costs about $5 to buy ONE explosive pie with diamonds that will clear a decent amount of debris. Can we implement something where you can earn a pie on occasion through a quest ? I like the game, don’t mind spending some cash to play but I do feel it leans heavily on frustrating you into purchasing to do simple game play.

No energy caps?

It’s a fun game. I enjoy it truly. But once you hit an hour or two, the game becomes the waiting game. When you level up you get your energy maxed, but like most of these kinds of games that give you a bigger max cap, this game sticks you at 50. And the use of energy is insane. Most things require 30-45 energy. So you can guess what I’m getting at. Sure they have a few mini game things to give you more energy, but that still only gives you about 5 minutes more of gameplay. I do want to enjoy this game on my days off/breaks, but there’s just to much waiting :(. Please fix this issue as I’ve seen it’s a huge complaint! At least at more max energy when you level up, as it makes much more since to do that.

By

Love it so far

Been playing for a few days and I like it. The battery charge I think is a bit low only having 50, as some debris needs more like 75 to rid of it. The different ways to get batteries does help a tad bit. I dont mind too much as I enjoy the mini game. (Little thing) I have noticed something tho, the benches you fix in the game. I had put them in storage so I could have room to place a building. When I went back to the game the benches were back In their place with jam back on them. But when I place them(the ones in storage) some where, the jam benches vanish. Im not too bothered by this, was just confused about it. Keep up the good work and would love to see more improvements and updates of the game.

I’ve Always Been A Spongebob fan !! love It !

Fidget thing SpongeBob is one of the best cartoons growing up in the 90s and my kids now still enjoy it as much as I did and still do now ! First of all of the best features in this game is that it DOESNT HAVE ADDS !! yes no stupid adds to interupt you while playing or force you to watch before giving an reward but hear me out there or adds where u will have to watch if you willingly want to earn rewards like stars, jars, etc. but it’s really satisfying to build my city without any interuptios from the outside world. The graphics are extremely pleasent and the colors are refined to a high quality prefix. 💛
BEST GAME IN 2023💛💛💛

Love it, but…

I really love this game. It’s super cute & fun. However, I only got to level 6 & have to wait for energy. I’m spending a few minutes of play & hours of waiting to play a few minutes again. You must pay to play. I don’t mind paying money to get lots of extras & progress further. However, I can stand the fact that you can’t play without paying for energy. This is not how you get loyal players. A game that the developers should look at is Sarah’s Adventure, it’s similar in expanding & such, but you don’t have to pay to play. I do spend about a hundred bucks a month on that game for extra decorations & such. But energy is plentiful & regenerates fast. I’m deleting the Sponge Bob game. I will check back in the future to see if this issue is addressed & fixed.

By

Unbalanced

I think the game js entertaining but I feel like it’s pretty unbalanced. You can use all of your energy pulling a kelp within 2 seconds and have to wait for more energy… so it really feels like you are making no progress. I never clear out bikini bottom because it’s too expensive and it prevents me from getting any further in the story. Also, it feels like the “weeds” in bikini bottom are regenerating which is very frustrating because they are so expensive to clear. The state of the game currently feels like something someone will download and only play for few days because they get frustrated. I think that it would be a lot more fun if the cost of everything was 75% cheaper or you were give 200 energy. Thank you

Fun but….

This is a fun game but there already have been too many times where I’m only 1 away from completing the daily task whether it’s collecting or spending and it won’t take it into account. And then I’ll try again and it still will not add it next thing you know I try 3 more times and I’ve ran out of energy or don’t have the supplies anymore and I’m still 1 away from completing the task even though I’ve done it 5 times. And then eventually after waiting so long to charge up again I’m running out of time and it STILL won’t adjust the amount to be completed it kind of annoying because I’m completing the task but it’s not calculating it.

By

It’s fun but,

This is a really fun game., but why is the energy level only 50 when every item is basically that much or more, and u have to sometimes tap one multiple times of the same amount of energy every time, it’s fun but also very difficult when you have to wait and wait to do something. I also just watched a ad for 25 energy didn’t work so watched one again. Still didn’t work. So I won’t watch anymore ads if they can’t deliver what they say. For kids., I don’t think it would keep interest long, as the wait and clearing is a long task. Hopefully it’s a fix coming soon. It is fun but it’s a game you shouldn’t make it where u have to pay money for things or wait and wait.

By

Same complaint as everyone else’s.

Like most people, I feel that the energy costs to remove simple debris are way too high. I’m fairly early into the game, and I have a max limit of 65 energy. One type of debris, literally a single flower, costs ~35 energy to clear. I’ve never seen any other game of this type have such high energy costs for such a small amount of max energy after waiting times. And I’m sure the devs will just say “there are additional ways to get extra energy,” and sure, there are, but mostly in the form of small pick-ups that barely cover the cost of the next mandatory debris removal. There aren’t enough extra pick-ups if you want to stray for ten seconds to clear some extra debris, of which there is a metric f-ton. Just reduce the energy costs and you’ve got a fun little game here. The high energy costs are a strange way of showcasing company greed through micro-transactions that shouldn’t need to be necessary to play longer than 30 seconds at a time. Edit: “Dev Response” is nothing but a copy/paste cookie-cutter response that says nothing and proves they probably don’t read these reviews or take the criticisms seriously.

Buy or wait

As a new player, I found it incredibly easy to breeze past jellyfish fields and the city. Now I’m in Atlantis on the 3rd day of playing. I keep making food for the clams I’ve placed with their feed house and I never see any pearls over them the way jellyfish made jelly. The fields have been open for more than 24 hours and that’s the only place I ever see jelly since it opened, so maybe that’s why I’m not getting pearls at home after moving on to Atlantis.

It’s hard to get into the game or remember where u planned to go when energy is maxed at 50 and it takes 95 just to remove one of 3-4 obstacles just like it to unlock the next area. I use the mini games and energy machines to hurry things along, but it’s annoying when things don’t unlock because of that and are required in order to progress. Ya get stuck a lot waiting for energy to the point that it’s difficult to remember why ya even wanted to come back to play it.

Energy System is WACK LOL

dude the animation in this game? amazing. astounding. it’s so high quality and the dialogue is fleshed out to where it feels like its really paying homage to the characters (which is why any of us really play this game in the first place i’m sure) but the energy system? its so funny how its severely lacking. i saw another review saying that it takes all of your energy to break a rock and they were RIGHT. i mean hey, if your goal is to never have any players get through the game due to frustration, or to make money out of your consumers you’re on the right track (but even then the items you’re selling for money don’t feel like its worth it considering the exchange rate for using almost all of your diamonds for one exploding pie or to get energy back to break another rock). i hardly ever write reviews in games (or any app in SpongeBobAdventures store in general) and so i want to end it with saying that the developers have an amazing game idea, i just feel like it’s unfair to the player how the currency systems were made ♡

By

LOVE this game, but has flaws

I downloaded this game abt a month ago & I play it all the time. I do have a few complaints tho that I’d love to be considered! The supplies. It’s slow moving to progress because half of the stuff I need to build buildings or whatever, I’ve harvested. I can’t expand because it takes way too many rakes & shovels to open a tiny piece of land, then when you do clear it, there’s nothing you need in it. I’ve harvested all the worlds I’ve explored too & still don’t have enough of certain items like coral, wood, metal, etc. There needs to be a way to harvest coral & kelp & stuff, because theres not enough around the game to keep it moving. Energy bar needs to have a bigger capacity too. Wait an hour to refill it & only knock over one tree. & the compasses are hard to get. I have a task to make a toy train & I can’t seem to even get enough compasses to unlock it. I can’t complete the tasks or deliver to the bull worm because there aren’t enough resources to make certain stuff. It’s just a hard game to progress on with what you got.

By

It’s okay

Like many others have complained about the energy system I definitely see that as being an issue. My other thing is I haven’t moved on from jelly fish fields yet because you can get the jelly there and it’s like 999 my question is that if I move on and the area is closed am I permanently locked out of getting that free resource or will there be an option to collect it even after I leave the area. It’s it’s the former I’d rather not move on. And things do take a while for the energy to regain. You do the mini game which gives free energy it’s about an hour wait on the things to refill and a 3 hour wait on the tasks themselves to refill. While I understand that most mobile games have energy systems to try to get the player back into it later. This one seems kinda ridiculous that there’s no way to increase the cap. And removing things does cost a large amount of energy. You can remove a few things at most and just come back to it maybe a few hours later and repeat the same steps. It’s ok just not all that fun I thought it would be.

Addictive game- but I’m stuck!

I love playing this game, but I would agree with other reviews in the fact that some obstacles take a LOT of energy to remove, especially the farther along you get in the main storyline. I’m in the Medieval Moments section and the obstacles there take 180+ energy to remove ONE SINGLE THING when your max energy is only 70 at best. It makes things slow to a halt, and by the time my energy refills, I’ve lost the motivation to continue because I feel like it’s just a waste of energy to get basically nowhere.
I shouldn’t need to pay 15$+ just to fill my energy/get gems to continue!

I do like the new event in Patrick’s couch- but I’ve reached the point where I collected parts to a quest before the quest even started, so now I can’t continue and I’m stuck- I can’t complete the event! In this instance I wish there was an option to use gems to skip the task or something!!

By

Decent game, but needs some changes!!!

I really like this game, but they are a few things that should be fixed. Like everyone else, I also agree that the energy should be fixed, but there is another problem that has been apparent for me. Whenever I go to a different world and there is dialogue, the screen doesn’t freeze, but I can’t press anything anymore. I have tried restarting my device several times and it still didn’t work. Whenever I log off the game for an hour or more, when I log back on I am taken to the same part where the game glitched and I can’t click out of it. I have deleted and reinstalled this game several times and at first, everything works fine, but again, after logging off for a bit, I am pretty much forced to delete and reinstall this game another time. This is a very tedious process, which is why I am not giving this game 5 stars until this problem is fixed.

A very grinding and slow game to progress

This game is probably the most detailed and beautiful SpongeBob app game I’ve seen. The problem is that energy is very slow to accumulate and you only can play for about 20 seconds after waiting 30 minutes or so for full energy. The sad thing is this wait time isn’t an exaggeration. You’re going to lose a lot of players from this game being so unbalanced. Energy is slow to accumulate. Task items like seaweed take forever to gain because energy is so low. There’s no point of having bikini bottom citizens because you never have enough materials to build anything to utilize them. Planting crops is also worthless. You have so many crops but due to needing items that require energy that takes forever to get you can’t craft anything with it. I think this game tried pulling ideas from greater games that already have these mechanics without knowing how to properly implement them. There doesn’t seem to be any true play testers either because this game is very unbalanced and broken.

By

The energy problem 🙄😒

Don’t get me wrong I like how the game story is but I hate how I can’t delete or sell things like roads I’ve put down and get some money back bc the roads I put down when I first started I don’t like no more but I don’t wanna just buy new ones bc that’s a waste of the money that I spent I don’t like how I can’t reset my game and start all over again if I wanted to I hate how the energy is 50 max unless u have collected stuff to get more bc in jellyfish fields a rock is 45 out of that 50 energy and then I’m stuck bc I can’t do anything after breaking just one oh and the 45 rock is the small rock not the big ones which are like 60 something I’m just frustrated bc I wanna love the game but I can’t progress I can’t make room to place stuff bc I don’t have the energy to get rid of the stuff and I can’t complete orders bc I don’t have to room to build the things I need to build to complete the orders

Decent game

The only issues I’ve really had were getting enough energy to unlock new areas on the maps and not being able to move buildings around once you place them. I feel like instead of having energy max out at 50 it should max out at at least 100. And as for the building situation I feel like we should be able to go back and edit where we want to put our buildings. I’ve just been placing buildings for the missions in random open places until I could clear more room and move them but there’s no way to move the buildings once you placed them.

Other than that, I have no complaints. It’s a fun game. Just irritating that it takes so long to get energy and I never have enough of it. And being able to move buildings would be nice.

Can’t give 5 starts until some issues are fixed

I really enjoy this game. I downloaded it about two months ago because I love games like these. Even thought I do enjoy this game I do I have a few issues with it. First the energy is capped at 50. No matter how much you level up, the max stays at 50 which means if you have progressed far enough in the game, you have to use other resources to gain more energy. Second, the resources cost ENTIRELY TOO MUCH ENERGY TO HARVEST!!! Not only in bikini bottom are most of the resources cost too much energy, but as you progress through the map, the different locations energy costs skyrocket! I’m current on level 19 at chum bucket and I’ve barely made any progress on that map because for example the electrical wires cost 111 energy to harvest but the game Caps you at 50 energy. So if I can’t use the sugar squeeze cart, candy vending machine, create energy at the fry cook museum, have fences covered in jelly and have enough glue to repair it, or receive orders where the reward is not energy, I either have to wait days to hoard energy or I just don’t do the map location at all. I also feel like there should be more ways to earn diamonds for free. This game has so much potential but these issues are really hindering its success

Frustrating

The game itself is so much fun, but prepare for frustration. It’s your typical game that you have to spend real money to progress well. And when you get farther in the game, things in the game become more expensive and more difficult. I figured SpongeBob has enough related to it to make billions, stop making us pay money for stupid things.

Updating my review by saying nobody has time to go on the game ever 50 minutes for the 50 energies you get. As you progress in the game, everything gets way more expensive in energy. I’ve been stuck on the same two pieces to collect for about 5 days now because of how much they cost. I understand making things harder in the game but not nearly impossible. Especially when metal is the most popular item to craft for the order board, and you’re spending over 300 energies on it to only get 4 pieces. I also catch myself spending almost a week on the little arcade game to get more energy. Everything that you craft takes mostly over an hour to make so since nobody has the time to check in on the game as often as they want, they’re still missing out on opportunities for all the little side games, and the characters popping up next to the order board. So yes, the more you play, the more energy you get. However, people do not have all the free time in the world to get all the energy. Which makes the game so frustrating and leads people to stop playing out of it being nearly impossible to complete.

Love this game but a few things are incredibly frustrating

I love this game, I play it everyday, you could say I’m borderline obsessed with this game. It was fun at first but now that I’ve reached the chum bucket it’s getting incredibly difficult to find certain resources like CORAL, logs, and metal. Coral is the biggest shortcoming in this game even though you need it for many things! This needs to be reconsidered and fixed so the game is more enjoyable. Another thing that needs to be fixed is the lack of plant beds you can purchase. You’re only allotted a certain amount of plant beds at a time and can’t buy more until many levels later when we CLEARLY need more, why??! At this point I have to spend 2-3 days planting and farming before I can make other things or complete orders because of the lack of plant beds I’m allowed to have! I wish these things are corrected soon because if I continue to struggle to find coral I will eventually delete this game. It’s challenging and engaging and fun enough without the added stress of lack of resources! I am on the verge of deleting this game even though I really don’t want to!

Wish there was a better way to rearrange buildings…

Got this game and have been actively playing for a week now and I got to Kelp City. It easy to progress through the different cities but be warned they do close after 48 hours once you leave. For energy, I wish it didn’t cap at 50 but you can hoard energy from orders, selling spatulas or minigames and the snack carts. I’ve been enjoying the limitations of the energy and farming capacity as it allows me to slow down and enjoy the game. The core of it is to restore Bikini Bottom by clearing the debris and redecorating the town, I just wish that there was a mass edit mode where you can enter in and rearrange quickly instead of pressing down on each asphalt tile or building or bench to move it one at a time. It just makes me not want to decorate but I’m powering through :(. Otherwise I enjoy the weekly challenges and I’m excited to continue to clean Bikini Bottom. A personal goal if you would say would be to clear bikini bottom and as much as I can in the other cities.

Needs some TLC

Energy capacity is at 50 which is equivalent to 50 minutes to fill. No matter how many levels you progress it always stays at 50. You cannot edit your buildings or decorations, so if you placed an extra item on accident or happen to block a secret pathway with a building; you’re just screwed to deal with it. Harvesting resources (at least for free) will take you months to advance as each tiny piece of resource to harvest will require 20-80 energy to clear it. That’s means waiting up to an hour and a half to remove 1 single piece of rubble in your path which can be littered with about 40 items.

The game itself is beautifully well animated and exploding with references to the shows episodes. I’m absolutely obsessed with the show and have multiple tattoos of the characters, but this game is hard to endure and difficult to enjoy unless you’re willing to fork over hundreds of dollars to get any progress with it. Maybe I will redownload it once it has an update, but until then, I would suggest you save your time and heartbreak.

Fun but not easy

I love SpongeBob games they are always fun and I like this game it’s a lot like Klondike. I love the imagery and dialogue of the characters. I just don’t like how much energy it takes to break down objects and a lot of the time I don’t have enough energy and it takes forever to get tart done because I have to wait for the energy to load and I can’t use the exploding pies because you need diamonds to purchase them and u only get 3 diamonds a day and it takes 50 to purchase one diamond. If you want to advance faster you really have to spend your own money and that’s something u don’t like. I spent $40 bucks already and I’ve only played for 3 days and ik you can just be patient and now spend your money but then this begins to be a game that’s hard to enjoy because sometimes a task will take 95 energy and my energy only has 50 so I do one task and stop playing and wait for my energy to load more. It’s not a game I can just sit and play for a long time. I’m even running out of room in bikini bottom to place buildings I need because it takes so much energy to clear space to build

Highly addictive and worth 5 stars but…

Pretty much the only way you can progress consistently in the game is to buy the pass for discounted Debris removal or consistently watching every ad option for energy that you allow. I get needing to make the money so that you can further produce the game we all would love to see this become but their needs to be more in game ways to get energy boosters. Since early game is fairly cheap, I believe that the only thing you’d need is to either make A. more gold be produced from jelly’s/clams/ and seahorses or B. Make the resources for silver spatulas refresh in open spots in the bikini bottom/ make them a little bit cheaper. Doing the math on it if it cost 120 to break, and it can almost build three silver spatulas (165 energy worth). I’m not making much of a deal on it, it’s more like I just put the energy in storage. Also I was slightly pushed away from buying the pass after learning that some skins aren’t a permanent bonus and have timers to when the booster disappears , if we’re gunna work hard on events to get new skins for buildings it would be great to at least keep them. I hope to see all the cool things you’ll be bring in. Thank you

Super cute and fun!

Overall, a low-maintenance game that’s super fun and addicting. When I first saw SpongeBobAdventures advertised, I thought it was a straightforward farming game and while that is a component to the game, the storyline of cleaning up Bikini Bottom brings a new take on the typical “farming game”. The graphics are cute and colorful too.

With SpongeBobAdventures just having launched, I’m surprised by how well developed the game already is. There are a couple minor glitches (game freezes on occasion during the storyline and SpongeBobAdventures opens my phone’s notification settings upon load—guessing because I have notification turned off) but all pretty minor inconveniences for a brand new gaming app.

Would recommend!

Fun and Entertaining

I really like this game, and I spend down time playing it almost everyday! The graphics are nice and very true to the actual show, which I grew up watching (and still watch honestly). I like the farming and harvesting competitions where you earn tons of extra energy as well. My only gripe is the rate at which energy is replenished versus spent. Clearing debris is expensive in comparison to how much energy is earned. They have different ways to earn energy, but it seems like the more you progress through the various locations outside of Bikini Bottom, the more expensive it is to clear debris. (Ex: At King Krab’s Castle, it costs 145 energy to get more kelp, and then you’re only given like 5 or 6 kelp.) A good example of a proper exchange rate for energy would be the side quest in SpongeBob’s couch, where clearing debris cost at most 10-15 energy and you got a lot of product. This kept me motivated to play the side quest more than the actual game before it closed after two weeks. In addition, once you move to another location, you cannot access it again after 48 hours, so if you had a lot of debris left that you could harvest, it’s lost. Outside of those things, I do really enjoy playing the game!

Not a High Enough Energy Bar Despite Any Other Free Methods to Gain Energy

The game itself is really fun and there’s lots to do. I like the story line and how it’s a clean up and design your own Bikini Bottom (and other worlds) kind of game. My only complaints are that the energy bar capacity is 50 but it should be higher to either 100 or even 150 to do anything progress wise for more than 2 minutes. When I log in, I have 50 energy MAX if I don’t have any additional energy stored up. Some items are worth 380, 70, 45, 37, 27, and other levels of energy I can’t remember, but it’s quite ridiculous to try and even wanna keep going back whenever I have 50 energy, maybe 15 energy from some quests, hopefully whatever energy can be provided from blue jellyfish, or any of the energy carts that still require items (these items are obtained using energy mostly) to be used to obtain any extra energy. Overall, I believe the game could be better with an increased energy bar, instead of 50 being the max, it should be 100, 150, or maybe even 200 since there’s so much to use energy on in this game.

Energy

I normally don’t write reviews but I loved this game okay and I have actually made it very far I’m on chapter 2 doom tower it’s basically impossible to do anything anymore you have to either pay money for barely any energy or wait weeks to even get one task done because everything cost 300 plus energy and they cap you out at 50? How does that make sense and the only reason I wanted to keep playing was because I’m obsessed with sponge bob and wanted to create my own bikini bottom but even that part is impossible because I can’t even do the small little tasks because you need coral to do a lot of stuff and I don’t have any left so I have to go to the doom tower and then spend 300 energy for 3 things of coral not worth it and then I can’t expand my land because the worm wants all the worst things that you have to wait hours for or you can’t even make what it wants because you don’t have enough supplies to make said things.. it’s really not fun anymore tbh 🤷🏻‍♀️
