Font Keyboard Reviews

FontKeyboard is an example of predatory monetization tactics that are unfortunately becoming too common. While it advertises itself as free, Smart Fonts is locked behind an unreasonably high paywall—$3 per week. Worse, this cost is never mentioned upfront. Users are only informed after downloading, when they’re forced to agree to an automatic subscription to access a so-called “free” 3-day trial.

The trial itself requires pre-authorization for recurring charges, banking on users forgetting to cancel before they’re billed. This is not just misleading—it’s unethical. These tactics exploit user trust and convenience, aiming to collect payments from people who likely never intended to subscribe.

Moreover, the lack of transparency raises doubts about the quality of the trial. If FontKeyboard ’s value were truly worth the exorbitant price, why rely on such strong-arm tactics?

I cannot recommend FontKeyboard. Developers need to prioritize honesty and fair practices, and app stores need to take a stronger stance against such manipulative behavior. Until then, steer clear.

Checking to see if leaving a review actually unlocks one of the fonts. I do like that it doesn’t require full access to the keyboard though. Update: wrote the review. So far no access to font. Will continue to test out FontKeyboard though. Second update: none of the fonts work for free on the keyboard or within FontKeyboard , at least not for me. Every single time I open FontKeyboard , the subscription page pops up and then requires a second click on a second pop-up before it will close. If not having full access to the keyboard is worth the $40/year to you, then this may be FontKeyboard for you. I could deal with the annoying subscription pop-ups if at least some of the fonts were included, but they’re not, and I find that pretty bizarre. Glad I didn’t share with friends to unlock the other font.

So I’m not quite sure about FontKeyboard. The way I found FontKeyboard was by looking up on google “ completely free iPhone font apps” it said that this would be the best one and be completely free. When I downloaded it I had high hopes for everything to be free but it wasn’t. None of the fonts were free and I had to pay for EVERYTHING. For some reason I was reading the other reviews and some said if you left a review that was at least 100 words long you could get everything free. I definitely don’t think this it true but I’m doing it anyway because I’m desperate at this point. I’ve downloaded so many apps like this then deleted them because I had to pay, I really just want an app that’s free and easy to use, so I can spice up my texting/socail media post. Anyway that’s it I’m crossing my fingers that this will work, I will update this review if anything happens Thanks

PROS
Everything on it is free, it doesn’t ask for access to your past history, there are no ads that I’ve found so far, and there are quite a few options. I don’t mind that they ask for a review it helps their business and it’s much better than ads or paying.

CONS
It didn’t work in FontKeyboard Store and there might be other apps that it doesn’t show up in (I copy pasted the bottom), it doesn’t have the smart suggested screen at the top or autocorrect, it also doesn’t have the fast swipe type.

I think it really just depends on what you want FontKeyboard for. Personally it has everything I wants and I’ll get used to the differences thanks for the great app!

The crashes while using within Instagram have definitely decreased a ton, however TikTok still doesn’t like using the keyboard even if you copy and paste it there.. but I’m not complaining I can use it with every other app and it’s cute and fun to have for quotes, titles, highlighting important info. , creating attractions to your writing ect!!

P.s: I wouldn’t mind a little more font selections next time I think I can speak for many others when I say that as well 🙂

I scanned a very long list of font apps and all of them had negative comments. I chose FontKeyboard based on the overwhelming positive reviews. I have not tried it yet but am anxious to do so. I plan to us this mainly for texting and possibly an email or two (although I don’t send many of those anymore). I like to be creative and I’m hoping this will also work on Facebook. I’ll follow up after using this is several different settings.

That’s the biggest thing for me personally. I wish there were a few more options for fonts and keyboards but this is the best app I’ve come across.

Edit: I subscribed thinking it would give me access to the “hundreds” of different font options and it didn’t change anything. There are roughly 30-40 different fonts and 26 keyboard options. Keeping the 4 ⭐️ rating for not selling our data.

I’ve only been using FontKeyboard for a couple weeks but it works well. I’ve enjoyed being able to spruce up my social media posts for growing my business.

I do find it limited in fonts but it’s simple to use. It’s also important to note that you can’t type a sentence and only change one or two words to a different font. The entire sentence will change so I find it tedious to go back and forth from my social media post to FontKeyboard for only certain words.

I also haven’t found a cursive font on FontKeyboard which is one I’d love to see but maybe in the future.

I am not typically a guy who writes reviews, but I am someone who likes to add a little bit of whimsy into the things I do. Most apps that offer fonts require you to give full access to your keyboard. As someone who feels a little squeamish about such things, that does not work for me. Smart Fonts allows you to use their fonts without such a requirement. Although the number of fonts are limited, it is still an expansion of font and it preserves a modicum of privacy. With no obligation, why not try it for yourself.

Just based off the fact this was one of the only fonts apps I found in FontKeyboard Store that is actually free and doesn’t require a subscription to use means FontKeyboard gets a good rating. The amount of fonts and the bells and whistles included in those subscription required apps aren’t on FontKeyboard, but there are a good starting amount of font options to use on FontKeyboard . I found it to be a good entry to using fonts apps for the first time without having to worry about a free 3 day subscription to access everything.

I've been using Smart Fonts for a while now, and I'm really impressed with its features. FontKeyboard has a wide range of fonts to choose from, and they are all really cool and unique. I love the fact that you can customize the fonts to your liking, and FontKeyboard is very user-friendly. The fonts are easy to install and use, and they look great in all my social media posts and messages. I highly recommend Smart Fonts to anyone who wants to add some personality to their text messages and social media posts.

I wanted new fonts just for texting and began to search in FontKeyboard Store. Hardly any are free and the couple that are free, are not that user friendly too much this/that involved. The most work I am willing to do to have a variety of fonts is copy and paste from one app to another. FontKeyboard is awesome and exactly what I needed. SO! With that said, 🙏🏼 Please let’s keep FontKeyboard free it’s one of the very very little few that is actually really cool, has a good amount of selections of fonts, easy to use, and of course lastly (but not least) IT IS FREEEEEE!!!

Finally and the best for last. As of February 2023 it appears that this FREE KEYBOARD IS ACTUALLY IN ACTIVE DEVELOPMENT and isn't some piece of free digital trash dumped in the market and left to age on and on.

FontKeyboard is good. It’s not free, it has subscription charges which are modest for the year considering everything has jumped to subscription based use these days. I love being able to use different fonts across multiple and the different selection of keyboards is pretty cool too. My two complaints are the keyboard has a slight lag / delay so I can’t ‘type’ as quick and that the symbols !?$& etc. aren’t included in the different fonts.

We will see if FontKeyboard is free. I google searched it and it said it was. Doesn’t appear to be but it’s my last resort. Every other app seems to charge a weekly or annual fee. I’ve saw many people say that if you leave a review it will unlock the genie in a bottle and the world will be your oyster. I don’t know. Maybe I will win the lottery too??? Anyways….my dad always said, “There is no such thing as a free lunch.” Well…here’s to dads with one-liners and poorly written reviews that nobody reads. Cheers!

I was able to use a lot of the fonts right away but it did prompt me to leave a review to unlock the rest of the fonts. Normally I’d be put off by that, but ya know what? This font keyboard is the only one I found that is actually free and simple and works well. So it actually does deserve a five star review! If all I have to do is leave a review to unlock everything (doesn’t even have to be five stars) then that seems pretty fair to me!

I was looking for something to spruce my business bio up & I didn’t like any of the apps I was finding to use. They were either too complicated, couldn’t upload the font to paste, nothing decent was free or you had to watch ads and then couldn’t move past the ad to use the keyboard feature. I found this one by doing a quick Google search to see what the higher rated ones were. This one was unlike any I’ve used over the years. You just put your text in the box and choose from the fonts you like and copy that into your document. Super easy! If you’re a millennial and older this will be your friend. Use it!

I was getting so annoyed with in-app purchase keyboard Apps that appear to be free but require purchases to fully use. Love it and its simplicity so far. I would suggest to the developer that he updates with a feature that allows you to re-order the fonts at the top of the universal keyboard, or be able to pin some of them to the leftmost section for easier access.

According to FontKeyboard Developer, this platform neither gathers keystroke data nor requires that access be allowed for its use.
In this time of sneaky attacks and stealthy spyware, this was a major factor when choosing to purchase FontKeyboard. So far, all of this info has shown to be accurate. Whether or not FontKeyboard does all of the rest? Well. . . that remains to be seen. . . but the relationship of trust is already underway.

App does exactly what it’s supposed to do. I’ve only been using it for less than an hour. With that being said, I like FontKeyboard , and plan to continue its use from time to time to add Microsoft word type feel to my texts and social media/blog posts. I will write a follow up review in the next coming weeks to reiterate and reinforce my statements. If my phone begins to start glitching, gets buggy, drains the battery quicker OR my bank accounts change in anyway, I will immediately post an update and veto my now previously positive review. If you are wary of this apps functionality in any fashion but like the idea and concept, please refrain from downloading FontKeyboard now and wait until I repost my second review in the coming weeks. ** Also, To Andrew Lee and whomever else is or may be involved with the progress and application of this ‘application’(wanted to italicize the word application right there but couldn’t since I am inside FontKeyboard at the moment giving this review ~browser add-in could potentially be an avenue to consider when making any changes to the software in the future)… Please keep me honest and contact me if I have not made a follow up review by the end of next month or June 2023.
