Vivaldi on iOS!

Thanks for all work getting this browser to iOS. Built-in Tracker/ad blocker and feels speedy. Can sync with Vivaldi desktop if you use that.

To make this 5-Star we need to be able to set default zoom levels that work as good as Safari, and option to have address bar at bottom.

But Honestly I don’t see what this brings new to the table of already established and crowded pool of privacy focused browsers on iOS, all constrained to being another Safari skin.

By

My favorite web browser ❤️

So happy to see Vivaldi on iOS! It’s my default on all its supported platforms.

Highly customizable and privacy-respecting tool from a trustworthy pioneer in the industry, Jon von Tetchner and the Vivaldi team.

Even on iOS, Vivaldi doesn’t treat its users as dummies. After install I immediately went to work customizing the bookmarks, adding folders to put things where I want, all very straightforward yet fine-tunable in the Vivaldi tradition.

Pages load right up, history is easy to find and review, everything in the “V menu”, no need to go back to general settings to change something.

By

Finally My Favorite Browser is Here

So happy to see Vivaldi come to iOS, I can finally get away from Safari and Chrome and have my data sync across devices. Vivaldi is an incredible browser on desktop and this is a great mobile companion.

By

Finally giving iOS some love!

No longer have to export bookmarks from Vivaldi to Chrome so I can sync to Safari on my iPhone using the iCloud for Windows app. This is awesome. Thanks Vivaldi team.

By

Great browser!

Glad to have it on my iPhone finally. It’s been my default browser on desktop for a long time.

By

It is very good

For being the first version it is really good

By

Amazing, but needs some features

I’ve been using Vivaldi on PC (windows 11) for some time now, and I love it. I love the sidebar and its customizability, but that’s nowhere to be found here on the iOS version. It’s fine though.

By

Thanks for bringing up an iOS version

I have been using Vivaldi for a long and wished for an ios version. Thanks to team.

Lets use it and share feedback for betterment!!!

By

Nice

The best browser in the world !

By

NO blocking of trackers/ads in Private Tab modes

I can't believe you released this without even having the basic functionary of blocking trackers/ads in private mode.

By

Finally

I use this browser on most of my devices it’s fast secure let’s me skip ads on YouTube it does it all!!! All I ask if you possible to add a home button

By

It's finally here

I've been using Vivaldi on desktop and Android for years. It's a great product for security/privacy conscious geeks. If these words mean something to you, definitely give it a shot.

By

Love the app 1 suggestion though

I’ve used Vivaldi on my Android since it came out began to use on my Mac once I became accustomed to it and now love the iOS app but one pet peev I have and it may seem small but there’s no home button no homepage. If that could be added it would be perfect. Also maybe add the option to change the placement of the back forward and tab button that would also be nice but I neeeed a home button lol so I can have my favorite website one tap away right on the bottom bar. Thank you for your time

By

Hands down the best! 🙌🏼

I have tried nearly every web browser available on Mac & iOS. Certainly all of the major ones and most of the obscure ones too. On Mac, Vivaldi was the clear winner— and by a lot! I was always kind of bummed that my browsing experience was fragmented due to the lack of iOS support with Vivaldi, but not anymore baby!!! I am so happy that Vivaldi is now available on all of my platforms! As for VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser , the Vivaldi Team did not disappoint! A beautiful interface paired with top-notch functionality & features. Great work!! Thank you so much!! 😊

By

A Great iOS Browser!

Knowing the limits of iOS and stuff, this is a great port of Vivaldi. Smooth, responsive, and a good user interface, plus a built in ad/tracker blocker. I love the addition of extra icons you can change VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser icon to, there’s one for everyone! My only feature request is that the top bar would change colors like the desktop version.

By

Would love the color changing feature

This seems like a great app so far. I love the desktop-style tab bar for its convenience. Dolphin browser used to have that feature but it became an obsolete app. If the feature where the color of the browser changes to match the website is implemented, I will upgrade my review to 5 stars (I know it’s gimmicky, but it’s one of my favorite things about Vivaldi on desktop)!

By

Awesome Beyond My Wildest Dreams

Just installed Vivaldi on my iPad, synced my data from Vivaldi on Mac, added my mobile bookmarks from my previous mobile browser, and finetuned everything. After that, in turn, I synced all that to my iPhone without the slightest hitch. Felt like I waited forever, but now that Vivaldi for iOS is finally out, it’s awesome beyond my wildest dreams! ❤️🙏

By

Buggy and missing features

This has a lot of potential, but has some bugs and missing features. I could not get tab syncing to work. And no translate option. Not ready for prime time but I’m excited to see future versions.

By

Sync is great

It’s great to finally be able to sync my Vivaldi data to my phone but the dealbreaker for me is it doesn’t have any way to force dark mode on web pages, either natively or via an extension like Noir

By

iPad can not syc

iPad can not syc

By

Best browser

Use Vivaldi on Linux, Windows and Mac. Best browser. Switched from Firefox long ago and been so happy.
Ability to tile tabs is the best, gold medal to that team that did it.

Lately there’s been some issues with auto filling passwords but they’ll fix it. Overall sync works great and it’s just so good

By

Made one change

Went to Vivaldi://flags and enabled dynamic type. Now it’s even better by automatically following my phones text size setting. They did a really good job on this. Worth the wait.

By

Browser extensions

I use Vivaldi on my Mac all the time and love it. I was psyched to see it come to iOS! One thing I would love to see extensions; for example I use a password vault, but I cannot use it on the iOS version but can on desktop version. Other than that, I love that you all finally made it to iOS!

By

Adblocker needs fixing

I’ve noticed that there are many ads on the internet that aren’t being blocked by the adblocker. I’ve seen these on several websites.

Aside from that, though, everything else is really good! I could definitely do with an actual reload button (since you can’t reload on pages that don’t scroll), though.

By

Finally

The lack of a mobile app was the only reason I haven’t been using Vivaldi now I can the only gripe I have is that I wish when I open VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser the search bar was already selected and I could just start typeing

By

THANK YOU

I’ve been waiting such a long time for this. I’ve loved the endless customization I can get on my pc with Vivaldi. Ik you just ported VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser , but if you could it’d be even better if we could customize the colors on iOS like I can on pc!

By

Simply the best. No other.

So glad that it's finally here. Once they add the tabs and the address bar on the bottom I'll be right at home.

By

Wonderful

Just an great browser , But can you guys shorten the name on iOS App Store it’s kinda hard to find

By

The best mobile browser ever!!!

Finally, they made it. Vivaldi on the desktop is the center of my life online. I'm so glad that I can have the same experience on mobile with all my tabs and passwords synced. Thank you so much team for the effort of making this happen.

By

Tab browsing on iOS!

Finally I can have tabs that work like my desktop. Thanks to Vivaldi, I can sync my bookmarks and other stuff to ALL my devices. Vivaldi gives me more privacy and blocks ads too. It’s snappy, looks great, and will make your browsing more secure and more productive.

By

In Love. Simple, Fast, Organized.

I rotate between 30-40 tabs a day. Vivaldi tab grouping, and Stack Pinning has been a game changer, and saves me valuable seconds constantly.

Very to happy to see this Browser extend into IOS, but heavily RQST Tab Management on IOS, if Possible? 🤞

By

Wow it's insane

I got to say in all honesty, it's incredible! The user interface is marvelous and it's functionality is astounding! I've been waiting nearly 2 years for VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser to come out to iOS. This is one of my best days yet! 👏👏👏 one thing Vivaldi on iOS should definitely add is the choice of moving the address bar up or down. Almost every popular browser including Safari, Brave, Edge, and more have these two options and of course, Vivaldi should also have that too. 👏 way to go

By

Great browser!

Very good job moving my favorite desktop browser to ios! It’s fast and smooth and doesn’t choke on sites thanks to good ad blocking. Get Translate turned on and I’ll never need another iphone browser!!

By

I want to love this browser but the crashes and bugs makes it unusable.

App keeps crashing when I’m trying add/remove ad and tracker blockers, and even though I would remove the blocker URLs from the list, they would reappear again and the tracker/ad would simply disable itself at relaunch, only solution is to uninstall and reinstall VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser . Also, adding new blockers and enabling them seems to eventually break adblocking, and as a result, ads start reappearing, even if I disable and remove custom filters that I’ve added. Also, VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser seems to get stuck on Applying New Blocker Settings which may explain why adblocking seems like a crapshoot. I guess until Vivaldi fixes these bugs, I’ll have to go back to Safari.

Where is the passion?

Vivaldi is my go to web browser on desktop. I love the ability available to me to customize how the browser looks and operates. I love the concept of web panels. I love the ad blocking and trackers blocking baked in that can be toggled. And I love the way that extensions from Chrome are usable. So, imagine my disappointment when I see so much of this missing. No custom wallpapers. No theme creation. No extensions (not their fault but something that they have to compete with on iOS). No built in productivity features like timers or pause buttons. No customizing the address bar or tab bar. No web panel like feature. So much of what I love and use in Vivaldi on the desktop is just missing on iOS. To their credit, I am glad they have syncing with an account, however this is not a feature I use much. If I want to pick up browsing from iOS to macOS, continuity makes that possible. I am glad the ad and tracking blockers are there. The notes and reading lists are good additions too. But these hand-full of features a distinct and captivating web browser does not make. I have faith that their team will continue to work to develop much of the character of Vivaldi into the iOS version. However, the current version of this browser lacks the passion I associate with the Vivaldi team.

By

Great, but picture and picture does not work

I’ve been looking forward to an iOS release of Vivaldi for a long time and it’s finally here! So far so good, except that Picture in Picture does not work. If I switch to another app for example, the PIP closes. If that was fixed this would be a no brainer.

Get Yourself Off the Menu

Forget about the illusion of freebies. When it comes to online privacy, there are no free lunches. If you use free browsers and free email services, remember, you're the commodity on the menu. This is the strategy that propelled Alphabet (aka Google) into the trillion-dollar club. But if you're serious about your privacy, you've likely had to give up on some nice-to-have features. But today, the game has changed. I'm ecstatic I can finally use my favorite PC browser on my iPhone. Now, I can securely sync my passwords without handing them over to Google. I hold the only key to the encrypted vault. No more relying on third-party extensions to dodge Google's prying gaze. Kudos, Vivaldi!

By

Already the best

Cannot wait to see the development of VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser. Love the pc version. Would like to see more customization options in future.

By

some ridiculous reviews here

anyway, its a very solid and good start.
will use it more and make it my main browser when there is zoom for text is available. this makes the iPhone a pain to use when it comes to browsers . the fonts are to tiny . thanks for all the hard work !

By

Acceptable but nothing like the desktop version

Not a great alternative to Safari at the moment.
Reader mode is missing.
Ad blocker does not seem to work. Sometimes it does but mostly it doesn’t.
You need to tap at least twice to be able to reload a webpage on iPhone. Why is there no quick access icon for such a basic function?
Pinch screen function to zoom out from tab and close is also not there.

By

Great browser!

I've been using the Windows desktop version of Vivaldi and really love it so I was excited when the IOS beta version of Vivaldi was released. The iOS version has many of the same outstanding features as the desktop version. At first, the beta version was on the slow side in terms of searching but now it's working quite briskly and I've switched my default to Vivaldi on all my devices. Thanks for making a wonderful browser!!!

By

Life is good

Vivaldi pulled me away from Firefox as a daily driver about a year ago. Since then had always been Firefox on iOS and Vivaldi on my desktop. Now it’s on all my devices as default. I love it. It needs a bit of improvement though. URL bar needs to be on bottom for starters and all the settings and controls should be down there too where it’s thumb accessible. I’m sure it’s coming. Life is good!

By

Good ui for one hand use

The only browser with a sane back button placement for one hand use. In most browsers the back button is the far bottom left which is very hard to reach if you’re using the phone only holding it in your right hand. This browser places the back button near the center.

By

Drains my battery

I love the Vivaldi browser on desktop/laptop. It’s an excellent offshoot of the renowned Opera browser. So naturally I waited patiently for the iOS version. Sorry to say I may have to delete it, as it drains my battery by huge percentages even for a quick lookup. I like its built-in ad blocking options, and I’ll revisit it in the future. For now, though, I can’t tolerate a huge current hog.

By

Excellent Browser

I had heard of Vivaldi but never used it. Recently downloaded the browser and have been enjoying learning about its features. I watched a lengthy interview with the CEO and he explained the culture behind this browser which answered a lot of questions for me.

I look forward to new features as they roll out. Keep up the good work.

By

Good very good, but one suggestion.

I think the web browser is very good, i like the desktop tab style and the side pane , but one feature that’s missing that I really would like to see is default webpage zoom , as I don’t like how on iPad most websites make their menus massive so I would love to have the ability to change user interface and webpage default zoom levels! Thanks

By

Good mobile app

Really like Vivaldi on iOS so far, only thing I wish was a feature was the ability to move the address and tab bar down to the bottom of the screen. It is nice to have buttons that do the same but I like it how safari brings it to the bottom of the screen

By

Few suggestions

1. Option for search bar on the bottom.
2. Widget. Hint, a browser that I won’t name but ends in “ve” has a great widget where you can chose your search engine on a click every time you do a search. Do something similar.

By

Gets better with every update!

I downloaded Vivaldi for iOS a few months ago, used it for a bit, but then missed the bottom tab bar too much and switched back to a different browser that blocks ads made by crypto-bros.

I switched back to Vivaldi because I thought, who cares about a bottom tab bar when everything else about the browser works so well?

For example, do you know how few browsers that fully support handoff between MacOS and iOS? There's Safari, the one that refuses to hide ads and tracks everything you do, and Vivaldi, and might be another, but I don't think so. Vivaldi for the win on that one.

Then along comes the 6.5 update for iOS and what do we get? A bottom tab bar. Oh, and they fixed where you couldn't select the second app icon, but didn't bother mentioning it, but still that's a pretty nice little bug fix squeezed in.

Seriously, the best browser out there, for iOS, MacOS, and Windows.

By

my favorite!

ever since i first decided to switch in August of this year, i haven’t looked back since switching to vivaldi. everything’s customizable, it’s kept really minimalistic, and it’s private. everything’s encrypted, and vivaldi doesn’t track you, unlike other companies… if you’re tired of the other browsers, vivaldi’s a great choice.

By

Vivaldi best for iOS

Everything seems so much easier with Vivaldi. I love how easy it is to log on to sites, my passwords remembered and entered for me. Also how my bookmarks and other things are synced with all my machines. It’s out of the way until you need it. All other browsers are gone! Vivaldi is all I need! Good job Vivaldi.

By

Hands down the best browser I have ever used

Intuitive, constantly updated with usable features, epic tab management…EPIC.
Lightweight. I can have hundreds of tabs open without impacting speed. I’m not sure how I got anything done before Vivaldi. If you’re not using this browser, you should be.
To the Vivaldi team: I’m pretty sure I owe you my first born. You’re just that great.

By

Fun and efficient browser

It’s hard to go wrong with 3rd party mobile browsers nowadays. So many options are available with ad-blocking and syncing. Pick one and go.

But it’s nice to have so many features with Vivaldi. I like the UI layout for the address bar better than Opera. It’s good to have a browser that’s not mired in some CEO’s politics like a different browser. The desktop version is so customizable and, apparently, so is the iOS version. I can make my own theme? Amazing. Being able to access my bookmarks and reading list from the desktop version is also great.

My only complaint is the custom app icon isn’t working for me on iOS 17.1.2 but I’m sure that’ll get patched. And icons are customizable via Apple’s shortcuts feature anyway.

By

Suggestion and Pro-Tip

It would be nice for more options from the PC version of Vivaldi to be added to VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser , the option to omit Bookmarks from the main search bar’s autofill being the one I’m most particular to. Since the dedicated Bookmarks sidebar has its own search bar, having Bookmarks also fill up space elsewhere is just redundant.

Also, if you enable the ‘Ask to Open Links from Other Apps in Private’ option in Settings > Security and Privacy, you can prohibit slimy, mis-tap exploiting ads from other apps from forcibly opening tabs in Vivaldi, which is a great feature that all phone/tablet web browsers should have.

By

My favourite iOS browser by far!

Vivaldi only recently arrived in the iOS App Store, but it is already the best browser I’ve tried on iOS - especially for iPad. Very configurable, great interface, and simple to navigate. Ever since I installed it, I’ve found myself accessing a lot of apps via the web browser instead of via local apps on the device, just because the experience in Vivaldi is so good and tab switching is so easy. Absolutely recommend!

By

Great but needs performance tuning

I love Vivaldi, I’ve began using it on all my devices. A few months ago when I heard about the mobile apps release I was excited and made it my main phone browser. Whilst it’s great most of the time, it’s performance is its largest flaw. At times if I have more than 4-5 tabs open it will be laggy and potentially crash. I’ve used Firefox, Chrome, Safari and I have never had that issue with those. Maybe some way to handle non focused webpages better could do some good. Otherwise I love Vivaldi and am excited to keep supporting its development.

By

Significant sluggish when the address bar coming in and out in screen scrolling

Bug: As shown in title. I guess it is a animation frame drops but not sure. When it becomes worse, I quit VivaldiPowerfulWebBrowser , clean the background app, and open it again, it becomes normal and smooth.
Device: iPhone 15 pro max with 120hz screen, not sure whether it is related to the frame rate of the screen.

Please please fix this bug, feel free to contact me if you need my help to diagnose or give you a screen record or something.

By

I want to love it

Vivaldi is distributed by a great organization. I use their product on the desktop on Linux at home and on Windows at work. It works well there. I’d love to use it on mobile, but there are a few things that prevent me from doing so.
1) Performance in my iPhone 12. Page loads are painfully slow on my iPhone 12. In safari I measure most page loads by the millisecond. Vivaldi often takes multiple seconds, sometimes over 5.
2) Password integration. I don’t use the Vivaldi password manager. I use a more robust dedicated password manager that is enabled through iOS settings as the password manager used system wide. Vivaldi usually respects this, but doesn’t 100% of the time. It also always displays the Vivaldi password manager whenever I am prompted for a password, which takes up valuable screen real estate.
3) Screen time integration. Vivaldi doesn’t follow screen time limits, which is problematic because I use apps to help me manage and limit my screen time on different websites (shoutout ScreenZen, it rocks).

Because of these reasons I’ll have to go back to safari. Vivaldi just doesn’t suit my needs, despite being great software from a great company.

By

Using Vivaldi since last year

I’m so glad to see Vivaldi finally be on iOS! It’s one of the strongest browsers around right now, leading above Brave and Aloha browsers. It keeps my accounts secure, I can manage everything from a single settings dashboard, and I can even control my data across machines I have Vivaldi logged into. Vivaldi should be the next top choice in web clients for anyone, let alone standing as a force to be reckoned with.
Pro tip: the adblocker works great, across ALL media ;) ;). Happy surfin, web surfers!

By

Great but...

The only problem and feedback I have:

- Pages load Very slowly as compared to other mobile browsers. I click a link, it takes seconds to load as opposed to a second or two on others. Idk what exactly is doing that, but it is causing me to want to switch away again.

- Feedback: Wish I had a Send Tab to Device option. The Cloud option is there and is nice but not convenient to get to. Plus I'm just used to sending tabs back and forth between devices.

After taking the time to customize Vivaldi to my liking, nothing comes close

I wanted privacy, ad block, a chromium base, and cross device synchronization and wow does this deliver. The amount of customization this browser platform offers is unparalleled. Learning and setting up speed dial took some time but I can say it has been worth it. I found chrome, safari, brave, edge etc. to not be ideal for syncing across iOS, windows and Mac platforms and bar none this browser takes the cake.

By

Stellar browser all around

I have been using the Vivaldi browser on desktop on and off since like 2017, I have absolutely been adoring the changes in the last year or so. After I made the decision to switch from Firefox to Vivaldi about a year ago, I’ve been non stop recommending to my friends and family. I showed the tab stacking feature to my dad (this was before all other browsers took notice), and he really liked it. I also love the way Vivaldi does tab stacking. If you are looking for a new browser to switch to, or just wanna try something different, you’ve come to the right place, this browser is the best I’ve ever used.
