House of the Dragon: DracARys Reviews

AR burns through my battery like dragon fire, causing me to only be able to keep my app open for five minutes at most before overheating my phone and crashing. There’s no actual tutorial either, it’s like “tap, talk, and feed” till your dragon learns one new trick for the day, come back tomorrow. Not to mention, to my fellow ASOIAF readers: the dragons do not breathe same color fire as their scales :( the dragons do look good though their limbs are super flimsy when “walking around” their surroundings.

Dear Developers,
Please give a toggle to turn AR off into a Westeros-like background setting would be extremely helpful, and a low graphics/power toggle too. As well as giving us audio settings as well, and signing up with a designated account because I’ve deleted and redownloaded HouseoftheDragon then learned the hard way that i wasn’t getting my original dragon back, and had to say goodbye to the dragon I worked so hard to raise.

It’s fun to raise a dragon and have it learn and grow. It’s keeping me entertained even though I’ve never watched a single episode of GoT. I know it’s been just released and there may be bugs but something has to be done about HouseoftheDragon heating up the phone. I have the latest Apple device and iOS but HouseoftheDragon gets the phone hot to where I shut HouseoftheDragon down and play something else. I used AR in many other games from many other companies and this hasn’t happened on those games. Sure it’s just a bug but it limits my play time with the game.

I got it early during comic con. It’s really cool to see your little buddy grow. But other than that there’s not much in HouseoftheDragon. I’m a huge fan of dragons and the books and the show. That being said, there’s really not much to do in HouseoftheDragon apart from feeding your dragon and teaching your dragon some commands. After your dragon grows that’s pretty much it. HouseoftheDragon has a lot of potential. Would be nice to add mini games or missions in the future. Or even battling. But seeing that HouseoftheDragon was developed by the same people who made the my Daemon app another AR app promo for another show, I highly doubt any updates will happen in the future. HouseoftheDragon purpose is to promote the show. But I’m still hopeful that they will pay attention to HouseoftheDragon and update it.

I really have fun with HouseoftheDragon. The only downside is that the photos for the milestones are taken automatically and sometimes they're not great. I wish we could change the photos. Also maybe a tutorial on what your finger movements do? I just accidentally disciplined my dragon without knowing what it is I did that caused that action. And I don’t want a mean dragon. Lol Also the AR could be more responsive to things in the environment. Though I know that’s really hard.

I have had so much fun with HouseoftheDragon. And, thankfully I have not had the problems I have read in some reviews. I would like to know how to pronounce my dragon's name in valerian (Vicatanor).
Everything else has been great! My dragon will fly on command, cook his own food and has eaten a goat in the grasslands. I pet him frequently and you can see how much he likes it. I think it's really cute when he lays down after he eats and takes a nap. I can hear him softly breathing. Great job creating HouseoftheDragon!

This game is incredibly for what it is currently! It just came out so bugs and glitches are good be expected however the concept of it is excellent. I’m very excited to grow own dragon and learn Valerian that the Targaryens use for their dragons! I believe this game will be amazing if they keep working on it!

Ideas-
1.) After a lot of glitches and bugs are fixed, have a thing where your friends dragons and yours can meet each other/interact. Basically if you’re playing with someone next to you, you can invite them to have both dragons on both your screens.
2.) Have Grand Masters research new skills for you to teach your dragons, in combat.
3.) Kinda along the lines of the first and second one, once your dragon gets big enough to fight other dragons, allow players to fight dragons.

While I understand HouseoftheDragon is fairly fresh and new features could be added along the way; outside of feeding your dragon, and walking it around a little bit, there isn’t much here to keep you playing for more than a few minutes a day. This game burns through your battery like wildfire and I wish there was a way to turn the AR off, similar to Pokémon Go. Though I love the idea of raising my very own GoT dragon, maybe my expectations were a little too high coming into this. Hopefully there is some QoL improvements and additions down the line!

HouseoftheDragon is fun and much like the old tamagotchi toys, your attachment to your dragon makes you want to open HouseoftheDragon to see how your dragon’s doing.

The realism is amazing; the longer you use HouseoftheDragon , the hotter the iPhone gets! It’s like your dragon is ACTUALLY blowing fire at you!

There’s still quite a few bugs with the AR and HouseoftheDragon itself that need to be hammered out before you could call this playable. I can’t even open the “milestones” page in the bottom left hand corner without my app freezing and crashing every single time. The game keeps telling me I’ll find something new for my dragon to eat while outside but no matter how far I walk around, nothing pops up. I want to like this game- a virtual dragon game sounds like a fun concept. However HouseoftheDragon just doesn’t work, so it’s hard to enjoy.

I’m not a GoT fan but I am a dragon fan. I will say it does crash for me sometimes (usually if I need to switch between apps), but the details are awesome and the dragons are cool! I like using the commands for the dragon, and I cannot wait to see if more will come. I signed up for a news program so I hope that means there will be more.

Love the concept of an AR dragon game. But they could have done so much to this. For example, pvp/pve, more dragon variety, since this game is based on HOTD they could’ve added more dragons like the kinds of dany’s dragons, caraxes etc… instead of just different colors. Graphics is great but could use and improvement. Maybe someday

Listen. I love GOT like everyone else and I was super psyched for this game— but there is A LOT of both technical and graphical issues here that really need to be addressed and fixed. It’s a very high power running app, more so than Pokémon. Your phone will overheat quickly and drain fast.

Dragons are EXTREMELY glitchy. And by glitchy I mean GLITCHY. Sometimes they stretch into very weird shapes, glitch through the floors or into cabinets for example. You can see them a lot of the time.

There’s not much to do either than pet it once and feed it a raw piece of meat for it to cook.

Very boring and not very interactive.

Mediocre 3 score from me. It was a nice concept. The execution is terrible.

HouseoftheDragon is really good and I love how it turned out. The only drawback I’ve had issues with was the battery life, it really eats your phone battery a lot and it would be nice to add something to conserve battery while on HouseoftheDragon .

I deleted and redownloaded to get a different dragon but now my dragons age is 89 days… which would be impossible given release date. Will future updates correct age, weight issues?

So I was using and enjoying HouseoftheDragon even with all the glitches in HouseoftheDragon and the fact that it drains the battery faster than I can blink. The latest update tells me it’s not compatible with my phone any longer. What the heck!!!!! I have an iPhone 10 that has plenty of space and works great. Why would you make an update that only uses certain model iPhones? Pretty crappy decision!

How does the progress percentage work? Because I’ve been stuck at 87% hatchling for a while now and can’t get past it.

HouseoftheDragon is glitchy. But it’s new, so I’m willing to overlook that and hope it gets better. But I named my dragon Stargazyr and it changed it to Starhanyra, which is really stupid. And it won’t let me change it!! Trying to figure out how to delete and start over. Just remove and redownload HouseoftheDragon , or…??

I reached the fly command a few days ago and taken my dragon multiple places, only for nothing to happen, no new commands or guidelines for what to do next to grow him. He’s been stuck at the same development percent for days. What am I supposed to do now?

At first the dragon was raising without HouseoftheDragon having to be open. Now I’ve been stuck at 20% juvenile. There isn’t anything to do that’s worth keeping HouseoftheDragon running. You feed if hungry. Let it fly or let it sleep.

But it crashes every few moments. Once it stops crashing and the bugs are fixed it seems like it’ll be great.

I love dragons and the a song of ice and fire world. It would be really nice if this game added anything more than the initial egg choosing and training process. I like the giving commands in Valyrian but it’s frustrating that I have to wait for the game to “teach” me them instead of being able to use whichever Valyrian words from the get go. The AR is really wonky and has my dragon clipping out constantly. It either needs some big improvement or the option to turn AR off and have a background generate. Also when I first loaded the game and chose my egg it bugged out to the point I had to close HouseoftheDragon . When I reopened HouseoftheDragon it had me choose eggs again, not having the colour egg I’d chosen before. Then when I named it the game chose a completely different and random name for my dragon. Would love for this to be a good fleshed out app with some ASOIAF worldbuilding and dragons in it.

My husband and I both downloaded HouseoftheDragon when House of the Dragon came out. It was good to start, but now that our dragons have “grown” to fitting outside of household spaces, HouseoftheDragon is really messing up for both of us. When it’s not glitching, the dragon will not come out of the sky due to spatial recognition issues. It seems like HouseoftheDragon is having a hard time recognizing certain planes (fence, house) & the dragon won’t ever land & just goes back into the sky. Whenever it does manage to “land”, HouseoftheDragon glitches so much the commands no longer work, or HouseoftheDragon freezes my entire phone up. Pretty tired of it at this point.

I was very excited about HouseoftheDragon when I saw the add for it after last weeks episode. I downloaded HouseoftheDragon but unfortunately I’m not impressed. My dragon has grown and learned new commands, however when my dragon flies he’s not flying around the sky he just “floats” it sounds like he is flapping his wings and gliding through the sky but in reality he is just in the same spot on my phone. That’s boring.

In addition there are no instructions, no goals to achieve, no interactions with other dragons. I’ve only seen one dragon since I started taking my dragon outside and that dragon seemed to fly and move around like what expected but my little boy just stayed in the same spot on my screen.

There is nothing to strive for here or do and when I walk around my dragon is on the same spot as well I couldn’t go for a walk because my dragon needs to be in the screen for me to give him a command.

The idea is great but doesn’t seem like there was really a test done on HouseoftheDragon , it’s as if they were just banking on the name to get as many downloads as possible to receive more funding. Gonna delete. Not worth the space on my phone or battery life.

One of the best features is not only raising your own unique, beautiful dragon but you soon begin spotting dragons from all over the world. By joining the Reddit forum, I was able to share pics of one of the dragons I spotted flying over my house with its owner, neat :)
The forum is also a great reference area if you’d like an idea of which eggs hatch what type of dragon. Looking for a specific color, for example, check there before U snatch an egg. Hope this helps.

Im am so disappointed👎🏾. Ive been playing HouseoftheDragon everyday for the last 2 months trying to grow my dragon to an adult and beyond. Got my dragon to 80% to adult, and today HouseoftheDragon reset, a complete waste of my time and effort. Developers is there a way for you to restore my data so I can get my dragon back? This is why there needs to be accounts so that folks dont have to start over if they have a new device or if something’s goes wrong, users should be able to restore their dragon since its takes so long to grow them. Can someone please help me get my dragon back??? If not I will not be wasting my time playing this game if there is no support.

I wish that we could get more than one dragon or the dragons can have genders and you can breed them if you have a male and female to get more and other people who have HouseoftheDragon you can see their dragons in the world and maybe be able to battle them or something like that because you can’t really do that much beside feed and teach them new trick which is cool but still and also maybe once they get old enough you can make it to where you can like get in the dragon and fly in the air and see different places

HouseoftheDragon definitely could be fantastic! It’s great to pick your dragon egg and see your little guy grow up. But it needs a few things. For one, we should be able to use a name of our own choosing. Also, it would be cool to turn of AR sometimes and have a Planetos world to explore. Also, some kind of skills tests or missions would be great.

It DEFINITELY needs a tutorial! There’s no way to know what to do when opening HouseoftheDragon aside from giving the dragon scritches and feeding him/her.

I don’t want to uninstall and reinstall to hatch another dragon. I don’t want to lose my previous dragon that I spent so long on growing and bonding with. I love my dragon. But after growing it, there’s nothing else to do. What, so it’s a one time use kind of game? Give us more to do. I feel like an endless supply of hatching dragons after one is grown is the easiest way to go about it. It keeps us busy with new baby dragons to take care of.

It’s great and all but I wish there was a bit more achievements to get or more things to do with your dragon. Also with there was more variation of dragon models (love the current ones though) a bit glitchy as the dragon phases through the world. But otherwise beautiful and really cool I appreciate the thought, the time, and the effort put into this AR game.

I have to agree with the person who wrote the first review of HouseoftheDragon. I have had HouseoftheDragon for maybe 2 weeks and the only 2 commands “ come” and to breath’s fire if anyone has any idea how to do more commands let me know and as for you the developers create updates invent some quest and adventures

So this game is pretty fun. I know it would take a while but I have something that would be awesome to add. You could make it so that you could create a world and you could look at it like it was you riding the dragon. But you would have to make it have amazing graphics because that should be what is expected. Again it would take a long time to do but it would be worth it. Also I understand if you don’t.
