Won’t load backup

I lost my phone about a week ago and got a new one. Redownloaded RPGNotebook and went to restore a backup I had and I get the spinning wheel that says loading data and nothing happens. It just sits there like that for ages and never actually loads.

Broken

I wondered why RPGNotebook only had 2 reviews in 4 years. It didn’t take me longer than 4 minutes of using RPGNotebook to find out. Broken ads that literally won’t even let you close them without opening their links. No thank you.

Info farming

There's no other reason you should have to sign up and pay for what's basically a notepad app. China has enough of your information already, you don't have to make it easier for them. Ya know what's better than paying for a subscription to a notebook app? Buying an ACTUAL NOTEBOOK. For like, $1.

Works but the ads

This works well for tracking my solo campaign. My complaint is that the type of ads that are shown in the free version are unacceptable. I’ve been shown gambling and p*rn cam site ads.
I know money needs to be made but I and people younger than me should not be unwillingly exposed to such content.

Simple but could be great

The linking of maps is a great start but it always starts zoomed in on the upper left corner. If linking could be made better if when you clicked a link it would zoom into that exact spot on the linked map.

Adding more markers for things such as shops and other points of interest would be great along with the option add a scene that isn’t a map. You could also list npcs for those POI’s.

Add a NPC section and make it so you can attach them to certain maps.

Update: found map editor

Still figuring everything out but seems to be more intuitive than I thought. UI still need a little work though.

Flexible but doesn’t sync

I really like RPGNotebook as it’s pretty flexible for the different kinds of rpgs. However it doesn’t sync between my iPad and iPhone which is an issue for me.

I LOVE this app

RPG Notebook helps me map out plot points, dungeons, towns and more. I love that it’s free and easy to use. I recommend it for anyone running a Role Playing Game.

Awesome app, really helpful but still in beta!

RPGNotebook is amazing especially for a beta, RPGNotebook is still has its flaws but so does every app, it’s good for a dm especially if you love organizing.

Incredibly useful tool

This is honestly one of the best GM tools I’ve seen on the AppStore. I love to use RPGNotebook to organize all of my ideas that I come up with inbetween sessions as a GM. The icons are great and the colors are very customizable!

Not limited to D&D

I was looking for an app to help with being a game master for the old West End Games Star Wars D6 RPG, which came out years before there was an internet, when everything we did was on paper notebooks. Everything I could find out there was heavily leaning towards D&D or Pathfinder.
RPGNotebook is awesome! All the ways things can link, and the myriad ways you can organize assets like NPCs and maps and towns and continents and worlds and star systems, it’s just very open to working with you and not limiting how you do things. It lets me organize all my assets in a way that makes sense to me, and then I can write up an episode overview that has the links to all the assets I might use so that with a touch of a button, I have the right description for the book shop my characters are entering or the NPC they need to get information from.
The developer is also very responsive.
Highly recommended!

Recent Updates Cause Total Crash

With the recent updates, RPGNotebook no longer opens completely before crashing out.

Great simple Campaign app

So far I really like RPGNotebook, simple to use, and I’m able to do a brief layout of the campaign, creating my own “folders” for different things.
Something I would like to see is some world building tools, something to kind of combine the campaigns together. I have a few different campaigns that I’ve added, but having something to build on my lore of my world it self would be nice. I have homebrew rules that are not campaign specific, right now I just have all my rules set as its own campaign section. Also the ability for my campaigns to almost be linked to each other, so if I want to reference a NPC I could search in one campaign and have it take me to that NPC from the other campaign.

Great app for organization!

I’ve been using RPGNotebook to take notes for multiple campaigns and I love it! It’s so customizable and not expensive and it’s awesome!
One suggestion: let us draw on the maps that we upload! It would be so nice to be able to annotate those!

Perfect TTRPG Note Keeping

I love RPGNotebook. It’s amazing for my ttrpg games, and I have a hard time taking notes without it. The only thing that I think could make RPGNotebook better, is the ability to invite or share your notes with other players with RPGNotebook . I would never need another note keeping app. Despite this single flaw, I do love RPGNotebook.

Great app for dm’s and players - would be perfect with inventory management

This has been the most organized I’ve been as a player in a campaign. And I use the sci-fi one for our sci-fi campaign, I was pleasantly surprised to see that was included. I would love an option to add a counter to manage inventory item number for my character, that would make RPGNotebook absolutely perfect, but it’s so good as is.

One of the BEST apps for D&D!

As soon as I started using RPGNotebook I loved it! The UI is clean and you can find things quickly.
The tags are so so helpful! And it keeps track of any entry or folder names so when you mention them in your journal notes it will highlight it and you can tap it and it will take you to that entry or folder. It’s perfect for both dms and players! Thank you to the developers for this wonderful app!!!

Amazing app, but one suggestion

I have thoroughly been enjoying RPGNotebook and would absolutely recommend it due to it’s ability to organize content cleanly. I do, however have a suggestion.

I would personally like to see a sort of clean “preview” of ALL of the entry’s content. What I mean by this:

Currently, when opening an entry, the content that you have written for it is displayed in an editable text box with an option to preview the text you have entered for that section of content only (for example, the “Description” section). I personally think it would be better to have a formatted preview of ALL of the content sections at once upon opening the entry, similar to what WorldAnvil has. Then, have the current layout with the editable text boxes and such behind an edit section.

I apologize if there is already a way to do this, but if there is, I could not find out how.

Again, RPGNotebook is great. It has given me the ability to actually have a well organized D&D world/campaign.

Perfect

Love how organized it keeps my campaigns!! Perfect for any system and campaign type.

Wish maps opened in the center instead of the top right and I also wish it had a dedicated section for NPCs. But overall very good
