RealVNC Server Reviews

RealVNCServer is being used to scam people. Fake Customer service numbers for reputable companies are snagging people, then using RealVNCServer to record your screen. I tried to get a return label and somehow was charged $500 for Apple gift cards. Thankfully I was able to shut down the transactions and have notified my bank and credit card companies. Developers: you know this is being used to scam people. Ethically you bear some of the responsibility. I may have gotten my money back but I lost 2+ hours trying to stop the scam.

I googled apple support, called and ended up going down a rabbit whole that included downloading RealVNCServer. It wasn’t until the guy started saying he was going to talk me through fixing my security that i saw a red flag. I hung up, deleted RealVNCServer and changed my passwords. I’m usually good at sorting scams but because I called support I thought I was fine. BEWARE.

Apple support does not use RealVNCServer
It is not approved by Apple support these are hackers
Trying to get you to send money
Reported RealVNCServer to Apple as fraudulent
Apple support does not recognize RealVNCServer for customer service
Representatives are from India they started using foul language when I did not transfer money. From my savings to my bank account
And when I questioned if they were Apple we were disconnected but they had my password word contacted Apple

I called Apple support what I thought was apple support clearly wasn’t, the person had me download RealVNCServer and wanted me to verify myself from my camera naked! I went off then dude proceeded to try and bribe me to show him my breast! RealVNCServer is for scammers and perverts and needs to be taken down immediately!

I was also targeted for a scam using RealVNCServer by people pretending to be Apple Support. Beware — RealVNCServer may or may not be useful or legit as an app in itself, but there are absolutely scammers out there asking people to download this for screen share posing as Apple tech support. I did report the incident to actual Apple.

i called apple to get help for my apple pay issue and scammers skimmed the line and before they give me answer of my issue he wants me to download RealVNCServer and while doing this i was reading reviews and instantly cut the call

RealVNCServer should be discontinued and not made available. Like all of the other reviews I was just scammed by Indian people pretending to be Apple support. I googled Apple support number and mysteriously got a fake 512 number and called. They too tried to get me to send a Venmo and Apple gift cards.

This should be should be SHUT DOWN because it enables scamming.

They tried to tell me they worked for Apple when they asked me to download this. Then they asked me to type in $500 after asking to view my Pay Pal Account. They tried to tell me it would translate into points after I hit done. In the end i realized these people were trying to scam me. They finally hung up on me. DO NOT FALL FOR THESE PEOPLE

I was just trying to get the peacock TV app and I was channeled to somebody who told me to get on the rvnc app to continue my purchase - The hoops he had me jump through was like detonating a bomb - only to find that he was trying to get Apple gift cards sent to him!!! do not use RealVNCServer.- for the folks in the back: DO NOT USE RealVNCServer!! it is used by frauds and scammers!!

RealVNCServer is pretty much a scam itself. I was told to download this and I have to deactivate my cash app card because I was being screen recorded for my information. It is truly sad that people like this exist. The funny thing is I had no money on my cash app and so they couldn’t benefit from me if they wanted to😭 jokes on them

This is absolutely ridiculous. I was trying to get technical help with my Apple, smart phone and my Apple sign in and somebody posing to be Apple assisted me in opening up my phone to help me fix the phone and didn’t do that instead he was in my phone and got all my banking information and is making purchases through thisapp do not use RealVNCServer

Scam
I called apple about my phone yesterday and me thinking I was on the phone with apple it was scammers. They remote into my phone with some recoding device and told me to download RealVNCServer. I was lucky after being on the phone with them and they tried to get me to send money to them. They tried to convince me. Luckily my bank detected fraud
Please be careful do not use RealVNCServer!!

I went to Google where I number was there for Apple support and I called and the dude I talked to was very convincing that he’d send me my money back if my bank account had $500 in it. He had me download RealVNCServer. Seemed so legit at first, then when I said that I looked the number up & saw scam. I deleted RealVNCServer and blocked the number right away and reported the number. Watch out!

This was used by someone impersonating Apple Support. To commit fraud. Had money taken from one account. And tried to get my credit card information as well. I’m sure even after I had removed this fraudulent app from my phone it’s still spying on my accounts got a new card that I hadn’t even used yet and my bank froze that card as well. Because I can only give 1 star as the lowest rate I’d give it a ZERO STARS

No no no no!!! Its fake!!

You get men in India frantically trying to direct you to show them your bank accounts and private information, so they can drain your accounts. They wanted such inappropriate information. Apple confirmed they are a scam operation. When you question them they get pathetic and more insistent to see your data. “ Broadcast to us! “ They just need you to broadcast for them. They try to brow beat you if you question why they are trying to get personal information. This is fake and crazy. Wow.

Pathetic parasites trying to capture personal data. Why is RealVNCServer still active and why hasn’t Apple announced the scheme yet? They are actively diverting Apple support calls. Do not download!

thank you to those that left reviews, called apple support, got routed to someone who requested we download RealVNCServer and it was incredibly suspicious. called on my own phone, followed his instructions, and he hung up. called on my moms phone, followed the instructions and was asked to use the camera to verify identity, when we asked why that was necessary he started YELLING for us to “JUST DO IT” and we immediately hung up, blocked the numbers, and deleted RealVNCServer . 100% WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE

if I could put a lower star rating I would. I tried talking to “Apple support” to fix a WIFI ISSUE on my iPad and the guy had me download RealVNCServer to view my iPhone screen. I was asked to go into my settings and personal information in addition to being asked my age and banking information (he tried to get me to open my bank account for a two-factor authentication when I had a issue with connecting to wifi). THIS IS A SCAM DONT DOWNLOAD FOR ANY REASON LOOK AT THE RATINGS FIRST. PLEASE.‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️

Scammers use this to get into your phone to take $ from your Apple, Venmo & cash apps. They will ask you for a person to be a 2nd verification and the scam will pass along to them. If you are asked to download RealVNCServer. Hang up immediately!!!

I work in IT and use this constantly to help my colleagues, not to mention being support for friends and my family.

RealVNCServer is indispensable to provide help when you can actually see what the person you’re trying to help is actually seeing.

For those complaining about getting scammed, I recommend using common sense. If you need support from Apple, look at their website for contact information, not Google or any other site. If someone calls you about a “problem” you’re having-hang up. No tech company is going to call you-they don’t work that way.

The users posting about scams and leaving 1 star reviews are so ignorant.

So YOU installed an app bc a stranger told you to… But RealVNCServer is at fault?!? Would you go crash your car bc the scammers told you to?

RealVNCServer has been around since PCs had windows 2000.

Learn to read up on an app before installing it. Also analyze the situation before allowing strangers to access your phone.
