Bizarre words, bad settings

Word games live and die on their dictionary. By 10 words in, I had already encountered two obscure ‘gotcha’ words. That kind of thing might make you as developers feel clever, but after years of playing word games, I recognize the lack of quality in using something like that. Add to this the fact that players can “earn” distracting backgrounds and the fact that there’s setting for dark mode that only works in the setting menu, and I am happy to give this game a pass. Wordle lovers, you should too.
HATE the New Update

I used to absolutely love this app. Played it all the time. Then they updated it. Before the update, five letter words could not have a repeat usage of a letter in the word. It’s the reason I chose this app. Now, I’ve had words like “serve,” “check,” and “swoon.” This angers me greatly because I had played the game for over a thousand levels and got used to a letter only being allowed once in a word. I got infuriated when I got the word “error.” Triple usage of the same letter!! I have now stopped playing. I can’t stand it anymore. Either change it back or make it a setting option where a single letter can only be used once per word. I guess it doesn’t have to be update related and could have to do with me passing 1000 levels, but either way I hate it so much.
Needs Some Improvements

The game is certainly challenging. However, part of the challenge is simply because the game is unfair right off the bat. As I see it there are three things that need to changed.
First and foremost, the dictionary needs to be updated. I’ve tried to submit too many words that are definitely words that weren’t counted.
Second, an option needs to be available for different English dialects, particularly US and UK English. They’re distinct and different and an option for each needs to be present.
Third, let’s talk about proper nouns. I can understand including geographical proper nouns like “Canada” and “Europe.” But including common names like “Robert” is pretty ridiculous.
These are simple changes that would make the game more enjoyable and worthy of a 5 star rating. As it is, the game is not deserving of it.
