Total Time Waster!!

I've never had a bookmark manager be this bad at basic things. Read lot of reviews and pumped about lifetime price, bought it and in less than 12 hours I want my money back. Extensions do not work in Chrome or Safari, so I am forced to manually add through their clipboard copy, and then it will not allow you to name the bookmark...lol. There are dozens of apps more useful than this. I could use any Notes app and get better functionality. I would like my money back please.

Not really that helpful

So, I read teh reviews and people talked about this being a replacement for Raindrop but it is not. This is more a digital horders app. As a bookmanager it is a pain as you can save a link by clicking on the web extension, but then you have to open Anybox and move it to a collection.

Also, importing takes a very very very long time. I have just over 2300 bookmarks and even though I told it to make collections it did not so, I spent 4hrs going through them and making collections again, moving bookmarks and such.

On the topic collections, how in the world do you edit the collections for a link. I tried to follow the documentation but once I had a collection misassigned I could never remove it. So, even the collection aspect was a pain.

I really hate writing bad reviews, but for a collection management app this did not make the mark. As a bookmark app trying to replace raindrop no where close to that. Anybox though is coded well, and takes very little resources so giving it at least two stars for that.

Looks nice, not so nice in use

The interface looks nice, but Anybox falls down at the crucial first step of saving content. It saves links, but I could not get it to save pdf’s or web archives (I would prefer an editable format like Markdown anyway). It appears to default to saving a jpeg screenshot, which is useless most of the time. It won’t let you save a given link more than once, which is counter productive if you want to save different formats, even if you delete the link entry- you have to delete it from the trash. Please note this is not really a good tool for saving all kinds of content, it’s really focused on links. I think it’s pricey for what you get. There are cheaper alternatives which work well.

Asks for too much data

I've just started using it, the Safari plugin asks to read data off every page I browse it seems, which feels like overkill, when I'm not asking it to save from those pages.
I neither want to give an app I don't know carte blanche to enter and gather data from everywhere I brose, nor do I want to constantly have to click more approval boxes, that are unrelated to anything I wish to do.
I'm gonna give it a day, but this is starting very, very badly.

A bit too much

Anybox works just fine. It’d be nice if it got some more basics in place, like manual reordering of URLs that you save.

Raycast extension is awesome!

Other than that, it gives you Anydock, Pasteboard, Stash Box… and some other words I didn’t remember. It’s also a Note taking app, and saves Files and Images. All those things are for power users and have little to do with saving and organizing bookmarks. And, in that sense, it’s a bit too much.

Now, of course, it’s $40 if you don’t want a subscription. And for that much functionality, the price is more than fair. But I just feel like it’s overwhelming if you just want to save links. And that is another point where I feel it’s a bit too much.

On a Free plan, you get all the features, but can save just 50 links. Unlimited if you buy.

This is just a personal opinion, and how I feel towards this app pricing:

I’d gladly pay $20 for saving unlimited links. Without saving Files, saving Images, Note taking, Anydock, Stash Box… just saving links in folders, that’s all. And then $40 could be everything unlocked, for power users.

All in all, Anybox works great, but, for me, who just wants to manage links, there’s a bit too much of functionality, and therefore the price. And if you’re a power user and need all of it - go for it!

Very good app with confusing nomenclature

After comparing a few others, I settled on this app. It is really nice and fits my workflow of saving URLs for later use much better. That said, and as another user also mentioned, the "tags" implementation is poor. A better term would be 'Folders'. Nesting tags doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Ideally, the current "Tags" view in the side panel should be called 'Folders'. Also, it should be easy to assign multiple tags in one go. Right now, if I want to add two or more tags and try to separate them with a comma, it just creates a new single tag of that name. Currently, to apply multiple tags, you have to choose and select each one, one at a time.

I hope the developers of this program update this aspect of Anybox .

Almost perfect!

- Love that I can do a lot without opening Anybox by long press Anybox !
- allow me to add different types of info and link them together
- but.. I wish that it can also saves highlights and links of a page like omnivore and raindrop.
- also integration with obsidian would be make it even better!

Wasn't sure if I needed...now I use it all the time

This is such a well-designed app that helps reduce bookmark clutter. Instead of adding a new bookmark to an already extensive list of them, I can simply share to this app, assign a tag if I want, and move on. And there it is later, on my Mac and iPad and iPhone. Maybe there are similar apps, but I don't need to bother looking for them because this one has already become essential to my workflow. Kudos to the developer!

Seriously try this app

This is simply game changer. A beautifully designed and feature packed bookmark manager (though it also supports other data types). Some of the features that separate this app from others is the automation (quickfind, raycast extension, deeplinks) and archive options you have available. The archive options and integration alone make such a huge difference.

I highly recommend Anybox.

Outstanding Scriptable Native Pinboard/Raindrop replacement

Just perfect. A beautiful native app for both mac and iOS, works just how you expect it to, imports form everything, and lets you keep additional text/image files in there too just for reference. Built in quick find, and hugely extensible via launchers. Lifetime payment is more than a fair price too, given the incredibly active development.

If you’re looking for more control over your saved links, this is absolutely what you’re looking for.

Best-in-class bookmarking manager

this app is the bookmarking manager I have wanted for years and has quickly become an essential tool in my workflow. Anybox 's easy in / easy out philosophy with global shortcuts, URL schemes, and AppleScript support helps it to integrate seamlessly with other apps and existing workflows. This is a best-in-class app that I hope to use for years to come!

Wow

This is Bookmark app is even better than I realized when I purchased it. The iCloud sync is literally perfect! And the customization options are deep, thoughtful, and well integrated throughout Anybox . The tag and folder system are particularly well thought out and this app is, perhaps, the speediest app of its kind when tagging links—tags come up instantaneously as typed. There seems to be no cruft or lag in Anybox, and I am beyond pleased with how well it works and how organized my links have become. The delightful touches are many.

Not cheap but works

ts a great bookmark manager, over priced and i dont need the dock feature. Just use it for a better boomark manager.

like $30 seems excessive but reluctantly i bit. Syncs to icloud which i like.

Update: You can easily alphabetize although its hidden right click on collections then sort by.

The broken link checker works. sort of. Some of the links it said were dead still worked? And it would be nice to have it check these in the background and then just put them in a dead links collection to manage when you have time.

Still all around the best bookmark manager i've seen!

Feature Rich, intuitive and incredibly useful

Rather that drag video thumbnails to my desktop or drop into a folder on my Mac this app is a superb repositry for all the impoortant bookmarks in my business and home life. The ability to catagorize and tag links makes it easily searchable. If you rely on bookmarks you need Anybox.

Awesome app

Thid app is great for anyone but id like to recommend a few features if i may, id love to see a drag and add option, a live feed of news you can follow and maybe an AI assistant but not necessary at all, but thus is a very useful bookmark and site saving app easy to customize to your liking

Anybox is 👌

I use and test workflow software / tools for a living. this app is powerful but understated. Uses apples ecosystem very well including iCloud sync which is surprisingly hard to come by. Unlike most bookmark-ish-notetake-your-life tools, I feel as though my data is respected across browsers, desktop, mobile, and integrations. Much more to say about the tooling but if you’re reading this far just read the onboarding docs. Oh and the price is well below what competitors charge. A subscription I’m happy to pay (examples of others I feel happy to pay for are Raycast, Notion, ChatGPT, Superhuman etc)

Best Bookmark Manager at This Price Level

I’ve been using Anybox for over a month now and once you dig into all the features/ customization options and tune everything to your liking, Anybox really does shine. It has a lot of functionality.

What a great app 😮‍💨

this app is really easy to use and has a great interface. I was able to save many useful links and interesting images I found on the internet thanks to Anybox. I really recommend it!

This is such a great app!

Anybox has become indispensable to me. It's so versatile, so intuitive...and so integration-friendly. You can Share to it from anywhere, including via PopClip. It works with the fabulous Hookmark app. The Collections are so easy to work with. It just works, and it works exactly as you expect it to. I've tried a dozen different competitors...only this app gets it 100% right, IMO.
