Tecarta used to be my favorite, followed by Logos. Now by God’s grace this is LegacyStandardBible I tend to reach for. Logos sometimes takes multiple swipes to turn the page. Tecarta works great but displays a page turn animation whenever you swipe. LegacyStandardBible has elegant simplicity. Just a the text and tiny unobtrusive reference at the top that you don’t notice unless you look for it. Finally the LSB text is amazing. I would love it in a nice opaque-page large print Cambridge Cameo with wide margins rather than references.

I am a blind, therefore I am using screen off on my iPhone and always using voice over for everything I do with my iPhone.
I was not able to launch LegacyStandardBible even once with all the voiceover on reinstalled it about five times upgraded software on my iPhone and it still doesn't work.
I have called my son and I have turned off voiceover and ask him to lunch LegacyStandardBible and read it and navigate - he could do everything with a voiceover off. Please, fix this problem, if you can, so I could also check this new translation for myself.

I know that I am a bit biased, since I was one of the translators! But I think that there is far more to this work than just the use of “Yahweh” and “slave.” Consistent translation of each lexeme (if possible); a formal rather than functional approach to translation (if possible); and the clear noting of OT quotations and allusions (some surprising) are just a few of the policies we tried to follow. Check it out!

I highly recommend this translation. I am a pastor and typically use the NASB or the ESV. When ever I study I will compare those two translations. I am excited that now I have another translation to use. I know that a lot of hard work was put into the LSB and that it is an accurate translation of the original Scriptures. I highly recommend this translation.

LegacyStandardBible is good and easy to use. Recently received an email that it now has Old Testament as well. I’ve been trying different ways to get that on LegacyStandardBible but still haven’t been able to see all books of Old Testament on it. Just able to see the Psalms & Proverbs books that were on it from before.

The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because it could be a bit more user friendly. It’s fine for just reading, but I tried to use some of the other tools and it took me too long to figure out how to get back to just the scriptures.
However, I am incredibly grateful for this FREE app that contains the LSB! So I can live with the clunkiness of LegacyStandardBible because I am excited about this version!

I have been using the LSB for about a week now and love it. It is very similar to the NASB but includes some changes that I believe make it even better than the wonderful NASB. I am so thankful that there is now an app and am also thankful for the hardworking men who have done such an incredible job faithfully translating God’s sufficient, infallible, inerrant, and GLORIOUS Word!

There is no translation as precise at the Legacy Standard Bible. The ios app brings the most accurate and precise translation of the original text to us for free along with the ability to highlight, make notes, see the original greek and hebrew words used, and it contains a Greek Lexicon and Hebrew Dictionary.

Very thankful for the work done by the translators of the LSB.

The 95 NASB is not only my favorite English Bible, but it seems to be the most literal translation in English today. The updates from the Legacy Standard Bible will take the best and make it even better. I hope that this translation along with the 95 NASB become the two most sought after translations by English readers over the coming years.

The fact that they give you nearly full control over removing footnotes or showing them as well as references all together is huge for me. I love being able to instantly delve deeper into each word to better understand its meaning. I can’t wait until they finish translating the rest of God’s Word!

This is a solid Bible translation that is refreshing & its literal word for word translation of the original languages is great. The Scriptures warn of tampering with, adding to or subtracting from His Word. In the Gospel of John, (John 10:28) it says “never ever”~which the pastor at the church I attend said the original language intended to communicate to the readers.

Love the translation and I have been waiting for the LSB to come out for quite some time. I’m thankful for all the time that has gone into it. LegacyStandardBible though can really use some better design though, especially how to navigate through it and how it looks visually.

I would recommend taking a look at YouVision and the ESV Bible apps as far as those two things goes.

The work done by this team of scholars is outstanding. Each word, verse, chapter, book was looked at and the original languages studied in-depth to get a very accurate translation of God’s Word. The look ups for each word are easy to get on LegacyStandardBible

Phenomenal translation that puts the Word first and English semantics much lower. The Greek lexicon highlight feature is great. Also like the scrolling. Not a big fan of how hard it is to highlight a section. Would be better with on-screen tools.

My favorite translation yet!!! LegacyStandardBible is incredible and has a lot to offer for something that is free. Cannot wait for the rest of the Old Testament to be released. May God’s Word be a light to your feet and a light to your path!

I am hoping the developers see this and help me. My mom and I both downloaded and only get Ps Pr and NT. We try to create account so we can get the whole LSB but neither one of us can create account. It says to make password with 1 letter 1 number 6 characters. We try over and over and it won’t let us. Please help!! We want to have LegacyStandardBible on our phone. Thank you!!

The Bible apps I have used allows highlighting entire verses only. This one allows highlighting an individual word or phrase. Love it! I am wondering when/if the entire Bible will be available in LegacyStandardBible.

as vitya stated on January 29, LegacyStandardBible crashes with apple voiceover, accordance sadly does the same thing, so sadly I can not recommend LegacyStandardBible for blind users, however the translation itself I am sure is very faithful, I have interacted with one of the translaters for the new testament portion several times, he is always very true to the text.

I fiddled with trying to get my existing version to update to include the Old Testament for over an hour. I finally deleted my copy and installed this on my iPad Pro. I opened it up expecting a complete Bible an still only Psalm and Proverbs… no update.

I am to tired to try anything else. Just disappointed.

Received an email stating LegacyStandardBible now has both Old and New Testaments. Deleted the old app that had the New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs. Reloaded LegacyStandardBible and created an account for LegacyStandardBible , but there is no Old Testament.

There’s always a challenge between taking the time to develop a good app and in getting it out to late or to soon. In this case, I’m happy to have access to LegacyStandardBible but I think it was released to soon. LegacyStandardBible registration doesn’t work. The copy and paste copies the verse footnote letters but not the verse reference. It has crashed on me several times since I downloaded it. The setting don’t actually seem to change anything even after changing the views. I’m sure y’all will keep working hard to make LegacyStandardBible better. Thanks for your work thus far. As I see changes, of course I’ll change the star rating.

I’m already an Accordance user. They’re app is amazing and intuitive. Thank you for making the LSB app so I can also use it with my other recourse.

Excellent translation that captures the truth of scripture. Exceptional for its use in Biblical Theology studies.
