Epic Ocean Survival Reviews

After playing the game for a few weeks, I decided to invest some of my hard earned cash into the game. Unfortunately I am no longer able to access the game. I keep getting hung up on the loading screen. I have uninstalled the game, but do not want to wipe my data and lose out in the money I spent. I know i am losing out on the items in my vault as the time limit runs out daily. I have tried to contact the creators, but have not been successful as of yet. I was able to successfully install the game on a friend’s phone, but that does me no good. BUYER BEWARE!!! You risk losing any funds added to the game while they uncaringly spend your money with no recourse. Developers such as these just make it harder for legit companies that back their products. I for one will be far less apt to spend money on other games in the future. - TLDR: Only spend your money if you don’t mind losing it.

The latest update allows me to get into the game. I’m still wondering why the guy in the Shell Resort doesn’t give the Boss Key so I can get into the locked room. Also, I can’t make several items, despite having more than enough resources to do so. For example, the rubber boots don’t say I need to be at a certain level, but I can’t make them so I can’t get into the locked area of the Waste Island. I also can’t get into the locked building at the top because I don’t have the electric key. And the Lighthouse Island doesn’t refresh so that island is pointless. I keep getting notifications that new islands are available but it’s the same islands every time I log in. Also, perhaps allowing us to “sell” items that are pointless, like the butcher knives, dollars, fidget spinners, etc, would be nice.

After this last update two days ago, I can’t even open EpicOceanSurvival. The screen is black and then crashes. I emailed the developer and have received no response.

This game has so much potential, but it’s not quite there yet. There needs to be more resources besides mostly plastics in the ocean. You get stuck with no wood to craft anything sometimes so you sit on your raft watching everything other than wood go by. I got stuck on an island with no weapon and a shark swimming by the home spot so I died. I made a plastic bag to increase inv slots and I can’t even use it. I’m keeping the game downloaded for a while to see if fixes come out but man I really wanted to love it now

Edit: you’ve had a few people complain there’s not enough wood. You need an axe to get wood, and the axe REQUIRES wood, do you see the problem? If I can’t get wood from the ocean how am I gonna make an axe. Why not just cater to your audience and see there’s a problem with wood drops

Everything in this game will mess up at some point. The voodoo chief fell in the water when he was at 15 health (out of 100) and now I can’t get him and have to start all over. There’s never enough resources and if you want to actually succeed you’re going to need to pay money. All of the enemies are leveled way too high and even if you use a ranged weapon you’re going to get hit at least 2 times. My recommendation is find a better programmed game because this one is definitely not it. The adventure aspect and collecting is fun but you’re basically a wet pile of paper compared to everyone else that hits 20% damage on you but the best weapons I’ve made and used had hit for a max of 12. Unless you’re planning on paying to win, do not download this game ive been playing for 2 days and the amount of glitches is unbearable.

I went to rusty atoll and not when i load the game up theres movie cinematic bars on the top and bottom of the screen, but it wont let me move around at all, it wont let me navigate across the map or anything, and it wont let me tap any of the buttons like the setting, backpack or inventory. Ive been playing for about a week now and i don’t want to uninstall it and lose all my progress but I’ve restarted the game multiple times and i cant get it to let me move around or dock on the island or do anything its just stuck on the same screen, but its not frozen because the birds are flying around the island and the little tabs to the left are cycling. I had a lot of fun on the game butI don’t know what to do to fix it.

The game is entertaining, potential for a lot of hours of fun. A couple of problems I’ve noticed, one being an absolute deal breaker for me. Firstly I noticed the two times I died on islands where you supposedly get all of your items back I always lost a few items. First I lost all of my clothing items, then I lost my gold club and so on. I moved on though thinking, oh well. That big problem for me was my first visit to jelly fish island. I was unaware that death on this island meant losing all of my items because the game didn’t tell me about it until AFTER I died. “Oh by the way, you just lost everything”. I was very upset because I was well stocked at this point but was going to try and move on. However this game is a non continue for me because I realized that my “Smiley Backpack” that I paid you REAL MONEY for was considered a “losable item”. Heck no. I bought that and I should keep that. I will not continue to play because of that. Also, the inventory is a major issues in the first place. Even with the purchase of the backpack that was taken from me, I never had enough space to carry things I needed.

I was really enjoying this game until the update. After getting to another point in a game that says I need to wait for an update to continue, I was a little frustrated to begin with. Then the update changed everything. I was so confused. The motor disappeared, the way to the islands is different, and I have to do things over again that I’ve already done. It is now impossible to get past the mechanic. I’ve tried every weapon including the crossbow, and nothing works. You can’t get close because 3 hits from him kills you, and when you back up and he turns around, his energy goes back up. So you can’t stand close to him and you can’t back up…. And this is something I already passed before the update. I wasn’t expecting a whole new game. I just want to continue from where I was.

I would actually rate this 3.5 stars, I enjoy playing this game. It’s unique and quite fun. That being said it is very difficult to find required items to progress in this game. For example, the BOLT item says it can be found on three islands, but I’ve only ever gotten it from Shell Beach Hotel, and only sometimes. Not to mention there is a room in that island that requires a key to enter, but no one/no task to earn the key from. Additionally, on Waste Storage island, there is an entire section that requires a passcode to get into, which can’t be found, and it requires GUM BOOTS, which, again, has a missing recipe to craft them. Overall I will keep grinding away at this game, but I hope fixes are on the way to make this a much better experience and turn it into a game I play and not one I grind away on.

So this game is amazing in 2 days I managed to travel to the waste land and bone Island. however the professor in bone island gave me a secret mission and I haven’t been able to move on . All it says is to wait for news . I guess all i have left to do is fix the engine and the harpoon but it’s very difficult to obtain the pieces . And it takes 12 hours to reset the island and even then the prizes are super limited to the point where you might only find 1 at the hotel . It makes me wonder if this secret mission delay is just meant to force the player to buy various bundles of 10 dollars to fix the engine and harpoon which is something I’m not a big fan of . I mean if the game is progressing im more than happy to spend money but it it’s forceful I will not which is the vibe that I’m getting now from this game .

In the name. So far just started the game and having lots of fun. Sadly tho the more i play the worse the experience. Within 1 minute i have gotten forced ads 3 ads. Two that interrupted my building or scavenging for resources while on my raft. The first however was right after an ad i just watched after grabbing a crate in the water and watching the ad for the stuff inside. This isnt the first time either. There have been a few more times that it interrupted my activities and/or right before/after optional ads. What is happening with mobile games and all these developers adding forced ads that pop up every second? Are optional ads not good enough? Shouldnt we get less ads when wstching optional ads? Or at the very least comtinue with important activities without being interrupted as to not make the game highly focused on ads completely overshadowing the gameplay itself? I get that its free but id much rather a paid game with dlc than a free game with forced ads. Especially when they're as accessive and forced down our throats as modern day mobile games are.

So please game devs im having lots of fun with this game, i really like it. Im running out of things to play during my free time. Please fix your accessive amounts of ads. Or even just remove them all together if at all possible. I dont want to have to uninstall this game. So please dont make me. T-T Im just looking for a game to play not an ad to watch. Lol

I love this game for the time I’ve had but within a short period of time I’ve lost not only money but resources on the game due to it starting over while in game and cutting off to go back and be on level 1 from making it to level 50, or it freezing and starting over while in game and putting me at level 1 but letting me keep about 70% of my resources that I made or earned during the time playing. I’ve reached out to EpicOceanSurvival twice about this persistent problem and yet to get a response or refund. Not looking for money but at least an answer and fixing the problem would be good because this is a fun game that can occupy extra time and I LOVE IT. However, if the problem persist I will have to just deactivate game and find something new. PLEASE FIX THIS BUG, I DON’T WANNA GO!! 😂😂

I love this game overall, played it for hours but when I tried to get it on another device, there was some problems. I can’t move after the beginning where Iko (I think that was his name) calls me to his lighthouse after i find whatever is left of his raft. The shark freezes, the items stop drifting after the main character says “Hmm, what could be there. Let’s go see!”
I have tried to exit out, delete the game, update my device but none seem to work. I don’t mind deleting it and redownloading it since this is very early into the game but I’d like to actually be able to play since this game in general is really fun and entertaining.

Hi, Thanks for the update for the game. Have been playing since the new update released. Some issues I have encountered: When I try to drag stuff into storage, some cell in the storage does not work properly.. I try dragging it many times and it goes not going in.. I have to find a new storage and drag to the cell that works. It seems there are some issues with those cells, please fix that, it’s quite annoying because I want to be able to organize all my stuff with many storage box lying around. And second, I am unable to upgrade a workstation even though I have all the resource needed. ( I made sure I am able to upgrade this particular workstation at my current level, it says “ not enough resource, which is weird”) please fix this. Third, harpoon. I have already build my harpoon before the game updated. So this side mission says I need to build the harpoon, and this mission does not auto-complete… so I don’t what I am supposed to do here.. Those are some issues I have encountered since the update. Please fix these issues in the next update. Thank you!

I’ve been playing this game for almost a month now, and have put a lot of hours into it. It’s a fun addicting game but there are some small issues. A few bugs that need to get worked out. Certain items needed to build things are very scarce on certain islands and you have to wait 24 hours to go back and collect again. My main issue is after the newest update, some bugs and visuals were fixed, but some bugs remain and all the descriptions in the game are currently being displayed as game coding, very annoying. Otherwise, keep up the great work and I look forward to more updates and special additions!

I’ve had a very smooth time playing the game. It’s super addictive and fun. It can be repetitive but thats okay! I would highly recommend one or two side stories that would keep you playing while the developers figure where they want the main story to go. Maybe give us an island to build a home on. We can harvest and defend it…just a suggestion. I’ve stopped playing because I'm waiting on the remainder of the storyline but it’s not deleted so that’s good lol. It’s worth the wait especially there being no ads which would probably help you guys develop it faster.

Not saying gathering resources is impossible, it is just very very grindy. It feels less fun when having to kill the mechanic over and over and over again to get one part for the engine each play through. If I'm always doing the same thing, and not going to other islands because those islands don't have what I need, it gets very repetitive. I hope that in future updates, we'll either be able to find engine parts elsewhere or in larger amounts like 2-4 instead of one. Other than that, it's a great game with very fun graphics!

I’ve been playing this game for a couple days now and I’ve come to really enjoy it. I love the concept and the different survival elements. However I have noticed a couple things that may need to be fixed. First off, I was never able to find an electric lock pick and seeing as you can’t craft one I was wondering if this may be a bug? Same issue with fuel for the abandoned transport on some island. I wasn’t able to find any. Lastly the parts for the engine on the raft are extremely hard to come by. You can supposedly get them from only one of the islands you have access to without it and after 4 days I have yet to get even one of many of the parts. When searching drawers and toolboxes on the island you get more of the common parts that can be found anywhere else. I feel as though these place should produce more parts for the engine. I’ve killed the mechanic four times now and he’s the only thing that has given me parts for it. Lastly, I have been able to complete the task “kill 10 mutacrab” even though I’ve killed probably 30 since it started. It still says Ive completed 0/10 of the task. Besides these issues, this is a really great game and I can’t wait to see what it becomes!

This game was far off how I imagined. I expected a raft knock-off that is overflowing with ads and pay to win options. I got this game because it looked cartoony and that’s it. Then I found out IT’S SO MUCH MORE! I played for a bit and got a machete, not much, then I look into a locker and find A GUN!?!? The game immediately got me playing realizing it’s like another game I love, Survival Simulator, which has guns but is on an island. Sure, it has a couple of ads here and there and a bit of pay to get stuff but GUNS! It just makes me laugh just like Survival Simulator did. Although it’s more complex than survival simulator by a long shot, giving it more gameplay and in turn, more game to have fun with GUNS!

This game has been awesome so far. I love how much this game reminds me of Raft on the pc but way more compact and perfectly designed for mobile. The missions to earn more stuff makes you want to play for longer to (cause sometimes it takes a minute to complete the story quest which leaves you with nothing to do). The only down side to this game which I’ve already recommended to one of my friends is that I can’t play it with him. He likes the game too we’re just kinda bummed we can’t play it together😔 Here’s to hoping I can play with my friends one day!

This game is one of the only survival games on ios which are actually pretty in depth with some of the things you can do, on top of being a raft game. I don’t really have any complaints, besides one which is that searching corpses shouldn’t really take energy away if I’m being honest. Some ideas I thought about was it would be cool if there was multiplayer, or adding a trading system across players so we can create a community within the game, maybe make a bed like item where we can have a faster generation for energy when we go offline or are afk on our raft, creating bigger backpack spaces because there is a lot of loot on the islands and it’s very unenjoyable to have to go back and forth multiple to get all of it. Maybe a portable kind of boat where you can go around and collect things in the water (this would be able to be destroyed by shark to make it balanced) and in some type of way make a class selection kind of thing, for example ( medic/ receives more healing from medical items) (survivor/ bows-melee weapons do 10% more damage) (soldier/ guns have 5% further range) things like that could make the game feel more personal. And the final thing could be a more in depth character creation screen, maybe different skin colors, long hair/ short hair, eye color, etc. anyways, thank you for reading my rating and I hope to see this game improve much more in the future
