I must admit, SquirrelCalls will provoke some curiosity from just about any species of squirrel found in north America. However, it does not function as a hunting app. I am a retired veteran, that lives in a very remote location, I have two beautiful German Shepherd‘s that take good care of me. I’ve been hunting squirrels, in an effort to teach them what to hunt in the event something should ever happen to me out here. If you want a good hunting call for squirrels, wait for spring and listen for the challenge call that the males use. They also use the same call in the fall. Any squirrel of the same species will respond to the male challenge call no matter what time of year it is. If you can record this on a good amplified microphone off of Amazon, then play back via a Bluetooth speaker, and you will have a fine hunting app of your own making
