First the positive: easy to use and I would only use the single time play for the sound.
The negative: a video ad plays WITH SOUND after playing a few single sounds. There’s no way to stop it! Why would I use DeerCalls with the potential for blowing my whole stand. I’m uninstalling DeerCalls.

DeerCalls has random ads that popped up after about 4-6 sounds and again after 2-3 more. The worst part, it came on full speaker with no warning of a phone ringing. The second one was an ad for a game with music. I would have been even more ticked if I was on the stand and discovered this instead of in my living room. Yes you can “unlock” it, but nowhere did it give a warning.

The concept of DeerCalls is fine but there is a major problem ( in my opinion). If you set timers on your calls and switch to a different app the timers stop! Also if the phone goes to sleep the timers stop! finally, if your using a Bluetooth speaker that happens to go to sleep because it sees no audio; then the speaker disconnects (that could just be my speaker). So disappointed that I spent $5 for no reason. 😡

I downloaded DeerCalls while in the woods yesterday. Other than pop up ads it seemed to be working well. Suddenly a pop up ad came on with music blaring. Not good while deer hunting!
This morning I was playing around with the ap. Almost every time I hit play on some of the calls, a pop up ad starts playing music. This renders the free app almost useless. I’m not going to risk using it if I’m going to get blindsided by music playing.
Also, due to the pop up ads you pretty much need two hands to use DeerCalls . It’s hard to hold your rifle and operate the ap.
I’m still experimenting with it. I only had the one music incident while hunting yesterday. This morning it’s happening more than 50% of the time.

I’m sitting in my deer blind still and silent. I have my phone on silent so there’s no possibility of any foreign to the woods sounds running off any potential deer. I open up DeerCalls and touch the “contact” sound; 1, 2, and all of a sudden an app game pops in blaring out through the woods! This is no place or time to be promoting game apps to buy or download!!! The creators of game call apps should set them up with the hunter in mind and no allow other app designers or promoters to be able to utilize their apps for those purposes!!!

If there must be ads, can we make them silent? I mean we are out trying to call in deer when some ads pop up very loudly. The whole reason for DeerCalls is to lure deer in not scare them away with an ad

The only problem is the buck spar two. There is not enough rattling and there are to many adds but other than that amazing

Been using the free version a couple years so bought it yesterday. Loop timers seem to stop when Uber 2 minutes if screen timeout occurs so need to keep app running and on. Kills battery life
iPhone XR. Love it other than that issue

It work fr fr I kill a 10 pt buck he was walking away I use my caller it didn’t work then I use a buck grunt on DeerCalls it work an than he had a doe with him she came bck 1 min later shot her contact

Music and deer calls don’t go together. Otherwise may have been a good training tool.

Use it on 2 young bucks just see if they would respond. They responded and came closer to the doe calls and got alarmed walked away from the buck grunt call. Per rut near Montgomery AL January 1, 2021

This is a Excellent app I used the calls and within 10mins I called out 3 deer. I would recommend DeerCalls to any hunter. It’s easy to use and affective.

From a bowhunter who only shoots 130 plus inch deer. It’s incredibly accurate and about the same volume as actual deer (believe or not) just remember when you use an aggressive call a mature deer is going to get downwind of ya no matter how big or bad he is! It’s nature….sizing our opponent. I actually JUST used and had a decent deer come check my mock scrape!
