StationRotation is just a front for Spotify.
Spotify has the worst artist payment rates in the industry (which is saying something!) and prevents you from using apps and websites to export your own playlists.
Don’t send your music subscription money to some techbro who will use it to buy another Lamborghini.

It doesn’t let you do anything unless you sign in to Spotify. Doesn’t say anything about that in the description or I wouldn’t have bothered. I don’t have or want Spotify but wanted this. Oh well. I’d give zero stars or negative if I could just for not putting that in the description.
by Dralite
Nice try, support tidal and you got me, or at least AM, but no to Spotify, kindly, thank you
by NotBillClinton
I’m not signing up for Spotify to use it. That part was a bad idea.
by Gnolidog
Really, how hard would it have been to state in the description that a Spotify premium subscription is required? Please don’t waste my time.
A shame, because it sounds like a cool idea

Can’t get past the agree to terms page no matter how many times I press agree

Support other music services, guys.

Would love to use this but no Apple Music support is a bummer.

As many reviewers have said, it’s just a weird extension of Spotify, and an overly simplistic one. There’s just an alphabetical list of radio stations (some named after the curator some randomly titled) and the current artist playing on that station in teeny tiny print underneath. Once you listen to a few to see if you like the genre you can “favorite” them... And that’s it.
I checked out StationRotation because a specific artists was promoting their station but I can’t see myself using this frequently. Why is it connected to Spotify if there aren’t even links from the currently playing song to that artist’s Spotify page?
I think there’s supposed to be a social element to it, since there’re no playback controls or track lists (“we’re all listening to the same thing at the same time”) and you can swipe up to see a list of other people who are listening. But honestly it’s kinda just depressing and makes me feel more disconnected from the people I know in real life and real human contact.

their station since this started.
Good idea though.

As an Apple Music prescriber, I‘m extremely reluctant to download Spotify to access this. Maybe in the future, but not now. So sorry! Was looking forward to this. Cheers.

App is a great idea and I’m excited for the future. Hoping that curators will continue to add new music as it seems more like you’re just listening to an hour long playlist they made that continues to loop it over and over.

StationRotation is already at an amazing start, with music curated and shared by growing roster of artists like Edgar Wright, Nigel Godrich, David Lynch, Jonny Greenwood, Dee Rees, Patrick Carney, the list goes on! I can’t wait to see more artists contribute and, possibly, allow us users to create our own profiles and share our own ‘radio’ with friends. Very much loving StationRotation so far!

Amazing app with amazing music chosen by amazing artists. What’s not to love?
by Rlopez465
StationRotation is amazing! I love hearing what inspires the people that inspire me. Works great, hopefully they can get more people onboard soon

Lovely hand-picked tunes, feels like driving around in my car, flipping the radio station. Any chance Sonos integration is in the cards?

Great idea to supplement those somewhat soulless algorithmic playlists that, while often good, don’t quite feel right!

As a music lover I am enjoying listening to the variety of radio stations. Awesome music shared by artists i like, it’s really cool. So stoked to see who else joins and how StationRotation will evolve. Thumbs up from me.

Love these curated playlists. My only feedback is I wish StationRotation would connect to other music services so you can more easily save tracks you discover.

I mean, what am I going to do?
Say no to David Lynch?

When did they start requiring Spotify Premium?
by Datatransfer
StationRotation requires a Spotify Premium account. That’s ok, but my complaints are:
1. It doesn’t say anything about this in StationRotation Store listing.
2. It doesn’t say it requires Premium until after granting StationRotation access to my Spotify data.
by Modern_goat
Yeah, I deleted Spotify years ago when they would t let you opt out of them selling your data.
Would like to support folks that David Lynch is promoting but not if it involves Spotify.
Why don’t you mention this in StationRotation description? Give me an alternative like Apple Music and I’m 100% down to use and help promote StationRotation .

Can’t get past the setup. After I connect SR to my Spotify account, it asks me to accept the connection. Pushing “Accept” does not move the process forward. It’s stuck there. Went to App Support and the webpage continuously and rapidly refreshed itself.
by Stibnide
It wasn’t stated in the description that this requires a premium Spotify account. I’m sure StationRotation is great, but I wasted my time trying to get it to work.

I have tried several times to set up an account with my Spotify but when I click agree nothing happens. What’s up?!!
by Reviewerpersonpenguin
I am enjoying a few of the premade stations here (based on my Spotify listens I’m guessing?) but There’s only about a dozen stations I can choose from. And there’s no option to discover more.

Been loving StationRotation although it’s clearly it’s in early stages. You will become exposed to a lot amazing artists. With that said the people behind the “radio stations” have very similar taste in music which makes one less likely to come back if I’m hearing the same music across the stations. A little editing would go a long way ......

I really enjoy StationRotation! The one feature I wish it had was letting me save a song that’s playing to a Spotify playlist. If I find something I love, id like to hit a button, and then go back to enjoying it rather than frantically typing the name into Spotify before the song is over. Cheers!

Really great stations. Let them take you on a journey. Listened to a bunch of Stella Mozgawa’s for starters. Danced, chilled, zoned out.
Onto Nigel’s station now. Oh, it’s Mark Pritchard’s Beautiful People!
Heads up: As of writing this it’s only fueled by Spotify. Personally would prefer Apple Music. Choose your behemoth, right?

Station Rotation! Radio stations made and updated by a musical community who want to share music - an alternative to music chosen by an algorithm - Everyone hears the same songs at the same time - it’s not a playlist…but a collective experience like radio.
