I see potential

I'm rating it one stars at the moment because it is buggy on the mac and iphone.

everytime I try to add a task to a day that is not the current day, it adds it then instantly puts me back on the current day.
(to make it clear) It put's the task on the day you want it but then it moves your UI back to the current day.
I find that annoying because I want to add a subtask to the that task, so I have to go back to the day I added the task click add subtask.

Then when I add the subtask to the task it does the same thing if it is not on the current day. You can't name the subtask if its is not on the current day, it will leave the name blank. Can't even edit the blank name.

The only time you can add the name to the subtask is if you add a subtask to a task that is in the current day.

To Sum it up: Things that need to be fix: dont automatically go back to current day after I add a task or a sub task. When it needs to add the name of the subtask to the name I put it on

I also tried it on the iphone I got similar results too,

Also please add edit feature on the subtask, I could have sworn I edit a subtask once already but I had no success on doing it again (unless this was a bug)

I hope these things get address soon, because PlannyDailyPlanner looks like it would be a nice app.

I'm normally not a person who writes reviews but I will be more then happy to change my review once these problems get fix.

Great App but Some Features Are Missing

I believe this to be a great organization app with its simple design and seamless flows between screens. But I believe there are a few things that are missing.

1. I think PlannyDailyPlanner should have natural language to be able to just type and the task can then add the date and time. This could also auto add the task to the calendar for view.

2. I think that in the list section. For example when making a list like groceries. You should be able add different things without having to add a fruit then hit return on the keypad to have to hit the add button again to add another item to the list. I believe when hitting return it should add the item that has already been typed into that field to add to the list and instantly you can add the next item to that list. This would make the process a lot more seamless as well as add more utility to the list section when adding items.

Outside of that PlannyDailyPlanner is very light and operates smoothly. Can’t wait to see what feature the dev have planned for this yr. I’m looking forward to signing up for the lifetime family plan to have my family work with a simple and effect app that just works.

All I’ve Wanted

I am huge on productivity apps and am constantly scouring the store for one that suits my needs, isn’t too complicated, and makes my life easier.

This is it. It’s clean, allows me to add all the tags I need, and covers all the bases I need in a planner (MacBook compatible too.)

Will be purchasing this entirely after my 3-month subscription if all goes well. I’d go in-depth but if you download PlannyDailyPlanner, you’ll see for yourself how great it is!

Needs a few tweaks but great!

I've been looking for an app that will allow me to switch over from Todoist. This almost hits the marks. The one thing that really keeps me from making the big switch is being able to type in the day and time and hitting enter and it automatically add it to the specific day and time stamped as well as type out the list or tag and it automatically tag that task. But its a great looking app!

I would like to be able to choose my calendar view sorted by 1 or 2 month view / week view / day view.

On the Mac, PlannyDailyPlanner seems a little sluggish. It hasnt crashed but it takes some time to switch between sections. Also, the attachment section of your task, i'm unable to type out my notes as i am with the ios app. Also, when you click your photo attachments, you can't enlarge them when you're looking at them.

You've got a good app here in production but I would really love to see all these changes because im itching to switch over completely from Todoist! Keep up the good work.

It’s ok on sale

I bit the bullet when the subscription (enough with the subs) finally went on sale (and it even went further on sale which is a bit annoying. Too many prices)

It’s cute. It’s nice to have access to PlannyDailyPlanner on all platform but I think it’s more focused on the aesthetic than it is on functionality. I feel like I lose and/miss things that I need to get done. It just really doesn’t jive with my needs. I also don’t even understand the waste in developing an achievement system.

I have this for about a year so I’ll redownload it later on to see if it’s improved but for now I’m going back to 2Do.

Recovering procrastinator

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I haven't come across anything that gives feedback quite this way and I've tried an embarassingly-many different productivity applications. Coming out of the gate, PlannyDailyPlanner 's UI has been easy, and the design balances Mac design conventions with their own twist. The free version does not allow users to use two of their power moves of tagging - which I'm a little shocked, and pinning. I would probably pay their fee 1x but probably not annually for what they are asking considering good-enough productivity apps are a dime a dozen.

Love the idea

The layout is great its exactly what ive been wanting as a calender app. the one area where i would try to impove is PlannyDailyPlanner responsiveness on (intel) mac. sometimes when you mark off things from the to-do or switch betweeen the diffrent section on the left, PlannyDailyPlanner seems to have a hitch but aside from that its a dope concept

Does not sync reminders

Great independent reminders app. However I was slightly mislead by the iCloud sync. This will just keep all devices synced that run PlannyDailyPlanner . I use Microsoft at work and need a reminders app that will sync to iOS reminders so that I can also see those reminders. $35 donation. Maybe this will be added in the future or if we could set as default reminders app perhaps that would work.

Was good until the most recent update

Agree with another recent review. The newest update eliminates the old recurring tasks and requires you to manually re-enter into the a broken new system (done button doesn’t always work, can only recur for 3 months even though it says 6). I paid for a year of this a while back and was coming up for renewal. If I could roll back the auto update I would. But since I can’t, I went and found a new app (Todoist) and will be moving on.

great ui design and workflow

I am pleased with everything I see so far. I love th stats that help me stay accountable to myself. Can you please add a menu bar option (no dock) only please in the next update? If you do add it, it would be great to have a quick task add option in the menu. Cheers

Great app! One suggestion?

Great app! I appreciate the effort that went into making PlannyDailyPlanner! It has truly helped me. That being said, I would like to see less delay between PlannyDailyPlanner and the widget. I would love a widget with the daily calendar that updates as you complete tasks/go through your day. I’m not sure if that’s possible but would love to see it!

Almost perfect for me

Hey Kevin, I think you've done a lovely job with Planny and i've been watching the progress of PlannyDailyPlanner move forward at a lightning pace from day 1. It's affordable, has a thoughtful UI, univeral app, etc.

I really loved where you were going with trying to integrate all of these features together in the cleanest way possible.

With that being said, I paid for the Pro because I thought I might be able to replace Things or Ticktick. Unfortunately ran into some strange issues (Icloud sync was not working for me - yes i restarted PlannyDailyPlanner several times).

I have some suggestions i'm going to email you, maybe if you implement them i'll come back in the future. Thanks and keep up the good work :)

You can type tasks and... nothing else.

The description lists many interesting features, but once you download PlannyDailyPlanner all you can do is to add tasks —something that any tasks management app will let you do, and for free (including Apple Reminders).
I'd be happy to pay for a premium version of PlannyDailyPlanner if the functions listed in the description worked well. However, I need to be able to test them—at least for one day!

update is a thumbs down

I like the visual interface of the update however the functionality is terrible. I prefer my current day to be the first thing I see (like before the update). if i’m on a future date and add a task, it should populate to the date i’m on, not add to my current day. and every time I edit, move, or delete any task from a future date, i’m then kicked back to the current day. this is frustrating if i’m trying to plan the sequence of my day

Great app for getting life organized.

Planny 4 has become my go-to app for getting things done. Being able to create lists for shopping, meal planning, to-do lists for home and work, email lists, etc.; and then being able to take those lists and organize them using the calendar is awesome.

It can also be used along with my laptop for even easier entry and organization.

I was also impressed by the quick response from the developer when I had a question as well.

5 stars for sure!

Premium crashes

Purchased the premium version and it crashes on me at least 2-3 every day! If it were not for this, I think it is a great app.

Reponse to developer: almost every time I open it on desktop gets stuck on the spinning wheel wait cursor. Force Quit says PlannyDailyPlanner is not responding. After I quit, it opens a problem report.

Planny giveth and Planny taketh away

I was excited about the updates to Routines, until I tried to migrate my Routines to the new system and found out that you’ve BROKEN Routines. Thanks. All my careful planning vanished. Update: the problems with the new Routines functionality have resolved. Thanks, Kevin!

Logo Change

The logo change was a bad idea. I want a planner that takes my tasks seriously. The wolf logo was professional and it communicated to me the efectiveness of PlannyDailyPlanner . This new logo looks like its a game app for little japanese girls. One cannot take the logo seriously. I feel like I'm wasting my time on PlannyDailyPlanner with such a ridiculous logo.

Amazing

Man you did so good on PlannyDailyPlanner. I have been using it for a day and already loving it. I have finally stopped my search of finding a good to-do list app.

Are you a single working mom? Get this app!

Before using Planny 5, I was the Henry VIII of planning apps...they never met all my needs as a busy single mom to two girls and three pets who works remotely as a consultant for an international company in six time zones while trying to fix-up a house. PlannyDailyPlanner does it all - family, work, home and personal calendars, with task lists integrated so they actually happen and support for those aspirational routines (drinking water as I type this). PLUS analytics so you can acutally see the impact of binge watching Brigerton on your productivity (and decide if it is or is not worth it...discuss...). This is analytics done right. THANK YOU Planny developers!

Attachments on MacOS

I'm enjoying PlannyDailyPlanner so far, but for some reason note attachments can only be added on iOS. This means I have to jump back and forth between my phone an mac, which is not a time saver.
