For the past month it won’t record my plays :( normally i love PlayTally and use it a lot. sometimes it doesn’t register the plays if you have a song on repeat but still works better than many other apps. but now it doesn’t work at all, please fix it soon because i enjoy PlayTally. i will update my review once fixed!

I just recently downloaded PlayTally and it was extremely inaccurate to what songs I listen to the most I’m very disappointed as the main reason I got this was too see how much I played a certain song. If they fixed this issue I would very much recommend it but for now I don’t recommend you get PlayTally.

Not really worth it when you pay for PlayTally and it always says that a bunch of plays have not been recorded for whatever reason. The whole reason I got it was so it could count all my plays. It says keep all or keep most recent but doesn’t say what that even means

I’ve been using PlayTally for about a year now, and I’m sad to say it doesn’t work very well. It only makes note of maybe half to two thirds of the songs I listen to, especially if they’re songs on repeat. It also continues to ask me pretty regularly about a song that it detected an “unusually high” number of playbacks for—an occurrence from one day last summer. Overall it just isn’t a very reliable way to keep track, sadly.

I really love PlayTally. I use it daily to see what I’m listening to and how much I’ve listened to certain songs. But the new update causes PlayTally to crash when I look at the trending tab and search tab. Without those options PlayTally doesn’t do what I enjoyed looking at. I hope this can be fixed. Also, there is no way to contact the developer directly. No working website.

Music is a big important part of my life, and before the update PlayTally was PlayTally to view nice statistics and ranking for songs, albums, and artists. Then out of nowhere the dev decided to change all time formats to minutes only, no seconds or hours, which is a lot less useful and meaningful especially when you listen to a lot of music like me. PLEASE HAVE THE OPTION TO CHANGE TIME FORMATS BACK TO HOW THEY WERE BEFORE THE UPDATE. This minutes only thing is terrible and imprecise and PlayTally was a lot better before this latest update.

Great app but the data is inaccurate most of the time. The first time an album is played, the songs aren’t counted. When a song is on repeat, sometimes PlayTally doesn’t count all of the plays. I’ve also run into PlayTally not counting songs in my playlist. I’m not quite sure how to get around these bugs and/or inaccuracies.

PlayTally has a mind of its own and selectively updates. Sometimes it correctly gets my music plays from other devices (yes all have sync library on) other times collects no data besides music plays on the install device… worked for about 2 weeks and stopped all together.

I got this because I didn’t trust Apple’s Replay site to track my plays. This is better than Replay but it’s still flawed and doesn’t record all my plays; especially if you listen to the same songs several times over a short period of time. There will be songs I listen to 15-20 times and it will only show 4 listens or something like that. Occasionally I’ll get a pop up that says there’s a large number of plays that could be an accident and do I want to count them all or the most recent. I always select to count them all and the numbers are still not even close.

Makes it so easy to track listening history, over any time period which is nice. Great insights into how you listen. But sometimes it glitches and says you listened to a random song 200 times. Which can mess things up.

this app has been a great app to view my music stats and I’ve loved it every since I got it. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes it will count a song twice (says that it’s been played in the same minute) and it will do this for every stream that happened in a day. Sometimes it doesn’t happen but most of the time it does and I have to manually remove streams to make it more accurate. Would be great if you made it so it would auto-remove a double stream for a song that says it been played two times in the same minute. Besides that, I’ve have had an amazing experience and will continue to use it. Hope this gets fixed

So, let me just say, I LOVE PlayTally. It has so many neat features that show you data based on your music library. It shows you how many hours you have been listening to certain genres, albums, artists and much more, all in a very easy to understand out. There is one really small issue I have with PlayTally though. It puts in very accurate play times for all of my songs, except it overplays the song ‘Amoeba’ by Clairo. It puts in
fake plays, saying I have listened to it MUCH more than I really did, but it isn’t that big of an issue for me.

Still a must have app with very interesting stats.

Nice app, albeit minimal and limited in what it gives you. Is it possible to tally the number of songs played by release year so to see which music years I play the most?

I like PlayTally so far but can you make it so I can download my Apple Music data then upload to play tally, so I have my all time and not just from the day I downloaded PlayTally .

I really like having the data for my library but there is a little bug. I have noticed that if you pause your library that song has plays with an asterisk next to it and adds to your totals and can skew the data. It also happens with a random song while I was playing other music

Great app, wish it tracked album plays in the trending section though. That way you could view your most played albums for the week or month.

Great app but the one thing I cannot seem to figure out. I wish it would tally everything from all devices using my Apple Music account. It says it can but it doesn’t. It only takes stats from local device.

Is PlayTally still getting updates? Syncing has been slow, and album covers for a large portion of my library no longer have artwork. A couple year back when I first started using PlayTally is was the best option in PlayTally Store. I wish the developer would charge a fee to use it so there was more incentive to keep it running bug free and more frequent updates to address issues. With that said, it’s still a top notch app which is why I gave it 4 stars.

Love the clean UI. Everything works as expected except for the donate option in the settings which don’t seem to work for me on either of the three options.

I love how it's so accurate and also easy to delete all your plays if you want ( I fell asleep with my phone on with no sleep timer and it got too innacurate). Imo preferrable to the other popular website for listen tracking. The challenges are a cute touch too.

I love PlayTally! It works so nice yet whenever I use my Apple Music account with my new home pod it won’t track anything :( and I’m bummed cus I don’t want my stats to be off. So if you could fix that then it would be a 5/5!!!

What’s better than statistics about how you listen to music? Shiny award badges for playing your favorite tunes, that’s what.

A great app by a thoughtful developer. That’s a win-win in my book.

I am continuously being asked (every 3 seconds or so) to provide access to my music library. I can’t use PlayTally at all

Edit: had to grant access through the settings app, never had that issue before. App works great now

I was originally complaining about inaccurate counts, but the developer responded and told me what to do to fix it! I have zero complaints now and I love PlayTally. 😛😛

I’ve been beta testing PlayTally for a while now and I’m very impressed. It is very well made and is great for learning more about my music library with stats about play count, time listened, skip count, etc. The interactive charts are awesome too.

edit: do you remember on the trending tab there was a button on the right below the calendar that said ‘rank’? it was to the right of the artist, albums, or genres button. and there was an option to make the songs trend by like a mix of play count, time listened, skip count, etc. i just thought it was really cool and unique to rank the songs more diversely but i think it went away in a recent update. i don’t know if you could bring this back or not but it would be really cool if you could i really enjoyed that feature 😭 sorry. other than that PlayTally is amazing i love it!! if you do get around to doing this, thank you so much !!!

I’ve been wanting an app that tracks your Apple Music plays for a long time. There are a couple apps out there but none are better designed or put together than this one. I beta tested PlayTally and the developer really listened to all the feedback I gave them. Must have for all Apple Music users

I just want to first start off by thanking you for such an amazing app! I have had this app downloaded since the first of the year and have thoroughly enjoyed checking my music stats daily and have experienced very little to no problems since purchase. However, over the past 72 hours most every time I open PlayTally and refresh to do a playback I’m prompted with a message that says it has detected multiple playbacks of the same song and then asks to keep all or the most recent. Whenever given the choice I click to keep the most recent, but several of the times I’m not given the choice and my song history is then spammed with 20+ “plays” of the same song each with asterisks next to it. It’s very frustrating and has only just started doing this now so I’m very confused. Such a great app but it’s getting frustrating having to go through and delete all the incorrect playbacks

Can I suggest implementing a stat the tells the average number of plays a song per artist?

For example, I have 26 Eminem songs for a total of 1546 plays. This stat would give an average of about 59.5 plays.

This could be said for whatever album you look at.

It’s a great app for tracking plays and hours listened to something. However, recently it has been giving me troubles, it’ll give a warning if I had listened to a song a lot of times(a song that i haven’t played) and give it a lot of plays, but it does this repeatedly and does not let me use PlayTally and also skews the data

Just downloaded PlayTally and it looks really great and the other reviews praise PlayTally, but i’m just confused with it. For every time peroid you can select it always says “There is no recorded playback activity for this data range” even though I am listening to music. How do I fix this? Thank you!
