Not worth it anymore

When I first played this game around 3 years ago, I absolutely fell in love with it. The fact that you could do so much with and most of it was entirely free, I really enjoyed it as an F2P player. However, these recent additions and changes are all cash grab events, including the stories, which was what caused me to fall in love with it in the first place! The game went from impeccably crafted 3-4 chapter stories with 3d companions, multiple beautiful outfit sets, and great rewards for completing them. Now as we finally got Alice in Wonderland after YEARS of us wanting it, it's only a half-baked 2 chapter story that has AI-generated 2d art and writing, only 2 2d companions, and most of this is hidden behind a paywall!! You will have to end up paying $22 to complete this story when in the past it used to cost NOTHING. The fact that the stories we've been getting recently are worse than even Helen of Sparta in quality yet aren't even FREE shows how much this company values profits and cutting costs (by not hiring human creators) over crafting beautiful stories and worlds like they used to. It's just so heartbreaking seeing what this game has become and I recommend that everyone shouldn't spend their hard earned money in this game that has completely tanked in quality.

Enough is enough

Jumping on the bandwagon here and leaving a one star review because of the way all of the players are completely ignored now. The first handful of stories made in this game are fantastic, in depth, and beautifully well thought out. Now the stories coming out are only a chapter or two and the characters are very two dimensional and, paired with a bland story line, extremely difficult to get into. When I first started playing I downloaded every story I could get my hands on, ready to devour the next stage and spend real money to craft outfits needed to progress. But now I’ve hit the wall I’ve seen a lot of my fellow players hit. The expansive stories are finished, the ones with potential are left abandoned by the creators with cliffhangers that would make anyone rip their hair out to discover what’s next. And in turn, new stories with subpar plots and tasteless dialogue are crammed next in line, leaving stories like Helen of Sparta and Shadows of London neglected and abandoned, and with every notification coming in bringing a tiny spark of hope that finally *finally* it will be announced that they’re going to give the stories and their players what they deserve. Making new stories every other week is an incredible feat, but not when it’s at the cost of the players satisfaction and desires.

Jerry and Lovecraft are HORRIBLE

I really like this game. I do. I like the story and the idea behind it. The 2 things that bother me and make me want to stop playing are Jerry the balloon and lovecraft. They are both extremely frustrating! Jerry NEVER gives anything good. I spend 800 diamonds and a ton of coins and get repeats of clothes that are 4 stars or less! I’ve gotten maybe two 6 star things and four or five 5 star and the rest have been repeats of what I’ve already gotten! They need to fix this so it gives you some kind of hope that you’ll get something good and actually want to keep playing. Lovecraft is the WORST! You can craft a bunch of four star plus things but the NEVER are available to craft!! And if by some miracle, you get a four star item and craft it (yay) that’s the only thing that pops up to craft for weeks!! It’s so annoying and frustrating and really makes me want to stop playing. Give us a semblance of hope or a chance to actually get good clothing items! Once we get something from Jerry, make it so we can’t get a repeat and actually get something good! You can be more liberal with giving up good things with both of these. The game is good enough that people will continue to play even if they have every single clothing item as long as the stories keep coming out. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THESE FEATURES!

Just Download Love Nikki

I would have at one point given this game 5 stars. I enjoyed the stories, and the game play. Then suddenly material costs went up astronomically. To the point where being free to play means spending actual months to finish one story (mind you they come out with a new story every month now *despite* complaints). Suddenly we were getting back to back to back paid events where they expected us to pay a large amount of money for a monthly spread only to get blueprints, not actual outfits, but *blueprints* (without providing enough materials to craft it once this wasting more materials). And suddenly, despite blocking the company name in chat (but not blocking the whole n word), they began putting it on nearly every new outfit. Love Nikki is not only cheaper, more player friends, and actually cares about giving you your money’s worth, but it’s just a better game. And while they give fewer codes, they’re time limited not use limited. This means those who come late don’t get squat. Do not, and I repeat, do not waste your time on this game. Not until the developers start finishing stories, listening to players, and stop SELLING US BLUEPRINTS THAT WE BUY WITH REAL MONEY! This game is a garbage fire and will just disappoint you. And before the devs say to contact us, we have, all of us have, and you don’t care beyond making yourself look good in reply to reviews like mine. Fix yourself and don’t pretend to care on my review.

An AMAZING game, but not what it once was...

it would be nice to have some sort of fix to jerry, love craft, gifts from companions, phantom mirror rewards, etc. honestly, i would even like to see them returned to what they used to be. when i started out, i used to get SO many rewards from phantom mirror, and while jerry pulls didn’t always give me what i wanted, i received way more items and far less relic upgrade materials and dupes (which is about what i receive 90% of the time now).

i am afraid they the game devs have been more focused on making money than they have been about making a fair game. the devs should cater to their audience, the majority of whom are young and do not even spend their own money to play the game but are still playing and grinding it. im an adult and spending my own money, but at this point it feels like i’m sort of throwing it away. im really sad about it because I LOVE THIS GAME, and i love supporting game developers and content creators on games because i know a lot goes into it. however, if you’ve been around the game long enough, you’ve seen the changes that have been made and that have made the game more unfair and upsetting than it previously was. so, until and unless these things are fixed, i’ll no longer be spending money on this game and will switch to being a more casual free-to-play player.

Money, money, money, oh wait more money.

Like the game don’t like the GREED, that’s the name of this game. Unless you want to wait days and days to move forward in any story. I have gone into 3 different stories all you need to purchase certain items and you have to craft a lot of those items. It takes days if you don’t spend money. Crafting is the worst money grab I have ever come across and I have played games for years. My suggestion look for a game you can pay for or find a game that that isn’t such a GREEDY GAME, oh and never expect to get a top rating until you pay gobs of money to compete with the other players. Said it’s a great idea and from what I’ve played enjoyable but I also pay for my games so I expect to pay 10 to 15 dollars on a game which is a fair price for a pocket game. Unless you want to pay hundreds of dollars this game isn’t for you or anyone on a budget and I only hope that the players mother and fathers see how much their children are paying for cause I got to say it’s going to be a shocker when they do. Games are not a prestige thing at least not to my knowledge. And spending hundreds of dollars for a pocket game that s unbelievable. That is this game in a nutshell. Save your money buy a console which you can get some value from and can resell vs this. I have never in my life seen so much GREED for a game in my life! It gets a 2 cause the concept and graphics are great.

Nice but...

I like the game but as you progress, the crafting items required for outfits gets ridiculous. Events offer great new outfits, but it’s a disappointment because you have to craft them and they require an impossible amount of crafting supplies, so they are useless. Sometimes you have craft something in order to make something else, which depletes your resources and you have to start over again with collecting materials. They allow you to barrow stuff, but there are required items you can’t barrow. If you get everything for a level, you still may find yourself without a perfect score because your relic or “education” is not high enough. If you don’t have a cat in the category your playing, your score can suffer too, which prevents getting the blueprint you need for a future level. The stories are good and I enjoy them, but I’m starting to feel like the game is a job due to the heavy crafting/collecting resources which defeats the purpose of an app for entertainment. I don’t mind a challenge, but seriously, 200 of a material when you can only buy five every 3-4 hours is a bit much. Even when using cat exploration, encounters, and diamonds it’s a daunting task. If the developers correct these issues, the game would be worthy of a 5 star rating. And yes, I have made a few minor purchases to support the game.

Um...

I think it’s great except the dress materials are too much. I couldn’t complete a level with all three stars because I didn’t have a certain cloth and no matter what I did it never worked and the material I needed I couldn’t get it. I spent like a week trying to get this material and I only got like 2 or 3 of them when I need like 58. I was stuck on that level for so long and then when I tried to just move on there was another clothes that I needed that needed the same material like 62 of them that I still didn’t have. So the inconsistency of the materials I get is the problem and seeing as I spent months trying to get this material and only ended up with 22 at the very end I had to stop playing and stop wasting my time because I couldn’t move on from my level with perfect stars or even two stars. And seeing how it takes a lot of storage I wanted to be able to play a story every day but I couldn’t even play any stories cause I was too busy trying to get one material. That’s the biggest flaw of this game and something I couldn’t get over since I’m don’t have any money as I am young can’t work and don’t get any allowance and I know my parents aren’t gonna spend money on a mobile game. Which apparently is the only way to succeed in the game. By spending money.

Great Concept, Mostly Great Execution

This is a beautiful game with a fun storyline. The outfits and graphics look fantastic in game, and it’s obvious that a lot of dedication and care has been put into the project. However, the game crafting section can become extremely tedious - especially when you want to progress but run out of stamina and/or resources. There are options for in-game currency that help mitigate this, but oftentimes, you’re required to pay real money to progress or wait several days. It’s not a fun feature to wait 3 days to get enough cotton to make a dress needed to progress the storyline. I feel that those resource requirements could be reduced.

Additionally, I don’t find the “Lucky Jerry” to be a good feature at all. It’s a gambling mechanic, and for the number of outfit items that are exclusive to the feature, and the amount of resources you need to enter, you’d think the results would be better. Often, you waste your hard-earned gold and diamonds to get something menial. Either change the item probability or reduce the amount of resources needed to pop a balloon. Otherwise, this feature is a complete pass for me.

It’s a fun game, but these improvements would make the experience a lot more enjoyable.

Fun Game, Very Frustrating

The story part of the game is very fun, and I enjoy getting to dress up my character without having to be in the story at all times. It’s very reminiscent of Love Nikki, if you’ve ever heard of that game. However, what I don’t like about this game is the wait for materials. Either you watch the store like a hawk, waiting for the refreshed stock that has no guarantee of being what you need for the next stage, or you endlessly try to do side quests to get materials you also don’t need. Days turn to weeks, and still, I have no luck finding cotton or leather. I have plenty of silk, though. Always with the silk... In Love Nikki, you need only collect outfits to create new clothes, which makes the process faster, albeit droning. In this game, you need materials and outfits for new pieces. It would be a refreshing gimmick if it didn’t waste so much of my time, sending me on an endless goose chase. I don’t mind creating gifts and getting close to companions to advance the story, but when you’re 43 leather away from the dress you need, and you haven’t been able to get any of it in days, you can see where things can be frustrating. Still, for a dress up game centered around story-telling, I do think it’s on the higher end of quality. Thus, I’m giving it 3 stars. I’m not dazzled, but I am pleased.

Terrible Crafting System, Fun Story

It’s a nice game for the most part, but the crafting system leaves a lot to be desired. Basically, it’s one of those games that makes you wait to get things done unless you buy and waste a lot of their special currency for real money. That alone is pretty normal, but the availability of materials is inconsistent too- you have to catch when and where the materials are temporarily for limited quantity sale and won’t be able to advance in the levels without amassing increasingly large stockpiles of them. So there’s very little to do once you hit a wall with the crafting. Yes subsystems/minigames exist, but they aren’t fun and don’t really do much.
But, a huge positive: the story is fun and the animation isn’t bad. The interactive element is not just a ploy used in advertising- the story can go multiple ways and you can go back later to explore the other paths that were available. You can even send gifts to the characters in whatever story you’re playing through. Except when they’re “busy,” which might be exactly when you need to give them gifts to unlock a level. The clothes are pretty, even if crafting them takes a lot of patience. If it weren’t for the irritating crafting system and ease with which all the fun grinds to a tedious halt, I think I would very much like it.

Fun...

TimePrincess has been a fun change from the games I tend to play. You’ve got tons of clothes to unlock, craft, and dress your character with. Side challenges, such as Fantasy Fair, weekly games, and the cats, keep you busy while you’re getting enough resources to craft more clothes. The chat community is active though it could use moderators. The story lines are generally entertaining, although usually riddled with glaring typos.

However, IGG tends to push out way too much content all at once which overwhelms you and their own servers. Since the most recent update the game crashes frequently. And if that isn’t a pain on its own, the crash tends to happen in the middle of a story or some other situation that results in a loss of that turn or hearts spent for that story section. Additionally, it feels like IGG’s intent with these content dumps is to get players to spend diamonds, and ultimately real cash, so they can complete the many different challenge requirements for several different challenges in an attempt to obtain all the clothing rewards. I’m used to developer’s driven by bottom line profits, but IGG’s efforts are ruining a good thing. And don’t get people started on the free labor efforts IGG utilizes to get new clothing designs.

This game is okay in its current state, but could be better if the developers slowed down until they’ve worked out the current issues.

It can use improvement

I’ve often played like games like this before and usually they don’t last long. Usually because of horrible story lines but this one is so awesome! I have to give y’all kudos, these stories are so fun! The outfits are appealing and the UE design is appealing as well. Kahir’s skin on the other hand make him look just a little sickly. Perhaps the skin itself was too small for his UV’s and they got blown up just a little or the opposite. His eyes haunt me too. The craft system is excellent in theory but the materials are so hard to come by naturally and to use them is making me reluctant since some of them cause you to stockpile them just to create a single item. The encounters are a good way to come across them but only getting one or perhaps two item per encounter at the expense of stamina requires some saintly patience especially when you hit a wall with required items. Then it’s a really long waiting game. Especially with the endless cycle of resetting the board of who is there with cash, run out of stamina out in perhaps five to six encounters and come out with barely a quarter of the craft items excluding the items used to make gifts. One hellish waiting game. The cats are helpful, but add to the turmoil.

Very fun, but could be more inclusive.

First I want to start this review with saying that this game is very fun, the outfits and character designs are beautiful, and the stories do a great job at getting you invested in what’s going on - I’ve definitely spent hours playing this game without realizing it. It’s also pretty easy to get coins and gems without pulling out the wallet, which is something other games struggle with.

However, there is one glaring issue that I’m sure others may have noticed. This game is very . . . White. There are little to no POC characters, and even the ones that are supposed to be poc still appear predominantly white with fair skin instead of darker tones. It’s nice that they allow for our own characters to have various skin tones to represent us, the player, better - but it sort of defeats the purpose of having that as an option when the drawn images you receive in stories still shows our character as a white woman even if we aren’t. Now I know these images were most likely pre-drawn, but it wouldn’t be that hard to have alternates with different skin colors to better represent the player (I’ve seen it done in other games). This is really the only reason I’ve given it 4 starts instead of 5.

TL;DR: The game is super fun and beautiful, resources are easy to get without money - but poc aren’t included as much as they could be.

Fun Game

I’ve had this game for over a year now and I’d say overall they’ve improved a lot of the issues (particularly quantities of crafting materials) for newer stories. I’d say, going off of what several people have said my main frustration at this point is that they have events where you can buy outfits (I do spend money on this game, but not an egregious amount) but you typically only get the blueprint and therefore still have to craft the items that you pay actual money for and they typically use waaaaaay more materials than the story items. The season outfits and the fantasy fair clothing are great because once you buy them you have them and don’t have to use any crafting materials to get them. I think they could balance out between people willing to spend money vs those who don’t want to and just give you the items if you pay real money and have other players use diamonds for blueprints and use materials to craft as usual. I think they have been pretty good about taking in complaints and trying to fix issues with the game so that’s really my main complaint. I know some people don’t like that they release a story per month now, but some of us who have been playing longer have essentially played out all the older stories so I think that’s how they incentivize people to stay. Not to mention, not all the stories appeal to everyone so I think it’s good that they’re adding a variety.

Awesome HIGHLY RECCOMEND

The only thing I don’t like is that the ads are false advertising BUT I think TimePrincess is much better than what the ads say. It’s not about dressing stupidly and breaking up with a king, it’s about getting inside these awesome storyline stories with epic concept and many different versions. You can open different stories, not just one, for example I am in the “Queen Marie” story as well as the magic lamp. It is really good I am addicted. You are able to choose your own path and I like how it tells you if the decision you are about to make will change the story a lot though it puts me under a lot of pressure 😬. There are also little mini game stuff like popping balloons to get rewards and fireworks. I have to say, my favorite part is obviously the storybook, but my favorite thing BESIDES the storybook is the boutique. You can customize your own clothes and mix different clothes together to create a new one. There is also a gift maker in the boutique, where you can create gifts to give to people. It is overall a great game and I can tell a lot of work went in to making it.

a few recommendations

I absolutely love this game, yes there are many sets you have to pay for but it is completely playable if you play for free (I do that actually!!). I’ve had this game for a while now and I love how it upgrades and improves overtime. Just a thing, though, is that in season sets there isn’t much time to buy/wish for. It does get a bit frustrating considering the sets are so well done and there won’t be a next time to get those sets. Perhaps make it that there are other ways to get that set (NO CASH INVOLVED PLEASSSEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!). Also, this may just be a me thing but maybe we could access other parts of the house instead of just the room? I’m so curious to be honest because most of the imaginative things are in the books and not in real life. Maybe make it that we do have a life at least (😭) and that there are other ways we can access a story when we don’t have enough stamina yet. Overall this is a GREAT game and I totally recommend it, especially for those who love dress up games. Hopefully this was helpful feedback for new players and the game.

Easily the most fun game I have ever played

There’s really no two ways about it, I simply love this game. It is so much fun, there is always something to do, there are different events, and new things to try all the time! I love the stories, the music, the characters, the clothes, and absolutely the cats! I’m sure I’ve missed something I like but that’s okay. I play this game every day. I love doing the daily missions and puppet games. I especially love the Fantasy Fair mini game. It’s so fun. It stresses me out just a little because getting the coins in time before the fair ends seems kind of impossible. I truly hope we can get several shots at each outfit (that is several sessions for the same outfit reasonably interspaced). If there are any older people reading and wondering if this is a good game, IT IS. I’m 22 and I enjoy it so much. There’s somethings I would change, but it’s never going to be perfect so that’s fine. Regardless, I loved this game when I got it, I have loved every update that has come my way, and I am excited to see what the producers have in store. These game designers are geniuses and I am so glad I took a chance on this game.

I love this game

I love this game and the graphics, the dresses, the movement when you move the dress,EVERYTHING IS SO PERFECT. Anyway I came here to say that I would LOVE if y’all made a horse game with these same graphics because most games I download of horses they aren’t good and I would love to give you ideas all though I know making a game and graphics isn’t easy but here are my ideas:being able to ride in the open (many games don’t have that sadly), races with online players, dressage competitions with online players, not super expensive stuff because that can come to people uninstalling the game (including me), being able to costumize ur avatar (as a human) and having dresses as an option because that would be beautiful, being able to groom ur horses as long as u want because I like grooming my horse but some games only let me for like 15 seconds, and being able to add people, chats, and being able to be in online servers. I know my suggestions aren’t easy but I would love for y’all to at least consider it ❤️❤️❤️ I also fell in love with the dresses in this game they’re are just so beautiful 😍

Agree w GeekyNixie

I uploaded the game to play while stuck in bed after surgery. I found that I enjoy it much more than I expected to. Adore the clothes and the story line is very well written. Definitely done by someone with a good knowledge of English, unlike some of the other games I’m playing. As I explore the game, which I don’t find super intuitive (but I’m an adult) it’s also nice to find lots of ways to earn more diamonds and coins. The cons- once you get stuck bc you need an outfit with certain attributes, you can’t play other than to wait and collect diamonds and coins. And even while you collect wealth, if you need a particular item to craft the clothes needed for a level that item may or may not be available in Parvens shop. So you can be rich and you still can’t move on in the game. The solution is to borrow clothes from other players, but I like the privacy of playing alone. You also need a crazy volume of items to craft clothes and that is where the temptation to make purchases w real money comes in. If the items are available you want to be able to get them. So, I love the game and will keep playing but I can tell it’s going to take a while unless I cave and borrow clothes. I also wish there was an option to spend money to buy pieces of clothing with diamonds or coins instead of crafting everything. That would help if you are rich but stuck waiting for an ‘ingredient’ to craft with.
