Really Disappointed

I’m a huge fan of Lucydream games. Like a lot of you, Dangerousfellows was my intro, and Mayday Memory goes above and beyond in a lot of ways.

But the energy thing is ridiculous. Upgrading honestly isn’t that big of a deal, but it used to be 45 energy to advance through episode 16. Now it’s 95. Even that jump isn’t an issue.

My main problem is that you have ‘no’ way of exceeding the energy stores that you have beyond purchasing an upgrade or waiting for the daily login-in reward to override. But now there’s no energy until the end of the week.
Even then, with this jump in required energy, if ep 16 costs 95 energy then ep 18 must cost 105 or something, right?
Then you have to wait 2 weeks to play. And Ain’s eyes still disappear when he smiles.

I get that in-app purchases are needed, and I get that there’s a lot of content for that amount of money. Honestly, it’s fair. But there’s no alternative. There should at least be an option to gather ‘something’, or get ‘a’ free episode a day, or something. Or just present the game as ‘being’ a flat $13. Because right now, that’s basically what it is.
I would watch so many ads if the game would let me, and use gems to recharge past max, but again, unfortunately, it doesn’t.

I might wait and hope that there’s some kind of change, maybe I’m a very small minority in this. If nothing happens, I’ll probably drop the game and go back full-time to Obey Me! and IkeVamp.

Energy system

I really like the game so far. The story is interesting compared to the other otome games on the iPhone and the art is nice too.

However that aside, this game is not for those who are poor like me and either can’t or don’t want to spend money. It takes almost a full month for you to fill up all your energy. Right now I get 3 energy for every hour and a half. I didn’t even start out with that much to begin with either. Starting a chapter is already expensive and by the second round of multiple choice I can’t continue. It’s either wait till the next day so I can complete a single chapter and get all the story at once or play every couple of hours and get frustrated that I can’t finish a single chapter.

With the amount of adds on MaydayMemory you think maybe the energy system could be a little more forgiving but it’s not. I’ve played mobile games whos energy system may be lower, but fills a lot faster. I wish I could do some sort of mini game to fill up a limited amount of energy. Or even a warning of the totaled amount of energy that it will take per chapter at the beginning so I can get through the story and remember it.

Do with that information what you will but I don’t think the game devs would actually change anything.

It’s okay.

So my opinion on the game is that it’s a bit hard to play. First, the energy usage goes down in seconds. It’s hard to get enough energy to play the game with buying something I will say. And the cost of things is way overpriced. It should not cost almost 20$ for 100 energy. It’s not worth the money. Second, the ads. I get that all games have adds, but I feel for this type of game the ads are a bit excessive. I understand adds in otome games if you want extra diamonds or energy. But just for getting into the game or starting a episode is an ad, and a long ad too. But other than that I think the characters are super cute and have lots of personality.

Good in the beginning

I first downloaded this game when it first came out. It was super good and I enjoyed it throughly. I ended up going back and finding every ending and choosing all the options within the story. The story was good and the characters had amazing backgrounds. The problem I have was that within the updates my account had reset. I had lost all my progress and endings and had to do the entire story again from the beginning and all the progress I had with the characters were gone. The money I had spent on this game went down the drain, and with that and I don’t have the motivation to play anymore. Hopefully this won’t happen in future updates.

Good game, but gems and energy make it hard to play

I like this game a lot and had seen people recommend it, so I started playing recently. It’s very fun and interesting, but some of the mechanics make me almost want to drop the game. First, the ads. I understand almost every single game has ads and it helps support the team who made the game, BUT I have never seen so many ads in an otome game. I swear they happen after every chapter, you have to watch them to get energy and gems, so you have no choice but have to watch close to 3-5 ads per chapter if you want to do anything. I just think they should create a better or easier way to get gems and energy since it ends up ruining the game experience.

I love the game..except...

Ok so I LOVE this game, it is one of the best LucyDream games I’ve played and all the characters are very like able, but, the one thing that bothers me A LOT is the energy— I’ve been waiting for almost 2 days for my energy to be fully up again so I can play the game, I should be waiting one day at most for the energy to fully fill so I can play ONE CHAPTER but nope! And I cannot purchase any of the in game items because I don’t have that type of money. I just think that MaydayMemory isn’t very— how do I say this— like it’s not very friendly to people that can’t spend money?— and I understand you need to pay your employees and other people working on the game but come on! At least make the energy take less time to refill or else it’s just a waste of storage space on my phone!

Too many ads (and other issues)

The game itself had a very interesting storyline, and I got almost to the end of the game! There were only a few issues, the main one being ads. The amount of times an ad popped up mid story will never stop amusing me- someone could be dying and a n ad would pop up! This being paired with the amount of time it took for energy to restore, the amount of gems needed to get ONE GUY to like me back- and just the way it was not that good for F2P people (like myself) just turned me away in the end. Long story short, if the ads were lessened, energy was easier and faster to get, and the materials were easier to come by, the came would of been 100% better.

Game was amazing! But the endings…

I adored this game. Loved the comedy, the characters, the plot. Everything was just so memorizing and I was hooked!! A big fan of Lucy games here, so I played this right after dangerous fellows. I actually spent more money than I should’ve on this game…the system was iffy with me, but I was okay with paying for it.

Now, I reach the ending. After I spent so much time saving up for syds route and all the money down the drain—

The ending just…wasn’t satisfying? I was really hoping for more. Maybe it’s my fault for not realizing the age+ for this game. For a hot second, I really thought it was 12 or 17+, so I’d get at least one hot scene!! But alas, it’s not lol. Again, just the ending wasn’t worth all my waiting and money in my opinion? The game itself was, though.

Dang

I really lime the game. I like the protagonist and I really anticipate her having her own name since there's usually a little cognitive dissonance for me with these type games. (For example, if I'm playing as myself then it's a little weird if the choices I'm given don't line up with my actual reactions but since this a different character I'm all for it!) I really like the characters and pretty much everything about it.
However I don't like how the game makes you spend more energy the deeper you go into the story. A lot of the extra stuff takes some time to get to if you're like me and can't or don't want to pay for much. Aside from the small stuff I fully recommend the game!

Edit: OK, the fact that I have to spend more energy the more chapters I read is really getting on my nerves! What is the point to it?! All it does is slow the reader down and drafts everything out. Ten energy points was fine, fifteen was OK (I wasn't happy about it but I could live), but now the chapters take up around 30 energy points and that means there isn't enough left it do much in the actual story! SERIOUSLY IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE THE CHAPTERS SO PRICY MAKE THE ENERGY FILL UP HIGHER THE FARTHER YOU GO, FIND WEBSITES WHICH GIVE YOU ENERGY POINTS AND DON'T GIVE UNGODLY NUMBERS OF QUESTIONS JUST TO GET EVEN A CHANCE AT GETTING ENERGY, OR JUST MAKE ALL THE CHAPTERS THE SAME PRICE!!!

If you want it honest

My phone’s about to die so I’ll keep it kinda short:

It’s a pretty good app, I haven’t gotten through all the episodes yet because I don’t spend any money on it. Music is nice too.

1. Money- Very, very hard to not spend money on game. There is videos for free gems and stuff, but everything gets more expensive until you have to wait days. Please improve this if you can, it is a reason many people stop reading it

2. Home Screen- it is kinda confusing at first. Still don’t know what half the things do (what in the world are the puzzle pieces for and where can I find them to look at them?)

**************
3. Syd- I’m on episode 16. A few episodes before that, you made sweet little Syd become manipulative. “It’s just work don’t let your personal feelings in the way.” And “You’ll forgive me because you’re nice, right?” That’s manipulation. You ruined Syd’s character for me. I know he had a bad past (just like everyone else), but that’s just sick to me using that as an excuse especially when Dell was worrying over him because she didn’t want him to lose his memories like her.

I only give this four stars instead of three because it’s still a good game and everyone probably put a lot of hard work into it & because Hansol’s hot.

I like MaydayMemory, don’t let money keep you from reading it. Happy playing :)

A Really Good Game!

This game is really well thought out, the characters are lovable and each have distinct personalities that are so fun to explore. The story in general is captivating from the start. I have also made sure to check out their other games, and they have been interesting, but this one is by far the greatest, it has way more effort, better art, a more interesting and lengthy story, and better all around.

I just think that the menu is very cluttered, at the beginning it was very confusing to get used to. Also, I love the feature where you ‘text’ them to give them a gift, it’s a shame that such a broad feature is limited, and the conversations you have when you give them a gift aren’t saved when you come back. Just a thought, I totally recommend this game to anyone who is interested in visual novels, games that require you to make choices, dating sims, or even in a great art style.

Great, except for one thing

I have played both this game and Dangerous Fellows, and both were thoroughly enjoyable. I haven’t completed this one fully, but I like how each of the characters have their own charm. I also really love the music and just the general aesthetic of the game. The only thing that is an inconvenience is how every episode/choice requires energy. Without paying, the max energy is 30 and that’s pretty low considering how much some of the episodes cost. In Dangerous Fellows, although there were paid options that were required to get the endings, it was very easy to get energy. My only hope is that in the future it will be easier to get energy, the default energy capacity will be raised, and/or free/less expensive episodes.

Although my review was somewhat negative, I’d still like to say great job Lucydream, I will definitely keep playing your otome games in the future, and I’ll keep supporting you now! <3

Overall a Great Game

I really enjoyed Dangerous Fellows and was ecstatic to see Lucydream made a new game! I'm liking the story so far, but there is one glaring off putting factor: the energy levels regenerate excruciatingly slow. Rather than a traditional 5-ticket-per-day system or one similar to Dangerous Fellows, this app uses an energy system. Energy is used to access chapters and pick choices, and while there is nothing wrong with the system itself, the amount allotted and the price of chapters and choices is severely imbalanced imo. That being said, there are ways to attain more energy outside of waiting. I will continue to play the game and I still believe it is worth trying out, despite this annoyance. My only other curiosity is Jeff. Jeff is one of the main characters and one of the first people you encounter, at that. I will admit that I am not through the story, so I don't know if there's a reason he's not included in the love interests. If there isn't, will Jeff become a love interest in a future update? He's one of my favorite characters, so I would love to see that happen (if there are no complications, of course).

Hansol route, a pain

Okay. I don’t usually write reviews but this time, i think it’s better for me to do it.
Mayday memory is a great game, the story was nice with good characters. I have nothing against the writing, really, i was actually surprised about how good it is. But the problem is, Ain’s ending and Syd’s ending are easy to get because we got a ton of answers for them + they need less affection points than Hansol. And this is the problem. Hansol had less answers and they were always more expensive, maybe because he is more special, i don’t know? When we finish the story, if we picked EVERY answer for Hansol, we only have 1060 affection points and we need to reach 1500 affection points. And THIS is the problem. We can’t even farm affection properly because the items we farm are random, i always have syd’s and ain’s item. If you can change this, make it easier to get gift or affection points, then this game will be PERFECT. I never payed for the game and i still got the story ending, which means that it’s free to play right? Then prove yourself. Show us that we can really complete the game by adding something for affection points. Especially for Hansol.

One of the Best Storytaco Games

Personally I loved this one the best. Although the waiting time to unlock the episodes took a while, I watched a lot of ads and got redirected to shady sites and eventually finished the game within 3 days. That was honestly really annoying but the plot and the slow build for each route was very very worth it! It’d be good for you to pick it up when you have free time you can waste because there’s not much else you can do to gain more energy. The MC has a personality that I honestly really like so I’m kinda biased. If there were more games like this that includes a lot of timed choices and stories that you can review and go back to, I would play it more. I also really like the vibe of this game generally. The artstyle was very appealing, as always. The storyline was very interesting too! Mostly I like the fact that I could go back through the past stories though. Anyways, yeah! If you’re reading this, play it, please!

My new favorite otome game, by far

I could just gush on and on about this game from what I’ve played! The art is breathtaking, the music adds a whole new dimension to the scenes, and the transitions and visual effects make every action so much more enjoyable.

Not to mention it actually made me laugh?? Other otome games have the characters act serious or flirty for the entirety of the game, unless they’re crying over the MC being put in danger or their own sob story background. The interactions between these characters make their friendships believable, and I just love the amount of goofiness that some of their dialogue and reactions carry.

I fell in love, thank you for creating this game!

Very Impressive and good But....

This is the first time I review a game so bear with me...
It was pretty unique and interesting when I first played. The story was very well plotted and so was each characters. Hansol route was more harder to achieve then the rest so I was kind of frustrated. The thing that made me stress the most was the fact that the amount of energy you had to use got higher each episode and it takes a lot time just to get a good amount of energy to use. Although I used a lot of gems to get more energy, they get used up pretty fast. However I do like that you can double the amount of gems from your daily entry. Overall this game was pretty impressive and good. So I think you guys did a good job with the story.

Best Romance development

I have not encountered such great galgame for a while. Although I still do not think the main storyline is an A(In my heart it is a B+), but man, the romance development writing tho!!! I have not encountered such a good writing in galgame in years! No sexy selling elements, no cg selling, just pure logical, heartwarming conversations. They are truly great and natural, which is so rare in galgame. So natural and still here and there, something will make u sense the flirtation which is so kind and flirty at the same time. The writers are very good at developing relationship and reveal characters. I truly appreciate this story and the effort putting into writing it.(PS: thank u for the existence of Hansol. He is perfect in every way. Thank you for creating him. The humor, wow. Pls make sure the ppl working to make him and others read this comment and know that the effort was appreciated and I don’t usually speak so high of a romance game characters)

Yes yes yes!

Out of all the games I have played by these developers, I love this one! The energy system is amazing, no more having to pay outrageous prices of gems or coins for a good choice~~ you simply just have to wait for your energy to recharge or pay to have it automatically refilled! Which is so amazing! I loved dangerous fellow, and found it quite sad the options to further romanticize a character costed an enormous amount of gems with no other way of obtaining gems other than purchasing resulting in me ending with same ending each timeㅠㅠ but this games different I can tell I will love it for the many chapters to come! Thank you!!!

👍🏼🤍enjoyed

I enjoy playing it the story was interesting and art is nice too I LOVE HANSOL ENDING . I really LOVE Hansol ending I think it was the best ending out of the other endings the second ending I really like is Syd’s ending . I was shedding a butch of tears while reading the story :,( . I was so surprise too what I found about Dell I was just so sad and surprise my tears kept falling when I was reading about her past . I also liked the funny parts and when the characters were making jokes and flirting with Dell :D . I also didn’t spend any money to get all the endings. I just kept on watching a lot of ads to get gems , energy and I had this game for 9 months because I was busy with school work so I had a lot of gems and energy to complete all the endings .
