This game literally requires no WiFi to run but you’re not allowed to play with your WiFi off because they’ve gotta make that 5 cents off of you by literally spamming you with ads at the end of every play. It’s shady and literally the main reason mobile gaming as a whole is a joke when companies do stuff like this and put no effort into making a decent game but rather make a skeleton game that’s made just for you to pump ads into and take advantage of people.

As soon as you turn your internet connection off the game decides that suddenly you need WiFi to reset a map that doesn’t even reset, imagine getting this game to play on a flight and the second you start to play the game it says you need a connection and now you’re bored the entire flight, this company is a joke as this is a running thing in their atrocious games filled with pigeon English and half hearted “gameplay.”

Edit: EVEN WHEN YOU TURN OFF YOUR WIFI AFTER YOU FIRE THE HOOK THAT JUST MAKES THE GAME CRASH! Lol this company is such a money hungry and greedy entity they go out of their way to screw you over whenever there’s not money in it for them, congratulations on becoming a bigger joke than Voodoo.

I like the game, don’t get me wrong but there is just so many ads. What I think is like every 2,3 or 4 turns would be good enough. But I know the cause of these ads is so they can get lots of money from those ads, and since there a handful of people playing this game money keeps on rushing in so quickly. So if you could developers please I’m begging you just remove SOME of the ads, thank you. Ok and I’m quite a mobile gamer myself, I love idle games like this, I play on Xbox most of the time, but Ive never seen so many gosh darn ads so like I said before, please just remove some. And now, we play the waiting game(unless they don't do anything about that is) and before I made this comment yes I did look at over reviews and of corse every body (including me) had the same problem and, they do nothing about it, so I don’t even know the point of this comment. But, I guess it’s worth a try, right?

You have way to many ads in the game. There is a ad after every 2 go’s. You can at least do it after 4 try’s. The ads are annoying but what is most annoying is the internet problem. This game is just like the submarine and backflip game, you need internet for a game that doesn’t have any online features or leaderboards. Are you just trying to make sure no one is skipping out on the ads because they are so annoying. I mean you can get in the game but when you click to play it say no connection....... bruh stop being greedy. People wouldn’t have to try and go offline if you didn’t have a lot of ads. Please I am begging you, this is a good game but there is just ad and internet problems. Please fix this.

This might be the first review I have ever wrote for a game, with that being said this game is a lot of fun for the two hooks you send out before you get an ad. The fact that you get an ad every 30 seconds kills the game and makes the developers seem very greedy and the fact that there are so many good reviews is very suspicious because all of the reviews I read are either like mine with actual people explaining their hatred of the ads or an obvious bot review saying it’s the best game ever if there were no bot reviews this game would probably sit at 2-3 stars purely because of the ads. I understand they need to make money but I have never played a game that has as many ads as this one, maybe think about adding an option to pay to remove the ads.

I have a lot of complaints about this game. First, there’s an insane amount of ads that I hate because my game froze just from playing an ad. So I had to restart HookandSmash .
Second, the game itself. It’s so extremely laggy, and it’s 0 fun. Then the fun goes negative because, of course, a ridiculous amount of ads. Seriously, I’ve never had a mobile game lag that was so simple.
Third, I don’t understand the game itself. I didn’t understand the mechanic of “distance.” It’s limiting you in a way but I don’t understand it. Maybe that’s just me being stupid though.
To conclude, I’ve never played a game that I had so little interest in playing. Genuinely hate it.

I use to like this gam and play it a lot I don’t mind adds but then my power went off for five hours and I decided to play th8s game but it would not work so ever since then my nana got me a hotspot for my birthday and when I tern it off for at least two seconds it just want let me play the game I gave it no rate because eit is so horrible. The game is fun and has a fun concept but there are to many ads literally after every like 25 seconds there is an ad very fun but too many ads. And usually you can go around ads by just turning your phone on airplane
mode. But the producers try to get as much money as the can do when ever you go on airplane mode you get a notification about no network and can’t even play the game. It’s stupid I would rate it 4-5 if it didn’t have ads every 30 second and if I could actually play for over 30 seconds because it’s fun but I DONT RECOMMEND IT ONLY BECAUSE OF ADS.

So this game has a fun premise that would be good for an idle game. However, as many reviews note, it has a lot of ads. For a lot of games, people get around this by turning on airplane mode. I tried to do that with this game but for some reason, the game won’t let you actually play if you do this. Instead, it gives a notification saying no network connection. I’m not really sure what about the gameplay requires an internet connection, since we are just tapping the screen and knocking buildings down, but there might be something I’m missing.

Almost all ad-supported games have an option at the end of each round to let you CHOOSE to watch an ad to get a 3-times multiple of that round’s score, and this game has the offer as well. However, if you chose to stay with the current score and skip the ad, it plays an ad anyway, without increasing your score. Rounds consist of 3 or 4 seconds of gameplay, with a mandatory ad between each round. I would pay the reasonable 3 bucks to remove the ads, but other reviews have reported that you still are inundated with ads after paying to remove them. No thanks!

I’d give you 0 stars if I could because of the OVERUSE of ads. I am deleting it because you people clearly don’t know how to make a good game. A real game don’t stop after EVERY. SINGLE. GESTURE To show an ad. For anyone reading this, save your data and don’t download this trash it’s not even a game it’s continual ads with a tiny game break. Very poor quality and not only that I do not support over greedy developers i understand you need to make some money, but you literally could dial ads back to every 5 games and it would still be more than enough. Change your crap.

i do a lot of air travel for business and I like to play these mind numbing games to pass time. Well as we began to leave the tarmac I turned my phone on airplane mode and opened the game but it wouldn’t let me continue. Said I had no connection (which was true) but I’ve never had another one of these games do that.

Overall the game seems like it could be enjoyable but I was so disappointed that when I finally got service and decided to try it out, I just felt like I was wasting my time.

I was in a car playing on meh phone until I stoped on this game and I gave it a try I fell ASLEEP ON MEH CAR RIDE IDE BECAUSE THE GAME IS SO ANNOYING plus WAY TO MANY ADS I was playing and every time I was PLAYING I WAS LOGGED OUT BY A AD I KNOW OT WAS WERID I GOT LOGGED OUT FROM A AD puke meh network was on ;-; so this game is really boring and they just wanna add ads so they can get money but that is a smart thing but your game is not good so why play it? Meh sister played it and the next thing I see is her sleeping half way and she woke up and I asked her why you went to sleep she went “the game is boring” SO YEAH.. just work on your game to make it better. This game has sooooooooo much ads I can’t have fun on the game. Every time I collect my money their is a ad. This is a game for people that likes to look at ads which who does. This game is a wast of your time don’t down load this game. It will tack you so much time on HookandSmash to rank up because you have to watch a ad when you get your money. I gave this a game a one star review because of the ads. I o most broke my phone playing this. Don’t wast your time playing this because you will get mad a probably beak your phone over these ads. Highly not recommend!!!!!!!!! I’m not playing this game entail these ads stop. ONE STAR REVIEW!!!!!!

This game is amazing and satisfying it is one of the best really good game, you need to look at the amount of ads you put, it is a lot, I should’ve put 3 or 4 starts on the rating but I put a 5 as the game is fun, be carful on the amount of ads, it will probably give you bad ratings in the future

I have never ever wrote a review but this game is just so awful I had to. Like others are saying this game’s premise is pretty fun but the developers RUINED it by spamming your screen with ads about every turn, and if you think turning your WiFi/Cellular off will save you from ads like in other games you’re dead wrong. This company IS SO GREEDY that they have a kill switch built in to lock the game down when you try to play offline because they just NEED that 3 cents per ad revenue... Just a awful game, I deleted after about 2 turns

This game has too many ads! Every time when I would get the hook back and a other stupid ad will pop up I know that you what money but if you put to many ads in a game look this one no one will what to get this game. But if you take away lots of the ads a whole lot of people will get this game okay. And I’m sick and tired of this game having to many ads! So if anyone is reading this than please DONT GET THE GAME it has to many ads in it!

Okay cool spam me with ads won’t let me turn off WiFi. I get it you have to make money but the way you spam ads is idiotic how about just allow additional bonuses for watching ads willingly deleted game do not download. The game is alright but the ads ruined my entire night I’ll be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. Kwalee I will not be downloading any of your apps anymore and I will be leaving negative reviews on each one of your applications. Learn how to run a business idiots.

This game is really fun, but the level of ads is asinine. There’s an ad after every play it seems, and each one is at least 30 seconds that you have to sit through.
I would honestly be willing to pay for an ad free version because they are so disruptive, but that’s not even an option, which is very frustrating. I would literally pay for this if you gave me the option.

the point of mobile games is to actually PLAY the game. not just get bombarded by ads every 25 seconds. Normally it’s easy to get around this by turning on airplane mode, but the bs no connection warning prevents you from playing the game without connection. why? no reason. you don’t even need internet to play the game. the company that made HookandSmash just wants to maximize profits without keeping the consumer in mind. deleting immediately. cool concept IF I COULD ACTUALLY PLAY FOR LONGER THAN 30 SECONDS.

For every 30 seconds you get in game, you spend 10-15 trying to skip through an ad. It gives you the option to watch an AD to double rewards from your last run, and EVEN IF YOU DON’T DO IT, IT SENDS YOU INTO AN AD 2/3 OF THE TIME.

I understand that advertisements support the game and allow it to be free, but this is way over the top.

Please don’t install this game unless you want to spend 1/2 of your time watching ads to make this random trash company even more money

This game is completely fine, but why so many ads? I seriously had to turn off my WiFi just to stop the ads, but it said I couldn’t play without connection. What part of this game needs WiFi? Do you really need that extra few dollars from the ridiculous amount of ads you put in this game? I’m used to having many, many ads on mobile games but that problem is solved by switching off the WiFi, but this won’t even let me do something as simple as that just because the game wants its money. Also, the floating ads are distracting and annoying.

Ok so this is a good game and all but they put an ad like every time you do a single thing and it gets annoying having to wait to X out an ad just to do a single thing so if your kinda inpatient I would not recommend HookandSmash for you.
