I work for a 4-star Charity Navigator rated 501c3 military nonprofit organization, and whenever I try to share posts with hashtags like “military,” “veteran,” to promote our events, I get error messages. This has been going on for years. It never happens when I post anything about myself, my kids, my pets, nature, or my life in the gym—the main other things I post about. This app fully shadow bans the content with military hashtags, even though the organization I work for is extremely well-reputed. It’s very frustrating and disheartening for me. I’ve had to work around this by creating the patriotic content on TikTok and sharing to Instagram, which seems to circumvent the shadow ban. Very disappointed in Repost for censoring and controlling the information we are allowed to share—especially because all I’m tying to do is help raise money to support veterans and their families.

Application indicates 3 days free trial; however, upon immediate cancelation, within 2 minutes, it has already charged me an annual fee that is a membership for up to August 2022. Why I don’t want that; why I am trying to cancel within 2 minutes of the not free at all “free trial?” Well, because this app is supposed to allow reposting stories; when I try to do so (from a public profile, with credentials and everything), it says, “reposting stories is yet not allowed; try to repost a regular post!” Why on earth would I want to download a repost app to repost regular posts? Instagram itself already provides the option to do that. To give them the benefit of the doubt, this is an extremely poor and misleading app as it is in this moment, that is the least to say.

The app is easy to use and ad free although I keep getting asked to write a review even right after I got it and hadn’t used the app much. Now that I’ve used it some I can write a more informed review. I like it because it’s easy to use and I can repost original comments. It doesn’t always give me a watermark to attach though. Mostly it annoys me though because it crops the photos and videos I’m reposting. Sometimes it crops out part of the image that is important. There is no way to keep it from cropping. It looks normal during the entire process but then once it’s posted, it’s cropped. Also it didn’t work with posts that have multiple photos or videos. It only reposts the first one. I guess I shouldn’t complain because it’s free and doesn’t have ads but why would I be moved to pay for the pro version if something this basic is going wrong in the free version? I think I’ll try some other apps and see if I like another one better.
