Indispensable resource

Before CocoonWeaver came into my life, I was all over the place — and I still am! But now it’s manageable, like an organised chaos. My therapy sessions are more rewarding because I can go back into my “feelings” cocoon and tell my therapist everything that I wanted to tell him that past week instead of relying on “mental notes” that will realistically last two minutes or less.

As a writer, I can organise my thoughts no matter where I am. No more scrambling for a pen and forgetting what I wanted to write by time I find one. I finished two short stories in a week.

Also, the highly customisable nature of CocoonWeaver makes it better than anything else I’ve ever tried. You don’t need to conform to a premade structure that might not work for you, and you can write OR say your thoughts, depending on where you are and what you need; it’ll transcribe your recordings for you too. I know, transcription can be really iffy, but as far as that goes it could really be worse.

If I could make a suggestion for improvement, it would be to implement subfolders. Like, if I had a “writing” cocoon for example, and then a “short stories” and “novels” cocoon within that, and individual stories within those. Other than that, I don’t think there is a single thing you could do better. Thanks for this incredible app!

App caught my eye….

I always journal. But lately I’m swamped (building a new house, renovating the current one, handling my special needs teen) and can’t get to writing. So I wanted an app that provided a quick place to store my thoughts, mistakes and self-reflection as I stumble through the daily challenges. I love CocoonWeaver because it’s got a very zen feeling accomplished by the visuals and ease of moving around within CocoonWeaver . I divided my life into different cocoons and check back in quickly to note my patterns whether they are healthy or unhealthy etc. I like the fact that I can also quickly access all notes I’ve ever written. It’s just got a lovely visual and it’s easily organized. Some apps overwhelm me. This doesn’t. I emailed the developer with a question and received a response within a very short period. They are very helpful.

BEST APP - ESSENTIAL

CocoonWeaver is absolutely essential for capturing all of my ideas throughout the day. I love that it transcribes my thoughts and also keep the audio of the note created, along with date, time, and optional location.

The visuals of CocoonWeaver are stunning - it is simple and has beautiful colors to organize the notes. I have an ADHD brain. I’m also a mother of two young boys, a wife to a man with an ADHD brain, and a teacher... and how could I forget...the owner of an adorable golden retriever - my life and brain moves fast. CocoonWeaver keeps up while also providing a peaceful place to capture my fleeting thoughts during the organized chaos, whether the thought is a grocery list or reflections on a poem I read.

Beautifully delivered, perfectly accessible for all my needs. Thank you so much for CocoonWeaver!

Organization I didn’t know I needed!

Love CocoonWeaver- helps me group and organize my stream-of-consciousness monologues that I want to remember and record. Sometimes CocoonWeaver quits suddenly when I’ve recorded a cocoon and it’s transcribing and I try and move quickly trying to record another one. If a cocoon is still transcribing when CocoonWeaver suddenly quits sometimes it keeps trying to transcribe it even when I close CocoonWeaver and reload it. Maybe I’m just moving too fast when CocoonWeaver is already working to transcribe a long thought. I ended up deleting the cocoon that kept trying to transcribe since it seemed to just keep trying and slowing things down. Not a big problem because it only happened when I was moving really fast to see how quickly I could close/open/ start/ delete, start a thought. I’ll just let the cocoon finish transcribing before I try a new one next time!

Comforting, well made app

I’ve always fancied myself a journaling reflective kind of person, but i never had the patience to sit down and write. CocoonWeaver is the solution! I’ve looked into journal apps, but the audio feature was always a side note or required a subscription. This is an honest, good app. The interface is attractive, the functions are simple and accessible, not flooded with ads. Really a perfect app; I’m always recommending this to others.

Not a critique, but a fun idea rather? I’d love if the bubbles in the main screen changed size with how many notes were in there. not necessary, maybe just a fun setting you could turn on to see what you’re thinking about the most. Depends on the need of the user.

Anyway, I adore CocoonWeaver and it fits into my life really well!

Perfectly Meets My Needs

CocoonWeaver is exactly what I have been searching for everywhere! No need to buy more gadgets. CocoonWeaver records my thoughts when I get them, immediately transcribes what I have recorded, and categorizes the set of thoughts the way I like to do it. The transcriptions can be edited easily within CocoonWeaver . When I am ready to use the transcriptions they will be available; otherwise, I can add to each one, or create new ones within each category, or create new categories as I choose. Excellent app. In time, with proven success, I will be contributing $$$ to the developers of this product. These guys deserve a high five.

The features are not worth it

I'll stick with the regular voice memo app.... I was drawn to the pretty interface and the auto-organization (it annoys me that Apple voice memos do not automatically put a date lol) but CocoonWeaver doesn't work. The main problem is the dictation element. It straight up DOES NOT WORK. It will not load dictation no matter how long I give it. Not to mention that it's completely inaccurate, but most dictation is. I don't really need dictation but you can't turn it off. The trouble is that you cannot tell which voice memo is which because they all perpetually say "Loading..." I also wish that you could manually merge voice recordings like other apps let you do... Apple also doesn't have this but it DOES allow you to pause the voice recording and then continue which Cocoon does not. Useful ideas, very pretty looking app, not actually worth it ://

Amazing app, just one frustration

CoccoonWeaver presents such a refreshing way of organizing things that makes it feel to me as though all of my ideas are exactly where they are supposed to be, regardless of how recently I thought of them or what the first letter of their title is. Honestly a fantastic app.

However… I’ve noticed some recurring bugs that occur specifically when trying to move the cursor around on a page or when trying to select certain areas of text to copy/cut/delete etc. It’s the smallest annoyance but it tends to come up so frequently for me that I felt I just had to address it if nobody had already. Other than that, I love the organizational nature, the privacy, and literally everything else about CocoonWeaver .

CocoonWeaver

I've really enjoyed this app so far. I tend to be on the go a lot, and while I respect the value of journalling, I appreciate the accessability and efficiency that this app offers. Whether I just need to verbally freewrite or capture a quick thought, this app offers a way to do that and categorize it. In future versions, I would love the option to lock CocoonWeaver with a password for extra security (that might already be an option, and I'm just not technologically savvy enough to know how to do that). And I've heard that the company plans to create a version that allows you to retrieve recordings you may have...accidentally deleted (face palm), so I look forward to that. I would definitely recommend CocoonWeaver.

Beautiful, thoughtfully crafted app!

I have been tirelessly trying to find any app that comes even close to this one for a year now.... so my sincerest gratitude to your obviously talented and creative selves for developing this. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Beyond the organizational factors, the elegant design and ease of functionality, the transcription is nearly dead on. Unbelievable! Mighty fine innovators! I rarely leave reviews but I have to praise CocoonWeaver to the highest level possible and I hope that you get all the accolades and prosperity that you most definitely deserve. Just through CocoonWeaver, I may finally be able to make my dreams come to fruition much sooner. Cheers, team!

No autosave and unintuitive interface

I don't understand how an app selling itself for “instant” “spontaneous” idea catcher does not have autosave? At first it was only annoying— i accidentally deleted quick notes i could repeat. But today for the upteenth time after months of usage, I deleted a whole scene I had written! The unintuitive “done” (why not ‘save’?) is hidden/blends to easy and it easy to miss for the button that looks like it could be the back function but instead deletes the whole note!

At first I thought it was user error but its not gotten better with time. But why does it not autosave like ever other decent notes app? No autosave and unintuitive interface (at least where it matters — oh its pretty colours alright!) have made CocoonWeaver completely unusable to me.

dream journaling

I like using CocoonWeaver for dream journaling because I can record my memories from the dream using my voice with my eyes closed, which helps me with recall, but then I can still have a text version of the note to look through later. I was using the built in Voice Memos app before but this is so much better. I also recommended it to a friend who dream journals too and who said they have an easier time speaking than writing out their thoughts (I prefer typing myself, except the specific case of recording my dreams). Glad I found this one!

This app needs a Widget feature on home screen ! 😁

I love CocoonWeaver so much as it’s super useful to me.
I find myself always using it to help keep track of my thoughts instead of relying on my mental notes to write it down later!

As my title suggests, I believe if you make CocoonWeaver have a widget feature for the Home Screen it would make accessing it much more fluid (for me personally because I rely on the widgets on my home screen daily)
Just a suggestion! Thanks for reading 😊

Well done!

Nicely thought out organization of thoughts and I like how it recognizes words despite any accent and ignores filler words which can be a pain to delete. The only thing I can think that might be a cool addition in the future is to add a feature that when you scroll the audio forward, it highlights your spot. If it didn’t catch something properly, it would be a nice way to find what you meant to say and correct it. Still say 5/5 stars

Also thank you petting the dog and you have some gorgeous views of the alps!

Helpful and User-friendly!

I love CocoonWeaver! I was introduced to CocoonWeaver from the adhd_anxiety Reddit. I have ADHD, Executive functions issues and Slow Processing Speed, so I forget things easily, have trouble organizing and have trouble writing. It’s so great to be able to take notes and have them written down just by speaking and easily organize my thoughts. The video instructions are simple and helpful. CocoonWeaver is user friendly and is also aesthetically pleasing. CocoonWeaver is great and I recommend it.

Really good start, need a couple of improvements.

I really like CocoonWeaver - the surprise is that it has the potential to be a great app for journaling. Excellent voice to text translation, even off-line, and overall design and simplicity of use.

The lack of couple of items of functionality prevent me from using it as my main journaling app and catch-all reminder app:

1. When exporting the text translations from a cocoon, there is no date or time stamp associated with the entry. This prevents journaling use for me.

2. There needs to be an option for a badge count on CocoonWeaver icon that can be turned on and associated with one of the cocoons - like one used as the “inbox.” Otherwise I can forget I have an item in the “inbox” that needs attention. Consequently, I use another voice recording app that has a badge count.

If only these two things were address, I would give it 5 stars.

Convenient, Easy and Intuitive

CocoonWeaver is a wonderful idea and is implemented extremely well. The design and interface has everything you could need without being cluttered. I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of CocoonWeaver; great care and attention was put into creating it and managing it, and because of that, it is an app that I find myself using several times a day. Really happy I found CocoonWeaver.

By

cool idea but too manual

no way to automate exporting data makes CocoonWeaver extra work for me. A new way of capturing information easily does not necessarily have to mean that one has to use a new note taking app entirely. It should be much easier to get my data out of CocoonWeaver and into any other app I want. There is a Shortcuts feature, but it's only to get information into CocoonWeaver rather than out. it's a cool concept, but I'm not going to use it until there is an easier way to export *my* data into my information management system.

By

Amazing app - please add one key feature

I love CocoonWeaver for random thoughts, dream journaling and on-the-go journaling.

I wish it had the option to backup to cloud based storage. I lost years worth of journaling with the Penzu app (do not recommend) and now I’m paranoid of that type of thing happening again so I only use journaling / notes apps that backup to Dropbox or iCloud.

I still love CocoonWeaver and am recording dreams there since it’s so easy!

Instant Home Screen!

It's not often that a new app gets a prominent place on my primary Home Screen. Cocoon Weaver is a unique "voice memo and transcription" app with calm, intuitive, theming and MANY other welcome subtleties. Spoken organization is brilliant; speak a category name at the beginning of a recording and CocoonWeaver automatically flows to that collection--with the recording immediately transcribed on completion (device only for privacy). A switch to map view can also show geolocations for more context. But the MAIN thing I've realized is that, unlike other recording apps, Cocoon Weaver is designed as a place my creative mind can INHABIT, think about, and organize ideas before export to other apps (or) sharing ideas. It's just NOT the usual perfunctory, cold, "Folder and File" user interface and that makes ALL the difference. I didn't know I needed this! Cocoon Weaver is full of heartfelt, practical, and thoughtful refinements, easy onboarding, and amazing technical user interface design.

Doesn’t save text fast enough

I was thrilled to find both audio and text note capabilities, the visual setup is also really nice to look at to keep topics and thoughts organized. This is exactly what I need! After spending the day today taking notes in it, I hope this can be fixed. CocoonWeaver doesn’t always auto-save text notes when I close or jump to another app (like Safari or Notes) so I lost paragraphs and paragraphs of work I organized. I can’t figure out how to gauge the way the save works for CocoonWeaver , I tried closing and re-opening and also going out of the Cocoon back to the main Cocoon web. The data appears saved but is just gone a lot when I come back to the individual Cocoon. I started marking where I stop with a * so I can track how often this is happening and it’s enough to give up on CocoonWeaver . I understand it’s primarily for audio notes but I need to be able to save my work in this type of app.

Does everything it promises

I honestly don’t like the sound of my own voice, but Cocoon Weaver is fun and innovative enough for me to give it a try. It might take you a few tries to get it right, but once you get used to it it’s rather easy to organize your thoughts and ideas. It was easy to follow along with the instruction video, and the colors really blew me away. CocoonWeaver gives you plenty of guidance when you need it, but also gives you the opportunity to learn how it works on your own. It’s not 100 percent perfect with transcribing word notes, but I do tend to stumble over words a lot so that’s to be expected. CocoonWeaver is continuously being improved, and I highly recommend you give it a chance.

This app is TOP tier!

Flawless design, fantastic interface and such an amazing idea for an app. I have ADHD, and anxiety. I also suffer from severe aphantasia and brain fog. CocoonWeaver has done so much for me in remembering things I wouldn’t normally have even thought to write down in the first place. Being able to use my voice to take down notes is a game changer and the way the cocoons work is absolutely wonderful. It deserves way more than 5 stars. But I’ll just say 11/10 I WOULD recommend you download CocoonWeaver because it’s user-friendly, and you can use it for everything in your life!!! Logging dreams, reminders, and even random thoughts.

Ideal app for overthinkers

I find CocoonWeaver really helpful as someone always looking to release the thoughts of a busy mind. I have filled many physical journals up with my thoughts but just recording and speaking them out loud into CocoonWeaver keeps them organized and actually helps with my mental health! It’s been nice listening to myself afterwards too which is great for reflection.

The only thing I think could be improved is the accuracy of the voice to text recognition, but I find that’s a pretty common issue among many voice to text programs. Other than that, this is a great app to use on a daily basis to express yourself :))

Such a cool app <3

I was lucky enough to have the creator of CocoonWeaver suggest trying it out in a studying group on Reddit and I am so glad I did! This makes my constant mental notes that I’ll remember later (I don’t) - actually happen. Whether I’m doing heavy reading for my classes and I just can’t bear the thought of picking up a pencil, or playing Skyrim and just trying to remember which quest I was doing last, or where I stored all my treasures- CocoonWeaver has made my life easier. I also really enjoy the general calming overtones. It’s clear the creator put a lot of intentional effort into it, and I’m looking forward to any other projects they embark on!

I love this app

I’ve been using CocoonWeaver for a few years now. I had been looking for an app and a space where I could get more in touch with my thoughts and what is going on in my head and heart. I love CocoonWeaver and the way it is designed and allows someone to organize things. I love the transcription feature and where it takes your audio and verbal information and transcribes it into a text. I find that helpful for being able to reflect back later and find former entries. I much prefer this over my voice memos, and being able to store this information in a safe space.

By

This could be life changing

As someone who has been keeping an audio journal for years, I find that doing so can be really cathartic and empowering, but that my thoughts often end up stuck in an inaccessible box. CocoonWeaver means that I’ll be able to continue that journey, but that my notes and ideas will be accessible. The fact that the transcription happens on the device, and that the developers eschew accessing it is a killer feature. Privacy is really important, but more so when journaling. Thank you so much for creating such an awesome app!

Transformative App

As the world is filled with chaos and dissonance, CocoonWeaver has allowed me to bring me back to my center: my own voice. I cut through the overstimulation and return my attention to my own thoughts, ideas, dreams, and fears.

CocoonWeaver is so much more than just a voice recording app. The beauty in its responsive and intuitive UI, the ease at which I can quickly record a note, and the ability to “cocoon” those thoughts into digestible recordings makes anything from documenting dreams to compiling a gift list as simple as touching the icon.

I especially like visiting my cocoons later to listen to myself speak with intention and translate my enthusiasm about a particular topic I was thinking of at the time!

Possibilities abound, I foresee this app to be the missing link that many will discover when forging ahead on their self-acceptance journeys. I know I have.

My Dream App!

This is CocoonWeaver for Creatives. Simple, intuitive, private. It records your voice then transcribes it almost instantly. If you are a writer, composer, philosopher, this is CocoonWeaver for you! I purchased an older iPhone just to run CocoonWeaver and am absolutely in love with this app. While this version works pretty darned well, apparently an improved version is now released. There’s nothing else exactly like this on the market. I know; I searched for 10 years! No need to even have a SIM card to run CocoonWeaver, just Wi-Fi to download CocoonWeaver . Recordings and transcriptions can be transferred to a computer

Helped me in college

I am a college student with ADHD and CocoonWeaver helped me SO MUCH. I struggle to get ideas out of my head and type long assignments, so I thought to use a transcription app to get them down by speaking - but normal voice-to-text is extremely unreliable and distracting when you see the words pop up as you talk. On the contrary, Cocoon is so so so accurate, fast, and easy to use, plus you can go back and listen to the recording. It is easily the best app I’ve gotten for school, and I also use it for personal thoughts now.

Best app for journaling

this app is in my opinion the best app for recording your thoughts, daydreams, feelings, epiphanies and everyday musings. I would definitely say it has enhanced and helped strengthen my mental health and well-being to be able to speak all of these things into a story each night before bed. A way to unload my brain and get me into a safe cozy zen moment as I prepare to sleep. CocoonWeaver is very easy to use and that is good because I am not very tech savvy and I just prefer a simple straightforward way of doing things. It is stress free which is the whole idea behind journaling ~ to have less stress in life, and organize your thoughts, or at the very least speak about your feelings which somehow feels more healing than manually writing them. A very convenient app that has helped me with my poetry, my struggles, recording my dreams and giving me clarity about situations. Thank you!
