I'll stick with the regular voice memo app.... I was drawn to the pretty interface and the auto-organization (it annoys me that Apple voice memos do not automatically put a date lol) but the app doesn't work. The main problem is the dictation element. It straight up DOES NOT WORK. It will not load dictation no matter how long I give it. Not to mention that it's completely inaccurate, but most dictation is. I don't really need dictation but you can't turn it off. The trouble is that you cannot tell which voice memo is which because they all perpetually say "Loading..." I also wish that you could manually merge voice recordings like other apps let you do... Apple also doesn't have this but it DOES allow you to pause the voice recording and then continue which Cocoon does not. Useful ideas, very pretty looking app, not actually worth it ://

I don't understand how an app selling itself for “instant” “spontaneous” idea catcher does not have autosave? At first it was only annoying— i accidentally deleted quick notes i could repeat. But today for the upteenth time after months of usage, I deleted a whole scene I had written! The unintuitive “done” (why not ‘save’?) is hidden/blends to easy and it easy to miss for the button that looks like it could be the back function but instead deletes the whole note!
At first I thought it was user error but its not gotten better with time. But why does it not autosave like ever other decent notes app? No autosave and unintuitive interface (at least where it matters — oh its pretty colours alright!) have made this app completely unusable to me.

I was thrilled to find both audio and text note capabilities, the visual setup is also really nice to look at to keep topics and thoughts organized. This is exactly what I need! After spending the day today taking notes in it, I hope this can be fixed. The app doesn’t always auto-save text notes when I close or jump to another app (like Safari or Notes) so I lost paragraphs and paragraphs of work I organized. I can’t figure out how to gauge the way the save works for the app, I tried closing and re-opening and also going out of the Cocoon back to the main Cocoon web. The data appears saved but is just gone a lot when I come back to the individual Cocoon. I started marking where I stop with a * so I can track how often this is happening and it’s enough to give up on the app. I understand it’s primarily for audio notes but I need to be able to save my work in this type of app.
