I downloaded this game because I love picross games. I’ve poured hours into Picture Cross and completed it’s thousands of puzzles. However, I was extremely disappointed to realize this is a simply a copy of that game, Picture Cross. After playing a few puzzles of the main board, I realized the puzzles are on the exact same spot and the solutions are copies of the Picture Cross puzzles. The only difference is the finished image which is colored differently, often leading to confusingly colored images that don’t fit what the image represents. I wouldn’t be surprised if the entire board was an exact copy. Even the same tutorial is used (Easy as Pi)! Such low effort used as it’s essentially a copy of a game released years ago. Not to mention the way rows and columns automatically fill with X’s when it detects it’s filled, and erases all of them again when a square is removed. This often leads to frustrating moments when I had manually X’ed a box only for it to be removed later. There should be an option to disable this automatic X’ing. Actually, I’ll just play Picture Cross, which is the original game where Pixel Cross stole all 400 solutions from. Developers, try to be original next time. It can’t be hard to create original pixel art puzzles, but I suppose stealing 400 from another game is a much more effortless way to create a game. What a shame. 1/5.

But; SO many ads. Fun for a puzzle, then literally wait 15-30 minutes to play another (for your gems to restore); or, watch 3 ads. Want the daily “gift” bonus that other games give you? Watch an ad. Just finished a puzzle? Chances are; watch a forced ad.

Gameplay wise, good but desperately needs an undo function (even just a single move; come on guys it’s not that hard). If you mistap (easy to do) then tapping again to clear the Mistap will clear out the rest of the row if it was autofilled. But At that point you don’t know what you filled vs. was autofilled, so you’re kind of screwed.

Cut the ads to 25% of the current rate and it’ll be inline with other games and less of a money-grab; and add undo. Then it’ll be a 4-5 star game. Until then I’ll just throw this into a folder somewhere and wait to see if it gets updated.

There’s another app I play that I enjoy called Picture Cross. It’s how I learned about this type of puzzle and how I mastered it. When I saw another app of course I wanted more so I got it.
But as the nearly exact same name implies it’s just a poor copy of picture cross.
It being a copy past from the get is a bad impression but the pictures you get are random colors for each square and you get so many obnoxious add again and again.
If you want a game like this get picture cross, adds only sometimes after you finish a level or when you consent to unlock a level, better pictures, prettier style, and has levels that are easy that help bring in beginners much better while also having ones that are seriously challenging for those who know the game.

This was my absolute favorite pixel cross game on PixelCross Store for a long time, but now it’s harder to get the motivation to continue playing with its broken “watch ads for diamonds” feature. It used to be buggy, but manageable if you didn’t mind continuously clicking the button until it finally stopped saying “video not available” and decided to give you the ad, but now it’s completely broken. Clicking it will now only play you the same two ads for the same merge game, both of which won’t give you the reward after viewing it. I’ve tried interacting with it as much as possible, waiting minutes after the time was up to exit, but no matter what the game won’t give you the gems after watching it. I will give it a higher score once this problem is fixed because it’s honestly so fun, but without the extra gems from the ads the game is impossible to continue playing

My big issue is the ads. You try to watch one to get some diamonds or coins, and it says it not available. This can go on for days just to get one ad. That’s pretty ridiculous that have to wait days for 10 gems or 250 coins.
The cost of puzzles is also ridiculous. Some puzzles cost up to 35 gems. Combine that with the earlier issue and you have the recipe for a game I forget about for days at a time.
Finally, it’s very difficult for me to figure out these puzzles with logic, and I often need hints. Even then, they don’t always help. It’s not just me; I have another picture cross game that I can work out logically, and I only need one or two hints for. And even then that’s not on all puzzles.
Overall, I would suggest Nonogram for your picture cross puzzles and not this. The puzzles are free, you have daily pictures, and you don’t have to worry about restarting the whole puzzle cause you did it wrong due to the life system.

I understand the need for ads to make the game “free” to play. However, to double your rewards you watch an ad, sometimes when you finished you’re forced into an ad before you watch an ad to double, then to claim a prize you earned...yet another ad. You can easily have packages that are affordable and WORTH buying when you consider gem cost for each level. Picture cross does an amazing job. You copied them...try copying their other features. I don’t want to spend half my game time watching ads and then have to pay an exorbitant amount of real $ to pay for gems on top of that.

It’s clear in development that the monetization component took precedent over the actual gameplay. Ads pop up frequently. In some cases, the game never comes back up. Every once in a while a black screen shows up in between game screens and never goes away. I have to force quit and reload the game. The kicker? A functioning ad bar remains at the bottom of the screen the entire time. I appreciate the need to monetize, but the ads seem to be the only thing that doesn’t occasionally break.

Also needs an undo feature as playing a phone can get clumsy at times.

Is anyone else having problems with getting the video to double daily rewards? I’ve been getting “video not ready” for several days. I have even waited several minutes and tried but same thing & my internet connection is great. I was going to report to support but it goes to an insecure website which I won’t use.
My normal rating is 4 stars - I love the game & play at least 1 puzzle a day (sometimes 10 or more) and would give it 5 if the print was a little bigger (old eyes) but being it is not working quite right, I’m at a 2

It’s a fun game, I love this style of game and the auto fill when you complete a line is nice. But the ads between puzzles don’t always allow you the option to skip after 5-10 seconds like most ads in most games do (like at least one previous review complains of and developer response states this bug was fixed, when clearly is wasn’t because it happens to me every time I play), and some ads, even when you watch til the end, don’t show an option to close the ad at all so you have to close out the game to reset. Also, the 8 daily ads for gems to be able to unlock games have not been working recently. It will say video unavailable. So I’m forced to watch ads in their entirety that I don’t want to watch but the ads I want to watch for gems don’t work. Please fix and the rating will be much higher.

I find a lot of these puzzles are forcing me to use the help. That’s fine, I’ve got plenty of coins to do so but.....that just shows these were just tossed together with no effort whatsoever put in make a puzzle that can actually be done, start to finish, using logic only. When a puzzle is full of all just 1s and low numbers so you can’t even logically find a starting point, then that’s not a good sign. A good thought out layout would be difficult but at least make it possible to complete without use of hints.

I want to like this game, I really do - but you’ve committed at least two cardinal sins of free-to-play gaming. First, there’s the slow pace of “energy” regeneration compared with the amount of energy needed to play a single puzzle - coupled with the low amount of maximum energy earned while not playing, forcing you to watch ads just to play more than one or two puzzles. Second, and most heinously, is when you pop up a screen saying “Watch this ad for 100 coins” and then when you click “Continue” it STILL plays an ad that can only be skipped after a few seconds. Sometimes it happens before you get a choice, sometimes after, but this kind of thing makes me want to delete it immediately.

I wanted to like this game so much, because I love Picross on the Nintendo handheld systems. However there are some glaring issues with this game. First, it doesn't even tell you what image you've created after completed the puzzle. It just flashes the squares in rand colors. Second, way too many ads. There is an ad after each puzzle. That's way too often when you can finish a puzzle in less than a minute. Third issue is you can only do a few puzzles until you need "jewels" to pay to unlock them. The problem is you quickly run out of jewels and have to either pay ridiculous amounts of realmonry to get more, or wait each day to get enough jewels to only do one or maybe two puzzles. With 400 puzzles in the first world alone, it's going to take months to be able to do them all.

I’ve been waiting for this game to come out for over a month. I love these types of puzzles! The concept of the game would have anyone hooked, but it’s very buggy. When I click on the chest icon, the game crashes. The ads are also annoyingly frequent.

You spend jewels to move on from puzzle to puzzle and while I understand this is done to not be able to breeze through the game, I feel it’s unnecessary. Each “main level” has hundreds of puzzles. Some cost your entire jewel balance - leaving you to wait 3 mins per jewel to refill.

This could be such an amazing game once these bugs are smoothed out. I was excited to have a quest based game like this.

A few things are a bit off.
As other people have said (having) to watch an Ad after every game is too much. Especially when the easy puzzles take no- time-at-all to complete.

I’ve noticed that some of the puzzles completed don’t match up to the colored picture after you finish that puzzle.
I completed an easy puzzle and the finished blocks didn’t match the picture shown that said it was a cupcake that I made.

I also tried to claim the ?% completed for the Happy Family, however I tried to watch an Ad as it requires to get the rewards, but the Ad didn’t even load, and PixelCross crashed. I tried it a few times and got the same end result.

Conclusion- What would be nice is if PixelCross could have color coded puzzles like other apps have.
. Ads that don’t play every single time after a puzzle is completed. (at least every other puzzle)
. Completed puzzles that match the colored picture showing what you did.
. Fix the Ads that crash PixelCross

When I first got PixelCross, I was impressed by it having the best interface, allowing me to mark a line of boxes as easily as the Picross on my Switch. I became even more impressed when I discovered that after every game it would force an ad on me, then ask if I wanted to watch an ad to get a prize for finishing the game.

Ok, I’ll pay for a thing of jewels. Here’s the thing though: the per-game cost is completely unfathomable. Here’s a medium 15x15 I have to spend 23 jewels on. Here’s a medium 12x12 for 30 jewels. Here’s a medium 15x15 for 10 jewels.

But that’s okay. You can get 50 jewels a day watching ads. Then you can claim your daily bonus for 40 jewels if you watch an ad. Then you’re prompted to watch an ad when you finish a game for a bonus. Solve enough puzzles and you can get a prize! If you watch an ad.

I’m going to clear out my jewels then play something that makes me feel like less dirty, like that Hunie POP rip-off.

Like many other reviewers have said, I consider this game a rip-off of Picture Cross, but as someone who has nearly completed the entire Picture Cross app I appreciate PixelCross’s existence. Honestly I have no problem with the gem system. It’s much more lucrative than some other apps I’ve played so I’m not upset about that. However, I will say that I’ve completed over 1500 puzzles on Picture Cross alone without ever needing a column solver, yet I run into puzzles quite frequently on PixelCross that I believe are not solvable without the use of hints. There’s a difference between being hard and being impossible without hints.

I don’t like the amount of ads but that’s pretty much the standard with freemium games now so I can’t blame them.

The controls however are a bit too sensitive. I regularly accidentally tap the column/row header and inadvertently pay coins to complete that line for me. That’s bad. And I wish I could disable that or at least get confirmation. After doing that one too many times I gave up on the game. I enjoy this style of puzzle but the sensitivity of the tapping is too high in my eyes. I’ve played other pic cross games where this wasn’t an issue.

Lately I’ve been not being able to watch adds to double my daily awards to to get more diamonds. So you guys get money for us watching adds but it just pops
Just the black works saying loading... but nothing loads no matter how many times I click it or restart the game it’s been doing this for over 3 days now and I would like to be able to watch adds for more diamonds. I know this might be a strange review because people usually hate adds but you know when you’re watching to get stuff and you can’t it’s kinda upsetting and irritating.

I became addicted to this game recently and have spent many hours of my time playing this game. I don’t mind the annoying ads popping up since I can do other things while it plays, but recently an issue for me has arise and is that when ever I tried to get on it shows the game icon but then I receive a black screen and it crashes. I’ve tried to reinstall it and discovered all my progress is gone but I don’t mind that since I play it to just to pass the time but I still get the black screen and crashed app. Is there anyways to help this because I’ve been going on other apps similar to this and it’s not as fun as this one. I’d like to play again but for now I guess I’ll stop since I really can’t play because of this issue.

I love PixelCross but it’s starting to be really buggy. I’ll try to open PixelCross and it’ll show the loading screen for 2 seconds and then close PixelCross . I’ve tried turning my phone on and off and that didn’t work. I tried deleting PixelCross but it only worked for 2 minutes and then when I left PixelCross and came back it did the same thing.

UPDATE: the developer promptly replied which has NEVER happened to me so that was greatly appreciated. Their newest update has now fixed my issue and I’ve gone back to playing the game.
