Thank you so much for making this amazing app. Everything about it is amazing and very very helpful. We will be using it daily. Especially on our excursions into the forests. This is by far the very best app of its type. My daughter uses it in her real estate business. Are use it for hunting and camping and backpacking thank you again for making this amazing app that could even save lives I believe. I am telling all my friends and they are download it like crazy. Very much appreciate it

This being the first time I’m downloading and opening Outly I’m immediately struck by one thing. The map show camera icons along with the name of what I presume is the feature to see, or worthy of seeing hence the camera icon. Seems reasonable to assume then that there’s a photo of that feature: there isn’t. Not a killer thing; but odd. I’d expect to find a photo of the feature named. I’ll see how it goes with actual use.
As well; in settings, under the wildlife segment; when asked to input a state; there are only a few predominantly western US states listed. My state isn’t one of them so can’t use the wildlife feature.

Excellent map database which details precise boundary lines for public lands. Road ratings (2wd vs 4wd) is also very helpful. I am a full time rver and I use Outly to find new dispersed camping sites. I would like it better if it could search by gps coordinates. Also, if it could somehow interface with google earth that would be amazing. Great App! A must have for anyone who explores public lands.

I’ve searched high and low for apps/maps to explore back roads for planning Jeep rides and for on the trail. This is hands down the best. The cartography is excellent and the topo lines and 2wd/4wd trails show up at most zoom levels. The fact it works offline too is incredible. And, it is FREE.

I used Outly on my phone connected to a BadElf GPS for fall 2019 deer hunting, Outly is pretty straight forward and has nice features for saving maps for offline use, and integrated seamlessly to an external GPS receiver on Bluetooth. For my purposes already knowing the area I was hunting it was nice for property line reference, and will be very helpful on future hunts!

This worked well for my backpacking trip.
The only problem I found was that when creating a dispersed campsite I had to mark 2/4WD access. My campsites were backcountry site were there was no road access, they were only accessible by foot trails.
It would be an added benefit that you could mark it not accessible by vehicle.

Comparing this to onX as seen in their advertising, they are missing two this I would like. A search function, to find roads, mountains, landmarks etc. and they are missing individual property owner info. The mapping appears good and the extra features like cell coverage, terrain coloring, and wildlife locations are awesome! I will compare the two when I go hunting this year and see what happens.

Outly is super easy to use, and brings powerful information (cell phone coverage...by carrier!) to help plan your next outdoor adventure. It’s not super flashy, because they focused on what is needed and what works. So for so good! Well done.

I saw Outly advertised on Instagram and downloaded it for a future camping trip. It’s really simple and nice. But the one thing I’d suggest to make it better would be a tutorial of how to see the different lands and other features offered from this app. Other than that it’s a great app!

I live in UT and Outly has helped me with everything from finding places where to camp to scouting for hunting. The features that is has are great I simply love it and you will too forget Xhunt and download this app

I love all of the features on the website map. Outly has the key features to access maps and a couple of layers off-grid. Looking forward to more layers in Outly !

It has some good information. They advertised it as being about as good as OnX so I expected the ability to mark points, measure distances, and property ownership information. It’s basically just normal mapping software. It’s very good at what it does do but the ad promised a lot more. For $30 a year I’m sticking with OnX.

Great app other than it should have a search bar to find locations like maps.

Not only is this app free but offers lots of great features for backcountry exploring! Even being able to see where you will and won’t have cell coverage! Great app!

My husband and I love to travel and spend a lot of time camping out of our minivan. Outly helps me plan trips and is full of useful information.

We disperse camped a lot this summer. Not only did we find new camping spots but also found hiking trails near by and water for paddle boarding and fishing.

Outly is awesome! Helps me out a lot and is extremely accurate.

When is the next version coming out with the unit and migration built in??

I have been using this map for scouting on an upcoming hunt, and it has been really useful for locating different units and game density.

Curious when the water features are coming to Outly ?

I always check a app like this by comparing what they say about a campground to local knowledge. There are several campsites in the middle of the Anza Borrego Desert in CA that show the same pictures of people on a a lake, green grass, trees..????

If you don’t have the correct pictures, leave it blank!

I’ve had Outly for a couple of weeks now and have downloaded some maps for offline use for the Boundary Waters, and it’s been real easy to use with several useful features. I know you probably like your logo a lot, but I was hoping that soon I’d be able to mark a waypoint like base camp with a tent, boat ramp with a boat ramp, fishing spot with a rod and fish, drinking water source with a water icon, a parking lot with...etc.. you get the idea. I was wondering if there are plans to increase the variety of waypoint icons?

Great addition to the web app. I can’t believe this is free.

The map is great..accurate. The user interface is clunky at best. Hopefully they spend some time with a designer.

First I tried downloading maps for offline use. Perhaps I had too many in the queue (about 7), but the downloading froze and would not resume even after closing app. I had to delete Outly and reinstall. This time I downloaded one map at a time successfully. However, the next day all the maps I laboriously downloaded were gone and Outly claims I have not downloaded any maps. Please fix as Outly has the potential to become my new favorite and go-to for backcountry exploration. Thanks

Update with version 1.1: Hi, after a week my downloaded maps were no longer saved for offline use. Do you automatically delete the data after a certain amount of time? Or perhaps they get deleted with a new version of Outly is installed? Thanks

It isn't too complicated but you have to use it correctly. I plan my trips on the web interface at home and then sync to my app. Once I get back into data coverage, it uploads to my profile.

Easy, easy

I have a Gaia premium subscription and use it for overlanding and for scouting 4x4 trails and camp spots. Outly is a great competitor. I like how the filters are arranged and how different elements and icons can be shown/hidden. A few kinks, but I think I will give Outly a shot on my next trip!

It puts you in a sign in screen right away. There is no option to sign up for a new account. Doesn’t make any sense, you are required to sign in yet can’t sign up.
I assume you have to go to website and sign up for account, that’s more hassle than I want to go thru to check out unknown app.

Figure out a way to let me test drive right from Outly and I’ll give it another try!

I love the web based app, I use it to explore hikes, dispersed camp grounds, scope out and map routes. The native app works great, and I’m looking forward to the new features they keep adding!

I read the reviews where everyone said you were taken to a sign-in screen with no way to create an account. I thought I’d give it a shot, and they are right - there is no way to access Outly directly from Outly interface. Super-weak user experience and I can’t believe Apple let this in Outly Sore... #instadelete

I just downloaded this for the first time. It says “welcome back” “please sign in to your pro account”. And a place for me to log in... nothing else. No sign up, no way to get out of the screen. I don’t have a pro account. I’ve never downloaded Outly before but I guess I won’t be using it now since I can’t even get into it.

Requires login to use. Just give me the map.

Look, I get that your offering is probably desktop based, but I expect most mapping apps to be mobile first these days. Yours is not, and I can’t even get into Outly without setting up a paid subscription on the web.
