Incredible, even with minor flaws
Love this app— beautiful interface, logical design, handy features, and great recipes. Haven’t tried the yoga yet but love the combo of veggie forward and yoga in one place. ONLY feedback is: sometimes the recipe list is missing an ingredient which later shows up in the directions. Has happened twice now. Not a huge deal but tricky because when it says “add the coriander” but the ingredients list doesn’t has any coriander, you don’t know how much (or if you’re me, you didn’t buy it). All in all, a lovely app! Developers: if you read this, the recipes missing ingredients are the cleanse green soup and the roasted chickpea and cauliflower 😉
For one, what is the paid subscription... only 99 cents but still, there was no indication when downloading the app. Then you do the month free trial and actually are able to see the app and it’s all over the place. You can tell this is someone’s passion project because they clearly didn’t hire a designer. The user experience is horrible and the how to get around the app page is wordy and confusing. The user experience and user interface of this app create something that is hard to use, hard to read because of the unnecessary details in the background, and makes you want to go back to google (which is free) immediately. Invest the monthly subscription back into the app and do yourself some good and hire a ux/ui designer.
Yoga no longer works after yearly subscription
I’ve been in touch with the DE team regarding this and have had some replies with suggestions to make the yoga videos work again, but replies have been slow and nothing has worked so far. It worked fine before I signed up for the yearly subscription and now they just have a loading spinning circle on all the videos and will not play. I’ve tried being in Wi-Fi and not, tried deleting and reinstalling to no avail. Very disappointing as the yoga was one of the main reasons I subscribed to the app in the first place
LOVE, love, LOVE!!
I’m not sure I’ve ever bothered to write a review for an app yet, but I absolutely adore Deliciously Ella. I’ve told so many friends about it. Ella and Matthew host WONDERFUL podcasts that I find myself sharing regularly, which really give insight into self-care and yummy food. Can’t recommend it highly enough. The app is a joy to use, I even began using it as my main shopping list — mostly because it’s not just very functional, but pretty, and helps make eating healthy food exciting and fresh. Thanks, guys! x
The aesthetic‘s on this app are beyond amazing. It’s so beautiful. That’s really important to me, if I’m using an app I don’t want it to be ugly, cumbersome and confusing. It’s very easy to navigate, and there’s always so many new cool things to try. You can save Recipes 🌱 as your favorites so they are easy to find. There’s also yoga classes, Podcasts, articles and shop. It’s only $.99 a month..and very worth it.✨✨
Fresh recipes and positive ideas
My favorite. I love that I can find delicious, easy to make plant-based recipes, yoga to stretch with while traveling and positive ideas and views through their podcast (the best). The content is updated frequently so there are lots of new things to find. The care and thought put into the app is wonderful and you can sense their enthusiasm for eating and living well.
A few improvements needed
Love having healthy recipes at my fingertips. I like the grouping of the items on the shopping list, but I would like to be able to choose to see the entire list together without clicking on each group. Would be great to be able to search recipes by ingredient. For example in this weeks veg box I have a turnip and I would like to search by the word turnip and get a list of recipes that would allow me to use this vegetable. It would be great to be able to use the yoga offline. My gym doesn't have WiFi so I can only do the yoga sequences at home and it would be great to be able to download for offline use at the gym. Thanks for the app. Loving the recipes and it's value to my healthy eating journey.
Will be amazing after ironing out details
I really love the idea of this app and the concept of incorporating yoga with the healthy recipes. I was a bit hesitant about paying for an app monthly but decided to give it a go with the free week. I had a craving for spring rolls and the fresh summer rolls looked amazing! I added the ingredients to my shopping list, but found out that all of the ingredients needed weren’t listed on the ingredients page and therefore didn’t get transferred to my shopping list. On of the big draws for me was getting my meal planning done in one spot with the shopping list all set to go. This seems like a problem with quite a few recipes so I’ll cancel after the free week and check back in after a few months. I have high hopes for this app!
Love Recipes Dislike layout
I love the recipes and have followed her on Instagram for years. However, I dislike the way the recipes are laid out here. It’s cumbersome to have to go to a different tab for the ingredients and then again for the directions. Life is busy. I don’t have time for extra steps. When I see something that looks good I want it all in one place.
Great app, beautiful recipes.
Love the brand, people behind it and app!! Some improvement opportunities: 1. Horizontal mode (for iPad use) 2. Podcast side (adding a skip/ rewind 20second button). This will improve the podcast listening experience.
App of the day???? NOPE, Sorry!!! App of about two minutes.🙄 That’s what it took for me to dump this. This app sounded great. I installed, and was excited to poke about and see if it would be something I’d use. Immediately, you are trapped into a “free” trial for seven days. This includes automatic subscription if you fail to cancel, so be aware of THAT!! You cannot even get past the first screen to check this thing out without subbing. I hate playing that game. Developers: Let potential customers check it out, even if it’s a limited few recipes, or SOMETHING. You lost a possible sale as I just don’t play those subscribemeandtrytogetoutofitlater games!!! I removed this app straightaway. It’s too bad.
Might be good, but...
This app might be good, but I can’t tell because you can’t use it without an account, and it doesn’t let you create an account. I guess you have to do that on a website somewhere. Which means I’ll have to do a search for the website because the app doesn’t tell you where that might be either. Strange.
Everything in one!
Such a great app! All delicious recipes and I love that there’s yoga vids for everything - from waking up in the morning to wiggling out the day after work. Thanks Ella and Matt!
Really disappointed in this new subscription based app.
I paid years ago for access to this app and have used it off and on for access to Ella’s amazing recipes. I am very disappointed to see that now this app is a weekly subscription and my prior purchase is invalid.
The fastest uninstall ever!!
Wow where to start, the app opens and you’re greeted with an autoplay that plays sound even if your phone is on mute! Additionally, you’re only presented with options to give them money and no ability to explore what’s offered first. Terrible for users, terrible for customers. Some of the worst UX I’ve experienced on an iOS app.

The app doesn’t work in landscape mode on an IPad? Is it not built as responsive?
Also, is there any sound on the videos as mine doesn’t play with sound but the fitness videos play with sound.
I am using Apple iPad Pro 11 inch.
