From a gigging vocalist/sound guy!

As a working musician, I need my gear to perform every time. MixingStation is fantastic for me as when we do smaller gigs, I prefer not to hire someone to do sound for the band. Larger shows we use MixingStation with our X-32 console and a sound man but I’m still able to make small personal adjustments on the stage to my in ears. At smaller shows, we use the X-Air 18 and run the sound ourselves. Being able to control everything from my iPhone is really the best of both worlds. I do NOT understand all the whining on here about price and in app purchases. The bottom line is, as a professional musician, we spend literally THOUSANDS of dollars on guitars, tune amps, stomp boxes, wireless mics and pa gear. The idea that $10 to have an app that CONTROLS YOUR ENTIRE LIVE SOUND is somehow not only too expensive but offensive is laughable!! If you spent $5000 on your pa but are too cheap to spend $10 on MixingStation that makes it easier for you to use and allows you to access all its features then you really need to re-examine your priorities! Thanks for all your hard work in MixingStation and please continue to create!!!

Incredible app that easily controls everything in the X-33

After the official app for the x-33 failed to connect, I tried MixingStation and it works flawlessly. After entering the ip address of the mixer, it connects immediately and all the features of the x-33 are available remotely. We like the layout better than the official app because the controls are bigger and easier to manage especially if you have larger fingers. The layout of the controls are very intuitive and after flipping through all the buttons and tabs it is quickly clear that all the features are there and easily controlled. All the level meters work giving essential feedback for proper mixing. It even has its own added features. The cost is very reasonable for the full-featured app that it is. The only negative is its power consumption using around 35% in two hours on an iPad — not a big issue when this is the only app that works, and if the official app did work, we would still choose this one. Thank you developers for all your hard work in bringing this well-developed and thought-through app to us.

This is the X32 iPhone app I always wanted.

MixingStation is great! Most other apps only allow control of bus mixes on the X32, but this offers everything the iPad app (Mix-32) offers.

I used it on a gig last night after buying the full version. Ended up putting my iPad down and using my phone to mix. Very easy interface. Touch and hold to unlock more options (instead of dragging up and down the tiny gain knobs, you can touch and hold to bring up a bigger faded style gain.) I enjoy MixingStation big time. Perfect for events where you only have <8 channels and wanna kick back and wait for the show to end.

Also, might I add, I compared the RTA and compression analyzers to the iPad app and the board, and it’s just as good. Totally worth the 7 bucks....just wish I knew about MixingStation sooner! Don’t know how many times I’ve had a full phone battery while my iPad is dying during a show.

Better than the original X32 Mix app

We use a Behringer X32 rack mount mixer at our church, so the only practical way to mix is with an iPad. I was always skeptical of using third party app to do mixing, so I always just stuck with the default app that Behringer makes for their mixer. Switching over to MixingStation was one of the best decisions Ive ever made, and I am very happy with the results. I am a huge fan of how customizable the layout is, and how intuitive it is as well, reminds me of the custom encoders on the full sized X32. One thing I would love to see is the ability to edit scribble strips in the config of each channel rather than having to do it in one main list. Long story short, spend the extra money for the premium version of MixingStation, it’s probably better than the mixing app that comes from your mixer’s manufacturer.

Connection Issues

I hardly ever write anything on here, but I felt like this time deserved some sort of recognition. I am responsible for the audio and video at my Church. MixingStation has been an absolute God-send for me. I utilize MixingStation during morning practice, the regular service, and pretty much every time I am doing anything involving my X32. Recently I was having issues with connecting to the board. With one of the recent updates, it now appears there is a troubleshooting button that has become available. I was able to troubleshoot the inability to connect, and found out that a setting was different on my iPhone. I assume it occurred when I updated the phones software. I am very thankful for this troubleshooting ability, and I absolutely LOVE MixingStation. It is worth the initial investment!!!

Best mixing app, Well worth the money

This is definitely the best mixing app (for the mixers it can control). I really like being able to use the same GUI for multiple mixers, so I don’t have to keep remembering what is on every layer of every app. The long faders are a huge improvement compared to most other apps.

I rated 4/5 since I believe the graphics could be improved on the FX layer. There are no pictures for the effect you choose, so you need to know the name of what you use if it’s not blatant...(ex: the [X-Air/X-32] 1176 is called “Ultimo” and the LA2A is called “Leisure”) I can spot both compressors from a mile away, but I had to reference the X-Air app to figure out which was which.

The best mixing app I have used

Mixing Station is indispensable. So much better than any of the manufacturer-supplied apps I’ve used. I’ve used it with Behringer X32. Midas M32, Behringer X-Air, A&H SQ, and Soundcraft Si. Live the consistency between them.

In particular, the polling mechanism it uses to talk to X32/M32 is much more efficient than X32-Mix. When i use the Behringer app I start getting the overrun errors on the console after 3 or 4 connections. I have had more than 10 Mixing Station apps connected with no errors.

The customization is also amazing. So useful. Being able to map custom buttons to midi/OSC commands means I can use some of the excellent 3rd party apps like X32 Theatre Control right from the iPad just like you can from the physical console itself.

BEST RESPONSE TIME

I’ve had MixingStation since David first developed it and just put it out there for anyone to use.I just thought it was the greatest thing that i could move the faders wherever i needed them! I remember me and a few other customers asking him to make a pro version so we can give him some money. He always took the time to listen and upgrade features. He still does this now! i sent him a bug report and it was fixed within 2 weeks! That’s crazy fast! MixingStation was great when it was first developed and know i am just blown away as to how much i can customize it!

So take the time to get know know MixingStation, you won’t regret it.

Completely Amazed

I’ve been waiting YEARS for MixingStation to come to Apple iPhone.

I run sound in a bar venue and use MixingStation daily.

MixingStation has an immense amount of work put into it. The developers did an AMAZING job creating MixingStation. Absolutely everything is customizable, from adding a tap tempo button to re-sizing the channel faders, layer buttons and whatever else you can imagine.

Create your own custom layers to suit YOUR workflow.

MixingStation works extremely well. Never had a hiccup of any kind. Having full control of an X/M32, or whichever console you use, on an IPHONE is fantastic. Add in the fact that there are so many customizable options and you can’t even debate that there’s any better options out there. MixingStation blows the manufacturer’s app out of the water in every way. I greatly enjoy the simplified user interface and lack of fancy graphic design. All that crap just bloats MixingStation and reduces performance.

I never leave reviews for apps, but I went completely out of my way to give credit where credit is due. This is WELL WORTH buying.

Great Layout and Design

You can tell that Dave is passionate about his products. He’s always looking for ways to improve it and listens to the community. My business partner used MixingStation for the first time and has over 35 years doing sound for major performers. He loved that layout and maneuverability compared to the manufacturers app. Anyone who has done live sound for a while knows that when you need to make a change, you need to get there quick. We use the Midas M32 for bigger shows and the Behringer XR18 for smaller shows and Karaoke. I like the idea of using one app and picking your model at startup. Keep up the great work Dave!!

Still lacking a little (updated)

MixingStation is pretty cool.....allowing custom layouts when working with Soundcraft Si consoles is a big plus, but you still can’t assign the tap delay function to a button. That is the one feature that would keep me from having to go back and forth to the console. Is there a reason that this cannot be implemented? Maybe something in the Soundcraft design? I would pay three times the money for MixingStation if that feature could be added.....I’m a bit bummed out
The developer contacted me and explained that the lack of tap tempo is due to a limitation to the console....upgraded to 5 stars!

Great App just one thing..

I absolutely love the customization of MixingStation. Love the lay outs I can create but there is just one thing. I found out that only one person can connect to the same mixer at one time. As soon as I exit MixingStation my FOH engineer can enter MixingStation to start mixing but then I can no longer get the mixer to show up in MixingStation to make adjustments for the bands in ears mix. Is there something I need to do I my end or is this a bug in MixingStation that I just happen to find? Anyone else with this experience? Other than that it is light years better than the soundcraft si ViSiRemote app.

Thanks, Hunter

Amazing app

I used MixingStation for the first time the other night to mix a show where I needed to put my m32r on the side of the stage and run everything remotely. I have used the native m32 app plenty of times. My biggest complaint with that app is no dedicated main LR fader always displayed. MixingStation solved that and then some. Having the ability to have a custom layout is amazing. Being able to have a dedicated main fader, custom buttons for like effects mutes, tap delays, bus mutes and still have 8 channels across a iPad mini is amazing. Hopefully we see a update that will take advantage of the new v4 software on the m32.

Good app, could use some optimizations

I just started using MixingStation because MixingStation that Soundcraft makes for the Impact series hasn’t been updated in two years.

So far I like it, but I haven’t had a chance to really get deep into it. I downloaded it, got the Pro features for the SI Impact and within a few seconds I was connected and making tweaks during a live event at my church.

Some of the UI is wonky and it’s not optimized for my iPhone 11 Pro, but it worked and I didn’t experience any issues. I’ll continue to use it and offer feedback to the developer as I get more hands on.

Keeps dropping connection

MixingStation is very well designed and well worth the price. My issue is that most of the time it won’t stay connected to my X32. It loses connection and I have to keep reconnecting during a live show. At our gig last night, I reconnected 4 times during sound check and once the show started, it was disconnected again and I had no time to keep messing with it. My in-ear mix could not be adjusted. I love MixingStation but it’s useless when it drops connection. Other band members with other apps don’t have this problem. The 3 star rating only reflects MY problem. May work fine for you.

Glitch Fix

I did a review earlier about having difficulties on my personal layout displayed not being displayed how I wanted. I don’t know what I did I just went back to layout mode and moved a few buttons went back, saved my layout, overwrite it, load my layout and it worked. I don’t know what cased it to not load but it’s FIX! 4 star cause I need to test it now to see how everything runs on a live environment. If everything runs smoothly using MixingStation on my iPhone 8+ I’ll give an updated review.

Button tapping quirky

Button taps in MixingStation are very quirky. Hard to get to the licensing screens, or even properly select which device you want to connect to. Then trying to switch things in MixingStation is difficult as well even on the larger iphone 11. Ended up buying a license for the Wing when I meant to get one for the xair because the button response is weird. Even though I very deliberately selected x Air. Ended up having to purchase a second license to fix the mistake. Knocking some stars off the the overall UI responsiveness and licensing issue.

Best mixing app

It’s the best mixing app ever seen but I still wish that they somehow will add matrixStyle to the Midas MR 18, like bus send from main to the aux, or when Changing an aux into a main left and right, should be an option of the Feder to control the aux. so I can have control over more than one main Which keeps me back from using the machine on some kind of gigs thanksI got two of the appsBought on MixingStation Store for two different accounts so far Very happy

Wonderful mixing station, but lacks multi-track recording

MixingStation is a wonderful replacement of the X Air app, with respect to live mixing, that behringer has for the XR 18. For me, X Air was laggy and slow.

MixingStation elegantly allows for a completely customizable, module-based mixer layout, that can suit whatever needs you can come up with in your imagination.

However, I have not seen any documentation or planning from the developer to allow for multi-track recording to a DAW. It seems, given the array of compatible mixers(most/all of which include multi-track recording capabilities), that this would be an assumed component of MixingStation. If you want multi-track recording on the XR18, you’ll have to stick with X Air for now.

Rating 4 stars for the lack of this necessary feature.

Mr18 listed but not available after download

I’m leaving 5 stars because this seems to work great for other models based on the reviews and I don’t want to trash it, but the Midas MR18 is listed but doesn’t give you the option when you download it. Went from super excited to disappointed. Hopefully this becomes available at some point.

Gold Standard!

MixingStation really is the gold standard of mixing apps! I've been using the official M32 app for years and only just found Mixing Station a week or two ago. It has improved every step of my workflow and I can't believe how useful it is. I highly recommend trying out the free trial and playing around with custom layouts to see if MixingStation is right for you.

Great Success

I’ve had great success with MixingStation when at times I couldn’t even get Behringers app to connect. Seldom even try theire anymore.
Easy to understand and work your way through things. Laid out nice and flows great. I get sub assignment from engineer and connect an use it mainly for self monitoring as a musician and can add and deduct what I want and need in floor monitor or in ears. Saves them time an me frustration.
