Great storyline, looking forward to more!

I was hesitant to buy this game after I read the reviews, but I’m glad I did it anyways! The storyline was sweet and addicting. The graphics were just like the Emily games. The episodes were short and I finished the entire game in 1 day, which to me is a good thing! I saw that a few people complained about the amount of social media referenced within the game, but I actually enjoyed it and think it added a unique touch to it. Made me feel like I was actually texting the characters! I liked the different settings you could play in and the overall fairytale theme, very different from their other games. My only suggestion for the makers is to change up Carl’s hiding spot (a little too predictable) and move the “Likes” bar to a different spot on the screen, there were times were it was in the way of items I needed to click on...so I couldn’t earn the diamond for a few episodes. The ending is a cliffhanger so I’m hoping there’s a Hotel Ever After 2!!!

Wanted to like this game...

There are a few reasons I didn’t purchase this game. I play my games on an iPad. First of all, the game crashes after playing every level and a half or so. The pictures sometimes aren’t all there while playing the game, particularly when filling out the guest card. Thirdly the game was boring. I understand starting off slowly so the players can learn the game, but the pace never picked up after the first 10 free levels, and Carl the mouse always popped up in the same location. The positives were the story line, I was interested in Ella and her wicked step mother (I see the correlation), the graphics were cute, and I liked the characters. I love all the Delicious Emily games and look forward to Gamehouse releasing new games like the Delicious franchise, however they rarely have proven to be up to par with Emily. I also enjoyed Amber’s Airlines, and the first two installments of Hearts Medicine, and the first Love Boat. I hope you can invest the time to create more quality games instead of games like Hotel Ever After which seem to be of a lower standard.

So much potential

I wanted so much to love this game. The storyline had so much promise to begin with and then the buildup never pays off. Random prince frog found in the hotel pipes never gets a kiss and becomes her Prince Charming? Family curse is a complete let down as it makes no sense and holds no consequence for the main character. The hotel’s guests and staff could have been cursed to stay within the hotel as is eluded to, but nope nothing interesting here either. The game play was fun and entertaining, but you don’t get to choose any upgrades to make your (how stupid is this) two star hotel goal. Who wants to create a two star hotel?! Why am I not trying to create a five star hotel over a longer course of levels instead of 2 stars over 60 levels? Did no one think any of this story line out? And how jolting is it to have a mani part of the game be about social media driven drivel? HATED the social media crap. No one wants to enter a game for a goal of “check your phone forty times a minute”.

Great story, annoying bugs

I also am having the issue of the game crashing every few levels when it tries to load an ad (even though it’s the paid version), and I have the graphics set as low as possible. Plus this always happens before the post-Level plot video so I have to restart and play basically every third level over again to see the whole story.

Finally, now I’m stuck on level 57 because in iPhone view one of the items required for the diamond challenge is stuck behind the social media bar and can’t be clicked on, so the challenge is impossible. I’m loving the story but very frustrated with the seeming lack of QA before release.

Good but needs some work

I really liked the game. I loved the plot, the social media aspect, the twists, etc. but it does seem like the game was 75% done when it was released or was not thoroughly tested. There are some upgrade still unavailable even though the game is finished, sometimes you can’t see what the npc’s are asking for because the menu boards are in the way, and a lot of times when you press on an item, the game doesn’t pick up on the fact that you’ve pressed to trigger an action which ruins that play through. I think a patch and maybe an extra two levels would help but then again, I’m not a developer.

Fix the bugs!

I bought the game, even after reading the reviews because I figured the bugs had been fixed. A good portion of Mimi games only show up as 1/2 the game and you have to guess the rest to finish it. Also, EVERY time I finish a level and the ad tries to load (even tho I’ve spent 9.99, not sure why there are ads) the game shuts down and I have to restart. I’ve always loved GH games which is why I purchased it, however you need to fix the bugs before you roll out. Guess I’ll go play a game that doesn’t crash after every level......

Is their an accidental?

I pay $10 a month for a gamehouse story subscription but when I went to play this game it wasn’t unlocked. so when I went to unlock it by paying for it (generally if a game house game hasn’t synced with my subscription when I go to pay for it it just unlocks it and doesn’t charge anything) it charged me $10 for a hotel ever after subscription... what’s the deal? I already pay ten a month to get all games free. Why did it charge me $10 for this game in subscription form? When I go to my iTunes there is a subscription to Ella’s hotel game AND game house story’s subscription. The game by itself is $10 so I’m not sure the problem. PLEASE help me understand or I’ll have to cancel both. I can’t afford 20 dollars a month on these two things.

Wanted to like it

I have played other games by this developer in the past and have enjoyed them. But after the first couple of levels the game would lock up at the end of the level and I would have to force close it to go on. Then I got to a level where the customer was asking for something I didn’t even have. When I tried clicking on support to see if I could figure it out the game locked up again and had to close it.

Great Game

Thank you for making another great game. I did enjoy the story line and it did have some engaging moments, especially seeing how some mean characters got a change of attitude at the end. I did find the game play a little easy, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying it. There were a few glitches, but I seemed to manage fine with them by exiting out of the game and restarting it. I can’t wait to see what else there is to play in the future.

Could be good

There was a time where I actually enjoyed playing Gamehouse games. Some more than others! Lately, I don’t know what’s going on. The games lock up, screens go black, and then info is lost. The games are slow.... beyond slow! I haven’t been able to get this particular games to work longer than 2 levels before it messes up! It’s frustrating and it has nothing to do with my device since I have tried several different devices and my IOS is up to date! I’m giving up on Gamehouse because nothing will change!

It's fun but...

I've always loved gamehouse games and was really excited about this one! But the popularity bar blocks a part of the screen and I couldn't see some of the dialogue happening between the step mom and staff plus couldn't even tap on one of the toys for froggy in one of the mini games. Also it sometimes lags or the screen would go blank after completing a level and I'd have to exit out the game and refresh it before going at it again

Hopefully this all gets fixed soon....

Can’t even play level 1

I click on the first level, and the game shuts down. It’s disappointing how new GameHouse games seem to be rushed for a release and have many issues.

After the update, I can now start level 2 if I hurry. With a minute of launching the game it goes to a black screen and exits the game. If I am looking at the levels and not playing them, it will exit after about a minute. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I’m using an Apple iPad 5th generation with the 12.3.1 iOS. I downloaded the latest version of this game, and I still can’t even finish the second level because it continues to go to a black screen.

Great game!

Mild spoilers ahead!

When I say this is a great game, it means something--I've been one of GameHouse's harshest critics, and I have the e-mails to them to prove it! 😂

The storyline is interesting, if a little confusing at times--the curse isn't fully explained, although by the end you get the idea that Grandpa was cheating and that caused the curse. The end also sets up the potential for a sequel.

The gameplay is just challenging enough. Yes, you CAN get all the stars and diamonds. Just keep replaying levels once you get all the upgrades.

I had no technical issues, but I was playing on an iPhone 8.

It's been a long (long) time since I've enjoyed a GameHouse game as much as I did this one.

Here's hoping they put out a sequel soon!

I highly recommend this game!

Great game! Had no issues with level 2 (or any other!)

This is a really cute little game with the same engaging storyline and characters as the early Emily games. I had no problems whatsoever with level 2 or any other level. It played smoothly with no glitches, freezes, or difficulty issues. Graphics are cute but maybe slightly fuzzy. That’s the only the thing I would work on if there’s a 2nd one.

GLITCH CENTRAL! 😤

I don’t get the inconsistencies from game to game. Love Boat 1 was fun, smooth, & a good game. Love Boat 2 was a total mess. All of the Emily games are fantastic, the Angela games are ok. Cathy’s Crafts, Chef Mary, Dr. Cares, Sally & Hearts Medicine vary from fun to fine to super fun to ok.
How is it that this game, which should be of such a higher quality that is expected from Gamehouse be so ridiculously glitchy? As in after every level the game exits & needs to be reloaded glitchy? As in 1/2 the time the mini games don’t load properly glitchy?
Please get it together, $10 is a high price for poor quality & makes this outstanding game company look shoddy.

A good game

I was able to play the entire game without any technical issues. No crashes, no missing images, etc. The storyline was engaging, and I liked how they’re dialing back the mini-games in this one. The graphics weren’t up to Gamehouse level though. The upgrade items were a little weird. As I went to play the final level, I still had items that said “Locked”, but after I finished the final level, those were gone. All in all, a fun game.

Hotel Ever After

The game seems more for a younger audience to me. I kept hoping the game would get better, but it had the same (for me) boring pace. I’m sorry... it was not worth the money I paid for the game. I expect a better quality game for almost $10. I would LOVE to see you folks show Cathy traveling Europe in the next Cathy’s Crafts? I personally don’t need new story lines. I am perfectly happy playing my favorite ones... such as: Emily, Angela, Allison, Amy, Sally, Mary Le Chef (please), and yeah... EMILY... wanna see more games of her and the family!!! I just love/adore her!!!

It’s good but really glitchy

So far I love the story and the gameplay, however it tends to be super glitchy. Many of the cutscenes will not play, my achievements will not be unlocked even if I complete the requirements, and I often have to close the game in order to keep playing. I would give this game five stars if the glitches were gone much like nearly every other gamehouse app.

My Favorite Gamehouse Game!

I was really excited about this game since I saw the concept announcement on my gamehouse app, and it has not disappointed! I love the storyline and Ella and her family is such a wonderful addition to the ones we’re familiar with like Angela, Emily, and Amber. The game is fun and it’s absolutely beautiful, it really feels like a fairytale. Games like this make me happy to pay my subscription.

Too Many Bugs

This game freezes way too often. I can barely make it through 2 rounds without it locking up to the point where I have to exit HotelEverAfter . This is really disappointing because if I actually finished the round, I end up missing the cutscene. Definitely not the level of quality we are used to from GHOS.

The application also hasn’t been updated in 2 years so I doubt they will ever fix this game.
