Cannot download mag even though I have a mail subscription
After downloading the new app I am not being prompted to log in when I try download the Sep issue. I am only being prompted to purchase it and I cannot find the option to login so that I don't have to purchase what I already paid for. Am I doing something wrong or was the app even tested before it was released? UPDATE: they fixed the app and now it’s not working again. I don’t even see the option to download new issues for customers who already have a subscription. I don’t understand why this is a continuing problem. This is ridiculous for such a well established publication.
Help with logging in
I was finally able to log in to the magazine on line. As someone stated in a previous review, I had to use a number that was different from the account number on the magazine. I found it on line when I went to customer service. I logged in with the number on the magazine. You will find another account number at the top which is only 8 numbers. Hopefully, you will find success with this process. Now if I could only get them to send my missing paper issues.
Finally Worked Read to see what i needed
Trying to help folks who have been totally frustrated with this app. After numerous back and forth emails, I’m finally able to sign in. Essence sent me an account number which appeared no where on my magazine label. It was 6 digits, not 10 (as highlighted in the sign in instruction). Try contacting them and requesting your account number. I kept at it because I love the magazine and particularly enjoy the digital version.
Can’t access my account
I have not been able to access my account and of course cannot access magazines without purchase. The option is not there to sign in. How long before this is fixed?? I only subscribed for the mobile option....
Can’t access my subscription!
Like others who have taken the time to submit a review about this app, I have 2 paid subscriptions, and can’t access the magazines! The first subscription is for the previous app that was discontinued, and the second subscription is for the new app. I’ve submitted multiple complaints about this. It’s absolutely unacceptable, unprofessional and poor customer service! Please refund me! This app does not work!!!!!
I will put a one because I cannot give a zero. I have been charged every month for my issues but I have not been able to have access to them. Currently I am unable to access the App nor my issues which will require that I take time out of my day to call Apple I-tunes because I don’t have access to my account number and I am unable to log in... so frustrating !
All my previous magazines have been deleted, and now you’re asking me to pay per magazine when I have a subscription. Refund your customers and get a better strategy on how to retain any existing subscribers, or how to acquire new customers. As one fellow subscriber mentioned, at least my O magazine is still up and running even with upgrades. Highly disappointing!!
Can not access all the magazines I paid for
I have been a subscriber since 2016 but never used my digital account until 2017 I tried this app on my iPad and after four emails to essence they still can not provide me with the correct way to access all my magazines via this app
Can you fix it?
This app has glitches. I can’t log in with my Apple ID and I lost the April issue I subscribed to. Even though I download for offline use it does not store it and I have to download it again. Even reading it online, it needs to be downloaded again. Annoying! Help!!
A freakin issue again!

Horrible updated App!
The previous app was much better. I am unable to download the monthly magazine issues it is telling me that I cannot restore my purchases, but I have an updated subscription; then it telling me I have to pay for a subscription. This is totally unacceptable I want my old app back.
I renewed my subscription after hearing all the kinks and issues had been worked out. Sadly I have not been unable to view the Jan/Feb issue and it’s already mid-January and have already been charged. I will not be renewing again.
I am not able to download the current magazine! I have contacted the app site and Essence both are blaming each other! I don’t have an account number so I am completely lost on what to do next. I am not able to get a refund either.
Horrible app update
I had to delete the updated app. I had to reinstall the first version on my iPad to access my subscription. Pitiful. I won't do the next app update.
This new app is horrible. Difficult to sign in and download issues. Too basic. Missing the latest issue. The previous app was much better.
