The Fish Master! Reviews

The concept of the game is fine. I enjoyed it a lot.....until there was no more progression. You max out in depth and then there really is no point the the game because you are literally making the same catch every single time. It just goes nowhere after you hit that point. I was surprised because I stopped playing after I maxed out the depth upgrade because it was very redundant, and recently I tried playing again and I noticed I could upgrade the depth even further but it was only a couple more times until it was maxed out again. Then it became redundant again and now I’ve stopped playing. My other issue is with the ads. I can’t stand games like this one, where you are literally enduring an ad every 30 seconds. You are asked after you finish your catch if you want to “catch X2” or just “catch” and you have to watch an ad to get the double earnings which is fine, but you have to watch one anyways if you choose to opt out of the double earnings, so at that point you might as well double your earnings because you’re going to be watching an ad anyways. I would be more satisfied if it wasn’t after every single catch. Like some games are bad but at least they give you 2-3 rounds in between ad screening. This game has more ads than almost any other game I’ve played and it truly makes the quality of the game go down. It’s more ads than gameplay and that’s a problem.

I read the reviews about the ads and thought it wouldn’t be that bad. Maybe once every 3 or 4 minutes. But no, it’s literally once every ten seconds. The moment after I drop the line for the first time fifteen seconds after downloading and opening TheFishMaster I get an ad. Two casts (each lasting about 5 secs) later I get another one. I stop for a bit to eat some chips, then the next cast I do, there’s another ad. I stop and read some more reviews on TheFishMaster Store for half a minute then come back and of course, there’s another. I literally watched four advertisements in less than three minutes.

I normally don’t mind some advertisements in my games (especially free ones) but if there was a legal limit to number of advertisements in a set timeframe, then TheFishMaster completely surpasses it. There’s advertisements to get justifiable revenue from free products and then there’s just plain stupidity. TheFishMaster exercises the latter. The only reason why I haven’t given this a one star is because the gameplay itself isn’t that bad.

Oh yeah, there also isn’t any sound. I don’t know if this is TheFishMaster or my device, but my other apps were all working fine and there wasn’t any change when I restarted my device. I also checked the game itself and there wasn’t any sound/bgm control option. Therefore I’m going to consider this part of the game and something else I am most definitely unhappy about.

One night I was playing this game and having fun and gaining money. But when I went to sleep and then woke up the next day, the graphics changed!! I liked the old ones better and the game is still fun it’s just that it changed and it doesn’t feel right. I also hate how there is a max depth because all I can do to gain more money for upgrades is add more to the number of fish. It is getting boring as time passes by. Please fix these things!! This review would have been five stars if this didn’t change.

UPDATE: I can’t get my earnings anymore. I go on the game once everyday and usually I get the money I have collected offline but today when I went on this game the tab that usually shows up to give you your earnings never came up and I was upset. I am changing my rating from 3 stars to 2 stars.

SECOND UPDATE: The graphics changed back! I change my rating back to four stars cause it is still maxed out but I can now actually collect my earnings!!

It’s a pretty good game, keeps you hooked, (pun intended), the art style is pretty nice looking, animation is bare to minimum. I’d compare it to a pointless clicker games with some low life achievements to keep you invested. The ads are pretty constant, but honestly just turn on airplane mode. I’d suggest adding some background music, most of voodoos games don’t have any so I doubt it will get some soon, also some more little things I’d like to suggest>>

-a night mode where it makes it dark and more difficult (add some challenge?)
-less is more, there is by far too many fish.
-make a counter (you’ve caught: pointless number of virtual fish)
-add some characters, maybe a point unlock system.
-throw the whole thing out the window and make it an actual fishing game, with patience, it will have many more options (bait options, fishing pole stuff, etc)
-once more- ADD SOME CHALLENGE, the game isn’t addictive because it doesn’t have any end goal or REAL achievements.
-why add depth markers if you can’t see them anyway?
-add some better animations
-a settings button, maybe if you add music? Also a better home screen in general

It gets pretty boring to keep farming cash and coming up to click on two little buttons, add a shop icon or a little thing on the side, it would make it a lot better.

Even after reading the reviews, I downloaded to check it out. There seriously are way too many ads. It’s a fun, simple game, but I recommend playing while watching tv or something so you can ignore the ads that come up roughly every 30 seconds. Voodoo, I hope you listen to your downloaders. I’m not upset you use ads; it costs money to make a product. If you’re giving it for free, you have to get paid somehow. I know it’s a business. Please at least try to find better ways to keep your players more invested while still making money. Even having more banner ads and less play disrupting ads would be better than nothing.

To players of all games like this: we should actually be talking to the ones selling ads. Game developers don’t seem to care much about their players opinions. But if we let the ones advertising in these games know we’re either ignoring their ads, or not playing the games they advertise on altogether, maybe both parties might be interested in finding a more copacetic solution to their strategy.

At first I was totally addicted to this game, and based on the time I was investing into the game, it made sense to unlock the no ads option.

That was a terrible idea

Unhindered by ads, I was racking up the money. At first, it was awesome. After some time though the game plateaued. It made more sense to drop all my money into the offline earnings than it did strength and line length since I was only making roughly 2000 or so per catch. The higher upgrades were costing tens of thousands, and I simply didn’t have the patience to painstakingly fish for it. Now I’ve already maxed out line length and I’ve lost all interest in the game since fishing practically became as efficient as offline earnings, and offline earnings made more in the long run since I can do other things while the game auto generates currency. I don’t know what they can do to fix this, especially since there’s no real reason to fish other than to max out your strength and line length.

I really liked this game upon downloading a (few) day(s)...can’t remember...ago. I saw there were a lot of ads and immediately paid to get rid of them-no big deal; however, now the game is just kinda boring. I’ve reached the end of my line at 350m which is ridiculous because I see more fish swimming at the bottom and I haven’t seen any sea turtles which is advertised. Catching the same ol fish is getting pretty boring and I wish there were levels to beat, more depth to explore, more fish/sea creatures to catch, and the ability to at least change my character to a female. This game has the foundation of a good addictive, time wasting, game, but lacks the ability to make the player stay playing for more than a few days. Please update this game, we all want to play it longer and more often! Thanks!

I would totally give this game more starts, but there are way to many adds. There is a constant add at the bottom of the screen. Then there is one after every time you catch fish no mater if you want to double your money so it is pointless to not double your money because they are going to make you watch the add either way. I would buy the add free version of the game but not for $3. You spend more time watching adds then you do playing the game. It is almost better to just have you off line profits high and just not play the game and come back and cast your line a few times to just pass a few minutes and then close TheFishMaster and do something else because you will make more money that way then playing the game due to being forced to watch the adds. I would recommend the game makers only put the adds on the double your money option. Then this game would definitely get 4 or 5 start. You should also add some customizable features to the character and boat.

The game is a horrible copy of a great game (Ridiculous Fishing) in that game fish dropping your line avoiding the fish until you hit either the bottom of your line or floor. If you touch a fish you collect the fish as you collect all of the fish. There is no limit on how many fish you can get also. Then once they’re on the top you shoot them. In the game there is also a neat Twitter app that other characters tweet on depending on your actions. You also go to a boat store to buy new lines, “lures”, guns and hats lots of em. One you catch enough species you can go to different areas and you boat changes too. These areas offer new fish. What does this game off? No music no name (yes the character had a name) no other areas. Sure I mean it had rare, shiny, etc. but so did R F well not shiny fish. No different areas nothing at all. No story. No reason for it to be on the top 10 on TheFishMaster Store go buy the much older yet better game ridiculous fishing. It’s either .99 or 1.99. Go get a better game.

it’s a great game, fun to play and good if your bored. i love it and would recommend it. the only problem is that it has way to many ads and you have to pay for them to go away. sometimes i put my phone on airplane mode and the ads won’t show up but airplane mode is not ideal because you will not receive texts, calls, you will have no wifi, bluetooth or cell data. if you are willing to put up with the adds it’s a fun game but otherwise quite a let down. also you should play the game while watching tv so that every time an ad pops up you can look at the tv. so, overall a great fun relaxing game i love it but WAY too many ads. *also it sometimes lags and that’s really annoying as well as the ads* i hope that voodoo games will fix this in the near future.

Although I love this game it needs improvement! I know a lot of people complain about the ads but I expected that for a free app. The ads can get annoying but the game makes up for it. My main problem is the max length and fish. In one of the pictures it shows turtles at about 225 length. Im at 290 and have never seen a turtle. Which brings me to the lack of fish, as you go deeper fish are less occurring and it’s mainly three types. I wish they would add more fish and creatures especially as you go deeper it would be fun to see squids, turtles, and fish! I also wish they would make the length deeper I play this game quite a bit and I wish I could go deeper than 290. Ok last I wish they added more to TheFishMaster ! I mean maybe your line could snap or the whale would kick the other fish off. Something to make it a bit more entertaining! They definitely just need to update it!

From what I have experienced, this game is allot of fun! Very easy to play and a good way to pass time. Unfortunately the depth maxes out fairly quickly and my offline money makes me so much more than when I actually play the game. If the game gets an expansion and you can do more than upgrade 3 things I will change the rating for sure. If more fish were added, maybe different maps added with new backgrounds and waters to fish, adding some hazards! Maybe make there be less sharks but the ones you do encounter try to eat fish off your hook if you get near them! Fishing rod upgrades. You could take away the “amount of fish you can catch” and add a weight limit. Say your rod could pull up 10lbs of fish and then you can upgrade your rod instead! Like I said if and hopefully when the game gets expanded upon I would gladly rate 5 stars because it is allot of fun!

i have a love hate relationship with this game. there were definitely times where i felt discouraged and bored by the same, repeated, simple concept. however, i felt like i owned the world when i got to go lower into the ocean and grab that new sea creature like a boss. anyways, it taught me that patience is a virtue. so i kept playing, My primary goal being that I could plunge deeper into the ocean and grab those new types of fish. I was sadly shocked when I found out that the deepest limit is only 350 meters! How preposterous! I wanted to see deep sea creatures like dragons or waterlions or water spiders or whatever you want, but I really wanted to see it and I was disappointed when I found out that it wasn’t there. you guys need to update the game so i can plunge deeper into the ocean, as well as my dreams. thank you

The game is genuinely fun to play but simple enough to play while needing something to multitask with. It’s nice on the eyes, and I actually found myself pretty excited to increase the depth and discover new creatures.

The ads are a problem. Aside from the obvious annoyance coming from an add after every game, it slowed down my game. Playing was difficult because I assume it was loading an ad while I was playing, and that would make everything skip around. Playing became so unenjoyable from this that in order to keep playing I had to shut off my wifi and cellular data whenever I played.

If the ads were less frequent ( not gone altogether I mean you gotta make money somehow ) and it didn’t bug out the game as much I would be rating this at 5 stars.

Overall, you have no tasks but to fish to upgrade your line length, strength and offline earnings. Some suggestions to make this game potentially more fun that it is already is to maybe add daily login rewards (1st day: $200, 2nd day: $500, 3rd day: free upgrade of your choice, etc etc). Maybe even add multiplayer minigames, like who can catch the most fish or add tasks/objectives (ex. Catch 10 clownfish in 1 turn, etc) honestly this game gets pretty boring once you’re 10-20 minutes into it. Haven’t uninstalled it yet, but may have a change of thought if they don’t make updates. I’m not even going to start with the back to back ads, since there are plenty upon plenty of reviews about the constant ads every other catch. Anyways, Voodoo better make better updates for TheFishMaster, or they’re going to lose a truckload of players. 😒

The game itself is a fun enough time waster. No new concepts here, but it’s fun to catch the different fish types and search for the shiny and rare versions.

But as many reviewers have stated, the ads are far too intrusive to be a game that I would play for too long. Many companies have a found a good balance between ads and playtime, and I don’t mind supporting their game by watching the ads. I play the game for a longer period and ipso facto I end up watching more ads over the life of the game than I do for the 20 minutes I play your game because there are ads every turn. Figure it out.

Also. The max depth, and fish variety is so shallow that even if the ad issue were fixed, there’s no actual reason to want to progress any furthers. No new fish, no new upgrades to depth? I don’t want to just catch more and more fish and earn more and more offline if there’s no further progression.

Okay so after playing on and off for about a week I maxed out the line distance and then there’s only 2 other upgrades; your offline money accumulator and your fish count per cast. There should be more added on to this game (example: different kinds of fish or different types of rods or boats or locations or atmospheres. Deeper seas, different characters, and maybe another upgrade of some sort just to keep the game entertaining for longer than the short period of time it takes to max the game out. The ads are fine I get it that’s how you make money I’d do it too. But yeah you could definitely expand on this game. 🙂👌🏻👍🏻

now look i love this game and all the most interesting part was watching how far down the fishing line went and finding new fish. the waste of time part is because i spend my time fishing for a while and collecting my money to buy more fishing line and the fishing line only goes down 350 meters. its disappointing it would be so much more fun if they did more meters down and different types of fish and if we could get more of a outcome afterwards like maybe being able to gut the fish or have a animated fish market and sell them make it something to really play for. have your avatar a little home go fishing and then when you’ve done a days work of fishing go to your market sell your fish be able to buy new products for your market buy cool new designed boats and fishing rods get employees maybe when you get to the market gut the fish for the customers do the pounds something just fun and exciting because when you get to the max 350 meters down and then the max amount of fish it just gets boring makes you want to delete TheFishMaster . i dont know just some ideas for you guys hope you guys make the changes!! i really used to love the game but voodoo games in general too many ads but addicting af!

I realize this is one of those games where you upgrade your idle cash then comeback and have millions of dollars but once you reach a certain point in the game it becomes pretty boring and honestly I don’t see what they could do to improve this game because it is a time waster game I’m fine with that but once you reach max depth it’s pretty boring anyway I would like to see more fish added and more depth also I realize you really do not care much about this game considering it is heavenly added I mean there’s really no point I mean all you have to do is turn off your data anyway just fix the game hostly I’ll probably never play it again and it probably want last long not the charts well I hope you will read this but knowing history you probably want and I just wasted 5 minutes on this.👋
