Weather: Saildrone Forecast Reviews

Saildrone Forecast is an interesting endeavor using autonomous marine vehicles to collect this app data. This allows them data that others don’t have, making this app forecasts pretty accurate, especially on the coast.

The UI is nice and has a richness that makes it nice and easy to use.

So why not 5 stars? Mainly two items. The first is that every time I open Weather it shows winds, and I cannot seem to change that. I would like either a default setting, or that it remembered what layer o had active last. The second is that when you click the “Help & FAQ” link in Weather , it takes you to a Zendesk page that says the following “Oops, this help center no longer exists
The company you're looking for is no longer using our help center. We suggest reaching out to them directly via their official website.”

To me that is very lacking in care of customers. Especially for a paying customer.

Just got my daily forecast. Fortunately I got one from a local tv station too. Weather was 20° off. I know they’re the one off because once I opened Weather it showed the same thing as the local news. I wish they were the accurate one!! They showed 75°. Local news showed 92°.

The only app I have subscribed to is this app labs 3D. If I hadn’t had Weather, this would be one very high on my consideration list. The 3D app is what I seek for it’s technical display of nexrad radar.

The problem isn’t the subscription price itself in Weather, its the compilation of all the quality apps that ask for subscription rates that probably stop users like myself from subscribing.

I do get it on the data have an ongoing cost but so do subscriptions. Does one want to rent an app and pay forever someone else or does one want to pay for an app and really have something to show for it without endless expenses.

I am Weather owner choice, no different than I own a home rather than pay someone else’s mortgage.

This is a 5 star app, I can’t imagine what it would be with the higher information provided with the subscription prices.

I really love this this app app. I’ve had it installed for over a year and keep checking it from time to time, but my primary this app app was this app Underground.

With continued updates to features and overall polish to Weather , as well as tidal current overlays for San Francisco Bay. The tidal currents is a huge bonus for any sailor - at least in the SF Bay. Currents are strong, and having a real-time visualization of current vectors is a huge value add. Hopefully they will tidal current data for other areas.

I love full time on a sailboat. Trust me, Weather is so accurate. No other apps can match the current and oceanic this app predictions. So far it’s been spot on and we have other apps that give 5-6 models all different with having to try to be ready for everything. This is my go-to app for sailing. Their Gulf Stream real-time is fantastic. A must have for sailors or anyone on the water.

So tired of those old apps... Saildrone is awesome! I am totally enjoying it. I shared a picture of Weather with friends & had someone mention that they aren’t seeing the tropical storm in the Gulf on other this app apps especially not like what Saildrone shows!
I am happy to be part of the beginnings of Weather & sharing it with friends!! Looking forward to seeing Saildrone develop & hopefully no future charges 👏

Weather Saildrone was great before they changed the way you see your this app they took away the bottom part that gave you the ability to see future this app.... wow you where better before I hope that feature they put back .... I stand corrected Weather is great the feature is there but is in a new way to access it

I really like how I can scroll a timeline as to when rain is expected, which way the wind is coming, etc. I realize that it is still subjective, but Weather has been right more times than I can remember. Not sure if I will upgrade, only because I am stingy and the free aspect of Weather gives me what I need. As the this app changes, we’ll see!

This is by far the best this app app I’ve seen in years.
It feels like it’s something Steve Jobs would get on stage with and present as a breakthrough.
I love the UI, the ability to see to the Min when rain is about to hit, the winds if sailing is your thing.
Comments: there is no need to such dense number of city and neighborhoods names on the map as you zoom in, most people care about where they are at.
Add a feature to geofence an area and get notifications for that specific area.
Rain animation as you zoom into neighborhood should improve.
Overall, Well done Saildrone team on delivering an amazing this app app!

Quick forecast info at a glance along with a detailed and immersive radar. This is something that this team gets right when so many others do not.

I kinda want some severe this app to pop up nearby just for Weather experience!

Yes, it’s a tad expensive for all the bells and whistles and it could use some alert capabilities for it to become your full time this app app, but it’s still amazing. I live on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where wind and currents play a huge role. Saildrone has the data I need and a spectacular graphic interface with 12 hour projections. Highly recommend.

I really like this this app app. But why no radar data display? That seems to be a big missing piece for a this app app.

I’m convinced 90% of the reviews are the developers reviewing their own product saw this on FB should of known from there it was crap. Like almost all Facebook app adds in order for Weather to be even half decent pay a few pay for HD reall? SCAM alert my radar already does that guess what it’s free pay money for basic info that’s easily free SCAM deleted this the second I found that out I’m just annoyed I added to their download list because I hate supporting apps like this trash

Very easy to navigate and reliable information. Would recommend especially for people who frequent outside activities.

Great app for the most part. One big issue though: I purchased HD option on my iPad, but can’t access HD features on my iPhone. When I try to access HD features on iPhone it asks me to subscribe. When I try to re-subscribe it says I have already subscribed.

Another issue: the summary screen (sailing mode) has a column for current, but no data are displayed.

Fix both of these issues and I’ll update to 5 stars!

Forecast issues. I was hoping to get a better than average forecast for the coast between SF and Monterrey, but it’s not. Yesterday for example, wrong by 180 degrees.

Subscription management: how do you unsubscribe? I subscribed to ‘uhd’ trials and want now to stop. I can’t find where to manage subscriptions... which is a UX+trust issue.

Still new to Weather! But so far I absolutely love it! Do you think it will be available for my smartphone soon? I’ve installed it on my iPad and look forward to installing it on my phone too!

I was an early user of SailTactics in San Francisco Bay. It was fantastic! Then Saildrone bought SailTactics and shut it down. They claimed their Ultra HD product would replace SailTactics.

Not even close. The wind forecasts often seriously underestimate the winds in the Central Bay. The wind at the Cityfront is not the wind at Pt Blunt is not the wind at Richmond. It’s also challenging to see how the wind changes over time. I’m a racer, and understanding predicted shifts in small increments is important.

I have used many this app apps over the years. This one gives you great details and very nice features.
I’m dropping 2 of my other this app apps now.
