I actually had relatively high hopes for Omi in the beginning. The interface is pretty clean and straight forward, but Omi has WAY too many issues to be useable. Here’s 2 examples of many:
1) Bombarding you with irrelevant notifications. For example, they will send me notifications of messages from matches, but this match hasn’t responded. They just send out old notifications. A waste of time and very frustrating.
2) Many matches are behind a paywall…I understand if you want to offer premium perks for those who pay. But what’s the point of using Omi if seemingly more than half of the matches are behind a paywall.

I never do reviews, but Omi is horrible, a while back I had joined and got banned for “violating guidelines” the same day, before I even liked or messaged anyone, I keep emailing them because I want my account officially deleted, not just banned because I’m done with Omi, but they refuse to do so, and just keep telling me I can’t be unbanned and that no one will see the account, which I do not care, because I don’t want to be unbanned, I just want the account gone. So more then likely, you also will get randomly banned, and it looked like I wasn’t the only review with this issue.

I just downloaded Omi, signed up and got banned within some few hours for no reason.

Tells me person is a match already, but can’t swipe without paying $60! only choice is swipe left to reject them. What’s the point? Dark UX patterns. For shame.

I woke up this morning after a day downloading and paying for the subscription and my account was banned for no reason at all. like how?!!!

I am trying to sign up but I’m having issues I’m putting my phone number but there’s nothing sending my number no notification, please fix

Every week my acc gets banned for no reason. I don’t even chat to anyone. I email their support asking them why & they don’t even tell me, they just remove the ban. Got to be the worst app I’ve ever used and paid for.

It becomes clear quickly that Omi is designed so users can’t chat or even match with anyone until they’re spending money.

I got banned for no reason. Omi kept saying my photos didn’t show my face but they very clearly did and I also paid for the premium subscription.

You keep getting likes to lure you into paying. None of the profiles you match to respond to your messages. Shortly after you are banned, lol typical scam.

It asks you to verify your phone number, but the text message never comes in. Without being verified, Omi doesn’t let you use it. There is no other way to create an account other than using the phone number. There is no option for using Facebook or Apple or Google.

Another app to get from you as much money as possible, and not help you to find anyone! Have few different subscriptions, buying one doesn’t give you access to all features, but instead asking you to pay more and more along the way!
I would recommend to look somewhere else

You have been warned. Many dating apps in the past have been exposed for using bot farms and having people paid to send you one message an then never respond.

You will receive a flood of matches but, they will never respond beyond the 1st message. Sometimes the “people” never respond at all.

Worse than tinder and even worse than all of the sex workers pretending to be normal girls on Badoo.

A scamming App with the same feature you would find on any other dating App. It always follow the thumb rules of making money, regular membership won't get you any functions, so they will push you to buy vip. The moment you think the available goodies should be available, guess what there is another premium. Dont fall for an app luring you to pay more, save your money and meet someone outside Omi .

I just downloaded Omi two weeks ago, and they banned me, lifted the ban, and banned me again within 24 hour (same account) I only got three matches the entire time and none of them even reply my message. I’m extremely confused but they never inform me the reason for my ban. I used my own photo and the only sent out greeting message (like “hey, how are you doing?”) and I got banned for that? Pretty ridiculous.

This is would probably be about average if you paid for it. But it is the most annoying I have encountered for the free version - they constantly show you people who like you as soon as you run out of swipes for the day, and then when you have swipes again they hide them and they’re no longer showing up. Basically it’s the most desperate attempt to get money out of users that I’ve ever seen - I would rather pay for an app that uses less shameless tactics, just on principle.

Almost unusable with how many features are restricted. At least allow the viewing of chat requests and occasional likes. Cmon guys.

may i know how long it takes for a verification under review? i thought the verification takes only few hours. my account has been stuck for under review now.

This is the best dating app I find so far to find or connect with Thai locals I highly recommend it
