I paid for the premium upgrade of SimpleSecretSantaGenerator so we it could send to 5 or more people, and it Has not worked.

On the first attempt only 2 people out of 6 people received the secret Santa gift exchange text message after I input their info and confirmed the info and hit send.

The second time around we decided to use the add yourself feature. Only one person was able to use the link successfully and add themselves.

Due to the amount of difficulties using this and we had to move on and use a competitor app, Elfster.

Please refund the money I spent purchasing the premium version of SimpleSecretSantaGenerator . This product did not deliver the service it was promised to deliver.

Highly don’t recommend at this point. Used Elfster last year without issue. My family is doing a secret Santa exchange this year and some reason chose SimpleSecretSantaGenerator to do it with. I downloaded SimpleSecretSantaGenerator after getting the invite link. I was only able to view who I had and the gifts they want through the web browser version. I sent a message to report the problem a couple weeks ago with no response. I just logged into the web browser again and now I cannot see who I have or the gifts I should be buying.

After making a list it will charge you 3.99 for using the phone number selection. No bid deal if it was worth it.... but totally not. After people verify that’s it... the download app and see nothing. It even tells me I haven’t been included in a list and I’m the one who made it! So pretty much you pay for the random selection and a group text. SimpleSecretSantaGenerator has nothing to it.

Chose this because it let me text, WhatsApp etc. rather than only using email addresses. The pairing was fine, but the UI was really confusing to participants.

I was instantly bombarded with questions from people and didn’t know how to answer as I wasn’t sure.

The wish list feature is also incredibly bad. It pulls up items that aren’t the requested gift at all. We ended up making a google doc with wish lists because we were concerned people would buy the wrong “suggested” item which had nothing to do with the typed text. The wish list also cuts off wish list item text after a number of characters so could not read the full thing. Then I could not copy-paste the wish list text from SimpleSecretSantaGenerator when trying to make my google doc.

I was sent a link to the family’s Secret Santa Party Invitation. I clicked on the link and it showed who I was supposed to be buying a gift for but when I installed the same app on my phone and created an account it didn’t have anything about the person I was supposed to be getting a gift for or the date of the Christmas Party. In fact, after I entered the correct date of this year’s party it showed the wrong date in SimpleSecretSantaGenerator . I am going to keep trying to figure it out but I thought this was supposed to be simple.

I loved SimpleSecretSantaGenerator for previous years, but it is confusing this year. We have a secret Santa between our friend group’s children. There are multiple kids from the same family and the new version makes it hard to send multiple matches to one person (1 mom = 2 kids) I hate the texting links and QR codes. The old version that texted the match was so much easier. It’s so hard remembering which link was for which kid.

I was using it for a few weeks and then the last few days SimpleSecretSantaGenerator stopped working on the iPhone. The main page is just frozen and I cannot select any lists, cannot creat new lists, etc. Is this due to recent app updates? Downloaded SimpleSecretSantaGenerator on the iPad and it works fine. Restarted phone, deleted and re-downloaded SimpleSecretSantaGenerator , no luck.

Used SimpleSecretSantaGenerator the past 3 years for secret Santa. The update for this year has made this infinitely more frustrating. Why get rid of sending the text out in one batch? Now you have to add everyone in then send them individually a message. All very time consuming for the organizer. Also it would seem intuitive to be able to reuse your prior list, but unfortunately this is not an option.

Idea is great and it’s easy to use but with lots of bugs. When texting everyone, about half didn’t get the text. The link to verify doesn’t work for some. I had to resend it as an email.

Plus I can’t simply see who all has what so I can text my family back when it doesn’t work.

Not worth $2.99. More like $.99.

Having to send to emails after using mobile numbers with some users I am having to resend a few times before they receive it. Some still have not received an email or a text message with their person. If they never receive their person how am I supposed to continue?

I want to start off by saying my family has done secret santa since 2019 when a lot of my cousins and I were off to college. I downloaded SimpleSecretSantaGenerator back then and paid for the premium features which allowed SimpleSecretSantaGenerator to send the text messages revealing their person without any problem. However, this year it was super frustrating because after using this for 3 other Christmas seasons I was unpleasantly surprised to see that you have to manually send each text to the person. I am in charge of this, and it was very frustrating to see the link of who everyone got. I didn’t click on them but it was annoying to ensure every person got their own link. In the past SimpleSecretSantaGenerator sent these messages, why did this feature change after I paid for it and used it for 3 other years? I want to continue using SimpleSecretSantaGenerator next year because it has serviced us for now 4 secret santa’s but I don’t think i’ll use it next year if it doesn’t offer this key unique feature i required.

Hi. I purchased the premium and I would like to know if there is a way to avoid getting my husband who is on the same list. I am doing this with my cousins and many of them are siblings therefore, elfster gives option but if your company has this it would be amazingly convenient. Phone numbers and ability to avoid who gets who. Please tell me that you have this feature? It’s the only reason I purchased. If not, I would like a refund.

This is definitely one of the best I've used in a while.. As an organizer of many groups I needed this.... I wasn't even mad when they snuck that 2.99 in on me..... But I feel some type of way that you actually charged me 3.99....

Hello, I just have a question. I used this for a family secret santa. Deleted it shorty after everyone confirmed only to find out that father in law didn’t get a name because I didn’t have the right number. Is there a way to retrieve who got who?

Really simple and easy app btw! I loved it! Just wish there is a way to have that info.

This is the 4th year our family is using this ap for 2 Secret Santas for the adults and kids and it has worked quite. This year I reviewed and tested at least 5 other aps and found this one had the most features, less ads, and was easiest to use. You won’t be disappointed!

I wish they would have it so you can move a whole list to the next year instead of redoing it again 😢

I like SimpleSecretSantaGenerator so far. I just need to know if the person that created the list has to be the one to press “Send” and that’s how everybody finds out that’s who they got or does each participant hit “Send” themselves after they create their “Wishlist” to find out who they got?

Nice app! I do have one question, if I wrote the wrong number and I later edited that number and resent, will that person with the correct number get the same person who was sent to the mistaken number? I want to make sure that everyone got different people even after I fixed the number and resent.

It’s a great app to do secret Santa with your family when you can’t all gather. Just put in the names and phone numbers and sent out the text message of who your Secret Santa is. Worth paying the $2.99 for full access!
