Disappointed!!!

When I first got LEGOSetScanner I adored it BUT!!!! I don’t know when it happened because it didn’t used to do this but now there is a limit of 12 “Free” scans for lego blind box’s then it doesn’t allow you to scan any more and attempts to make you pay a monthly fee of $24 a month for more scans!??!??!!!!! This is of course outrageous to be forced to pay to scan a box… let that sink in….. no I’ve deleted LEGOSetScanner from my phone and will never use it again there are better and actually free apps to use on LEGOSetScanner Store that do this!!!!! You should not have to pay to scan a little box!!! No I’m very disappointed in LEGOSetScanner and if I could give less than one star I would!!!! This is a blatant scam and a disgrace to what LEGOSetScanner used to be!!!!

Why did they do this?

Earlier versions were buggy but it worked and it was a useful app. They just completely overhauled LEGOSetScanner with an entirely new look and interface and it rendered LEGOSetScanner virtually useless. The search function is broken. The only way I’ve been able to find old sets is by filtering for the year the set was made then scrolling through every set until I find it. Then the photo for the set you want also includes photos for all kinds of random unrelated things. Worst of all, collections were completely wiped out so you have to either build your collection up again from scratch or go through some other party’s website where you have your collection saved to create a file that you then upload into Bricksearch. I haven’t tried that yet so I can’t say whether or not it works. I don’t see the point. I’ll just continue to use the other party’s collection features because their website actually works. What were they thinking when they made this change??

So bummed!

I was really happy when I found LEGOSetScanner a few years ago when I was moving. It wasn’t perfect, but I really needed a way to keep an inventory of my collection since most of it was going into storage. I liked that I could access this while I was at a store and I liked the wishlist feature. I opened up LEGOSetScanner yesterday and was so bummed to find that my entire collection that I had painstakingly entered was gone. I had some notes too like what I paid for sets, their original MSRP, and if I had multiples. I don’t think there is a way to log in, so I don’t see any way to restore my collection. I didn’t keep a list on another service and maybe that is my fault, but I didn’t have time or see a point in trying to keep it up to date in multiple places. Things happen and most of my collection is still in storage, so I can only guess at what I have. I am going to have to try and recreate my inventory, but I doubt if I will be using LEGOSetScanner since I can’t rely on it saving my collection.

Garbage Developer

This was a fantastic app. Providing a way for collectors to find the minifigs they wanted after Lego changed to the cardboard boxes. That being said, the change to a subscription just so that we can scan the codes is complete garbage. You gave us a way to respectfully enjoy the hunt for these figures and now we are back to damaging property just to see what’s inside. What makes you think we would rather pay for a subscription just so that we can get the figures we want, when it’s cheaper to just buy a bunch and resell the ones we don’t want? This is just stupid.

Hard to navigate and doesn’t show all sets

I found out about this from the Brick Fanatics article. I am a Lego Friends collector, but it didn’t show all the sets for each year. For example, when I selected 2016, only about 20 sets show up. I waited for a about a solid minute to see if it was just loading or something but nope. I couldn’t find a second page I could go to for the rest either.

Also it has a category titled “Retired Sets”. That is incorrect, it should be “Retired Themes” because when I pressed on it, it was all retired themes, not sets.

Over all it feels unfriendly to navigate. I can’t put my finger on the reason, but the interface just wasn’t easy to use.

I gave it two stars, because it has so much potential. Clear images of sets that are hard to find any pictures of was something I found quite impressive. Also the idea and execution of many parts are great, could just use some significant improvement.

It needs world war 2

I don’t know why but when I downloaded this LEGO app I thought there would’ve been a great selection of LEGO world war 2 builds or even mini figures and I was greatly disappointed with the results. Please make a world war selection or put however many world war builds that the education section can take but PLEASE I am a BIG fan of world war 1, 2 and Korea and Vietnam war so please put at least world war 2 in LEGOSetScanner I would love it if that happened

Incredible Potential

So I don’t know anything about web design. However I will say that the filtering and searching is severely flawed. A lot of the time the search won’t come up and says it failed but then when you go to years and sift through them you can find some of the sets that didn’t show up. The way the themes are sorted is confusing and doesn’t even work when you try. So finding some stuff is very difficult. The other thing is that some exclusive sets like Comicon Sets and figures are not featured for all themes. So adding them to a wishlist or collection is impossible. Hopefully they will add all of Lego’s content. But moving on from the negative to the positive. I used to use an app called brick by brick which had pretty much the same purpose. While LEGOSetScanner design was much simpler and easy to use it was boring. LEGOSetScanner is far more stylized and even allows you to use links to buy the particular set your looking at. LEGOSetScanner of properly updated and functioning as intended has the potential to be a far better app than brick by brick. I plan to stick with it for now and hope it grows in the given year.

Can’t find instruction booklet #

For starters I’d like to say this is a great app I can easily look up any particular theme and even reference the assembly instructions although on at least one set I am unable to find instruction booklet number 3 on the Hogwarts Castle set so when I press three on the menu of instruction booklet numbers I bring up #2 again I’m thinking 🤔 that needs to be organized!! That’s the only thing I find wrong with LEGOSetScanner . I love everything else about the Brick Search app!! 👌Thank you👌

I Love(ed) this App

Look, LEGOSetScanner was/is the only one of its kind and it's absolutely fantastic in that alone. Although, recently, every attempt I've made to search a set or check the ones I've saved there is a "check internet connection" error that won't allow anything to load. I know my connection is not only functioning and reliable, but it is the same connection I once used when LEGOSetScanner worked without error before.
I hope this gets fixed soon!!!
Otherwise, 5/5 stars.
I'm not aware of a way to contact the developer, as the feedback option sends me to a Twitter page with the most recent post dating back from 2018.
Regardless, I don't use Twitter so that option of communication also isn't great for users.
Please fix soon!

Best Lego app, just a little behind

This is easily the best of its kind. I found probably all my old sets from childhood thanks to LEGOSetScanner and its amazing to look back at a portfolio of the 90s - 00s. Having said that, it look like we haven't gotten a single set added since last year. I'm thinking it's no longer being maintained or updated which is a shame because there's nothing else like it. A lot of the pics suddenly disappeared or got jumbled as well so you can't get multiple shots of sets anymore sadly. I wish it were still being worked on because it's both useful and fun.

Can you please fix this?

So, I love LEGOSetScanner, I really do. But it would be very helpful if you could put the price for each LEGO set. Because then I will know which ones to ask people to get me for my birthday without asking for really really expensive ones that my family can’t get. It would also be helpful when I want to save my own money for a set. So, if you did that I would really truly be thankful.

What happened???

This used to be the greatest Lego inventory app on the planet, after the last update LEGOSetScanner turned into crap and no one is seems to be fixing it? Now LEGOSetScanner doesn’t find sets by number, only words, if it finds it at all? It no longer displays all the sets in a category, it displays multiple copies of sets and it can’t load pictures, and every set in its database says it has zero mini figs? LEGOSetScanner is no longer usable, it has become quite pathetic and very aggravating! So until the developer decides to care about their creation and fixes the obviously broken app then their is no reason to waste your time with LEGOSetScanner????? Please restore LEGOSetScanner to its former glory so people with huge collections can manage them…..

Great app just one problem

So far it’s great except when scanning codes for series 25 it doesn’t want to scan most of the time because it’s too far away and if you get closer my iPhone 14 camera gets too blurry for it I would like a zoom feature for snaking to be introduced so we can get clearer scans other than that it works great

Awesome app! Needs 1 feature!

I love LEGOSetScanner! Its an amazing way to keep track of what I have, and mark things off my set wishlist. I think LEGOSetScanner would improve greatly if you could divide your sets up into different folders. So instead of having my Marvel and Star Wars lego sets jumbled together in my collection tab, I can go to different folders and have them separated. Do you see what I'm saying? It would be awesome if the folders could also be named! I so hope that you take this feature into consideration and I would love to see it in the future!

Used to be good, turned into trash

There was once a point when you could scan all of the minifigure boxes you wanted, knowing what character is inside, and not having to spend a penny, now they have a limit, 12 scans, and you have to pay up, it doesn’t even refresh, 12 scans, and unless you’re going to pay for the subscription, you’re never going to even touch LEGOSetScanner again, this rating is 5 stars so people will see it, but it deserves 1 star, if you want a hassle free minifigure blind box scanner, get the Minifig Scan app

Excellent app!

I use it daily, and love everything about it. Although, lately LEGOSetScanner glitches for me and has not been working. Hopefully it gets fixed because I love LEGOSetScanner .
LEGOSetScanner keeps saying that there’s an error and that I have to check my connection to the internet even when I have a great connection. At first, I though it’s go away, but it’s been doing that for a while now. I checked to see if there was an update, and noticed that it was already updated. LEGOSetScanner is now not pulling up any more than a few sets. I look at the Star Wars tab, and it shows 5 sets out of 776 or however many there are. Please, if you can fix this glitch, I would greatly appreciate it. Other than the glitch, I love LEGOSetScanner and can’t wait when it’s fixed so I can continue to use it

Great App

Love LEGOSetScanner!
Is there a way to sort by Lego catalog number (you already have that number listed)? That would be extremely useful. Also, could you add a sortable user field? We store our thousands of Lego kits in numbered bins and it would be extremely useful to be able to sort by that number so as to see what kits are in each bin. Putting the bin number in notes is obviously not sortable and not very useful for our needs. Thanks for considering & keep up the great work!

AMAZING APP

This is a great app!! It’s extremely simple and easy to use. However, one thing I’ve been noticing lately is that certain sets don’t show up when I search for the exact set number. Specifically sets from the Vidiyo theme. I even went to filter and clicked on Vidiyo, and it said no results, even when I hadn’t typed anything into the search bar. Other than that, it’s a really good app!

There is something confusing.

Firstly, this is a GREAT, very informative app, and I think that it is the best way I could possibly look up LEGO sets.

But there is a slight problem, sometimes, it says that there are more sets in a category then there actually is. If you could help me understand. Secondly, I think there should be a section where you could see all the sets.

Thank You!

Cool

I am glad to see what you can do with LEGOSetScanner. You can know how many Minfigures and pieces are in each set. You can search for sets, add cool sets to your collection, and look at instructions for each set.
There are only 3 things missing. LEGOSetScanner is missing retail prices, new sets, and old sets. I really like LEGOSetScanner . I hav no complaints.
