Dr. Panda - Learn & Play Reviews

Dr. Panda is a very special app! Watching my niece and nephew playing this game, I really felt as though they were on a special journey of interactivity and fun. DrPanda encourages children to learn, but almost subconsciously. The activities give the illlusion that it's all about having fun, but at the heart of DrPanda you can really see that it's all about children learning about the world in a way that they'll understand. I should point out that DrPanda is obviously designed for young kids, but how nice it is to see an app that actively engages kids of a very young age in a somewhat mature way that has them identifying shapes, colors, words or even more sophisticated ideas such as counting, days of the week and so on. Not a time wasting app, it's an asset on your device. 

Our family have always been very big fans of Dr. Panda, and so perhaps this review will be a little biased because we only have very good things to say, and always do. Dr. Panda Learn and Play is unchartered territory for Dr. Panda, it's a completely new type of app but oh boy haven't they done well! As DrPanda says, your kids really will feel as though Dr. Panda is opening the door to his home and they've been specially invited inside to join him for a new adventure. As a parent, my favorite part are the educational storybooks where there's so much for kids to learn and take from. Whether they choose to just listen or read along, it's a beautiful idea and I can't praise it enough. Moreover the games and activities are just fantastic!!

Hands on heart I was very surpsied by how much the developers have been able to include into DrPanda Dr. Panda. And if the new content they promise to add is as good as what's already in there, then I believe DrPanda is going to be very popular. There's alot for kids to do, they can learn about numbers, letters, shapes, pronunciation all through books, games, cartoons and other activities. It's definitely best suited for young children, as DrPanda description says probably for preschool ages children, but even 5 and 6 year olds have a lot to gain from DrPanda.

DrPanda is really great, there's so many fun little activities to play, the auto books with Toto are amazing and not too complicated, it's really perfectly designed for preschoolers. If you're looking for an app for your little ones that are going to inspire them to think for themselves, then DrPanda is a great contender.

Love the content for my autistic son, but I’ve been prompted on two different occasions to subscribe. I did for him, thinking it odd that I was prompted a second time. Still so much content that is locked that I thought I messed up. Unfortunately not. Getting charged for a monthly AND annual subscription. And still need to buy access to other games?! Canceled BOTH and not throwing away any more money. Tried reaching someone, but no luck. Therefore this review.

After being mildly annoyed that the application uses “dark patterns” to entice children to ask their parent to unlock freemium parts of DrPanda , I reluctantly paid for an annual subscription (~$50).

Now when my child attempts to access newly unlocked modules, DrPanda crashes upon launching those modules.

to further exacerbate the issue: Their in-app support page is entirely in Mandarin and only includes a QRCode. No submission page. No email address. Nothing.

Dear developers please don’t make the games cost money what’s the point of enjoying the game if you can’t even play half the game for free

DrPanda does not tell you the cost in its description and that feels manipulative. If you do pay the $30, you find this is confusing and overwhelming for kids in the stated age range. Tested DrPanda for ten minutes and refused a refund. It is a frustrating app from description to subscription

Have they been removed??

My 4yo daughter was playing with DrPanda this morning and they started talking about the coronavirus and showing scary real-life footage (not cartoon characters) of medical professionals in a chaotic hospital setting wearing masks etc. DrPanda said “most importantly - TRUST CHINA!” I could not believe what I was hearing and seeing. Goes without saying this is completely inappropriate!!
