Highway Weather Reviews

I used to use HighwayWeather for planning road trips. However, now it's completely useless because with the most recent update all I get is a black screen after touching "Drive now" and/or "Plan ahead." Instead of making improvements which make big changes, it would be much wiser to fix bugs and add minor changes. Always remember: "if it works, DON'T fix it!"

Edited Monday 1009 March 2020. I replied to developer with screenshots yesterday, Sunday afternoon. Just installed update an EVERYTHING IS WORKING AS IT WAS prior to previous update. Developer FIXED IN LESS THAN 20 HOURS! OUTSTANDING! Thank you very much for your quick response to the issue about "centering" were the "x" was not on the screen on my iPad Pro and iPad Mini. I changed my rating from 1 to 5 stars.

I travel alot. I have many travel apps on my iPhone to use. My niece and daughter told me about this one. I downloaded it and LOVED it. I wrote the developer about a suggestion I had and he immediately went to work on it!! To my surprise he listened and implemented them within a day or 2. He actually paid attention to the feedback . Wish other developers were as engaged as he was. Thank you for that. Now instead of 5 essential apps I use, this cuts it down to 3.❤️❤️❤️👍

I was traveling from Port Townsend WA to Illinois in February. I needed something to watch the weather over the passes. It did ok. HighwayWeather glitched while going over one pass at the beginning of our trip so I just didn’t use it at that time. I tried to use the drive now function multiple times after paying the $1.99 monthly fee. Only worked once. I tried to check my route multiple times and it kept starting from my origin point rather than my location or where I typed in. Kinda over HighwayWeather at this point.

This is one of my favorite travel apps. I’m a solo RVer, and HighwayWeather helps me know weather conditions, the best time to leave, and what the wind and precipitation will look like along each step of my journey. I’ve actually changed my route or left early because I know what the weather will be like along my way. Thanks for creating such a travel friendly app!

Hands down a killer app for planning road-trips. The UI is a bit wonky since there are so many variables at play (steps in your drive, time options for leaving)…but play around with it a bit. Living in NC and driving back to Ohio means I have to drive through WV mountains. HighwayWeather helps me determine the best times to leave based on the weather

I used HighwayWeather to plan our departure date when we decided to drive cross country instead of fly during the pandemic. Probably the best free app I have ever used. It helps to really think about your trip and add way points with realistic pause times. I adjusted my route along the way and the weather was always spot-on.

Man oh man do I love HighwayWeather not overly complicated and simple to use. I am a long haul trucker and HighwayWeather has saved me especially during the winter going up and down mountains on the west. I would only add one thing and maybe for HighwayWeather to follow you through each city and state so that I don’t lose track of where on the map I am at. But other than that 10/10

We have been a motorcyclist for 35+ years and travel about 18K per year on two wheels. I have said to friends I have been waiting for HighwayWeather my whole riding career. Nothing in weather prediction is perfect but HighwayWeather gives excellent predictions and makes my road travel easier and SAFER! I highly recommend the product!

This is a must-have app for anybody who travels on the road. Whenever I go on roadtrips, I use HighwayWeather to make sure I will safely get there and conveniently have the weather I want on my journey.
HighwayWeather looks a little beta, but I think it’s really all you need. So much potential in HighwayWeather. But no other app is like HighwayWeather.

The plan ahead and drive now buttons don’t appear sometimes on the page . But other than that it’s the best drive app out there . I own a trucking company and we have used Highway weather consistently for years . I find it to be extremely accurate. Thanks

I really appreciate HighwayWeather as a frequent roadtripper and regular all-weather truck camper. Helps me navigate and choose routes wisely across time and space, when to go, when to stay, and easily allows smart decision-making with detailed info along routes. Thanks!

We’re new to the RV world with our first Class B camper (Airstream Interstate) and commute 1,300 miles between homes.
Wind and winter weather are easy to avoid with HighwayWeather. You can plan ahead a week in advance to see hour by hour road conditions. Requires a subscription but it’s money well spent!

Again, HighwayWeather is a work of art and truly helps with planning trips. Thanks for finally adding the no ads purchase option. I can now search weather on different routes without getting irritated at full screen ads. 10/10 would support in the future for more groundbreaking features.

When traveling, especially when pulling a travel trailer. We need to be able to see if there are high winds and what those wind gusts will be. We have often changed our leave time based on weather along the route. This is a great app.

Must have especially when traveling long distances during possible bad weather months. Traveled from Michigan to Florida and back during the winter months. With HighwayWeather I was able to determine the best times to travel and avoid bad weather and roads. Great app!!

After trying several similar apps, this one is the best! It will suggest the best time to leave and tells the weather of Locations along your route when you will actually be there. Highly recommend!

I'm leaving for Florida in a couple of days, so I put in my destination, and asked for route guidance. It showed me a bunch of towns it's routing me through, none of which I'd ever heard of. None of the major cities I'm actually going to drive thru were in their route. I zoomed in on their map, and saw they were routing me on local roads, not on interstate highways. I tried to edit their stupid route, but it can't be edited, you have to take it or leave it. I left it in HighwayWeather cemetery, to rest in peace alongside all the other useless apps I've deleted. HighwayWeather is so helpful, indicating the best time to leave and where the weather may be more severe. Works perfect for our long road trips to visit family. Even better, customer service is amazing. After an update I had a problem and I emailed. I got an immediate response with the fix!

It’s easy set speed count 11 hours then set start time 10 hours ahead for next days or days. Only thing is it locks up when I was paying for it. Kept wanting me to repurchase all the time

I left a one star review earlier when HighwayWeather wouldn't orientate correctly on my old iPad. The developer contacted me and asked for me details to the problem and immediately made an update to HighwayWeather . I was unable to remove the "No Good" review so please ignore it. Great app.

My new car has ApplePlay. Unfortunately HighwayWeather isn’t compatible with ApplePlay. Will you be creating a version that is? It would be great to be able to switch between Waze and your app.

We travel full time in our RV, and HighwayWeather has kept us from heading out on the road when it was nice where we were but horrible down the road. Very helpful.

If you are traveling it is imperative you have HighwayWeather really can save you of being on icy roads and away of trouble

I found HighwayWeather to be helpful and accurate. I travel slit and always go to HighwayWeather to see the weather ahead. Comforting.

Used it for a late winter cross-country trip and found it very helpful and easy to use. It helped me make some route decisions.

Wish I had this sooner... and glad I have it for all future traveling I do.

This worked great the first day. But then it stopped working the second day. It just brings up a white screen with an ad at the bottom. Maybe it needs to be updated for ios 12. I would even pay for this one.

Motorcycle trip from DC to Dallas. Departed June 27. HighwayWeather showed no rain on I-40 through TN. Encountered late thunderstorm going into Nashville 27 June and again next morning. On return no rain forecast starting 4 July. 5 July got hammered by late afternoon thunderstorm that almost blew me off the road. Storm Radar app and clearly developing storms gave me time to prepare. HighwayWeather not so much.

Accurate and really helpful for ones who plan a road trip.
