Unlimited hints 😡😡😡

Seems like a lot of people are not very happy since you got rid of the unlimited hints, me included! Your puzzle clues are so vague you have to get one word to understand where the puzzle is going, fo example, today’s clue is a finch, a fox and a gosling walk into a bar, really I have no clue. I am forced to skip many puzzles or use all my hints and stop playing. I have played this game for years and have enjoyed it but soon I will stop playing, I refuse to pay for hints. I play another game where you can earn hints by watching extra ads, I would keep playing if this was an option. Please add back the unlimited hints or lose a customer!

Needs Work

I've been playing 7 Little Words for years and wanted to give TinyLittleCrosswords a try. I was disappointed almost immediately. Some puzzles are too easy, some are too hard, and not enough are just right. For the ones that are too hard, it's because the theme is too vague. Sometimes they fill in a letter to get you started, but when they didn't, I found myself using the hint feature several times. When I got to the puzzle "Things that are red" and saw nothing but empty squares, I uninstalled. Will stick with 7 Little Words.

Not as good as other games

Being a big fan of 7 Little Words and Monkey Wrench (I play every day), I was very disappointed with this game. I understand you want word games to be challenging but these puzzles are almost too difficult. I find I have to use the hint button on almost every single puzzle as the clues do not really help. Also, there is no letter shuffle option or free daily puzzle option like the others, so once you play the free games you have to pay (there is also no option to watch an add for a free puzzle). Hope this game gets improved to be more enjoyable because I love Blue Ox games!!

Has potential

The game play is alright. The bite- sized puzzle are perfect for the mobile platform. But three words per puzzle is little too small. (especially if you’re asking $1 for just 50)
I usually prefer minimalist design but this puzzle is too minimal. The design is boring. Especially compared to your other games which are bursting with personality.
I appreciate the easy to read/ select tiles and the clever word play.
Spice up design a bit and you’ve got great game.
ps. Could you add a ‘nighttime’ mode.

Fun but flawed

I’m a big fan of the 7 Little Words game. I play the daily puzzles and have purchased additional packs through that game. With Tiny Little Crossword, there is no daily puzzle. There’s also no shuffle feature for the letters. I found myself using the hint button more often than I would have liked to. I wish there was an option to simply click on a letter and then click on the spot I want it to be in instead of dragging. I enjoyed the first puzzle pack but I don’t feel like the other puzzles are worth purchasing. I’ll happily buy more 7LW packs in the future.

Fun & Challenging

I like TinyLittleCrosswords; it plays like a crossword puzzle where you choose combinations of letters to fill in the correct word from the clues given. And most of them time I don’t even mind the ads, considering it’s a free game. However, they have started running ads for gun sales, which seems terribly inappropriate for this medium, as it’s available for anyone at any age. It’s very disappointing considering the number of innocent people being murdered every day, and I’m playing this to try to get mind off the bad news. There are plenty of other companies that will pay to run ads on your app.

PLEASE add new puzzle packs

Its a great little game. I appreciate the free daily puzzle. I know people are angry they took away free hints but paying for them was worth it - no ads! - and I don’t have a problem with the developers charging (though they should consider giving a couple free hints with each free daily puzzle). The problem is I also bought unlimited access, and I’ve completed all the available puzzles. The game itself - design, ease of use, cleverness, challenge - deserves 5 stars. But I’m giving 4 because the developer doesn’t add new packs. Come on, Blue Ox!

Good update

EDIT: Blue Ox added free daily puzzles, so my concerns below have been addressed. Upped my rating from 3 to 4 stars.

I’ve enjoyed the other Blue Ox titles: Red Herring, 7 Little Words and Monkey Wrench. They’re not particularly challenging but their daily free puzzles are a nice 5-minute distraction. Tiny Little Crosswords has 56 free puzzles to start. These were quite fun, and some even had above-average difficulty.

After those however, a $0.99 in-app purchase is required for each of several sets of 50 more puzzles. I guess the “1 free puzzle daily” is no longer the model they wish to support. That’s fine I suppose, but I finished the free content in a short time and have no intention of buying any packs, so I guess I might as well delete. I’d probably watch a video ad to get a free puzzle (an addition they’ve made to other apps), but that option isn’t available here.

Just a bit of a disappointment after my enjoyment of previous Blue Ox games.

Long, loud ads

The game itself is fine, but many of the ads in between have very loud, annoying sound even if you have the sound off on the game, and last far too long. I found it is faster to close TinyLittleCrosswords and then re-open to avoid the ads.

Lousy customer service.

I had to restore my iPad and lost my hint stash. They never responded to me. I had about 300 hints on my other iPad and they just disappeared. They want you to buy hints, but they apparently have no accounting system to keep track and fix issues. Why would I buy something that could disappear and I lose the money I spent on it?

Great game for word lovers

This is a great game if you like words. Rhyming, multiple definitions, categories, etc play a role in solving the puzzles. Often the biggest challenge is figuring out which of those things the clues have in common. There are plenty of hints available when you need them. My only wish is for more puzzle packs — I’m on the last one and may go through withdrawal if I only have one puzzle a day available.

Fun game!

I’m truly enjoying this little crossword game! I’m wondering if the hints are unlimited, or at some point will I have to purchase them? I didn’t read anything about this. Also, it would be nice to be able to shuffle the letters. Otherwise, a great way to relax and exercise your brain cells!

Once again, I’d like to add that it would be helpful to be able to shuffle the letters. Also, I’m not a fan of dragging letters. Perhaps you could allow a word, whether across or down, to be highlighted once the player chooses it, and then allow the player to tap a letter to automatically populate a space. Dragging letters is a ‘drag’! Otherwise, a clever little game. And thanks for adding the daily free puzzle!

Needs more puzzle packs

It’s a fun game and I like that it has a free daily puzzle but it needs more puzzle packs. I’ve played and re-played them all so many times that it’s no longer any challenge. I guess I should be glad because I was a bit addicted to it but still, a new pack once in a while would be nice.

As of May 2019, there hasn’t been a new puzzle pack in almost a year! But the daily puzzles are good. It’s how I start my day.

Who would think...

Okay, I have been playing this game for several years now and because the daily theme might be too obscure I would resort to the free hints, which I had many. But when the designers removed the free hints I figured I would be playing the game less. Instead, I now look forward to it each day to challenge my mind as to what the heck the cryptic means, then figure out what the words are. This often means I need to resort to other sites to get clues (I've long since have used up my free clues), but that just adds to the challenge. Makes me realize I'm more of a sleuth than I thought.

Love this game!

I have just added TinyLittleCrosswords to my puzzle folder. Every day I do 6 different puzzle apps before going to sleep. I usually just do the free daily puzzle but now that I’ve added tiny little crosswords I find myself hanging out here a lot more. Challenging but fun. Always try to do it without a clue but if I need one it usually just gets me rolling. I just realized that most of my puzzle apps are Blue Ox. Guess I’ve found my favorite puzzle designers! Thanks for keeping my brain active.

Tiny Crosswords

Game is kind of a combination of crossword and Jumble, usually 3 to 4 words, but there’s a clever theme to each puzzle, sometimes not apparent until AFTER you solve the puzzle. Solutions are usually fairly easy so makes for a short relaxing activity, though sometimes a “hint” is needed. And yeah when you run out of those hints you have to purchase more, but it’s inexpensive and worth it for this fun game. Kind of addicting. Recommended.

More please

I love this game (and Red Herring as well) and would love more chapters please!! I personally love it when I have to figure out what the theme of the puzzle is, especially when it’s not so obvious. They are mini crosswords after all so it’s nice to have a challenge within the mini game!

PS Left a prior review as the last release had spelling errors etc. Once developers were notified they were corrected very quickly so wanted to thank developers & submit a better review.

Almost like a tiny little penpal.

I have to say, this is one of the best tiny little games on TinyLittleCrosswords Store. The sense of humor is absolutely charming. The puzzles are genuinely clever, and I feel like I’ve met someone I really like at the other end of solving them. There are a lot of good things about them, including that they are so easy to pick up and put down again, and that the command of English on the part of the puzzle maker’s is excellent. But the best thing is really the character that shows through. Great game, well done!

Was Good - Revised Review - AWESOME GAME

Even though they prefer you to buy your packs they used to give you one free puzzle a day, now however every time you try to open the daily puzzle TinyLittleCrosswords crashes. It will of course let you purchase more packs but it will no longer load the daily puzzles, even after updating TinyLittleCrosswords .
I really did like Blue Ox offerings but this is definitely not on that list anymore.

Obviously I was upset but they fixed the issue and I'm back in love with this game and Blue Ox - call me fickle but that's my opinion. Give it a try and I think you'll agree....

Love this game!

Thank you for adding daily free games. This is a great, enjoyable game to play. Since some of the games are titled “all the words begin with the letter ...”, is it possible to add the function that when we are trying out the letters, once we get the right letter in the right square that it could be highlighted, like or does when we use the hint feature. Thank you for that hint feature, otherwise I might get old and gray figuring out the words!!!
