Impractical UEX

The content seems good, but hard to get to. Navigating ACloudGuru is not intuitive and, frankly, just impractical. Same thing with the web. Could not easily keep track of the path content/progress.
Streaming quality (from Midwest US) just horrible. Even after tuning off my VPN, verifying my download speed is far above the recommended speed.
I think they have better material for AWS training, but the UI/navigation still needs serious work. To the point where I’m contemplating just jump starting my Pluralsight subscription, even though I got a yearly with A Cloud Guru.
A lower experience than Linux Academy

There are a couple of issues that bug me about this final product after moving from Linux Academy. The dashboard doesn’t give you easy access to the material you care about most. Linux Academy had all the recent courses I was working on in the dashboard. ACG shows the 2 classes of the courses that were worked on. The browse is even less useful. The good thing is that the content is now combined and that is a good thing. I hope that remains its strength because ACloudGuru isn’t.
Recently the landscape mode no longer works. Maybe iPadOS 15 provides this feature inspite of ACloudGuru .
In short, content is good, the cloud playground is a good addition but ACloudGuru is lacking.
Content is great but the app 🤷♂️

The content for passing exams purposes is truly great. You will get a better understanding of the technologies and principles of using in the real world.
However, ACloudGuru 😩, ok to be fair it is just the loading of the videos listing that is slow sometimes/most times but once again n the videos play well and auto plays the next video great.
Please just fix the scrolling through videos listing then 5 stars ⭐️
Great learning content, lacking user experience (UX)

First of all, I believe A Cloud Guru offers some pretty awesome courses, with great instructors. The learning platform is great.
However, the mobile app needs some TLC as far as UX goes.
Search: I couldn’t find a search feature in ACloudGuru . Feels like I have to browse through lots of content.
Course continuation: When I go to a course to continue where I left off, I have to scroll down to the video I need, which could be way down the list as I progress through a course; there should be a way to easily continue where I left off. The dashboard offers this kind of feature, but only for the last viewed content (makes sense here).
Submitting Feedback: Another big issue I have with ACloudGuru is that I could not use the “send feedback” feature in the settings section. I kept tapping and tapping with no response from the UI other that a highlight of the cell when I tap. How do users send feedback?
I would have rather left feedback in ACloudGuru vice writing a review in ACloudGuru Store.
I am on really good internet connection both at home and at workplace but about 40% of the time I find issues with both app and website. App loads fine at first, then I click on course and that’s it, I can’t click on anything after that. I tried killing ACloudGuru but that doesn’t help. Same with website, it keeps showing progress bar but nothing loads up for minutes. Not sure what’s the cause. Sometimes it just works great.
Content great, mobile app can use some work

Love the content this app offers, but mobile app can use some improvements. It would be awesome if you could add a search feature on the mobile app instead of simply browse. It makes it really hard to find specific content or courses on mobile device. Sometimes I need to hop around and educate myself on specific topics quickly. While it’s nice the mobile app shows you featured content or content you guys think might be applicable, a search function would make it even more usable!
Great study aid

Per a recommended suggestion in the large world of online learning, a friend recommended a cloud guru. I can honestly say, I’m glad I spent the money. The online labs, simplified explanations and engaging upbeat professors make things enjoyable to learn. If you’re willing to put the work in and have an optimistic outlook then this is exactly what you need.
My only gripe is the price point (I have to drop a star for that). I wish it were a bit cheaper for those of us that don’t have corporate supplemented funds. Please make this a bit cheaper for accessibility to students college and high school a like on a fixed budget or craft a smaller free version for younger users without jobs.
Great Product! But...

ACloudGuru is easy to use and I love the way content is organized and presented. I’m working my way through Azure training for career advancement. The content authors are knowledgeable and explain concepts clearly and in a well-paced, digestible format. I have just one criticism, however. I use an iPad to view the videos and to take notes. ACloudGuru doesn’t have the picture-in-picture capability to allow for simultaneous watching and note taking without using two devices. I commute to work by train, so using a single device maximizes my productivity while I travel. Having this feature would raise my rating to 5/5 stars.
Need a sort option on courses
2023-02-10
by Affan1
Apparently I am one of those who starts many courses concurrently. It is difficult to find a course started recently. Sometimes it is way down the list and finding it is a pain. There should be a sort option to see courses started recently. Other sort options could include percent completed, unfinished courses etc.
I really like the convenience of using the A Cloud Guru app on my iPad. Though Safari in iPadOS does serve a the desktop experience I’d much rather use this. Since the in app feedback button does not appear to function I would like to see learning tracks within ACloudGuru . You can browse by topic and view your current courses but I’d like to see learning paths as well. This would be helpful to stay focused and organized.
Great content & Excellent UI/UX

First, I will review A Cloud Guru as an educational service. I am a big fan of a cloud guru to start with. The content is top-notch, well presented, and constantly updated. Content creators obviously put tons of resources into keeping the courses current which is very important for a sector like cloud computing, with its rapidly emerging services and changes up features/functionality.
As for ACloudGuru , it has a very robust feature set with a modern intuitive and predictable UI. Content is available to download for offline use which is a big plus. My only criticism is the inability to search and sign up for new courses directly in ACloudGuru . You have to do that on the website. I assume this is an Apple-imposed restriction due to policies regarding access to subscription based content purchased outside of ACloudGuru Store or in-app transactions.

ACloudGuru is awesome. It what makes it awesome is the team. I got a chance to meet members of the team from multiple countries and sections of the company. They included instructors, founders, sales, customer support, products and others. Throughout all, the same resonated. They are all genuinely interested in customers and their needs. The only thing that would have topped it is getting a T Shirt. Ha! It was great! Thanks Gurus. Keep it up!
Really improved

Update 5: While I did cancel my subscription ACloudGuru has gotten so much better recently. Audio comes through phone like Netflix, doesn't ask me to sign in every time I use it. Video downloads work much better. Really good job on improving ACloudGuru . Couldn't be happier.
Update 4: 3 to 1 star. Videos won't play. I'm cancelling my subscription. This is ridiculous.
Update 3: from 1 star to 3. uninstalled and installed again and it seems to work. Pushing the"download all" button broke it again. Then had to uninstall and reinstall again. If you avoid the download all button is a good app.
Update 2: From 2 to 1 star. Won't get past the initial loading screen.
Update: From 4 to 2 stars. it's slow AF to load anything. I'm convinced the download video portion is fake because of how slow everything is to load.
Love ACloudGuru . Will give five stars when the audio comes through the iPhone music player like Netflix or Udemy so I can listen when phone is locked.
Great!

I am new the tech industry. Cloud Guru provides great learning tools for me to learn about the cloud and other aspects. I enjoy the videos, labs, and video break when the instructor provides realistic examples of the subject matter. It has kept my attention unlike any other learning platform has before which I am excited to learn.
Works beautifully 99% of the time but I believe I found a bug. I tried to download courses but it told me that I only had 3 GB left and was unable to. I knew I had plenty of space so I checked and found that I had 30GB left. The program might be only using the first digit it sees to confirm or deny downloads. Please fix this soon.
Solid training for AWS for beginners and Pros

by Hoppybrewer
My AWS knowledge was a bit dated - haven’t worked hands on since 2014. A Cloud Guru turned out to be a great way to quickly update my knowledge gaps without wasting a bunch of time. Dense, quality content... playback speed controls make it easy to pace the content and replay key areas. Only wish the platform was better at remembering current spot across devices— easily fixed by looking for the green checkmarks.
Great App, Excellent MOOCs!

A Cloud Guru is incredible. I split my training between them and one other reputable cloud and Linux based training and MOOC site. These guys are very informative and very personable. Their explain like I’m 5 approach is educational without being offensive when you’re way older than five but still need talked down to in a very non-condescending fatherly way. They’re great. Excellent. Brilliant instructors. Don’t let your dreams be dreams. Join premium, take all the courses, take all the certification exams, make all the money. Just do it.
Powerful content

I am focusing on content and not minor glitches. I bought this service to learn cloud, especially AWS. What really matters to me is engaging training that respect my time. If you’re like me, you have limited time and juggle multiple priorities. Sure there are some glitches, program abruptly stopped responding and stopped for no apparent reasons. But to me these inconveniences are minor trade offs for up-to-date information and focus on your goal. I also thoroughly enjoyed starter course AWS Certification Exam Preparation guide. Best investment I made all year.
Still great after 2.5 months

I’ve been using ACloudGuru over 11 weeks and it’s been great. I can download the video to my iPhone to watch in areas where I don’t have service. I’ve been studying for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Exam and a cloud guru has great videos and memorable tips to retain information.
One feature I noticed is that the progress from watching a downloaded app isn’t updated to reflect on the web platform so even though I have hours of watched videos I need to play them on my PC browser for the course completion % to reflect this.
Good place to learn all things Cloud. Merging of Linux Academy and ACL has make things even better, more courses to compare and choose from. Mobile app is handy to finish most of your learning when ever you get few mins to spare.
What you miss is Labs though. I know you cant attend the lab on phone but atleast the video of it should be made available on mobile app..
It’s in the details that count. Not recommended

The apple app along with the google play app are borderline unusable and unresponsive. Over all the layout is nice. But the functionality and responsiveness are subpar.
Anytime I minimize ACloudGuru and go to another app or Home Screen and then go back to ACloudGuru the lecture that I was watching starts over.
Next the video player controls have a good deal of latency. When you try to pause/play, use the slider, etc it is almost the worst I’ve used. Very unresponsive.
Next when you try to turn the device from landscape to portrait or vice versa it doesn’t do as you would expect. In addition when in landscape and you try to exit the current lecture it takes you back to the course contents and flips the screen to portrait.
These little failures and oversight of details are making me reconsider my subscription.
I really appreciate being able to download lessons

I’m very much an auditory learner and I like repeating lessons on audio when doing long boring physical tasks like stacking firewood, weeding the garden, long drives alone etc. being able to add new courses, track progress and more has been great. And the downloads actually WORK unlike another service I tried using for lessons.
Amazing learning experience

I totally love this course because it’s amazing how easily they can explain it to you, specially if you’re not from an IT background and it’s easier for you to understand the concepts and technology about this course as well as hands on lab that I feel is just enough to teach you and apply those concepts a lot more quicker
