Very cool idea and works well. Generally I would try to avoid using material design on iOS as it disrupts the natural flow and cohesion between apps. Also I would have it so the search bar wasn't part of the scrollable view since it is floating and gets cutoff by an invisible block when you try to scroll up. Settings page seems a bit overkill for just the one setting - maybe just have a segmented control or keep the switch and put it on the main search page. For the actual weather pages I would incorporate the pull down refresh, but I think that's just another piece of material design vs iOS design. Great color scheme and layout though - really visually pleasing.

Elegantly solves the problem of figuring out what temps will be at the top of a hike/climb or getting forecasts in the backcountry. Gives weather including a 5 day forecast at a peak's elevation and two lower elevations. It also breaks down the data by morning, afternoon, and night to help you plan timing. Metric or imperial units are options in the settings, and every mountain I've searched has popped up right away. An advertisement is shown briefly after selecting a location while the data is being fetched. Thanks for MountainWeather !

I was very thrilled about MountainWeather because I always have to open my browser and go to mountain - forecast. Com and although it’s not much of a process I always thought there should be an app that did this. I especially wanted to be able to check up on the weather without being connected to WiFi. MountainWeather unfortunately couldn’t even locate a mountain near me let alone give me the weather for them. Even when I manually entered the mountains, it was never able to provide me with the summit weather. Great idea but definitely really needs some work.

Great app. I am located in southern Nevada and most of the mountains can be located on this map. I am not able to locate Mount Charleston so hopefully this will be added in an update. MountainWeather is easy to use and I really like the climbing “fun facts” that are provided when a page is loading.

I live in an area surrounded by several smaller mountains and they aren’t listed on MountainWeather , which is understandable since only so many can be listed, but one of them is Mt Monadnock, which is said to be one of the most hiked mountains in the world. I also tried getting information for a couple of peaks in the White Mountains of NH but after close to a minute the info still hadn’t loaded.

MountainWeather may be awesome in other places, but for the southern region of the Appalachians, it isn’t very good at all... I live in Waynesville, NC. Granted there aren’t any 14,000 ft mtns around here, but they are tall enough to screw with the local weather crew... was hoping to have found a reliable “mountain” weather app.... my search continues...

I live by Mt Rainier, less than 30 miles away and it doesn’t pop up on the Mountains Near me section.
When I finally loaded it... the search feature isn’t friendly... the weather wasn’t even there. It does list good info about the mountain but no weather. Very disappointing.
I’m sure it will get better going forward but for now... 1 ⭐️

Thanks for your work developing MountainWeather works well and provides critical info for planning hikes AND its free which is becoming more rare these days

I was gonna go on a nice stroll up Everest but I figured I should check MountainWeather first. Apparently it's cold up there. Might've died. 5 stars

This looks like it’s put together well and has great information but the weather is missing and the developer’s website is down. If you wait long enough you can view information on the mountain.

I’m having the same problem. It displays a little info about the mountain but I can’t find any weather. Odd, given the name. And odd there’s no reply to the August review. I wish it worked.
