Bought these lights at Walmart. Installed them and even followed instructions. Alpena LED app never found my control module. Lights would flash/cycle uncontrollably. Went back to Walmart to buy a second control module and swapped it thinking it was faulty but no. Still no response from AlpenaLED , so now I risk getting a ticket while driving because I’m unable to turn off my color changing underglow lights.

When I first bought lights everything worked as it should but after recent update my lights will no longer turn on very frustrating bc I just bought product and was extremely excited to use them and now I’m very disappointed would really like to continue to use product but being it’s app controlled I can connect to my lights just will not turn on in AlpenaLED anymore

You can select a lot of colors to be just plain solid. Or you can choose a predetermined fade to the next color. It’s like they were more concerned on not having red blue be able to flash together. That’s stupid and if some dumb kid were to do it, let him get the fine. Also, how about a software update so we can do more than just cycle predetermined colors.
Pros: you can adjust the speed of the flash.

In older versions you were able to pair up multiple LEDs, like for example if you had two or more Pods, you can connect to all of them at once and change the brightness of all of them at the same time. Now, with the new update it won’t let you do that anymore. Shame we can’t downgrade.

App won’t connect. Lights work great. But assuming that everything was gonna work as it should I hard wired mine into an accessory in the back of my suv which meant I had to put the remote back there as they only give u about an inch of wire for locating the remote. App won’t connect. So now I guess I have to tear it all out and start over. Probably just take it back and buy a real set from a reputable company.

I just got my LED lights today. i have been trying to connect my phone to the bluetooth and AlpenaLED keeps saying the device cannot be connected. i have turned my bluetooth on and off many times and tried all different outputs in my car. all outputs are 12V just like the device needs however it is still not working. i was really looking forward to these lights but for as much as i paid i’m very disappointed.

Worked perfectly at first when I bought the under-glow kit a month or so back but now when I select certain colors they aren’t what I chose , red is pink, green is white, blue is turquoise and purple is also pink and color wheel don’t work probably like it had before, after recent update on app the colors aren’t the same and the switch on top that usually turned lights off doesn’t work to turn lights off they just turn a random color and don’t turn off so lights are on 24/7 , developer please help

Won’t let me connect to Bluetooth when I scan it tells me to make sure it’s on and powered when it already has been and hasn’t even connected, won’t even let me changed the colors or anything how do I fix that ?

I’ve only had mine 1 day and I’m already experiencing troubles. I open AlpenaLED everything is fine... but when I click to open the light setup menu AlpenaLED continuously crashes so I have to completely restart AlpenaLED and keep trying till it works. Also I walk away from truck maybe 10-15 feet or open another app or text one of my friends and come back to AlpenaLED and nothing works. Can’t choose color, can’t turn the lights off, can’t do anything. So again I have completely restart AlpenaLED and keep trying. Finally like everyone else is saying there’s not enough color choices. AlpenaLED and lights have potential... just need to work out the kinks.

So far I found the user interface to be clunky feeling and difficult to navigate (not very smooth transitions). I wish the color wheel had a wider variety of color options and i wish there were more strobe effects. If this software would support music to strobe the lights to the song the whole setup would be fantastic. Hopefully that gets added in the future!

NOTICE: The following review is on my experience with AlpenaLED using the LED Interior Command lighting kit and the lighting kit itself.

AlpenaLED works as intended and sometimes causes a channel I’m changing to turn off, making me close AlpenaLED and open it again to fix the problem. I’d also like for there to be a possibility to have more than 4 channels since 4 doesn’t let you do much. I like the “scenes” in AlpenaLED which are pre-made which makes a channel cycle through different colors, but you unfortunately cannot change the scenes or make your own scenes, yourself. AlpenaLED is also a little confusing at first, but is easy to use after 10 or so min in AlpenaLED . I expect that these things should be easy to fix—and I hope that these things are changed, given I paid $100 for my setup—so it would be great if there would be an update addressing these things.

To sum up: there’s a bug that sometimes turns off the channel your changing, there is a limited number of channels, you can’t make your own scenes and AlpenaLED is difficult for new users to understand right away.

Had them for a couple days and wish they could let you personalize your own theme instead of pre sets they put and more options for the led exterior command. And the wires could be longer, had to cut them and extend each one myself. Install took around 4 hours cutting and extending each wire. Ima give it a 3 star until they can update AlpenaLED for more functionality for commands

Spent 100$+ on this and it’s great yes but the scene application limits it’s uses GREATLY. Being someone who is electronically inclined I do not understand why they’d make the scenes limited. It’s not like the circuit boards have these scenes preselected and just switches between them: this is just inefficient and more costly electronically than having a programmable microcontroller which I hope is installed on these things so that updates will allow customization of the scenes

Overall AlpenaLED works. I've only had the kit a day so I will update my review in the future if anything changes. So far the led's themselves are good quality however the adhesive would not sticky to anything. Had to use double sided tape to get the lights stuck anywhere on my car. As for AlpenaLED itself, it works. The grouping feature is nice, the controls work and the colors are bright and accurate. Some requests for AlpenaLED thogh. The ability to make custom scenes would be great. Also the ability to use my phones mic as an input source to sync the lights to music would be even better.

Many options for color and scenes but itd be cool if they let u create ur own scene. Also, no tutorial...didn’t take long for me to figure out but it can b a problem for others.

The lights were quickly connected via Bluetooth but there were no instructions tor this as well(don’t remember what I did to connect)

App hasn’t crashed yet, no disconnections either. 🤞

I think the led strips are great quality although AlpenaLED can be a bit tricky and I wish there were some other things that could be added. Like custom color choices like whatever color I want into a strobe or fade effect etc. AlpenaLED is very glitchy and has to constantly be restarted. But when they are working they look great.

So far AlpenaLED and lights work w/o issues other than the Bluetooth needing to reconnect. Kinda weird how it doesn’t show up in Bluetooth menu on phone. All connectivity is controlled through AlpenaLED . The scenes need a major overhaul. Green/Red alternating fade in/out was great for Christmas time. Most of the others I won’t ever use. The ability to make own scenes would complete this product. Instructions for AlpenaLED would be awesome. Here’s hoping an update is on the way.

I think someone swapped out the controller in my bad for the underglow kit as my interior lights only connect using the underglow option. That said I can still control them either together or individually and pick which ever colors or scenes I wish. I think I’m missing some functionality on the interior lights but it works for me. I don’t change the colors much anyway. AlpenaLED seems a little janky but it’s free so can’t complain! Dropping a star for my being to able to precisely pick the color or having presets that can chase the lights around the car or other effects that rgb controllers usually can do in 2018

I have this in my semi truck I think I am running 6 box’s in total AlpenaLED is perfect u can control each and ever independent light hook to each inlet so let me clarify if u have 1 box u can run 4 colors on the 4 box once u get into multiple box’s u want to label which is a option as well it’s all on what u want it to be I wish I could post a picture cause if u saw the way this is set up in a semi truck u would love it

Everything promised on the package works. I don’t know why people have so much trouble in these reviews. I never had a problem with AlpenaLED or the lights so far.

AlpenaLED needs to be fixed. i can be sitting inside my car and AlpenaLED will load up fine, show my car name and still won’t let me turn on the lights. i have to keep restarting AlpenaLED until it works and sometimes it won’t even recognize my car at all.

My phone is saying the led lights are connected to my blue tooth but it won't let me do anything it just keeps scanning and saying to turn blue tooth on and have power to led lights.i already got into the app and was able to change the colors and use the app.but later on tried to use app again and it's not letting me get to the part of the app where I can change the colors.but lights are still on just can't change colors or do anything on the app
